I own an FS7 and find the low light not so great, that would be my only reason I would want an FX6. I am buying an FX3 for my Gimble and you just sold me on the data rate and record time. Many Thanks!
Thanks for the video! I own both, but I yet have to find out how to record 120 fps with audio on the FX3?! I can only choose 24, 29.97 and 59.94 fps in normal mode. Only in S&Q I have an option for 120 fps, but then again, no audio there. Could you tell me how you do it? Thank you 🙂
Makes sense! The only reason I keep my around is cuz every now and then we have a need for a run & gun set-up outside, a multicam setup (using BNC), and the timecode in!
At 5:03. There is a quick menu for frame rates. You don't have to go deep into the menu. A quick tap of the venue button will launch to quick menu on the touch screen. Only two screen taps are required.
3 for me. Night pov walks is my niche. The 6 is a little plump for being on a gimbal for an hour. Someone will say it later so I will say it first, too, the FX3 absolutely does have a mechanical shutter.
Oh yeah! Not even to mention gimballing for a long time on the FX6! Re: Mechanical Shutter - Omg you are totally right, I got my wires crossed. It’s the FX30 that doesn’t have a mechanical shutter! I've cut it out of the video. Thanks for correction 👍
Hi John. I just got the FX6 and noticed more noise at 12800 than my FX3. Did you turn on noise suppression and did you choose low, medium, or high? Thanks for your time.
Hmmm I’d have to check as I’m away from my FX6 for the next 10 days…but I’m pretty sure I have the noise reduction either off or set to low (and then do any denoising in post with NeatVideo)
Your reasoning is so off, I’m not even going to begin to tell you where you’ve gone wrong. But just about every place. I’m not saying the FX3 is not better but your reasoning makes no sense.
Has anyone been considering the FX6 recently? What is it about the FX6 that interests you?

@@StrongFrontTV Glad to help! :D
Good feedback. I believe Sony wants owners to have multiple cameras, so every camera has its use cases.
Thanks for the video!

sold fx6 for second fx3 and never looked back - for all the reasons you mentioned

Yes! You’re totally right, can’t believe I blanked on that! It still requires a reboot though
the quick menu is not quick
Great and informative video as always! Juuuuuuaaaaannn Antonio 😂
Gracias Carlitos!!
In a controlled lightning studio. What do you recommend between FX6 and FX3? In terms of color grading
Honestly - I would say the FX6. The colours seem much more robust straight out of camera, and the codec (MXF) handles a lot more as well.
@@JohnCastillo Thank you John. Love your videos easy to understand and straight to the point. Cheer
Thank you for helping me make a decision. Also, say hello to your uncle Bob/Juan Antonio!
Haha!! Will do 😜

Any thoughts on a potential fx3ii or fx4?
Me too subscribed. Very useful video. Thank you...👌
Best combo is to have both.
If you can afford it, absolutely! They compliment one another beautifully 🤩
How bout alongside an fx9

Enjoyed the video! What brand/model of drop-in baseplate/quick release plate is that you're using with the FX3 on the gimbal? Thanks.
Thanks! That’s actually the one that comes with the Ronin RS3 Pro.

Very valid points!
