This is still the best Simpsons game there ever was. Im so glad I got to experience it as its chock full of the best referrences like Homer's "S-M-R-T" Great episode!
4:24 It's actually possible to start the mission, go up right next to the closed Power Plant door, hit the car reset button and you'll be respawned inside the building behind the door. Just so you're aware (I watch too many speedruns lol). The Flanders house clip did surprise me tho, never seen that one before.
I don't think the Flanders house clip is particularly well known. I found it when I was like 14 a good few years ago now, but was never able to find anything online about it at all, so I documented it a little when I got the PC version of the game last year. And then it showed up unexpectedly in this video, which was a welcome surprise haha
The Simpsons: Hit & Run was the peak of Simpsons video games, and with the abundance of glitches, there's always something to come back to. Also, I'd pay good money to see somebody finish the game while the Stunt Speed Glitch is in effect at all times.
The Stunt Speed glitch is actually used in speedruns. Honk To Jump isn't allowed because it's a cheat code, but you can emulate the effect with a combination of sufficient Stunt Speed and a ramp. By doing this, you can clip out of bounds for a much faster and easier drive for the nuclear waste Auto-topsy missions.
A TAS (tool-assisted speedrun) might be able to accomplish this, because a tool-assisted runner could have frame-by-frame control over the car's movements and thus reducing the out-of-control sensation realtime players experience. The main obstacle (assuming you're going for pure speed instead of entertainment, and there IS an argument for doing it just because it would be fun to watch) is determining if the time cost of setting up the glitch is worth the savings from driving around faster. If speed is the objective, utilizing the "no traffic" glitch to remove traffic from all possible missions might actually be more effective than trying to get stunt speed.
@@michaelwesten4624 The gameplay's alright. It's no GTA but it's a lot better than a lot of licenced stuff back in the day, and for kids not allowed to have GTA this was all we had.

This game is always such a trip down memory lane for me! I’d watch my brothers play it before they were old enough to play GTA, and our ps2 is long, long gone now but the memories are always there haha
It’s an absolute shame that this won’t be getting a remaster. We can beg all we want, but nothing’s going to change the fact that the studio that made this was dissolved into like four others, who would all have to agree to a remaster, and would then have to also convince the company that now holds the licensing rights to make Simpsons games, who would have to get permission from a million other people…. Look, the four companies that own the parking lot near my house can’t even get together to vote on banning homeless huts and panhandlers from the parking lot in front of their shops. If they can’t get together to come to an agreement, there’s no way that everyone needed to get a remake of this game are going to cooperate.
IT kind of is getting a fan remaster. There is a youtuber that is called: Reubs Who is making it in unreal engine and posting the process on YT. Check him out if you just want to fill the empty void a little bit
@@salinium Battle for Bikini Bottom got a straight up remake. It's effectively a new game with the same name. Hit and Run would need to get the same treatment but that's up to whoever holds the rights to the name and whoever holds the rights to make a Simpsons game for it to happen.
Fun fact an absolute LEGEND is remastering the game AND remaking cutscenes as 2D animations to make them look like actuall simpson episodes all while following the simpson creators guide on how to draw the characters!

Love the Re-Glitched idea! You mentioned there are many out of bounds glitches in the game and there's another one in the Boardwalk area of Level 3/6 involving the crates outside Davy Jones Hamper. Can I make one suggestion though? For any asterisk text like the "PC only" and "Barts bedroom" notices, maybe put a box behind them to make sure they can be read easily.
As a speedrunner and a fan of this incredible game I've learned things in your video so thanks you for keeping this game in the heart of people because I don't want to see our childhood game dies
I remember so long ago when I watched the original son of a glitch episode of this and now watching this is bringing back so many good memories of when I would just sit down and watch son of a glitch for hours at a time. I always have loved this series and I love all of your content for that matter. Thanks and I really can't wait to see what comes in the future :)
Another fun thing about the train roof glitch at 9:07 is that standing in a particular spot (next to the pipe I think) causes Bart to go into a T-pose. He'll start doing a falling animation for a few seconds, then T-pose when the animation stops looping. The same glitch exists in Level 5 with Apu on the same map.

8:24 "You're about to see the worst AI driving." Please, I remember people making compilations of Kat's driving from Halo Reach. Sure, the computer repeatedly drives into walls here, but Reach also had explosions and sheer rock walls to plummet off of.

I’ve had Hit and Run on the brain everywhere lately. Started off seeing someone remaking the game in Unreal engine, then playing through it myself, and now, when he was needed most, A+Start returns with this. Fantastic
There's also an out of bounds glitch exclusive to level 7. You know the bridge that's closed off on the way to the power plant area? If you respawn the vehicle next to it you'll appear on the normally inaccessible area and you'll now be able to drive around there. Collision still exists but most of the textures don't
This only works on the console versions, and apart from a small part of the bridge, nothing else is actually solid. There are alternatives which do work on all versions though, one being reversing the Open Wheel Race Car into the barrier and all the way up the invisible wall, then e-brake boosting from the top just enough to clear the respawn trigger. Then there's another console exclusive way to get out of bounds, which is basically just e-brake boosting into a specific part of the power plant and going straight through, but again, this does not work on the PC version 😅

I didn't grow up with this game (The Simpsons were banned by my parents lol) But I seen so many people get nostalgic and have so much fun with this game. The glitches are insane and gave me a good laugh ^_^
i remember when the original video came out, it was one of the first A+Start videos i ever watched. the streetlamp glitch was always my favourite. (the power plant race skip is certainly an honourable mention though)

I remember using the jump cheat with the RC and falling into the DMV.

The Horn Jump cheat in this game is easily some of the most fun I've had as a kid playing games and breaking it in every way possible.
