Aren't you moving house, setting up a new home studio in your new home?
Pee?
@@kutyaember Pee.
@@kutyaember yes - but we have to do renovations to the house before we move so my studio is still set up the same way for now so I can still make videos
Hey brother I’m genuinely curious as to how these songs are played on a 6 string but they are so damn heavy is it double dropped or does it have something to do with the guitar? Maybe having a baritone on it changes things? Maybe a pitch shifter? Help plzz 🥺🥺
Loathe: if Meshuggah and Deftones had a baby
Tiny bit of gojira here and there too
And code orange
And was raised by gojira

Loathe makes me want to pick up a very heavy brick and politely place it back down
Then hug the brick telling it all will be fine
With care
Mans is litterally playing on steel cables
Nickel*
@@Sjrm126 I meant like steel cables like you’d see on a suspension bridge?
try playing a 5 string bass. those strings are nothing
@@Sjrm126 no one cares bruh
Wait till you see a bass, it’ll blow your mind
I love Archetype Gojira. It's so easy to get great tones out of it.
I've got so many plugins but Archtype's Gojira and Plini cover so much ground I barely load anything else for for the amp sim portion.
"I let it in..." was all archetype plini
Yeah! I was originally going to try to use that but I found it a bit easier to get tones I liked with the Gojira for the heavy rhythm tone so I went with that instead
Sorry what
@@andrewwhitmore8756 Yessir, George Lever the Mix Engineer on that Album said it was all the 3rd amp!
@@justevan877 I could've sworn it was Cali, maybe I'm thinking of HLB
@@andrewwhitmore8756 Yee Buster uses Nameless and Cali for HLB
Surprised you didn’t include THAT riff from Broken Vision Rhythm. Y’know, THAT riff…
I was literally waiting for THAT riff to appear, kinda let down tbh…
That’s the riff that got me into them
The sh isv habzua uxbsbbxja zkalp mskxj one?
@@camdero3294 yeah!!!!
Honestly probably just doesn’t know how to play it.
I wasn’t a fan of Loathe at all a few weeks back. Then I heard ILIIAITE again, and then I became a massive fan. Really dig their style now
Best band in the game right now. Can't wait to see them live soon.
Was hoping you’d cover this band. So underrated
i mean, Loathe has become a pretty big name in the scene at this point
Honestly no idea how the riff directly after the intro of Heavy is the Head didn't make the list, that takes #1 for me
A year late but I’ve had that riff stuck in my head and couldn’t figure what song it was from so thank you sir
that all black baritone squire is so sick!
LETS! GOOOOOOO!!!!
Huge thanks for the preset, just what I needed
YESSSSSS DUDE THAT EAST OF EDEN RIFF IS EASILY MY FAVOURITE SHITS SO GOOD 😭😭 great work as per usual.
I cant really define it, but they're just so sick. It's just one of those things. Theres nothing super special about em, but theres nothing else like em. So good. Nice job man.
I think this dude can deliver massive tones with literally anything
Just got Archetype Gojira and I don't regret it one bit! Killer plugin!
YESSS BROOOOO LETS FUCKING GOOOOOOOOO
So happy for the Cold Sun love. Incredible album.
I love Loathe instrumentals
Bro saw the gunpla and evangelion in the background and immediately had to sub and your content Is fucking rad love the band btw
Dance on my skin is probably the best song in the world.
THIS VIDEO WAS INEVITABLE 🔥🔥🔥
You had me at "Gojira".
How could you leave out the riff from Servant and Master?! One of the best to in my opinion!
probably my favourite breakdown ever
Servant and Master, and Broken Vision Rhythm, both heavy and groovy as FUCK
Also didn't even play the heaviest riff from Heavy Is The Head 🤦♂️
@@DJENTISNTNOTAGENRE that low B is something else, especially the ending
@@BetaBreaking That song is pure punishment all the way up until the acoustic outro that seemingly comes out of nowhere, but then you realize it's leading you right into A Sad Cartoon. Man, what a fuckin' album I Let It In truly is. So good it beat out the new album from a band I have been listening to since I was 14 that same year.
didn’t expect screaming to be in this
Loathe Heaviest guitar riffs: Every riff
oh yeah man the things they believe really got me head banging and stank facing
dude this is awesome i love loathe so much!!
