Plus, as if these headphones weren’t comfortable enough already, the Wicked Cushions add even more comfort with their cooling gel, as well as adding better audio with their passive noise cancellation locking in even more sound. All in all, makes these headphones even better than they already are!!

Hi! Just to mention that the advised/mentioned 7X is working all platforms true, but the chatmix function works only on Xbox. I guess that this same limitation occurs on each model, as I understood that the chatmix feature requires a special hardware.
I have been watching headset reviews and wasting my time for the last 2 weeks and still couldn't make my mind up. This video convinced me to get these and early impressions - I was pleasantly surprised. This thing beats even the Jabra 2Evovle75 which goes for twice the price. This is much easier, cheaper and better value. Thank you for a solid honest review.
I'm in the same boat I'm trying to find a new headset and I'm looking to make a considerable upgrade. I currently have the super cheap ps4 turtle beaches I got when I got my ps4 in 2017. It's not even wireless. I don't have access to a pc with windows or anything to be able to do updates or make adjustments so thats been my biggest turn away from a lot of headsets
I've recently bought the Steelseries Arctis Nova 7X due to it's multi-platform connectivity, the fact that it has a dongle ánd an aux cable for wired use and mostly, because of many experienced people saying it's a good headset. Sadly for me, mine has some issues and I don't know how to fix them (yet). Firstly, when I record a video on my PS5 and watch it back later, (EA FC 24) my voice sounds a bit elektronic during random moments every several sentences despite me lowering the mic volume to 50% or so because of the max mic level being too loud and my voice then making the mic pop. I haven't heard the many, many tech youtubers I watched mention this problem at all. The mic also doesn't sound like a 150 dollar headset level mic but more like a budget headset's mic. I've also used the Steelseries GG app's engine to adjust the settings, including the mic, to make them better based on tech youtubers' tips. The headset also occasionally loses connection with the dongle whether I use the extension cord with it or the dongle on it's own despite the fact that I'm only a couple of meter away from the dongle. My brother has the same headset and we use ours simultanuously on PS5 to make video's for ourselves and he has more of a static hiss when his headset is on while I experience more of a robot voice during every few words used in every few sentences. Does anyone have any useful solutions to maybe help make this headset worth it's cost?
Now that is worrisome. Every YT review I've seen it's old. So they bought the first batch. What if something changed with the latest production and aren't been made the same. I was currently looking at them. And it wouldn't be the first time a tech product changes manufacturing halfway it's life. Without any name change or anything. Has there been any fix on the last 2 months? It's not a cheap headset. I'm worried about spending that much.
@@Omizuke As far as I know, there has not been any fix for the problem. I've had a bit more time to experiment and nothing's changed since. The somewhat electronic-sounding voice is not there when you use the 3.5 mm cable but it means you can't use bluetooth or the dongle at the same time as using the 3.5 mm cable. Using it with dogle means you can use simultanious bluetooth. I've also noticed that the volume of sound being output through the headset's mic when using the dongle is much softer (3x as soft) as by using the direct input through the 3.5 mm cable. I've e-mailed the manufactorer and they said it sounds like I've got a somewhat faulty Steelseries Arctis Nova 7X and to send it for repair but then again, my brother has the exact same one and has some issues with it as well such as hearing more of a buzz when connected to a PS5 controller through the included 3.5 mm cable, the mic being quite sensitive to breathing noises (mine is too) etc. On the other hand, couch-co-op, which we use it for, is quite the unique setup compared to how most reviewers have used it and on pc, more of the headset's good highlights could come out. Based on how I use it, I would advise you not to buy this one (yet). Sorry about the long answer but I guess it's better to be well-informed than to be left with many questions.
I've bought it. The earpad is too shallow for me. My ear can touch the bottom... Also it's a bit small, not so comfortable for big head. The sound quality is pretty good and latency is negligible.
