My elite sound amazing. I did not realize how much i was missing!! I like my steel series as well, but wow, im really liking the sound of the elites. I have zero connection issues.
Bro I so issues
It breaks easy too
Do you have ps5 slim?
Techne!! I always follow your recommendation. Will really help if you can provide an eq setting for the Pulse Elite on PS5.
Ok, so what frequencies to lift for R6S steps? My tests has me lifting between 160 and 250 in equalizer apo 15 band eq as that's the only where I think I notice any difference. Though first time I thought I did somewhere higher, but haven't again, I may just have done something wrong in testing that made me do some change that hid the change. Thanks in advance regardless of answer or lack thereof and apologies for the off topic.
Got the pulse elite based in part on reviews like this. Had some troubles out of the box, but a software update after connecting to a PS5 solved most of them. Only remaining issue is the signal from the usb dongle doesn't carry through my desk, so I had to run a usb extender from my tower under the desk up on top. Once that was done, yeah, it's great. Particularly like that it can run sound simultaneous from both the dongle and a bluetooth connection, letting me get game music from the ps5 or pc and calls or music from my phone at the same time. The microphone's also a big step up from my previous, cheaper headsets. Overall these were easily worth the asking price for me... but I already have a ps5, which I don't really recommend. Before the software update I had both connection dropping and ticking sound issues using the usb dongle on pc, and I don't know if you can update the software without a ps5 to plug it into. I suppose you could use them just bluetooth, that worked fine out of the box, but you're giving up some of the selling point features that way. Anyway, yeah, if you have a ps5 these are actually pretty great, but if you don't maybe try those Nova 7s. That red color model looks real nice, definitely the better looking headset.
What about the audio balance? Is it grayed out?
Could you also compare the pulse elite vs the Inzone H5? They're both about 149 euro's and ai mic noise reduction etc. I wonder what you think of the H5 aswell that got released dec 2023. Kind regards, and thanks in advance :)
Can i connect any bluetooth heaphone to the playstation portal, which has a usb adapter connected to the ps 5?
Which Headset would you recommend the HyperX Cloud Alpha Wireless or the Arctis Nova 7? I want to buy one of those but I can't decide which one and I can't find a detailed comparison so I would like to hear your opinion on this.
I have bought the pulse elite and my previous headset was pulse 3D. the cushions are much comfier than pulse 3D but still made me tired. long story short, I have returned them because the sound was unbelievable flat, even for me. because bass doesn't matter much to me. I have tweak the EQ but nothing change. I have bought nova 7P two days ago and I am very satisfied. the Ear cushions are very very very comfortable and the sound quality is superb. The only problem is that it isn't full compatible with PS5 and can't adjust chat balance and EQ on PS5. but does not matter
Can’t wait for wicked cushions 👍🏻
Literally the 2 headsets I’m debating
I have Artis 7P+ as my current and got the original pulse at launch of the PS5
But I mainly want ANC n Bluetooth
Yea,Same here.I have the orig Pulse 3D,But want to get the Elite OR the Arctis 7P+,Yet can't make up my mind either!I wish I could hear them both in-store like they used too back n the day!I've never heard planar drivers-YET.
@@Boss80gb I have the original pulse too n then got the artis 7p+ , which is better but I want to be a tad bit more up to date with my headset
Got any answer? I'm still choosing between elite and 7p+ 😂
@@Nether95 I’m not in the market for a headset anymore
Still gonna rock my 7P+ , I mainly want the Bluetooth feature tbh
Techne i love your videos. It's time to change my Astro A40 and I'm struggling, I play only in PS5 (mainly warzone with some torunaments) I'm torn beetween pulse elite and arctis nova pro, what do you think is the best choices?
Both are great. I think price is the best indicator. If u can afford pros then I’d go with them. If not elites are way better than their price range
What I really want to know is how to mute in game voice chat when I take a phone call over Bluetooth? When I try to mute on controller, it mute headset and vice versa.. on my steel series, I can mute sounds and voice chat and still able to talk on over Bluetooth phone calls but I can't do that on the pulse elite.. anyone knows how to do that if there is a way?
