Okay so i decided to write this comment to help anybody confused on the differences between the 7p (playstation version), 7x (xbox version ) n the regular 7 (pc version). So from what i’ve read across all the comments on the video is that the 7 works for all , the 7x apparently works on all 3 also , and the 7p only works on playstation and pc . The 7p has the mic monitoring or sidetone wheel , now that same wheel on the 7 n 7x versions works instead as a voice chat / game audio wheel , although apparently even if you were to get the 7 version and use it on playstation , the wheel would just do nothing instead of working as a chat/game audio wheel . This is just based off the comments on the video , but hopefully i been able to clear up confusion.
Does the 7x versions chat/game wheel work on PlayStation? or does it still function as the side tone wheel? I might wanna buy the 7 but it depends on that function of that wheel, i need it to work as the chat/game wheel
Just got this headset because of your review. Have had it for a week. All Elden Ring gameplay. After playing, I would stay in the headset to watch a flick and unwind. These NEVER left pressure pain or head pangs. I have a larger head and large ears and these have been great. Sound has been immersive. The ONLY complaint I have is the build of the dial seems a bit on the cheaper side, but it’s simple, and that matters. Came back to leave this comment and listening to your video on the headset, so Bluetooth is I’m working well and the content sounds good.

I bought an Arctis Nova 7P last December and since then I have used it almost every day and I love this headset. I'm French so I didn't understand everything you said in your video but I know that you can change the equalization of the headset by plugging it into a PC and using the SteelSeries GG software. So this headset is really great in a lot of areas. The only negative point that I noticed is that it hurts my right ear a little when I keep it on my head for several hours but it's probably due to my physiology because if I turn it a little It hurts less and I can continue to use it. And what is impressive is the synthetic material they use for the ear cushions which practically does not heat up. So no feeling of boiling ears after several hours of play. I highly recommend it for all Playstation 5, PC and Nintendo Switch owners. Because yes, this headset is compatible with all these platforms. A real banger, these headphones 👌.
I've had these headsets for a month and a half now and didn't even know that the fit can further be adjusted by sliding the earcups in and out of the headbands. Huge thanks for mentioning that in this video. Will try that out once I get time off work. Cheers 🙏🏾

@@SoxXxOwnsU Hi, I had completed the latest update on my Arctis Nova 7P, and side-tone still works as fine as ever. I made a very short video about this on my channel, feel free to watch.
I’d recommend searching up the frequency response for the specific headset and use the graph to analyze hills and valleys of the response. That way you can adjust the eq with better understanding of what sound signature the headsets already have and not distort the audio quality. You could also look up sound settings of each game as well and check the response as well and use both graphs (headset + game frequency responses) and tweak the eq to work best for what you need.

The EQ changes need to be made on PC while the dongle is connected to PC, then you unplug the dongle and plug it into your PS5 and those settings carry over. I don't think a separately purchased gameDAC will allow all features for this headset
I bought the nova pro wireless and experience extreme discomfort due to their ear cups, anyone know if these are more comfy? The difference of the no anc nub + mesh ear c ups seem like its perfect.
Depends what's causing the discomfort? Is it the material or is it the shape of the ear cups? If it's the shape then not much has changed but the fabric ear cups I do find them more comfortable than the leather

I think the one that lets you change audio on the fly, instead of having to connect it to a computer each time, is best. That's the one drawback of 7P+.If neither of them do, get the most cost-effective one. They are amazing either way.
Based on the sound I would give the nova 7p the edge just because it feels like they did some slight tweaking to get the highs to sound more clear, which helps with footsteps and direction of enemies.
I heard that the ear cushions are a few mm deeper than those of Arctis 7P+, is that true? Can you measure that? When they're deeper, I'll get them directly.
You're right, I saw it too. I think our good old Couze was that with the test. I ordered them and they are deeper. What would of course round off the whole thing would be a bit more pleasant thicker fabric inside, because it is much too thin. Otherwise, just a great headset.
Nova 7p imo, owned both. the dual audio feature is a big seller if you're watching to watch a youtube video on your pc the same time as you play a game.

