Regarding the sock in the theater: In the original game, there was a sock present inside of the theater in the hubworld, but it was marked as inactive and therefore did not show up in game. The data was there though. Purple Lamp used the original level files as a base for the levels in Rehydrated*, so the sock data carried over, but the inactive flag didn't. Evidently, it was overlooked by the level designers. *Fun fact: they even went so far as to use a community-made level editor called "Industrial Park". In later versions of the Rehydrated, the developer of that software is even thanked in the credits.
I found out about this weird glitch where THQ advertised that this game would have unused content, like Robo Squidward, but he was only in some random multiplayer mode... Oh, wait a minute...
The developers specifically said in an interview that they would not be changing the main story with cut content though. Makes sense since shoehorning those kinds of things into the game would make it convoluted, so the compromise was including them in multiplayer (which was unfortunately rushed and tacked on but that's a different story)
SpongeBob clearly had his belt set to M for Mini, that's why NPCs shrink by him. But with these out of bounds, it's like you can be anywhere, and anytime at all, down here in the deep blue sea.
I have done a bit of animation. I took a class on it in college. I know that when ever you are doing a squash and stretch animation, any value change in the scale of the character must equal out to zero. So if you subtract from the character's scale you must add back that scale exactly. Otherwise you get something like this where the character either grows or shrinks a little each time it goes through the animation cycle. The devs must have incorrectly balanced out the animation so that the change in scale ends with a positive value rather then zero

13:16 The objects that are solid despite being out of bounds are instances of objects that are also found in the 'in bounds' parts of the game. Instancing simple objects like those rocks is pretty common. I think the only reason the tree dome objects are instanced is because they can be seen from multiple angles, so it was easier to instance them than create new objects with the same models. And ground meshes typically are one big mesh, all of which has collision enabled. It's easier than trying to have multiple giant meshes perfectly lined up or having only parts of the mesh be solid.
@JoJo And can you really fault them? Nobody was expecting Covid. Is more than understandable some games would end up like this thanks to the pandemic, we are still getting accustomed to the new normal.
I want to assume that the randomness of out of bounds collision is because the devs just used assets from other levels, goo lagoon and jellyfish fields as an example for the hub world, because I’d imagine they made the hub world later in development
I personally noticed that when in the Sea Needle as Sandy if you used the torn floor as a platform hugging the wall and gliding you can speed up the bubble ball entrance opening earlier than intended even though it does nothing for you.
Damn as always you put in insane amounts of effort to show of the game. I dig the "live stream" segments as a little mix into the normal episode and it is alwayse great to see you giving speedruners and the speedrun of the game some love

The original game was ported over into unity using a community made tool called industrial park. Some things were left in some weren't. all of the models were brought in from the original to make it an almost 1:1 scale. If you go out of bounds in sandy's tree dome you can see that the map is actually just the old one imported. If you take the camera under Mrs. puff in rock bottom you can see a model for a shiny object. To someone new to the game they'd find this strange but if you speed run the original you'd remember that underneath Mrs. puff in rock bottom there is a shiny object with a trigger that gives you all the paintings needed for that spatula immediately. If you guys have any other questions about the game i'll try to respond the best i can.

Nick sucks now because they ruined Spongebob with their cheapskate ways. But then you look at Cartoon Network. They went from Regular Show, Adventure Time and Pokémon to ALL HAIL TEEN TITANS GO!
There's a Sandy glitch you missed. If you go to any slide accessable as Sandy, go to the end of the slide, slide in the opposite direction, jump and hover when you start going in reverse, you can go backwards on slides. I used this to get back through Sandy's dream when I forgot to open the Teleport Box at the beginning.
I found some weird glitch involving the slide after the King Jellyfish Boss Fight. If you slide on some certain edges, the game gets kinda buggy, plus near the tail end of the slide. If you jump to certain areas, Hans can also glitch out too. I've recorded a few situations of this glitch playing out if you wanna see.