There is (or was at least) an option to deactivate voice chat in game. This should at least work for game chat, party chat is a different story.
Man had us in the first half when he grabbed out that saw for the earpads lol
LOL
Lmaooo right!I was like what is he gonna do with those!?😵💫😵😭
Unrelated, have you seen the white stripes under black pool lights ?
Amazing show !
Hey Techne love your channel man. Simply the most pationed audiofile in TH-cam. Do you have a good eq for the Nova 7p to use in the ps5?
the red steel series nova is this the limited version? how about SteelSeries Arctis Nova 7p vs Corsair HS80 Max which is the best among this two gaming headsets in terms of quality sounds and microphone?
its not really about comparaison like he mention you want planar at an reasonable price you get the Elite , comparison are just meat to see if indeed is a good product but yeah Planar are so different that why not go for it :)
How can I use the SteelSeries Arctis Nova 7p headset with my PS5? By the way, what's the difference between the Nova 7p and 7p+? Thank you for your informative video. 🤔
between 7p and 7p+ there's just a battery difference
What screws do you use?
I’m curious about how these compare to the Turtle Beach Stealth Pro
I did the same exact comparison and chose the Elite's over the SteelSeries for PS5 headsets. I was blown away by how much better the Elite's sound quality was. I will admit the SteelSteries are more comfy, but for the most part, comfortability isn't as noticeable when in the heat of your games. The Elites simply sound better and obviously play much better with the PS5 and give you the ability to take advantage of the features such as EQ and such.
I have both. First i bought the Pulse Elite and these are really good and have much better clarity than the Pulse 3D. The problem for me, is that it is lacking a bit of the bass and the Oompf sound, if that makes sense. The Arctis Nova 7P sound even a tiny bit more clearer, but have that nice bass without that it overpowers the overall clarity of the 3d sound. You do need to set it to the smiley setting in the equalizer. Out of the box they are good, but not great until you make the EQ adjustments. So for the same price point, the Nova 7P is the winner in my opinion
Pulse elite is good but for me i can never hear foot steps that good for some reason compared to my Astro a40s.
What EQ smiley are you referring to? I have the Elite and I am thinking of getting 7x bc I'm on PC. I have access to a PS5 but not all the time.
Can you connect the arctis nova to the ps portal as well?
Came from the nova 7 and they didn’t sound clearer but to each their own 🤷🏽♂️😆
I got the pulse elite but they really have absolutely no bass. Everything else is great, clarity and no lag. But I need bass. Returned them next day. I'm waiting to see if I can test some other headsets. I need bone crunching bass man.
Do you use a dongle with the PULSE Elites or do they connect directly to the PS5?
dongle on ps5 and directly to the portal
Hi Techne. I am looking for my first pair of gaming headset and I don't want to spend too much. I am looking at either the Steelseries Arctis Nova 1X or the Razer Kaira X. Which should I get?
I would go kaira x
@@TheTechne Thanks! I didn't think you would reply for some reason lol. Guess you're not like those other TH-camrs that stop caring when they gain popularity. This is why I love your content!
Also, could you tell me the reasons you picked the Kairas? I was going more towards the Novas because they look less like a gaming headset so I can use them more on the go. You don't have to answer if you can't. Sorry for the inconvenience lol.
Black 50 dollar razers are perfect for games. Save money by and go wired. I collect headsets because I'm a brainwashed musician
You can boost the base in the Novas to rumble in the EQ if you want. I love base, and this has it, I had to lower the base down .
I would like to know what Eq settings you put. And how did you put bass?
I’m talking about the nova pro!
When I’m in game I cannot adjust the chat audio/ game audio it’s just grey how do I adjust that ?
3:57 stinkin cozy! ❤
I had the steel series nova 7 (Xbox version) and had no interest in anything else… until the Pulse Elite came out and I couldn’t resist. I would say I love them both equally though - the Elites will be my mains for PS5 but will Nova 7’s will be my go to for everything else.
