@davidmays8974 Community colleges, trade schools, technical colleges, and the military are all affordable options. Or you can do gateway programs where you spend two years at a community college and then transfer to a university. Just make sure the class credits that you get are transferable to that specific university. If you go to tech school, don't major as pharm tech. But ultrasound, radiology, phlebotomy, etc. are all good majors. You can do nursing, computer science, engineering, etc. at a tech school, too, and transfer to a 4 year college afterward. If you're super desperate, a shit ton of student loans. You don't need to go to an expensive university to make it in life. Hell, there are a lot of people who rack up debt, don't even get into the field they majored in, and struggle for most of their life paying off debt.
Only at private schools, and even then the majority of students get financial aid. I go to one of the best schools in the state of California and I pay less than 10k per year.

@@davidmays8974 military, tech school, trade school, community College

People getting robbed for eduation in the US 😂😂😂
Only at private schools, and even then the majority of students get financial aid. I go to one of the best schools in the state of California and I pay less than 10k per year.
Top schools like MIT are need-blind so only students whose families can afford it are paying full tuition. And their salary estimates are accurate for their majors. Trust me, these kids and pretty much anyone that gets a degree from a decent school in the US will be fine

My brother in law was a professor at MIT when he couldn't find another job. He left that job and said "it was fun but i was so tired of being poor"
How was he poor? STARTING salary for a full time college professor at MIT is $200-500K depending on their discipline. I’ve heard of professors making even more if they are highly sought after as well.
@MrZachgonz he wasn't even making enough for a small apartment in the late 90s. He lived on campus.

Grateful that the UK has a max price of £9,250 per year for National uni students so for 4 yrs you’re paying £37,000 and for 7 yrs you’re paying £64, 750 maximum (med students) which is nowhere near what these students are paying ANNUALLY.
you are in the UK so it doesn't compare. Their salaries will be much more than yours. And most never even pay that much. Most are on scholarships, grants, and major scholarships and MIT has a $23 Billion endowment to help students pay the rest.
The level of their intellectual capacity has me yearning to go back to school, that's until I heard the tuition price. I know in some cases, certain people can make it back quite quickly and pay off within a few years. I'm just a highly stressful person. I think I'd die from the pressure knowing I'm in that much debt.
I went to MIT and I didn't pay anything for tuition. They paid for food and housing and everything because I was poor lol

So cute that someone who's all about the quantifiable and likes math enough to pursue it frames their happiness as unquantifiable. 🥺
I picked up a degree in cs and linguistics from a university that’s about a notch and a half less prestigious than MIT as far as STEM subjects go, expecting my salary out of college to push 6 figures at the high end. It’s been a year and a half and I still don’t have a full-time job. I really hope this isn’t the market awaiting these kids when they graduate😬

The pervert?
I completed a non-credit, non-residential and online program from MIT, it's called "Math Bootcamp". The passmark was 60%, I scored 61% i.e. barely made it through. How hard was it? Hard as f***! It was so hard that I thought of giving up but just kept going. If this is what an online course is, I dread to imagine how hard a residential program would be at MIT. The online course made me miserable but now that I passed, it feels awesome!
Go get it young ones
Back then I used think the popular people were cool because of how tv/movies portrayed them; however, my mindset changed after realizing how cool smart and knowledgeable people are. Like okay miss ma’am solving that equation that I couldn’t even read
this comment section ain’t itttttt
From MIT website 2024, tuition alone is $59,750/year. But apparently this also includes health insurance at the school. 1st year are required to live on campus, $12,380 additional. All the other bullshit cost put it around $83,000 a year.

"math is so cutie" pls the first one is so cute and i love their energy even if i have no idea what theyre going on about.
The first person said like 4 sentences and seemed to mostly be talking to avoid answering the question tbh. Which means they probably know they’re going to make a lot of money with their major and just didn’t want to seem like a snob only talking about money. But here y’all are getting upset that they seemed to be enjoying their existence instead of wanting to jump off a cliff.

Guys don’t be jealous of these kids they have their own problems. Don’t be down on yourselves either. These kids parents have been pushing them hard since youth. You only get into top schools by maximum effort and if you asked most of them they probably would refer to have a normal highschool experience. Besides some one is paying their debt off if it’s not them it’s their parents. They will not be rich for quite a few more years after highschool.
Most will have no debt and high salaries. The connection alone will almost guarantee their success.