In my play through, I once fell through the hub world and fell infinitely through the world when using the Sponge-ball power-up to get to the second area (which has the police station). There was also this visual glitch whenever I would look at the goo in Goo Lagoon where there were these artifacts that only showed up in the top-left corner of the screen and only when I rotated the camera so that the goo/water took most of that side of the screen. Both disappeared after the recent patch, but I thought they were interesting and I haven’t met anyone that had the break in those specific ways in their playthroughs.
If I had to guess why the out-of-bounds rocks have collision, it's because they're just copy+pasted from the other in-bounds rocks in the area and just scaled differently, and they just didn't bother making them intangible.
In my version of the game, I used spongebob to slide down spork mountain in Jellyfish fields, and when I went to some platforming on the side, the momentum stopped, then slingshotted back gaining speed, and when the hand came to pick him up, he kept on restarting from the side to the point where spongebob picked himself up to restore him where he was.
I've found a couple of fun ones: 6:00 In one of the levels, you can jump in and out of out of bounds, and if if you do it right, you'll be free from hans As Patrick, if you body slam directly into a teleport box, you will slide around whenever you get out of the box
I have to be honest, this episode really dragged. The 'live' section for getting out of bounds took up sooo much time and really didn't jive with the energy of the rest of the episode.
I really feel that the first “glitch” is really an Easter egg in reference to the episode where spongebob has the shrinking belt but Patrick sets it to w for wumbo.
I remember getting a glitch in the Switch version, where if you switch to a different character as Spongebob in his ball form, the camera will then tilt to the left and make playing the game really hard until you kill yourself. I got the glitch in Rock Bottom.
I ACCIDENTALLY FOUND A COOL GLITCH!!! It's super easy to do (This still works in 1.0.3): 1. Go out of bounds using the easy glitch at 6:51 2. There is a small purple cliff behind you with a sand overhang 3. Start hugging the tiny purple cliff while jumping and hitting your head on the sand overhang 4. You should start to do that sliding thing, make sure you're as close as possible to the cliff 5. Hans should try to put you back in bounds but..... 6. when he does you should actually by *inside* of the floor 7. Shortly after you'll start falling through the floor and into the void! I would record the glitch but the game won't let me record the software so I'll have to wait until I get my new camera and record the screen. If anyone does this glitch please tell me! I'm not sure if I'm the first person to find this
I think the growing the shrinking was a hidden Easter egg and totally intentional. Spongebob shrinks the citizens of Bikini Bottom and Patrick has mastered setting it to WUMBO!
Actually you can have 82/80 socks. The following happened on my first playthrough. In the first area of Sand Mountain,one of the socks appears after you destroy a certain Sandman. If you destroy it with the Bubble Bowl while standing at the place where it spawns,you'll grab it during the cutscene it appears in,but when the cutscene ends,you'll grab it again. This way Sand Mountain will say 11/10 socks.

I think the values changing makes the most sense, especially since Patrick’s and spongebob’s animations are at different speeds they would give different values.
5:50 that is very similar to a glitch in kingdom hearts 1.5 were you dodge roll and talk to an npc at the same time and sora will keep dodge rolling, he will even go right through load zones without activating them

Actually you can have 82/80 socks. The following happened on my first playthrough. In the first area of Sand Mountain,one of the socks appears after you destroy a certain Sandman. If you destroy it with the Bubble Bowl while standing at the place where it spawns,you'll grab it during the cutscene it appears in,but when the cutscene ends,you'll grab it again. This way Sand Mountain will say 11/10 socks.

The glitch and bugs still occur till now, and the saddest thing is the developers decided to ignore it and don't even fix the rest of the issues
Yeah, but at least some skips are still posible in the lastest version...

I think the values changing makes the most sense, especially since Patrick’s and spongebob’s animations are at different speeds they would give different values.
the first glitch works because Spongebob's groundpound is set to M for mini, and Patrick's is set to W for Wumbo
5:50 that is very similar to a glitch in kingdom hearts 1.5 were you dodge roll and talk to an npc at the same time and sora will keep dodge rolling, he will even go right through load zones without activating them

Somehow, the warhead glitch to get out of bounds still works in 1.0.4