We have gaming PC's, upper mid range systems. And a PS5 at another house so eq and mic mix will be a pain for our Elites. Thinking of getting a 7x as well. I think the Elites have to be EQ'd slightly up for bass, down for treble and the 7x EQ'd slightly down for bass to achieve neutrality for clarity. But then the Elites have to be volumed down from bass distortion in some use cases. Do you find these observations to be true?
@@TheModeRed I have left the 7x levels the same out of the box and found them to be fine as all-rounders. The Elites do need to bass up a little bit I find, but it’s kind of a personal preference thing I reckon.
I’ve tried the Elite Headset and I’ve noticed a high pitch ringing noise when navigating any type of menu that has no sound. I’ve already replaced them and I’m still getting the noise.
Same here, bunch of others with the same issue according to Reddit.
Have you tried muting the mic, I know my old playstation gold headset had the same issue unless the mic was muted
@@joshohanlon1085 yes I’ve tried both with the mic muted and without (couple hours spent on each)
@@SamCyaL8R damn ok so its just an issue they have, I was tempted to get a pair but seeing how many people are having issues its kinda putting me off
@@joshohanlon1085 if you’re still interested in them, be on the lookout for a software update. That could be the issue. But I’m still going to return this second pair, ima stick with my apple earbuds
All the frequency response charts I've seen say the Elites should technically have more bass and treble than the Penrose. Is this true?
Nope, I've been testing elites vs nova 7p, the elites have very little even after EQ adjusting
I sent my elite back, I don’t live alone and when I whisper I have a very low sidetone (I placed the sidetone at its max) coming back in my headset. Can’t turn on or off the noise canceling from the mic and so when I speak with a lower voice it cancels some of the words I say. Imma place my order for the Nova 7P. With the Arctic 5 I had a great experience for my needs.
Returned mine this morning. Went through two sets in 4 days. Bad connection drops and other wouldn’t connect
I also wish the sidetone would be slightly louder, i have it on max too. Most of these problems they can fix with a patch/firmware updates though.
Ps menu literally has a mic sensitivity slider set it to be more sensitive and it won't cut words off I had same with og pulse 3d headset.
@@jjadey1752 that actually the first thing I did… so disappointed by Sony this time
Pulse Elite dropped 3 out of 4 tries. Performed all troubleshooting steps , still dropped. Returned it shame as the mic was really solid. Went with 7x so far so good. I had some issues connecting on Mac but was able to update headset. Learning curve I suppose. 7x mic is a little goofy. High static when setting input volume on ps5, silent when in use outside of that menu. Couple more trials runs before I pull the plug on the wicked cushions.
Love the pulse elite. I’d like a bit more sidetone though. Not quite enough for me. Look forward to wicked cushions for it
This is a very fair criticism.
The sidetone quality is also very poor. Sounds very harsh and not like my own voice. Coming from the Arctic 7p+ it's a deal breaker for me
@@Jdb63 I wish I cared about sidetone that much but 9 times out of 10 it's completely off because I want to hear the game.
@@SkySoFew I have no issue hearing the game with Sidetone on. You can adjust it to your preferred level. I can't stand talking while having my ears plugged. Feels very unnatural
@@Jdb63 To each their own.
Is the nova 7 worth the upgrade from the nova 3 on ps5 wired
No, loses connection quickly.
Ok, now that I know the ear pads are removable on the Elites I'm definitely ordering them.
Returned my second pulse elite set today in 4 days and went back to steel series.
Both had connections issues.
My front USB slot on my PS5 is faulty it kept disconnecting constantly, behind the ps5 usb slots it worked better but it made weird crack sound at times like it was almost losing connection but didn't. I had USB hub or whatever it's called that has separate power and i plugged that behind my PS5 and plugged my pulse elite playstation link to that hub and been working perfectly since then.
Skill issue.
Connection issues and mic is not clear
the mic is the clearest i've ever heard on playstation but when used on discord it runs into the same issues as the audeze maxwell@@brandonfrost9801
for me i wish they were but the slanted ear cups make it so not “stinkin cozy” after twenty or so minutes. nova 7s are still my main
I have the Steelseries Arctis 7P+. How would you compare the Nova 7 to the Arctis 7P+?
