WGU is an accredited online university offering online bachelor's and master's degree programs.
Marcel tells his WGU Student success story on how he got started in Information Technology and gives a throughout review of his current Bachelor degree programs. In this video, Marcel's overall assessment of WGU is sincerely positive.

Education. WGU says that Competency-based education is our unique learning model that allows you to be in the driver's seat of your own education. Students don't take traditional classes at a certain time-coursework is entirely online and you can move through the assignments at whatever pace works for you. Use your previous knowledge and experience to help you accelerate or spend more time on areas that are new. WGU is a school that actually fits within your busy life, not the other way around.
Reading up on the individual degrees will also help you distinguish the difference between the
computer science versus software development degrees.

@@UncleTreCSE thank you. It has all of the certs and some I've been aiming for. And thankfully I already have an a.a.s degree (unrelated). Hopefully it should ease the gen ed classess lol.
@@HiNu7 yes that’s a big deal knocking out all of the General education classes
I got my CS Degree online from Michigan State University this year in 2023. Took me 6 years, because I took 2 years off due to the Pandemic. Yes, half of all your classes will be non-IT or non-Tech related, which are your general elective courses! You will not learn much IT-related stuff until you get your 60 or more general college units out the way! I had to take 2 or 3 math classes! Calculus I and II, for sure! Stats is another one or college geometry or trigonometry are other options!
I’m 39 years old and almost done with first semester of CS degree from WGU.
I’m still new to programming and only know the basics and plan to go for the masters in CS AZU.

I would look into the software engineering program at wgu. They focus on coding.
Where can you transfer for masters and phd? Which big schools accept wgu ?
You can get accepted into any grad school. WGU is an accredited university. There might be other requirements like the GMAT but you can get in to most schools
How long did it take you finish calculus? Did you study trig and algebra on khan academy before?
Professor Leonard on TH-cam does a much better job in teaching those subjects in my opinion.
did he contact georgia tech to find out if they will accept coursework from wgu?
I’m not sure if he did however I’m fairly certain that they will accept credits from WGU. I made a video about WGU accreditation. You should check it out..
Isn't all the material outdated
Not really, you have to remember that this isn't just a "software development" degree. It's primary objective isn't to teach you coding or frameworks or other similar skills that devs use, that's the secondary objective. It's main thing is math, logic, critical thinking and problem solving, algorithms, and how computers work at all layers. Those things, can't really be outdated.
