I’m thinking of maybe going for masters. How much is the intuition at Georgia tech for that? Could you maybe make a video on that? I’m sure more people would love to hear your experience.

The tuition at Georgia Tech is pretty affordable, around $750 a class. The cheapest traditional masters out there. If you don’t have your bachelors, focus on that for now. Where are you doing Calculus at?

YO ALEX. Are you working while doing your OMSCS through Georgia Tech? I am curious of what your personal tech job hunting experience was like after getting your Bachelor’s.
I just transferred about 30% credits to WGU BS in CS but not starting yet as I can do 13 more classes on Sophia & Study for a total of 68% of the degree done before my first term. According to the parter pages on WGU website it seems impossible to complete more than 75% (the limit) of the BS in CS units through ACE credits. I am just glad I can though.
I work a part time job that pays really well for the hours worked. Also trying to grind youtube. I could mass-apply for Software Engineer jobs, but trying to make it with my own hustles for once in my life. Not for the faint of heart… if you’re worried about not being able to get a job, don’t worry about that. WGU and TESU Computer Science grads get plenty of Software Engineer jobs, make six figures (Cali specifically), and are wildly successful. They are good schools and good degrees.
Keep up the grind man. The degree is very valuable to have. And being able to transfer in 75%, or near 75%, in ACE Credits is something 99.9% of the population isn’t aware of. It’s an AMAZING tool.

@@alexsheppeyou addressed my main concern which is being able to find a job with the degree. And I am open to decently paying careers that would be open to a cs bachelors degree from wgu that are not software engineer if you know of any?

Do you have to do the ace credit before you start? Or can you transfer after you enroll?
Yes. But you can also withdraw from WGU, do it, and re-enter. WGU will, in all likelihood, take you back, when you showed them you did a ton of ACE Credits.
You mentioned SWE jobs. Any reason why you opted for CS vs the SWE degree?
Main Reason: You can transfer in way more credits to the CS degree, 90 vs 71 compared to the SWE degree (speaking strictly ACE credits such as Sophia, Study.com, and StraighterLine)
Main reason #2: The SWE degree wasn't out yet
Secondary reason #1: Computer Science is more of the gold standard in the industry (although it doesn't matter much)
Secondary reason #2: Computer Science core classes like Data Structures & Algorithm 1 & 2 will prepare you a little better for job interviews.

@@alexsheppe Cool, thanks. My initial goal is a QA Automation position and I want to do Android dev in the long term so I don't see myself in roles that require lots of high level math. In this case, do you think the SWE option is a good fit?
Either degree will work fine!
Did Georgia Tech accept the Ace credits in your degree without any problem?
Yes.
Why did you switch from WGU to TESU? Pros and cons to each?
I did courses at WGU for C.S. and realized once I did them, I could finish at TESU faster because it’s a Bachelor of Arts in C.S. and they require 12 less C.S. credits. So I transferred to TESU to graduate faster. But do the courses at WGU or somewhere else like I did first cause TESU is $1600 per course.
If you don’t care about speed, just try to finish at WGU.
@@alexsheppe all I care about is speed because I’ll be using gi bill that expires 11/2025. So I should go tesu route?
@BeltFedTommy Just do WGU imo and if you get seriously stuck on a class you can’t finish like Discrete Math II, switch to TESU or WGU Software Engineering. The WGU SE degree wasn’t an option when I was doing mine.
Even though you get the G.I. Bill, I’d still transfer as many ACE Credits as possible to ensure you can do your WGU degree in 1-2 terms. You’ll have to pay out of pocket for the ACE Credit courses, could spend up to $1500, but well worth it imo. They are 2-4 day courses.
I was going to do the it management degree
That one can def be done in one term. But I would still transfer in ACE Credits.