@@PROUD_CANADIAN78 i go back and forth. the novas are easier to adjust so finding the right comfort is great. i also find the novas are a bit lighter. . ear cups are a tad smaller width size but because it’s easier you can adjust it’s a non issue. imo novas are better but it’s not a big upgrade. battery life is .38 w/o bluetooth on compared to the arctis 30
@@drewl8493 thanks, I’ll just save myself some money and keep my 7P+
Nova 7s are cringe.
@@BeHempy they are literally the best ps5 headphones
Do you think the PULSE elite is better than the razer kaira pro?
The pulse Elites aren’t better than the $30 set of Binnune headphones I got off eBay. Serious business.
Better! Kaira has already put its own up for sale. The sound is clearer and clearer, the microphone is better. In kyre, in call of duty, there were constantly micro lags of the gamepad due to headphones.
The Elites definitely sound better than the kairas by a decent amount
@@EyeForKnowledge. have you tried the elites to make that claim? I’ve gone through a good amount of headsets and my elites topped them all.
@@outlawcry12222 Yeah. lol. I sent them back. Wouldn’t stay connected. They slide all over my head due to the cheap light plastic everywhere so all the weight is on the ears. The crackling and popping during loud gun fighting, and the sound is “meh”. Not bad. But not good either. I switched to IEMS’s. For $50 I got a set that sound literally 5 times better than these. And sound much better than my AirPod Pro 2. They’re wired but I don’t care. The sound is orgasmic for both music and gaming.
I have the pulse elite and i am waiting for the wicked chusions !!!
How. They don't have removeable earcups...
@@BeHempy Yes you can! Just watch the video
Where did you buy it from?
I have the Diablo IV Arctis Nova Pro, and I really like them. I bought the Pulse Elite and am still debating if I should return them. I dislike the shape of the headset, and I get sweaty wearing them. Also, after the first time I used them, I noticed a lot of scratches. I take good care of my stuff, and the plastic cups already have scratches.
oh man them diablo ones are so cool!
@@TheTechne Yeah, they are, but ngl, I did kinda regret getting them when I saw the Dragon Edition that you have. They are both cool-looking headsets, and Steel Series makes some great headsets.
Honestly, keep the nova pro. Once the recency bias wears off a lot of these reviewers will realize the novas are still better.
@@OG_G4m3r Yeah very true. That's what I ended up doing.
That year of the dragon finish is so sick though. Anyways, you should compare the Elite's to the razr blackshark 2023
Im hoping to see that as im considering either of those!
Looks kinda tacky imo
I love the pulse elite headset but i do have connection issues. It's a bummer too because when they are working they sound awesome.
Not taking price into account; Pulse Elite or Nova Pro Wireless?
Well. If you like Bass then Nova. For Clarity the Elites
You can have both…. im using the pulse elite w the 3.5mm connection connected to the steelseries gamedac, it boost the sound ALOT and you can equalize it on the fly.
I thought that you can’t change the cushion so I prefer to buy blackshark v2 pro 2023..you believe I was wrong or blacksharks are better than elite..I buy them at 200euros…At my country I can’t find SteelSeries that I wanted..
So if you only had one or two headsets to choose from to last the next 5 years strictly for fps games on Xbox, what would be your personal choice? Out of all the headsets you’ve tried.
Just trying to see what your own personal opinions are. My Stealth 700 gen 1 finally broke after 6 years of heavy use and although they were decent while they lasted I often had trouble hearing things in game. They glitched out a lot. The superhuman hearing never made much of a difference to me depending on the game played. And atrocious for hearing footsteps in warzone or r6 siege.
