10:15 I think I know why. The devs probably had a problem coding in a way for spongebob to talk to the computer, so they reused an interactive character they had already (probably recently) finished.
I believe it was the devs didn't want to create another character model so they used one they had

no that’s just how you make games, you can’t make the machine speak without the camera looking weird so it’s easier and faster to just put an npc in the box

4:20 ...I guarantee that SpongeBob crude drawing was meant as an early save screen icon (Instead of that Life Preserver that pops up when saving).... Also worth mentioning, that crude SpongeBob icon is a rough sketch that Stephen Hillenburg would always draw next to his name whenever he autographed something.

I think it may be based off Brine pools/Undersea lakes which are incredibly toxic to anything that swims into it by sending it into shock and presumably causing it to die then but regardless, I wouldn't be surprised if Goo lagoon is based off a brine pool considering Stephen IS a Marine Biologist and as someone with a huge love for Marine biology myself, I think that's really neat

The drawing of SpongeBob is a peace of art that was used in almost every intro and outro of the show from season 1 to about season 5
They could EASILY fit the unused Patrick's Dream level and Robo MuscleBob boss into the main story mode of the remake.
But........... they didn’t.

It is really weird to see the patrick stage being 100% functional, even if the polish is lacking. I really wonder why it was cut. Maybe they literally just forgot it or they decided that they did not have any time left to finish it up.
Probably the latter. But maybe they felt the dream level was getting too long for gameplay balance and cutting Patrick’s portion of it was the best option.
From playing the game as a kid, I remember the dream levels taking me far longer than any other part of the game. Almost to the point where it got frustrating and a bit tedious. That could just be the bias of childhood memory, though.
there are 2 possibilities i have heard:
1. i heard from beta 64's video that it was because of lack of time, like you said,
or 2. i heard from jeremy klinger's review that it was because it was out of personality for patrick and the final one fit him much better

Playing this game back then was a blast, so I'm really excited to see what I couldn't years and years ago!

I've never played the original since I was born in 2002 and would've been a year old when it released and sadly never heard of it as a kid, so I'm just excited to play it at all honestly. I got an add for the remastered game for the a FIRST time ever while watching this
Funfact: I've been watching gameplay of Rehydrated and it seems that a decent chunk of unused dialogue has been put into the final game. SpongeBot SteelPants was also referenced in the multiplayer, Patrick's Dream was implemented as a couple islands and Robo-Squidward was made the boss of it.
And as for the trailer of the game where MuscleBob SteelPants is shown, I've seen that on the PS2 version of BFBB as a child by waiting idle on the title screen for a few minutes iirc. I didn't know how to use the internet at the time, so I can tell you for a fact that it wasn't me watching it online, and I didn't own Double Dash growing up. Just an extra tidbit you might find interesting

Having an interactable character hidden inside an object is actually pretty common in games. Fallout 3 has a guy wearing a tram car for a hat to make moving trains, because vehicles didn't have scriptable paths but humans did.

The outline and coloured in yellow is actually used in the start screen for the gba game. It might also wanted to be use in the start screen for the console version but was cut
Plankton’s walking animation wasn’t fully finished that’s why it’s all goofy.
I can’t wait for the remake! I waited almost a decade for this game! I 100% this game like 10 times and I honestly can’t get enough of this game.

I’ve had Spongebob:Battle For Bikini Bottom on the PlayStation 2 For the longest time (est.2005) and I’m going to get my preorder from gamestop for SB:BFBB Rehydrated tomorrow (June/23/2020) and I got it for the
PlayStation 4 Version for two (2) reasons:
1.Because It’s a nice game tribute to my original PlayStation 2 copy I have ever since I was a little kid
2.Im familiar with PlayStation Line of consoles so I preorder it for the PS4 (at gamestop) instead for the other Consoles (btw I love Nintendo too but I thought it would be fitting to get for the PS4)
I never knew there was this much unused content in one of my favorite Childhood games and it’s super cool to see what could have been,this video was super cool to watch and brings me back memories :)

I was feeling dehydrated before this, the good content made me rehydrated
There were two spin-off games of Wallace & Gromit that are both REALLY good. However I think that they both have lots of unused content, because when you finish "Wallace & Gromit In Project Zoo", there are two item slots that are still empty. This would mean two ENTIRE LEVELS would have been scrapped, as you get a weapon in most levels. If you did a lost bits video on these two UNDERRATED games, I’d be really happy! Also, I GOT A BATTLE FOR BIKINI BOTTOM REMASTER ADVERT.