@jjplays3156 love them, amazing piece and a worthy upgrade. They don't sound great out of the box, but using the engine eq I made them sound like the 7s music preset and the new drivers really shine with the noticeable base compared to the old drives. Button layout is gonna be weird at first till you break the 7s habit but for the better, no more accidental dial turns. And if you get them, don't be afraid to put some force when putting in the charging cable and polling it out, I also recommend going all the way to 0% aka shutdowns on the first use. Maybe read up on how lithium batteries degrade overtime. And lastly, the headband is PEAK comfortable, screw that old, over the top, underneath 7s one that gets stretched.
I've read that I should buy a headset that are marketed for music and not gaming. I've read that, the sound quality on "music headphones" is better and that they're potentially going to be a better build for a better price.
I’m actually considering these JUST for the dongle alone besides the other features and good build quality. I don’t want to plug/unplug a 3 inch transmitter everyday W couple times a day with my laptop or accidentally snap it off. This dongle would fit snug against the laptop so it could be left plugged in.
Great review bro! I've had the Nova 7s for a month now and it's starting to seem like the hinge where the earcups meet the headband are getting loose. For example when you extended the headbands at 4:53, you can see the hinge widen/flex a little bit. I noticed that that's a pretty common breaking point for the Arctis Nova Pro/7s. What is your experience on this after 6 months?
I haven’t seen or felt anything loosen or get worn over time. I can seen were it may eventually wear out if you were to use these everyday for years. But I wouldn’t worry about it, the hinge is holding up well. 👍 Thanks for watching.
I had this breaking point happen on my OG Arctis 7 Wireless. They lasted roughly 3.7 Years before it actually cracked fully through and went (Still works with duct tape)

8:00 Wow, I was sold on the headphones up until this point - forcing you to give up both USB slots is really bad. Have they made any updated models with a different dongle?
My mic picks up the most quietest noises and has a muffled sound penetrating through that is loud within gameplay . I always have others telling me to turn it off and that it’s a cheap mic. How can I fix this issue .
Add "Mic Test" to your titles for headsets. I don't often look for content like this and I'm not audio expert but my concern is trying to sound as good as I can for my budget in discord calls atm cause frens. Thanks for the comprehensive video!
Steelseries is top . I bought my previous wired headset from steelseries , the Siberia v2 , and it almost lasted 8 years on heavy usage. And only the cable and sound control started to malfunction. The sound was amazing. Now i have a Nova 7 wireless and it's just awesome. I tried a JBL and that was garbage.
Maybe a dumb question, but can you connect them to PC via bluetooth? My laptop doesn’t have a USB-C port but there is a USB-A to USB-C adapter coming with the headset, right? Just want to be completely sure when buying it, it still ain’t exactly cheap…
Would not recommend buying ever again, it Breaks at the earpiece connection after a year, even the new Nova version with the new design breaks. They are so comfy and I loved them, but its frustratig that they break every time... time to find a better one...
My main way of playing is PC. I want to buy a white headset and them being white is a must for me. Unfortunately the Arctis Nova 7 does not come in white, only the 7x and 7p. I am wondering is there a real benefit for buying the 7 for pc over 7x? Would I be missing out on quality on my PC if I bought the Arctis Nova 7x vs Arctis Nova 7? To reiterate, I know they are both compatible with both, but do they actually work better for their indented platform?
Good informative review I appreciate it! Did you have to replace the battery at all? This is my only worry, IF and WHEN I'll need a battery, might be a hassle to get one..
Would it be possible to connect the Dongle to a Desktop PC for Gaming and such and then connect the Bluetooth to a Laptop?? Or is bluetooth only limited to Phones and Tablets?
what is the exact depth of the ear cup? you can’t return headsets where i am from so i can’t try these but i want them. my current headphones are too shallow at 0.75 inch depth
Thank you for your honest review, I have the corsair virtuoso and my head hurts after 20-30 minutes of using it, I see this headset looks lighweigth do you have this issue while using it?
So if I understand correctly, these headphones do have properly working game / chat balance control for PC? Its just for PS and XBOX that dont work? For PC just plug in the dongle and you are good to go, right?