Justo lo que buscaba, era saber si tenia esa misma forma diagonal interna que hace que tu oreja esté pegada a la bocina y sea muy incómodo y genere dolor, y si la tiene asi que deben se igual de incómodos que los normales
Hello everyone. I finally bought pulse elite. Before that, there were razer kaira pro. And oh my God, that's great! Of course, there are no basses like on kaira, but the sound is much clearer and more pleasant. They keep the charge for a long time and in the same way: THEY ARE VERY CONVENIENT. Pulse 3d was a complete crap and sold out a week later. There were no outages on pulse elite. I was in doubt for a long time and decided to check pulse elite myself..And these are incredible headphones for the money. In terms of the quality of the materials, yes, it is bad. But the microphone, the sound, and the way they sit on their heads are beyond praise. All those who were also touched by the terrible pulse 3d are completely different headphones. Pulse 3d was pressed on the head and lay on top of the ear. The pulse elite does not squeeze and is worn around the ears and does not cause discomfort.
The Nova Pro is the best headset I've used on PS5.
razer kaira pros are pretty awesome . haptic feedback makes a huge difference
I have such headphones myself and they are bad with the ps5..fast discharge with vibration, a bad microphone, the controller constantly creates micro lags of the gamepad, poor sound accuracy in games. I do not recommend these headphones for the ps5 at all. They are assembled well, they are not suitable for any console.
for long sessions I'm sure. I don't game for long periods so for a couple hours . They've been good for me so far.
Battery life definitely suffers with the haptic feedback. Also get headaches from it for some reason lol. They definitely sound great but the bass is lacking the most out of all the headsets I’ve owned
I've loved mine. Had them years now, and I bought my son Nova 7P's last year going off what reviews I compared between what was best at the time.
I'd say, all headsets need tweaking when you get them. Kaira Pros are better for music by a long shot (personally)if you love bass, when set up correctly. Had to tweak to around a mild Nike tick shape to let the footsteps shine out and still have that nice deep rumble.
Only downside to my Kaira Pros was the lack of dual connectivity, hence why I tried the 7ps for my lads. Elites were not out then, hence me watching this vid.
Just popped on a TH-cam video of COD gameplay, and switched between my Kaira Pros, and my son's Nova 7's. Using my custom Kaira pro settings, and the most recommended EQ settings for the Novas on their own custom settings. Novas are lighter, but not as comfy. Probably don't get as sweaty though over time. First thing I noticed is that the Kairas sound like there's a larger sound stage, I feel more immersed. I can hear directionally fine on both headsets. P7's sound flatter, but could be the EQ settings - Kairas just have a fuller thicker sound. Tested default settings on both, bass is heavier on the Kairas and drowns out footsteps and other noise with gunfire and explosions, P7's are better out of the box for hearing clear footsteps, but don't sound as nice..just feel flat. After tweaks you can get the Kairas nice and clear, and make the P7's sounding much fuller than before, but in my opinion just not as rich or spatial.
PULSE ELITE or STEELSERIES ARCTIS NOVA PRO?
Had the 7p. Sent it back twich. Kept loosing sound. Waiting for the pulse elite to arive
If you mainly game on ps5, just get pulse elite, the mic alone is worth it, not to mention all the functionalities. But if you game on pc you should probably get nova 7, you get the same functionalities, better comfort, and you could fix your mic with software like steelseries gg or nvidia broadcast.
Got Pulse elite to replace Corsair one witch i paid 400$ and Elite are Amazing ...BUT also NO problem with any kind of driver because you need no driver:) Corsair provided me with so much problem and also Elite is reaching all over my home witch was not the case again with corsair so i am more then happy . I have no Playstation 5 and not planning to buy ant , so this is just for Pc gaming and watching movie so its an 8/10 for me :)
I have the Steelseries Arctis 7P+ and they are still incredible when paired with the PS5, I doubt the Pulse Elite compares to them overall.
One way to find out, try them both and compare!
The pulse elite kills them im sure. I came from nova 7s and wouldn’t go back for shit 😆
@@JohnnyJitsu11 and did you tested elite and 7p?
@@outlawcry12222i have first ones, sony 3d pulse. But want to buy nova 7p or new one from sony pulse elite
Sent the elite back. Random disconnects. Will not pair with Portal. I've tried everything as far as troubleshooting goes. Really not as comfortable as they're making out here. The audio is really great. Such a shame. Hopefully a proper firmware update solves a lot of the issues. But I was really disappointed with them.
