Your guitar skills are awe-inspiring
Thank you so much!
loving the grindcore, sludge, groove, and new wave american heavy metal riffs here
A lot of talent showcased in a short amount of time. Loved the descriptions, couple of them had me laughing, all of them spot on. Looking forward to more videos from you in the future.
Some of these riffs sound so good I want songs for each one! Especially Death Metal
"Pipe organ required." Hey, now. 🙂
It's impressive that you can write riffs that work in so many subgenres. Great video! 🤘🙂
4:20 that part is the best rock transition I've ever heard, like you feel: chill, madness, both
I love it! I just can't imagine how much effort for this. Keep up the good work!
Big point worth mentioning in NWOBHM is that they actually write songs in major keys!
Name one
@@QCLagstone Run to the Hills. It's in C major. Actually, you can chuck the entire Number of the Beast album.
Denim and Leather - Saxon - B Maj there's a bonus one.
Dude there's dsbm songs in major, I you're a good musician you don't need to be afraid of literally half of the key signatures out there
@@branlopgarThat explains why I dont like that album very much.
That Necrophagist inspired Riff was just fucking perfect
It's probably my favorite out of the whole video
Now we need a similar video comparing genres with riffs but with the same amp so the differences are really noticeable
Shakespeare once said, "Brevity is the soul of wit"
So when it comes to Metal subgenres this video is genius and im fuckign idiot
I can be truly wise sometimes
Yo it's perg
I love your metal videos lol
Great job and have a wonderful 2024 🎉
Thank you! You too!
Awesome video. It feels like whenever someone does one of these they get doom and black completely wrong, but you nailed it.
Good job 👍
Not much a of metalhead myself but I grew up listening to funk and blues type music... So I naturally gravitated to the groove metal and nu metal.
Lotsa Sevendust and Pantera in my playlists.
The death metal riff making u throw the devil horns up was a slick touch. Well done
That little 'industrial' chug was sick 🦈
Edit k just tried it, was easier than i thought at 170bpm, 190 sounds great but hard to stay consistent, it's a neat rhythm to pair with kick drums, thanks for the idea!
Peep out some Fear Factory....that's what his riff reminded me of
Why did you put the shark emoji
@@spicymeatballs2thespicening cause sharks are metal af
@@RavenRedwood as a shark enjoyer I approve 🦈
@r.h.8537 thanks man I never took the time to spin their old stuff, pretty fuckin killer actually
I'd like to add that many sludge metal bands utilize heavy, bluesy riffs and that some slam death bands do fast riff parts to mix it up a bit. Love that Gorguts shirt!
Thoroughly enjoyed this compilation, very well done! I'm off to watch part 2!
Would have liked to hear your take on dissonant death metal, honestly. Your riffs were 👌🏻
I’m too high to watch this right now but I just wanted to say the meme in the thumbnail of this video is absolutely hilarious. Every time I look at it it gets funnier.
Awesome job, Gotta say though couldn't help but notice the EZ-8 in the back, Nice
02:50 At first I read "tactical death metal". I don't know what that would sound like but I imagine it has a picatinny rail, aimpoint and forward grip.
When I was rrading this I imagined the idea of like the swiss knife of guitars lol, mainly a guitar, but there's like a flute, a snare drum, a clarinet and a load of other images lol
Edit: OMG I just remembered I made edited this picture as an inside joke a while back of a gun with strings like a guitar and I tried to put as many parts from guitars in it so it was just a gun guitar, a guntair of sorts lol
well done little brother, you nailed every genre, especially Djent!
that melodic metalcore breakdown is so sick
5:29 i didnt know that playing thall would make you look like a frog
I didn’t know either, but it did.
5:10 Golden Freddy Fnaf
Dude, I LOVED this! Been a classic Metal fan for a while and this really helps people connect with the types of METAL they enjoy. Turns out I love Power Metal, Death (Swedish), Melodic. Keep doing what you're doing! Much love!
Wow, this must’ve taken some time, I’m legitimately impressed at how well this was done 😂
I am into 80% of these but thanks for clarifying the difference between Symphonic Black Metal and Symphonic Death Metal this is gonna make finding new stuff way easier.
It's not, just listen to anything and then decide if you like it or not. Limiting myself to a genre never worked
@@SgtSuissie I hear you, but I mean for finding things to try listening to in the first place, without recommendations. Search terms.
i'm working on which style of rock i want to work on for my own stuff, so this video actually helps a lot.
glad to see thall in there :)
great job!
3:52 bro, idk how you managed but you put all my favourite genres of metal together from Progressive to Nu
Edit: BRO, I JUST NOTICED YOU EVEN HAVE A GUITAR WITH THE TURNERS ON THE CORRECT WAY
I’ve been a metal fan since the late 90s and I’ve just learned the difference between genres! Well done and thank you!