Can you save your own EQ profile to use on the PS5? How many profiles can you save? can you change profiles on the headset or need to plug on the PC to change profiles?
I noticed the PC (Nova 7) and Xbox (Nova 7X) versions have chat volume vs the mic monitoring wheel. I have a PS5, I wonder if it would be better to get the Nova 7 or 7X for that feature vs the mic monitoring scroll wheel on the Nova 7P? I think the other versions still work on the PS5 or am I wrong?
Chat volume don't work on ps5 with 7x, so only 7p with mic monitoring. Different scroll wheel. But 7x has also mic monitorin you can change it in software, 7x is better is you have also a xbox.
I recently got these for the PS5 and although they sound great. The mic is stupid sensitive, it picks up every little sound from my surroundings. The headset is pretty tight around my ears as well and causes them to sweat.
Have you figured out if you can change the mic’s noise cancelling? My previous headset barely picked up anything other than my voice. Now everything that happens around me is hearable to my party chat.

Hello, I have a question. I play on PS5 and I'm needing to get a new headset as my old one (Hyperx Cloud Flights) is getting a bit worn out but I still love them as I've had them since they came out and like how they sound. Anyways for Christmas my mom got me the Razer kaira pros and I really didn't like how they sounded as they sounded so muffled and too bassy, I couldn't pick out footsteps in any game and every game sounded unclear, no matter what PS5 sound or EQ settings I tried. So, I then returned them for the Hyperx Cloud 2 Wireless since I liked the Flights so much but, unfortunately those kind of sounded the same (even trying every setting) and were kinda uncomfortable for me. In all do you think these sound better than those two headsets I had and would they be a good upgrade going from Cloud Flights? Sorry for the long question and thank you for the great review.
My friends hear their own voice since I started using my steelseries nova 7p. How can i fix it? I already lowered the microphone volume and the general volume but I have no solution. When they talk, I have to turn off my microphone so they don't hear themselves. If I don't turn off my microphone, my name appears on the screen as if I were speaking, but it is the echo of their own voices.
Sounds like it’s bleed through from the ear cups. Mine does this too on the 7P for PS5 party chat. You have to lower the standard microphone volume in PS5 and try and keep your volume low as possible
Thanks for the review mate! My biggest question is how do these compare to the Arctis 7p+? Is it worth the extra $30? I'm a PS5 - only gamer and really most concerned with the best 3d soundscape for story games and positioning for FPS. Would you recommend these over the 7P+ or should I save that $30. Thanks, appreciate ya!
I found this helpful th-cam.com/video/NnWTH-mH5y0/w-d-xo.html . Steelseries has a footnote on the Nova 7P product page "Fully compatible with Tempest 3D Audio for PS5 / Microsoft Spatial Sound". Hope that helps.
I was told to get 7x cause they can be used across platform where 7p no xbox. Kinda stupid what they did, i think the only difference is the blue band.
Why does nobody ever test these headsets on WARZONE and Multiplayer games. Those are the most important ones. For allot of people actually using Headsetd. Because Warzone has very shitty sound for Steps and hearing your enemies walk around you. So i need a decent update on that and especially in warzone and NOT multiplayer. Because its warzone where the sound is shit.
I hope u see my comment, i have a big problem with it, it doesnt remove the background noises + i can adjust the settings on gg but i plug it in on the ps5 and theyre gone and i cant find a reason for that
As far as I know the 7 is mainly for PC, 7X is for Xbox and the 7P is for Playstation. I think the 7P has better integration options and fully supports 3D audio compared to the other ones. But I’m not 100% sure.

