  • Starting B.S. Computer Science program at Western Governor's University on March 1. Just received their Student Success Kit today. Check it out.
    Edit (5/24/2019):
    @ 2:39 - 2:53 - I talk about getting a second degree if I have to use a second term. Turns out the information I read was out of date, and what I mentioned is not allowed. You're only allowed to work toward one degree in any single term.

    Youve made a smart choice for an educational institution my friend. WGU has opened up so many opportunities for me that would not have been possible at a brick and mortar school. I obtained a job well before I graduated WGU. I studied their Cybersecurity degree while I was there. Best decision of my life. My 1st job paid $70,000 after an internship WGU helped me get over the summer. Mind you, I was nowhere near graduation when that opportunity opened up for me.

      Did you have any previous tech related job before getting into this degree? I'm worried I wont be up to speed like most folks with a tech background. Also wondering if they accept people with no prior experience, since I see it as something in the requirements for admissions.

    I follow your content as I too have a 3 year old and work full time. Completed 2 classes in 4 weeks. Funding study time is an art with a toddler, work and family. Can be done though.

    hey man! I got all kinds of certs of stuff but in my market, (NOVA) its extremely competitive and I went into IT rather than graduating with an IT degree. Im going back to school and chose WGU, this is great for me!!! Appreciate the content since I want to speed through as fast as possible.

    So after attending WGU I'm assuming you received your degree.. So I'm just curious now that you have graduated how has it been finding a job with your degree and if you feel that you learned what you needed to have a successful career or are you finding that you were mis informed in a lot of the courses because of the incorrect statement in the ZY books curriculum..i hope I'm asking that right lol

    How'd it go? I'm considering this degree path, I'm currently at a community college studying CS and i'm also married with a kid working full time. Would you say that your degree(s) are respected? Do you feel like it was worth it?

    Why did you go with Computer Science first over Software Development?

    • @codeBueno
      @codeBueno  5 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      christopher hinton I wanted the Math and Data Structures and Algorithms Courses. Honestly I would have preferred one or two more software development courses in lieu of a couple of the easier IT courses in CS but the Math and Algorithms were the deciding factors.

    What is your work schedule like? Are you working full time?

      My wife and I both work online from home. It definitely allows more flexibility than a traditional 9-5 work schedule.

      @@codeBueno Thanks for the reply. I am in the same program right now. I am jealous of your pacing :) Full time teacher right now. Started in December, on my 4th class now (averaging about 1 class per month). 7 more weeks until summer hits then hoping to knock out some extra classes ahead of schedule. Keep posting vlogs!

    Do you have any tech background?

    • @codeBueno
      @codeBueno  5 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Not formally before I started preparing for school.
      I took some intro to html, css, and javascript classes on a couple bootcamp websites in the months before I started. And now I've gotten some certifications as part of the degree program.
      I've been involved with small online businesses for several years, building websites on wordpress and using third party ecommerce and marketing software. Generally able to find my way around software as a user and hardware as a consumer do-it-your-selfer.
      Strong google skills, but no training in anything tech...