Try the pulse elite w the steelseries gamedac, it boost the sound and I can equalize it on the fly w the gamedac. Not needing the playstation app at all lol.
MAJOR connection issues constantly voiced by the community -- big oversight with all reviewers on these
I review what I have and the issues I have, not what forums say, and on my side using them on PS5 and PS Portal, I have 0 connection issues.
@@TheTechne thank you for the reply I’m getting a replacement set hopefully that resolves things keep up the good work!
@@InfiniteEnthusiastuse another port on the playstation
I have the pulse 3D and they hurt my ears so damn much after long gaming sessions.
You can mute the playstation headset from mic button on controller too.
I got my pulse elite Saturday and every 12 to 15 minutes I get random disconnects over and over again.
Others are having the same problem.
Got mine 2 days ago on Saturday. Pulse elite zero issues. You have to reset the headset and ps5. Plug the dongle in the front also not the back. They overheat if you put them in the back of the ps5 which will make them disconnect.
Friends got them also and no issues. It's happening because people are putting the dongle in the back which you shouldn't do and if they are disconnecting in the front just reset the dongle. Not too many people are having issues.
I have been hearing many have that issue.
@@thedarksideoftheforce6658 On the Slim you don't have any choice but to put it in the back. And I have mine in a usb dongle to keep it away from the heat.
@@TheTechne Not sure about returning them yet.
idk why but i had nova 7p for ps5 and it sounded horrible. Updated them, connected it wired and couldnt hear footsteps in CoD or enjoy music. When i compared them against Pulse 3D difference was night and day. As much as i loved comfort and Bluetooth, couldn't stand that horrible sound. People had same issue on Reddit
My p7 sounds on ps5 and using it for music were horrible. Sent it back twice. Waiting for my elite.
Where do the elites land for a game like Destiny?
very very nice, again you can't pull out much bass with these, but the detail and voice is fantastic
So glad Sony bought Audeze. That's why the elites sound so good! It's the same tech.
It’s funny that no reviews have even mentioned h the random disconnects that a lot of people seem to be having using the Elite on the PS5.
Maybe because it's not really happening to a lot of people and the Internet blows everything out of proportion. I've been using them since launch day, haven't had a single drop.
Not happened to me at all on PS5 or PC
Happend to me a few times, need to disconnect the dongle and Re-connect
I had about 9-10 disconnects over the weekend with the Pulse Elites, I tried multiple ports and even using a dongle vs direct connection, always had a DC. sometimes I could reconnect by unplugging the dongle, but most times required a full reset of the PS5. I was bummed because the sound of those drivers is fantastic, and really do punch above their price point… however, I had to return them because having to restart my PS5 to reconnect is unacceptable. I’m using the Nova 7’s now (wanted the Maxwells for those drivers, but 500 CAD for a gaming headset is dumb.) and they sound worse, but they work great.
@@SkySoFewHow good is the directional sound? Can you pin point where the footsteps are coming from?
This was the comparison I was waiting for!
I was surprised with the bass thing. Is that a thing from the magnetic drivers?
And I was worried about the cushions, because they look like too fragile, but now seeing that they do come off, I'm definitely not returning this headset 🔥
Just bought the elite the other day and it's awesome! I'll let go of my older pulse elite. 😂
Pulse 3d elite or steelseries7p+
I'm not a tall giant, or a fat guy, but the Pulse Elite's were too small and didn't quite fit my head. I have a 7 3/4 hat size and I suppose tall crown height, which made the Elite's not fit me really at all and were squeezing my head tightly to where I can hear and feel my own... pulse. Just wish Sony would've had more adjustability like those SteelSeries ones.
Nova 7 looks more comfortable than Elite
If the headphones pads are set around ur ears it's comfortable if on the ear it's not comfortable at all
Love ny pulse elites
Elite no good! Mine keeps just randomly disconnects for no reason. Did some research and looks like it’s happening to heaps of people. Just thought I would let you all know.