But when I'm connected to the Ps5 and change the eq settings on the gamedac, the sound doesn't seem to change at all. Do I have to consider or adjust a setting in the Ps5? Do the eq changes need to be made on the pc for the ps5? Does the headset itself have to be connected to the cable for the changes to take effect?
The EQ changes need to be made on PC while the dongle is connected to PC, then you unplug the dongle and plug it into your PS5 and those settings carry over. I don't think a separately purchased gameDAC will allow all features for this headset
Do they sound just as good plugged into ps5 controller? Also are they good for big ears and are the earpads changeable? Thanks mste
@@picsoleated it was definitely the material mixed with the anc nub. The material on the pro wireless was not glasses friendly combined with the clamping force.
Get the Wicked Cusions aftermarket pads, problem solved.
@@TheSMSpider look into wicked cushions, they are now selling replacement ear cups. which answer the fabric and anc issue.
Try the wicked cups, heard they help
Could you give me the best eq settings for warzone ps5 please not sonar settings
Man I like your videos and all the good things you do , could please help me on which gaming headset will you recommend for PS5/FPS games, my budget is between $170-$250, thanks in advance.
EQ Settings for this Headset would be an awesome Video. Hopefully you will do so.
@picsoleated what are the best eq settings for fps games? Can you please make a video like you did for the arctis 7p and 7p+?
i’ve literally been searching up mic to buy.. was gonna do the astro a40 til i came across this wireless one. this seems to be the one hope it all goes well for my ps5!
great video, great review. My only gripe would be you were small echo in your room.
Hello, difference between 7p+ and the nova 7p? Which one should I go for? Thank you!
7P+ has usb c charging, that's the main difference. so it depends if you're willing to save a few bucks getting the 7P or if you need usb c charging
Go for the Nova 7p
@@picsoleated the Arctis 7P vs the Arctis 7P+ the difference is USB-C but the new Nova 7P is a bit better.
@@JuanJohn013 I’m torn between the 7p+ and the novas cuz other than the Bluetooth everyone’s saying different things about the comfort
Can you adjust game chat with these?
Can you turn off the mic monitoring? Nothing I hate more then being able to hear myself. And do we have to come Stanley keep the mic muted if it’s not out of the holder? Gets a horrible screeching sound.
Is there a preset for story-driven, single player games? If so, what is it called?
Do you think it works to watch movies on tv via Bluetooth?
Great headphones but when I talking in chat my voice is coming through the headset so annoying can you turn this off
don't they have an app for all audio settings? GG or something. Search it up. I'm pretty sure you can disable the mic feedback audio there.
The sound is cool I like the dual Bluetooth and Adapter connection at the same time so I can connect to my phone while playing my ps5 but the mic is horrible I made sure to update to the latest firmware but I still pick up white noise and everyone in the game chat mentions how bad my mic sounds I even replaced them and still the same issue also it’s not the best feeling for my ears.
I have the Arctis 7 and now have the Nova 7. I don’t like the mic on the Nova 7 it picks up more background noise
Did you return them?
The mic is the one fatal flaw of the steelseries headsets, hopefully they'll figure it out down the road
@@picsoleated is it a “fatal” flaw though? I’ve heard comparisons that said they’re lacking but it’s not that bad especially when you adjust settings which save to the headset
I am an idiot, I wanted the nova 7P and I just bought the Arctis Nova 7, what is the difference? Can anyone help?
The good news is there's essentially no hardware diifference between the two. So you're good!
I got the nova 7 cuz was on sale in my country and the nova 7P was 50euros more was hoping I did the right choice and that it worked exactly the same as the 7P but so far it works well so far.
@@picsoleated its been a year and the Nova 7Ps (i exchanged them from 7's to 7p's)and they are amazing. i recently also got an XSX and didnt want to buy another headset for it and now im using the aux cable connected to my monitor to check if they work and they do
I am upgrading from the Arctis 7. How good are they for music?
I got the headset and I’m hearing something static/fuzzy noise in it does anyone know how to fix it ? Every time I scroll across the ps5 menu you can hear this buzz noise
If you had to chose between the 7p+ or these, which would you go for?
I‘d like to know as well
This one, it's newer, better sound, and battery is improved, and also wireless
@@BumbleBeeBiH I literally just purchased the 7p+ no more than 15 mins ago 😬. They went down to £105 and couldn’t resist at that price point
@@SaeedSZN good pick given the difference of price between the nova 7p and the arctis 7p
I have the Nova 7P get these
Hey quick question, can you use this headset on ios with just Bluetooth or you have to use the dongle somehow as well?
It can connect to iOS via bluetooth no problem.
I tried out the arctis nova pro wired and they sound like garbage even after trying to eq them. The Nova 7's on the otherhand sound really good and have more bass and I feel like I can hear more details than I could on the pros.