Hey, in ergonomics its the same than arctis pro wireless ? Because i juste returned the arctis pro wireless because I feel a strong pressure around the ear because of the pads ansd its impossible to use it more than 1hour :( But i need a steelseries headset bacause i wanna use only 1 application for my mouse/headset ! Idk i u understant my answer and sry for my english :( thx a lot for this vidéo ! (i already tried to change the earpad for the arctis pro but still gendering for long session game)
I’m just confused with why I have to have the dongle attached to my zbox with the long cable like what am I supposed to do with the extra 5ft I don’t need any slack I wish it was just a chip you plug into your Xbox like hyperx
Great comprehensive review. I've been trying to figure out why the volume seems so low. My buddy has the nova pro, and told me about a volume limiter. Does that change that setting in general, or only for the PC?
Could you test these by using the adaper for the dongle and then without by plugging it directly to the ps5 usb c port. I have rig 600 pro which is also budget friendy and they sound much better without the adapter.
Great review dude , i have one question about dongle , if its usb-c how do you plug it in your PC?, maybe im stupid or something but that is my only concern about them.
Does this still have the same issue where the sound in one of the speakers like dies out but when you move the volume wheel it goes back on, had this issue with the arctis 7😊
@@wrteyrtui I got the H9 , it sounds FANTASTIC , Noise Cancellation is aitt since I have XM4 , the comforts its good but its kinda HOT so I sweat alot im not sure about the Arctis but I heard its more to a harsh highs .. while the H9 sounds better than my old Sony XM3
Recently got it and it works great. But now it won’t turn on and it’s only been a few days. Light comes on when it’s charging but when I go to turn em on it won’t power up
You can use the cable to put the dongle in, it still sucks but it does not block anything if you use that cable extension. Still stupid why its not just a usb a rectangle shaped like any other xbox dongle
Hey how you doing, so i currently have a pair of steelseries 7p+ and im looking for an upgrade/change I mostly play call of duty and currently have the Hyperx cloud 2 wireless Corsair hs80 And steelseries artic nova 7p wireless In my cart Which one do you consider as an upgrade and a recommendation
Buying these today to replace my Arctis Pro Wireless cups - tbh, I constantly forget to swap my batteries, so they keep discharging mid-call XD Also, I need a compact receiver and re-plugging that brick from the Pro Wireless between my laptop at work and my desktop at home just won't cut it. So yeah, thanks for your review, very excited!
Looking for simple - plug the dongle either to ps5 or pc and play headset. I had maxwell but returned them due to high clamping force and pleather pads. i could hear my own heartbeat it was unpleasant. Are these or something esle more breathable for long hours ?
If I have no issues with steelseriesarctis 1 headphones (theyre comfortable and sound quality is ok) will I like arctis nova 7? The main reason I want to upgrade is because steelseries 1 is currently only device I still have that has crappy micro usb. I want to get rid of that for good and have everything on usb c. I hope nova 7 has better sound quality than steelseries 1 though. Steelseries 1 doesnt have bad sound quality, its just average, not great but not bad either but I would prefer something with little better sound quality.
I have tested many headsets and for me until today no1 beat steelseries Elite not for design but the sound quality, drivers and earcups...i remember that my friends ask me how can i listen footsteps much before they heard they ask me if i was using hacks... elite realy had a good sound quality, if you check the specs they are realy high level... they came in sequence after siberia v2 and v3 they was expensive for those days
Needed new headphones as my CORSAIR - VIRTUOSO SE Wireless ear cups broke off and I can't find replacements at the moment (plus the battery life is poop now) (I mean they were bought in 2021) Got these on amazon prime day today for 140.00 unfortunately, I did not see this video until AFTER I bought them so I couldn't use your affiliate link. :(
Do you get two audio outputs like one for discord (chat) and then another for gaming so if you clip your gameplay you won’t hear your friends talking in the background??
Nice review. Before i started watching your review i was wondering about the dongle and if it would block the USB port. For me it does not make sense how you can design and releasing a headset specifically designed for PS5 and miss that mark on a such important aspect. Well regardless i was glad i watched because i was just about to order it so thnx again.