Had one for a week. Returned it today because of this issue.
Found the fix to it almost instantly. Disconnects only if you’re putting the dongle in a hot area like the back of the PS5 or close to any other wireless connections.
Inzone H5 are great for price
I have the pulse elite and the arctis nova pro. From a gamers perspective the elite are probably the best $150 headphones for ps5 only because of its sound and compatibility. Though it is very buggy and disconnects every now and then. But the nova pro is infinitely times better in every thing
Its funny when these guys describe the maxwells weight lol like do they do neck curls while gaming or something? Its not that bad, i barely even notice even after a long ass raid on d2 with a bunch of blueberries 😂😂😂
They must have paper necks
Awesome headset … but my hs80 wireless is still running strong, but premium stuff not that expensive, Steelseries, take a lesson.

Let’s go techne
@WICKED CUSHIONS a 3rd party soft pad or 3D printed clip can be made to lock the earpads in place. Pretty please!😘🙏
The arctis 7P has a horrible static on ps5 though and that’s never mentioned by anyone
The steel series mic is terrible. If im playing with a bunch people talking I switch to my pulse 3ds over the steel series. Can't wait to try the elites this weekend.
Its a common misconception that more bass is better. Generally cans wirh more bass are cheaper, far cheaper to the point that youre being ripped off. Sound should be flat and sounds in the mix fall where the frequency of the instrument or effect sits. Good headphones can be measured easily using a spectrum analyzer or a swries of incremental frequency sweeps while the scope takes hundreds of millions of data points. A good audio engineer can tell the quality without putting them on. If you want bass i say turn the atmos system up. Apple has made billions selling 15 dollar headphones for 600usd. I have way too kuch audio gear and im spoiled for choice. I have like 5 pairs of senheiser and other premium branda i never wear. A food set of active studio monitors and qnd accompanying sub destroy my atmos set up. Never spend more than 2 k to listen to tv. Spend that money on hifi stereo speakers. Makes a huge difference.
You made me buy a Pulse Elite. F*CK! LOL
4:20 if I'm gonna look like that when I'm gaming. I'd rather not game at all.
The one comparison I've been waiting for! And I'm still torn, but elites showed up last night, after 1 night, I'm not too impressed 😞
What don’t u like about them?
@TheTechne first off, the all pleather pads, I mean you'll agree or I've learned from you I should say, nothing beats the comfort of steel series, but seems like the pleather is just loose, 2nd is the angled drivers, almost shallower than steel series, I only bought em for the chat/game volume slider and eq settings that the ss can't use on ps, after night 2, I put em on, they didn't seem as bad, so I'll keep playing with it and I'll make a decision. Only reason I was. Looking outside the nova p is for game/chat slider and 2.4 wireless puts out so much interference in our room that wife had to go a wired headset, which from your recommendations turns out the razr blackshark v2 lol, keep up the good work my man. Love the videos
After my 3rd pair of steel series 7+ have stopped working Ill never buy that brand again.
Ordered the pulse elite. Now waiting on wicked cushionz
Good luck. The Pulse Elite ear cushions are glued on.
@@simonbrandy9662NO they’re not glued on
Sony really suck when it comes to voice communication. They compress it so bad.
Watching Warzone streamers playing with randoms had me thinking that people have horrible headsets.
I’ve come to learn that that is no fault of their own.
You can use a Wave 3 usb mic on the PS5 and it still sounds like you’re talking into a tin can
Nove pros or pulse elite? Go.
Nova pro for pc and pulse elite for ps5. Nova pro sound bad on ps5.
@@nazarethproductions7095 I have them, I don't think they sound that bad lol
@@SkySoFew they alright , on pc they sound really good. I don’t know why on ps5 most headsets don’t have enough volume or the audio is really suppressed. Even when EQ’d.
@@nazarethproductions7095 They do sound pretty good on PS but I'm positive they sound a ton better on PC.