Does not have a game/chat volume button. Only that slider on how much you want to hear your own voice. Who needs to adjust that all the time. Going from game to game or party to party you do want to adjust the volume mix between game and chat. Stupid decision to make that slider for your own voice instead of the party one. Thats the only thing that is holding me back from buying it.
Is anyone getting this buzzing/hissing noise in them ?? It’s so annoying when playing TH-cam and scrolling through the ps5 menu how do you fix it ??
Hello, love your videos, but i have problem to choose between nova 7p and turtle beach 700 gen 2 max, i play on ps5 right now mw2 all day. I need to hear those footsteps and mic monitoring to hear myself, but I don't want to lose good base also. Pls help me
the Nova 7p all day between those two for PS5
@@picsoleated hello again, after i bought those headsets, I didn't like how loose they are and sound is kinda leaking as my ear cannot fully go inside the hole. Also i could hear some mic background sound always, even party members says they hear some background noise before and after i talk, like the sensitivity of thr mic is very high. And you cannot di anything in GG cuz it has very few options... So sad cuz i wanted to lile this headsets, but i can't.
So I have been trying to get the mic to work but it always seems to be tied to my controller mic but the in game sounds are coming from my headset. Long story my voice only seems to be picked up by the controller mic
Which is louder in volume this one or the pulse 3d when plugged on the ps5
These are louder
@@picsoleated i see one last que which is louder pulse 3D or the 7p+ and if you had to choose between 7p+ or the nova which would you go for im about to buy 7p+ or the nova so your reply would really help thanks and more power to your channel im a big fan bro 👊👊
So just noticed that when I use BT to my mobile for discord my in game mic does not work. Very disappointed.
Which is best for FPS the 7p+ or nova 7p?
I think the one that lets you change audio on the fly, instead of having to connect it to a computer each time, is best. That's the one drawback of 7P+.If neither of them do, get the most cost-effective one. They are amazing either way.
Based on the sound I would give the nova 7p the edge just because it feels like they did some slight tweaking to get the highs to sound more clear, which helps with footsteps and direction of enemies.
@@picsoleated What are the best EQ Settings with the Nova 7P for Shooters? Thank you
I heard that the ear cushions are a few mm deeper than those of Arctis 7P+, is that true? Can you measure that? When they're deeper, I'll get them directly.
From a different review I saw I think the nova is 23 mm deep while the 7p+ is 20 mm deep
You're right, I saw it too. I think our good old Couze was that with the test. I ordered them and they are deeper. What would of course round off the whole thing would be a bit more pleasant thicker fabric inside, because it is much too thin. Otherwise, just a great headset.
Just got the headset and after a few days the audio keeps making glitching sounds and it cutting out. Not sure how to fix it
Do I need a pc for this headset ?? I’m just trying to find a really good ps5 headset man
How are they for big ears?
Should i go with arctic 7p+ or arctic nova 7p if i just play on ps5 ?
Nova 7p imo, owned both. the dual audio feature is a big seller if you're watching to watch a youtube video on your pc the same time as you play a game.
@@orange8156 Do you really think so bro? Because I’m about to buy one of them. Also I hope you know everyone appreciates the info people like you give since you owned both, thanks dude.
@@orange8156 Also the Nova 7ps support 3d surround sound audio right?
@@Jinfwjump No worries, Bought them yesterday and i am currently using the nova 7's not the 7p's and they work exactly the same as the p's on playstation and if you're talking about sonys 3d tempest audio yes it does work. They sound great out the box and are VERY comfortable for me.
@@Jinfwjump technically any stereo headset can support the Playstations 3D Audio.
Can you save your own EQ profile to use on the PS5? How many profiles can you save? can you change profiles on the headset or need to plug on the PC to change profiles?
You can only save one EQ profile at a time and it can be used on the ps5. You need to plug it into a computer if you wanted to adjust the EQ profile
@@cachesinthecomments997 thank you... that is very unfortunate hey... i was about to order. Glad i didnt.
Is it worth upgrading from the previous 7P for PS5?
Definitely not
Hi! dude, this Nova 7p or Turtle Beach Stealth 700 gen 2? which one do you recommend and why?
I noticed the PC (Nova 7) and Xbox (Nova 7X) versions have chat volume vs the mic monitoring wheel. I have a PS5, I wonder if it would be better to get the Nova 7 or 7X for that feature vs the mic monitoring scroll wheel on the Nova 7P? I think the other versions still work on the PS5 or am I wrong?
Chat volume don't work on ps5 with 7x, so only 7p with mic monitoring. Different scroll wheel. But 7x has also mic monitorin you can change it in software, 7x is better is you have also a xbox.
@@BumbleBeeBiH Thanks bro 👍
Do they have mic monitoring on ps5?
@@TheAstraeuss I went with the 7p cause I won’t be using it on a Xbox console so why have a wheel that does nothing on PS5?