Hi Tomas! Thanks a lot for your video, give much information. i'm not decide yet if buy the Steelseries Arctis Nova 7X or Razer BlackShark V2 PRO 2023 Edition. Can you describe the sound quality, build, materials and software of the headset today still work good? Have you a new problem in the last time? I wait your answer for take a decition. Regards from Argentina! (Sorry for my bad english)
How do you stop the damn beeping as if it was not in range of the wireless dongle? Im less than 3 feet from the dongle but every 20-30 mins, audio will cut out and it will beep every few seconds like its dysnc'd or as if i walked out of range.
I dont think you should necessarily get a steelseries headset, their mainly made for gaming so song quality might not be as good as headphones that are made for music
Fantastic review bro, the dongle is really a pain in the ass, I had that with my arctis 1 too and it gets worse when the laptop gets real hot and starts to interfere in the dongle. Guess I'll go for the 7x too.
I think the main thing is the chat thing for the 7p that works only on ps but if you’re debating between the 7x and the 7 the 7x would be a better purchase that can be used for all platforms, honestly idk why the 7 exists if the 7x is compatible with everything
I was using Arctis 9 but yesterday it suddenly bricked. Even its fully charged it wont connect to dongle and turns off after flashing one red blink. I consider to buy Nova 7 instead but still not sure if its worth to buy this after Artics 9?
Does anyone know if I should get these instead of the nova pros? I do like sound cancelling and I have the cash but I’ve seen some reviews saying sound isn’t best on the pros
Why do you think they put a port there? For you to not use it? That being said you can use the port that's blocked with the usb extender cable that comes with the headphones and plug the dongle in to it instead of the C port.
@@vongregor1i have the rig 600 pro which are budget friendly. I've noticed that they sound much better when plugging the dongle directly to my ps5 usb c port vs using the adapter. Not sure if this is an issue with other headsets.
Please help. Just got the model. The mute button seems to be enabling transparency mode but at the same time turning on the mic. If I want to turn off transparency mode I also mute the mic ! I can't see anywhere in steeleseries app anything about disabling this shit !
@@TomasVillegas thanks for response but I figured it out. The right slider on the headphones is for adjustment of this transparent setting. I had it on max.
Being that these can also connect to your phone via Bluetooth, would I also be able to connect these to my Fire Tv or smart tv? I’d love to find one pair of headphones that I can use for gaming and movies. Now, granted, I completely understand that my Xbox Series X can also stream Netflix and other entertainment apps, but I was just.curious if it could also work with my Fire Tv. Thanks!
If your TV accepts Bluetooth then there's no reason they couldn't work. I know that any of my Bluetooth earbuds/headphones work with my LG C1. Cheaper TVs typically don't have a Bluetooth option though.
i recently bought these like less than a week ago, does anyone know why i sometimes hear static noises? & someone told me they also sometimes hear static noises from my mic
Looking for a good headset for my son's birthday. I know there is no designated headset for Switch. Would you recommend this headset to work wireless with Switch?
My son who is 10 plays Fortnite. I am not too keen for him to be close to a screen for a long time. Happy for him to screen to a TV and play. Hence the recommendation for s wireless headset.

Now is this good for moving the head?
Would not recommend buying ever again, it Breaks at the earpiece connection after a year, even the new Nova version with the new design breaks. They are so comfy and I loved them, but its frustratig that they break every time... time to find a better one...
Sorry to hear that, mine are still working with no issues to share.
Would I be able to listen to music from my phone and audio from my PlayStation simultaneously on these headphones?
Thanks
Haven’t had any battery issues. Headset still going strong. Thanks for the feedback 🤝
Would it be possible to connect the Dongle to a Desktop PC for Gaming and such and then connect the Bluetooth to a Laptop?? Or is bluetooth only limited to Phones and Tablets?