I love the sweater
yes this is what we needed
Loathe as one ❤️
Brutal. Love it!
Just started getting into this band. Kinda has that chill vibe on some of it like deftones
This just makes me miss my baritone Jazzmaster even more 🥺
珍しいチューニングだけどカッコいい!
didnt realize they played in so many different tunings
HE PULLED OUT BOTH OF EM AWEE SHIT SON
what makes the guitar baritone while still being a 6 string? can this be done by just changing string gauge? That would sem almost too simple for that low tone.
The scale length of the guitar is 30” compared to the standard 25.5”, the longer length allows for much lower tunings while maintaining a relatively tight string tension
Baritone=a electric guitar with x amount of strings that's over like 27 inches. I THINK
I hit things with sticks lmao
Scale. This guitar is a 30 inch. That is the measurement of the fretboard.
Number of strings doesn’t correlate to whether a guitar is a baritone or not. That comes down to scale length. I’d say 26.5” to 30” counts as baritone, anything above is bass vi.
@@NOKnova yay I got something right lmao
It's simple, I see loathe, I like.
Sick video! Amazed rest in violence wasn't included
That chugg on 1:59 though
Would you say the Squier Vintage Modified Baritone Jazzmaster is essential to getting a similar sound to Loathe?
Not necessarily, its just single coil pickups
Just a baritone in general due to the extremely low tunings. Lucky there are a lot cheaper alternatives from the VM jazzmaster like the subzero baritone and the Harley Benton one! Even Gretsch had a cool cheap baritone too!
@@isaaclopez2135 I actually ended up getting the Baritone Jazzmaster and then eventually sold it since I wasn't really using it much. Not to mention the Harley Benton version came out a while back and I like the bridge on that one a lot more so I think if I want another "jazzmaster" I will just pick that up and replace some of the hardware. I also have a Paranormal Baritone Cabronita Tele too, which should still fill the void of the Jazzmaster to some degree.
I fuckin love Loathe
That mousepad though... 👌
For double drop c or d are using a pitch shift or is that still just the guitar? I have the same guitar and sounds super sloppy past an octive down ..... Mine is E to E one step down... Im going crazy lol
Loathe is so underrated
Do you know when the next neural DSP sale is going to be? I have been using bias fx 2 for a while and done the free trial for a few of the different neural DSP plugins and have really enjoyed the omega granophyre plugin especially with how simple but amazing it sounds and is to use. As I am a student I do have a lot money to always to go and spend.
Heaviest loathe riff- the entirety of broken vision rythmn
I have this guitar. Such a nice whip
Andrew man you gotta layer multiple snare sounds if you want it to cut through the mix ! The attention to detail in replicating the songs drums is fantastic, but to get the true phatness you need to go the extra mile in production my guy
"What tuning are you in?"
"Drop D."
"Oh, right."
"By that, I mean Drop D an octave down."
Thats a lot of tunings, with a C# thrown in there. How low can you go with guitars these days. And I love it.
Archetype Loathe when?
1:01
hey andrew baena, why do you have an ass wrist support thing for your mouse?
Tiddies, not butt
@@BaenaCarcosa Ohh ok
Dude, this weird eaeadf# is tuned up or down about eadgbe? and what gauge did you used for?
Wow!!! Very goood
I was just staring to that albedo mousepad the whole video
Wow no "Rest ; In Violence" or "In Death" from the EP Prepare Consume Proceed? Both are very very heavy, either way great playing and great video. :)
underrated EP
I regret selling this bad boy. Playing Sleeping Giant riffs in drop E was so sick. Damnit
fkn sick
Can you make a video regarding baritone vs 7/8 strings ?
I've done that already!
@@BaenaCarcosa share link please ? ☺️ can’t find it
Loathe and Karnivool are the reasons I’ve been wanting to get a baritone guitar for years. Any recommendations on how it was for you, potential pros and cons, etc?
