    Hey everyone, thanks for watching! If you are curious about my background, I made a similar video for my undergraduate CS education at UNC Chapel Hill as well. Check it out:

    Do you have a video ranking all the different specializations? I understand it’s mostly about whatever you enjoy but I really think I want to go ahead and get my masters at Georgia Tech after I graduate this upcoming spring with my bs in comp sci. I’m just not sure what I want to specialize in. Computer graphics seem interesting but it seems like it’s if you want to learn skills for video game development which isn’t my goal per se. I think VR will become more in demand in the future which is my why. AI seems the best route now but I don’t want to master in it and later on it’s not as growing if that makes sense. Overall I just want something where my skills will not only improve but be in demand. What’s your thoughts?

      @bryan_truong  29 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

      I don’t have one yet! But subscribe and I might do one soon- I’ll at it to the backlog of potential videos.
      I think you should take note of the different specializations offered specifically for OMSCS and what is required. You do have a lot of electives so you can learn about things outside of the required specialization courses that you are pursuing.

    Hey Bryan, loved the video. Im also considering this program. Wanted to ask, was this the only page on the transcript or were there other pages explaining grading systems etc. also does the transcriot explain that the "O" stands for online? I feel some employers might not like online

    • @bryan_truong
      @bryan_truong  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      So in total there’s two pages. One is the transcript itself (which I showed) and the second one explains the grading system. And the second page explains that the “O” for campus (the common is just “C” in the first page) is for Online. But I don’t think it’s common for employers to ask for transcript anyways

    Any thoughts on taking Network Science (CS 7280)? I’m assuming the emphasis on Graph Theory/algorithms will help with FAANG interviews?

    Thank you! I’ve watched all your OMSCS related videos! I just got accepted for Fall24. I don’t have any CS background except I’ve done a DS bootcamp previously. How many hours would you say that I should expect to put in with no CS background. Is it even possible to for me to make it out?😅

      Between the two, I think the ML course is much more useful. Both were time consuming, but I think Artificial Intelligence was a little more difficult and less relevant to today's world

    Ugh, no idea why im looking at these videos when im still like halfway through my current masters at kennesaw state...
    Prices are generally the same, but im also not taking CS there (doing software engineering, my bs was in IT Game Dev at NJIT, so, KSU being a similar school to mine at a cheaper price (game dev clubs and all that, not classes) made me go for that over GT back in 2022)
    First few classes for me at KSU werent that educational (the IT class in AI taught me some stuff though) for me currently working as a software engineer (this being my 8th year in the field between 2 companies & 3 teams) with my current semester, because i chose 2 classes, unit testing (because its required for my major & because I hate/do this for work) and web services (the one I thought i needed to go crazy on), man, like, i really felt like i was drowning, trying to balance life, harder work requirements, trying to get my head together on game dev more from hobby to sorta-not-hobby (global game jam, id say, was pretty good this year for me)
    ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ honestly, my real question i gotta ask myself is, if i should just, drop grad school for now, re-apply in the future when i actually have time, or try to power through the next 2 years of part-time school with 5 classes left.
    I used to think i wanted to go thesis on my degree (because game design/development) but, man, as the market goes on, and when my main issue was my own confidence to DO stuff.
    Like, ive probably learned more stuff from extracurricular clubs i had access to as a student at KSU (while not living in Georgia) than KSU classes (except for now where taking 2 classes part time has really been eating at me)

      @bryan_truong  8 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      Hey man I'm glad you're here 😉
      i feel you, though. I was at a similar crossroads and just decided to power through and finish the degree. IMO it would be extremely difficult to drop grad school and then have the motivation to re-enroll.

    great video! Do you think you would choose MLE career in the future now done the ML specialization?

    • @bryan_truong
      @bryan_truong  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yeah, I think so. I've now worked (in my full-time role) on an ML project and of course normal software engineering projects. I'm realizing that I like the ML projects more, but I don't actually want to be the one tuning the models/a data scientist. However, I am largely happy with my current role , so even though I do want to target an MLE role/title in the future, I don't have any plans to do so in the immediate future. I just want to make sure I keep my skills relevant in the meantime

    Hey, recently got admitted into the program from a non CS background. Please what tech stacks used in the software development course(6300)? MERN? Been self studying, what tech stacks should I know prior to the program in other to get an A? Would really appreciate your answer. Thanks

    • @bryan_truong
      @bryan_truong  8 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      To be honest, I don't think you need to self-study prior to 6300. We didn't build a web app (the project is for a Java Android app). It's a pretty easy class to be honest, with the only challenges (potentially) stemming from it being a group project to design and make the app

      Hey, I can't vouch for or against it- I am not familiar with that program, nor am I in cybersecurity. I would recommend doing your own research to see if people are wary with it being such a short program. I also think that cybersecurity tends to have more of a focus on certifications, though, so see if that aligns with the curriculum as well. Hope that helps! Please like + subscribe for more

      No, it is not. It is intended to be a part-time program. If you want to do do it in a year, you will have to look for a full-time program.