I have the Arctis pro wireless but the cushions are broken and im buying new cushions or this headset but don’t know what to do any advice
what is the exact depth of the ear cup? you can’t return headsets where i am from so i can’t try these but i want them. my current headphones are too shallow at 0.75 inch depth
Thank you for your honest review, I have the corsair virtuoso and my head hurts after 20-30 minutes of using it, I see this headset looks lighweigth do you have this issue while using it?
It’s probably one of the most comfortable headsets I’ve used. Especially when compared to those. 👍
So if I understand correctly, these headphones do have properly working game / chat balance control for PC? Its just for PS and XBOX that dont work? For PC just plug in the dongle and you are good to go, right?
Correct. Running their GG app gives you a tone of features and customization options.
And dongles will allow you to use the headphones as normal.
and now they have WHITE VERSION!!!! love it so much!!!!
👊
🤨
Does it have a delay when using the dongle on mobile? I want to buy it for work, PC and Mobile gaming. Thank you in advance
Having problems with the razer kaira pro looking at different options dont know hpw these stack up against the kaira pros
good thing you highlights the compatibility part because people would blindly buy those and not paying attention to model mame
Does that change that setting in general, or only for the PC?
is pro better than this ?
@@SSH01yes, people say the wired nova pro is the best for console gaming. If you’re using a pc then nova pro wireless is a good choice
Im looking for headphones which filter out sounds of other people in the same room making zoom calls.
Are these good for the task?
For the dongke couldnt you just use it from the controllers C? I found it pretty weird you put it on your console
Could you test these by using the adaper for the dongle and then without by plugging it directly to the ps5 usb c port. I have rig 600 pro which is also budget friendy and they sound much better without the adapter.
Please and thank you for your time.
Great review dude , i have one question about dongle , if its usb-c how do you plug it in your PC?, maybe im stupid or something but that is my only concern about them.
PCs usually have USB-C. If not, you’ll have to use a dongle there too.
Does this still have the same issue where the sound in one of the speakers like dies out but when you move the volume wheel it goes back on, had this issue with the arctis 7😊
I have hissing on right cup at 2.4ghz pretty low tho but I hear it.
Nicely done T!
Appreciate it bro, thank you 🤝
Which one's better in terms of Sound Quality .. Inzone H7/H9 ? or THIS ?
Im in dilemma right now
Which one did you get? I'm trying to decide between the same two headsets
@@wrteyrtui I got the H9 , it sounds FANTASTIC , Noise Cancellation is aitt since I have XM4 , the comforts its good but its kinda HOT so I sweat alot
im not sure about the Arctis but I heard its more to a harsh highs .. while the H9 sounds better than my old Sony XM3
Recently got it and it works great. But now it won’t turn on and it’s only been a few days. Light comes on when it’s charging but when I go to turn em on it won’t power up
Try turning them on while they are plugged in.
You can use the cable to put the dongle in, it still sucks but it does not block anything if you use that cable extension. Still stupid why its not just a usb a rectangle shaped like any other xbox dongle
Can you pause/play videos from the headset directly?
Do these work with PS4 Pro Slim?
I have them pending pick-up from facebook marketplace.
Do i really need the gg app mentioned? Am on PS4.
I have these . The sound is ok but the flashing Bluetooth light is too bright in a dark room. I needed to put bluetack over the lights.
Hey how you doing, so i currently have a pair of steelseries 7p+ and im looking for an upgrade/change
I mostly play call of duty and currently have the
Hyperx cloud 2 wireless
Corsair hs80
And steelseries artic nova 7p wireless
In my cart
Which one do you consider as an upgrade and a recommendation
Haven’t used the others you named. The 7P are a solid pair of headphones. 👍
how good does this headset hold up today? also is it Discord compatible?
Solid replacement choice.
Thanks for watching and commenting 🤝
can you connect to the pc without the dongle>?
\
Just bought them yesterday , but my feedback online gaming saying they hear nothing but static noise, what can I do ? Is on a ps5
If the battery goes totally drained, would the USB-C (say to PC/laptop) work?
Same for the 3.5 mm jack?
Yes
2:46 Pretty sure it's a USB A to USB C extension cable.
