What makes you say that? Foreman showed no mercy. His style is just more methodical and slower paced. He's deadly. Don't be fooled by his slow pace approach. He's on a mission to crush and destroy.
One of the best! For me, Muhammed Ali is the goat! Why? Because of his contribution to boxing as a sport! Tyson as well made good contribution! Foreman, had steel chin and unimaginable strength! This is why he is one of the goats but he did not add that much to boxing and this is why he is not no 1!
George Foreman quizás fue el púgil con una pegada más temible . Sabía que su rival estaba k.o. de pie antes que el árbitro detuviera el combate , demostró deportividad empatía , porqué le podria haber hecho mucho daño de haber querido
George was basically Jason Vorhees at this point. Head like a rock, always moving slowly forward, capable of sending anybody who slipped a ticket straight to the shadow realm.
He didn’t prepare himself at all He took Ali too lightly and he had always knocked everybody out within a round or two. He got exhausted after 4-5 rounds. Foreman beat himself in that match. I’m surprised that Archie Moore couldn’t coach him better. I remember it so well. Nobody gave Ali a chance to beat Foreman. Ali’s tactic just came because he had no choice. I still wonder why Foreman didn’t wait for Sli to come out of ropes.Foreman attacked him 💯 until he got out of gas. By the way wasn’t the match delayed a month or so because Ali(?) had a cut? Dont remember more now! I hope I remember something correctly.
@kjetin99 Definitely. All I'm saying is that if George was more aware of his gas tank, he would've caught onto Ali's trap early. Ali probably would've struggled if that were the case.
According to Foreman, his problem was that he was so filled with anger and hate in his 20s. He loved, absolutely loved, the journey that God had for him instead of a long boxing reign: family, ministry, business, and then reclaiming the belt in his 40s. Foreman was one of the Gods in the Golden Age of boxing.

That's absolute rubbish. Foreman is a killer. He was giving 100%. Don't be fooled by Foreman's methodical and slow style. He wasn't being sympathetic or kind-hearted. He just calculates his punches and relies on timing. Make no mistake, Foreman was out to crush kill and destroy.

George one of the hardest hitter's in the history of boxing. Not only that He could receive punches from the best of them, he was true legend in the sport of boxing in so many respect. One of my all time favorite heavy weights.
Форман и не старался его бить. Ударит и ждёт пока тот упадёт. Не упал и ещё раз добавит. Не выплёскивал всю свою мощь. Удивительно как Али выдержал его удары.
Jimmy Ellis was from Louisville Kentucky, and he was a black man. The man Muhammad Ali fought. This surprises me that there was another Jimmy Ellis, good enough to be matched with, George Foreman. Is this true because I don't remember this.
George kept cutting his eyes and head, slightly toward the ref. He was wanting him to stop the fight, and defending himself, at the same time. When the fight wasn't stopped, he turned loose a few good punches to seal it. The ref stopped it at about the right time, or Ellis was going to the canvas.
It cracks me up when I see fighters get upset when the ref stops the fight. "Why'd you stop it? I'm ok." to which the ref replies, "He was hitting you with everything but the kitchen sink. You're done." LOL!
Peak respect for Foreman. He saw his opponent too haggard to fight back, but instead of laying him out with a brutal, showy knockout, he let the Ref end it. Definitely a GOAT.
Merciful Big George. Not only did he show mercy by not clobbering him completely when he could have, but in one sequence after he buckled him the first time, he even lightened up the power of the punches. He tried to go ahead and give the guy an out easily without doing further damage.
You could see Forman didn't want to hurt him any more. Ellis with the heart of a champion!