Should I get these or the ps5 pulse elite
Just got these for Christmas. But I am having issues with background noise etc. any advice how to fix this?
increase the noise gate in the audio settings of whatever game you're playing
I recently got these for the PS5 and although they sound great. The mic is stupid sensitive, it picks up every little sound from my surroundings. The headset is pretty tight around my ears as well and causes them to sweat.
Have you figured out if you can change the mic’s noise cancelling? My previous headset barely picked up anything other than my voice. Now everything that happens around me is hearable to my party chat.
@@nxel.9998 Unfortunately no, I couldn't find a solution to this anywhere.

He man, nice review. One question: does the mute button on the dual sense mute the headset? Thanks
yes
It doesn't
Yes it works
Get the Steelseries Nova 7p, they are way better in general and have more features
@Krystofer Abit late but thanks for the reply😁. Yeah, I got the Nova 7P's about a month ago and love them.
@@Jkru77
Does the mute button on the DS controller work with the Nova 7P, or do you have to push the button on the headset to mute it?
My friends hear their own voice since I started using my steelseries nova 7p. How can i fix it? I already lowered the microphone volume and the general volume but I have no solution.
When they talk, I have to turn off my microphone so they don't hear themselves.
If I don't turn off my microphone, my name appears on the screen as if I were speaking, but it is the echo of their own voices.
Sounds like it’s bleed through from the ear cups. Mine does this too on the 7P for PS5 party chat. You have to lower the standard microphone volume in PS5 and try and keep your volume low as possible
Amazing review ! Thanks
This is not a reply but I basically have the same question. Nova 7p or Arctis 7p+?
I found this helpful th-cam.com/video/NnWTH-mH5y0/w-d-xo.html . Steelseries has a footnote on the Nova 7P product page "Fully compatible with Tempest 3D Audio for PS5 / Microsoft Spatial Sound". Hope that helps.
I have the 7p+ using them on PS5 and to me they are literally perfect in every way imaginable.
I was told to get 7x cause they can be used across platform where 7p no xbox. Kinda stupid what they did, i think the only difference is the blue band.
@@bigshoots1181 really?
Why does nobody ever test these headsets on WARZONE and Multiplayer games. Those are the most important ones. For allot of people actually using Headsetd. Because Warzone has very shitty sound for Steps and hearing your enemies walk around you. So i need a decent update on that and especially in warzone and NOT multiplayer. Because its warzone where the sound is shit.

@@AtoniXx 7x works for all consoles including all Xbox consoles. 7 and 7P does not