Do you get two audio outputs like one for discord (chat) and then another for gaming so if you clip your gameplay you won’t hear your friends talking in the background??
Yeah you good do that with the sonar function
Hello! This or the g535 logitech wireless? Thanks
You like these or the Inzone H7 for ps5 more? Both are around the same price right now.
H7 for PS5 for sure.
My buddy sold me his d4 steel serie headset n I’m hyped I just bought the razor barracuda x n that headset one my fav headset til I get my nova 7
really great review video... you hit all the issues I wanted to learn about!
Appreciate the feedback, thank you. 🤝
Man I like ur review! I enjoy it a lot! Very down to earth
Thank you for the compliment 🤝
is the software fire and forget? or do i have to keep it installed for the headphones to work...
Glad this helped your purchase decision 👍
It’s still working great. Still one of my favorite headsets 👍
Can you use a USB adapter on the new Xbox series X to make 1 USB slot into 3 ???
How do you stop the damn beeping as if it was not in range of the wireless dongle? Im less than 3 feet from the dongle but every 20-30 mins, audio will cut out and it will beep every few seconds like its dysnc'd or as if i walked out of range.
That definitely sounds like you need to reach out to their support. Doesn’t sound normal. 👍
Can u turn on noise cancelling on and off. And can you skip songs using the headset
Thanks for watching and for the comment 🤝
but why would you but eh Nova 7 or the Nova 7P? Do any of them have any benefit against the 7X that are compatible with any device?
I think the main thing is the chat thing for the 7p that works only on ps but if you’re debating between the 7x and the 7 the 7x would be a better purchase that can be used for all platforms, honestly idk why the 7 exists if the 7x is compatible with everything
@@-Louis Yeah i got the 7x, i wasnt sure why the 7 existed either but happy with my purchase :3
Bungie is selling these for 250. Seeing how the 150 price you mentioned was steep already, how do you feel about that price hike?
I’d say go to the source the because Bungie is on drugs for pricing them that high. 😂
can i use these wirelessly in playstation 4 without the dongle?
Any idea how I can turn off hearing my voice through the mic? Or is this just something that comes from the factory?
Is this the thing that is called passive noise isolation?
You’ll want to turn off sidetone 👍
I was using Arctis 9 but yesterday it suddenly bricked. Even its fully charged it wont connect to dongle and turns off after flashing one red blink. I consider to buy Nova 7 instead but still not sure if its worth to buy this after Artics 9?
did you try the reset button under the earmuff
Nova 7P OR Hyperx cloud 3 wireless? For ps5
My USB-C port has bad placement on my PC.
Can I keep the Dongel in the USB-A to USB-C cable?
Yes you can 👍
Do you still prefer the arctis pro over the nova 7x to this day? I'm thinking about purchasing the pros
Yes. The Arctis Pro Wireless are better in my opinion.
Does anyone know if I should get these instead of the nova pros? I do like sound cancelling and I have the cash but I’ve seen some reviews saying sound isn’t best on the pros
The dongle does the same on my pc, blocks up the usb port while its plugged in to usb c
One of the worst dongles 😅
This or the hyper x Cloud Alpha?
nova 7 or nova pro 100%
What are you needing to use the port for? There are ports on the back, as well. Not a big deal, imo
Right over your head
I don't have that issue. Best bet it to reach out to their support.
@@TomasVillegas thanks for response but I figured it out. The right slider on the headphones is for adjustment of this transparent setting. I had it on max.
I cant connect this headphones to GG app what i should do?
These are far too expensive for a switch.
There’s a bunch of other more affordable options out there for a Switch. 👍
@@TomasVillegas Thank you for your reply. Would you be able to recommend some please? Unfortunately not brand is being sold in NZ. ☹
My son who is 10 plays Fortnite. I am not too keen for him to be close to a screen for a long time. Happy for him to screen to a TV and play. Hence the recommendation for s wireless headset.
im play shooting games on pc
its worth or logitech?
Is it better than the pulse elite for ps5 use only?
I think these are way better having used both.