Get the subzero one keyan houshmand did a video on it
Pros:
Dropped tunings
Sustain and intonation
Familiar fret/hand placement
27-30' neck length
Massive tone/bottom end (depending on guitar)
Cons:
Scale length
Pickup's
Massive tone/bottom end
String guages
I love baritones, I own the Gretsch and use it for C#AEADF# tuning. It's a massive sounding guitar that's fantastic for metal and fuzzed out guitar tones but it definitely needs to be tamed, those pickups hear EVERYTHING. Compared to my bass and 27.5' 7 string, the 30' allows this guitar to be crystal clear without having to make massive changes to my set-up. I switched out the stock strings for Ernie Ball Bass/Guitar strings (.20-.90) but had to switch the .20 for a .16 and the .90 for .105. It worked without a hitch ever since. The flexibility it allows in lower tunings has definitely allowed my creativity and technique to flow in a way that isn't present with my dropped C# 25.5 Telecaster.
All in all, baritones are a great substitute for players not wanting to detune massively, up string gauges, and keep clarity on lower tunings. If you haven't played a baritone, I'd recommend practicing on a bass or trying one out at a guitar shop. Don't move to a 7-8 string as well, it's a massive waste if you aren't using the top strings and have short fingers.
Oh yeahhhhhhhhh
Did you do any mods on the Squier for? (setup-wise)
Still using the stock pickups on that Gretsch even though you said you didn't like them? Have you considered hitting up Seymour Duncan to wind a custom high-output mini humbucker for it?
Nah I won't bother since I will sell this guitar eventually
Im always confused when you put, ets say Dea.... tuning.. do you mean Low D or standard D.. :). when using a Baritone,...
thanks bro! what string guages do you use in this video?
oh and also, what preset for the archtype gojira plugin?
Holy fuck... how many tunings?
You should do Whitechapel or Emmure next
How come your input seems so low in Gojira? Is that just the nature of the pickups, or does the plugin react better with a lower input?
I have the volume knob super low on my guitar since it's all pre-recorded audio just so I can hear myself but am not playing too loudly over my tracked guitars basically
Tone walkthrough please!
Make the Elena siegman please
This video gave me permanent stankface
W mousepad tho
Can someone let me know the name of this guitar?
String gauges?
Someone, please tell me where he got that hoodie.
Brand Of Sacrifice
What guitar is that? :O!!!
Dude you should do a wolfenstein ost cover
I plan on it! Haven't had the time yet
@@BaenaCarcosa no pressure man!
String gauge?
How'd you get the hum out of those P90s?
I didn't really do anything special, if you download my tones linked above you can see my settings
that tone is naaaasty dude.
DO IT WITH INFANT ANNIHILATOR
What string gauges were used?
X2
The heaviest band in existence, they have no competition
Humanity's Last Breath, Lorna Shore, Meshuggah.
@@blackspine343 all extremely heavy bands, love em all - meshuggah have written some monstrously heavy tracks over the years: Demiurge, I, In Death Is Death - all ridiculously heavy. HLB are also fantastic, Valdë, Detestor and a couple tracks off Abyssal are destructively heavy. Lorna Shore have only done one * really * heavy track with To The Hellfire, most of their other stuff is a bit corny but very entertaining. I believe Loathe are still the heaviest, in terms of pure atmosphere and feeling - listen to red room.
Loathe....the reason cheaply made baritone guitars got expensive.
🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻
YOOOOOOOO
Loathetones
Did Heavy Is The Head... even use that low B?
Not the section of it that I played, but that is what that song is tuned to
@@BaenaCarcosa I wish you showcased it! Always love your content though bro!
Why all metal guitarists play in this classic stance
Jesus FVVVVCK!!!! DIS-GUS-TING!!!
This guitar needs some therapy, it sounds like it has the literal DEFINITION of anger issues.
I mean...why not bass 💀🤘🏻
different strings, construction, especially pickups, etc
This still will never compare to Electric Wizards heaviness.. Remember everyone, it isnt the tuning, but the jam and groove (also sometimes tempo) to the song that makes it heavy.
Ah a man of culture i see
Dopethrone definitely has that insane bass and that dragging behind the beat molasses feel.
Ah! Yeah Ophis is also in the same vein, dirty tones
I see your Electric Wizard and I raise you a Bongripper
@unknown enemy and I raise you...Buried at Sea
Been months and this dude still don’t know how to spell, “Aggressive” 😩
That's mean