Why hasn't any reviewer mentioned that when wearing Pulse Elite headphones, you can't move your head without hearing them rubbing against it? When walking, they bounce around, giving you the feeling of dealing with a malfunctioning device.
Huh
I'm sorry, I don't have this issue.
I have this exactly same problem and im taking my headphones Back because of it. Its so annoying and makea them unusable
Pulse elites are trash. Disconnects, crackles and the mic on the set I had was muffled. Sent them back after a day of use.
I found Pulse Elite for $130 bucks.
I feel like secretly you still prefer the Steel Series. 😂
I really understand audio as I’ve been into it for over 25 years and I can honestly say I really didn’t like the Pulse Elite
Sound is definitely subjective, so everyone’s experience and hearing will be different, but there’s also technical facts that can’t be denied
The Pulse Elite definitely has very good sound quality as expected from planar magnetic drivers. It really does have very detailed sound, but as someone who’s been using the Nova 7 for a while now, I really think overall the Nova 7 is better
Out of the box the Nova 7 has almost perfectly accurate bass and mids. The treble is pulled back around the 4 kHz range, but with a little EQ tuning that can easily be pulled back up and once you do it sounds so great
The Pulse Elite sounded like it has very accurate mids and treble, but that bass 😭. The bass is so bad compared to the Nova 7 and even headsets that cost less than £50
The problem isn’t just how bad the bass response is, but also how it handles the bass. I tested the Pulse Elite for hours and no matter what I played and what type of music I listened to, it simply cannot handle even the slightest of bass and it gave me that distorting crackling and I’ve seen online that a lot of people have experienced this. At first I thought I had a faulty headset, but it’s just how it’s tuned. Even when I reduced the bass all the way down, it still done the same thing and it sounded horrible
Some people, including TH-camrs have also said the imaging is insanely good on the Pulse Elite. I personally disagree and after testing it for hours, I went back to my Nova 7 and instantly I had a smile on my face
With FPS games it depends which game, because each game has different sound engine, but that can also be easily sorted with a quick EQ on the Nova 7 and to me it still sounded better than the Pulse Elite
I really don’t understand why Sony didn’t tune this headset to have better bass response. If you’re going to make a headset with Bluetooth on it, so that people can use this headset for music as well, you need to make sure it has good bass response. The distorting crackling happened when listening to almost every single song
In game it sounds better than listening to music, but again it cannot handle bass. In COD, every time there was a mortar strike, precision air strike or even when you kill an enemy and the game has that sound effect after it distorted every time. In Gran Turismo 7 at any part of the game that would have some bass it distorted
I’ve read online the Pulse Elite has 66mm drivers and when compared with the 90mm drivers on the Audeze Maxwell, you kind of understand why the bass is bad and how it cannot handle the bass like the Audeze Maxwell, but they still could have tuned it to have much better bass response
That's what I said and everyone online attacked me, personally thinking all this reviewer's are just trying to promote the product and get their money, so yeah I personally want a all rounder headphones so after much of research iam going to pick Sony XM4, whats you're thought about that mate? I previously used Blackshark v2 pro, and I am a big fan of deep bass, do you have any suggestions?
I've tried the Pulse Elite, comparing to my Blackshark V2. I am an audiophile as well, having had at least 20 reputable headphones and gaming headsets. I went from Sony and Koss bass heavy headphones to slowly but surely embracing neutral sound signatures + EQ adjustments. So the Pulse Elite does lean more toward bass-lite than any other headset I've owned. But I can still hear the bass registering firmly without distortion. I need to sample them more, bc right now they are boxed up and hiding for my son's birthday. If he doesn't like them for any reason, I'll trade them in for the Arctic 7x.
@@TheModeRed I understand what you getting at, but iam just starting this audiophile thing path the best headphones I got and tried was the black shark's, but thanks for the advice, I think I have to go through Sony phase for now, that headphone was a dream for me since I was in highschool and tomorrow iam going to order them, but thanks for the heads-up mate, much appreciated 🫀
@@xrecoveryx5526 I love the Sony 1000XM4. It has such nice bass, but we’re talking about gaming audio and that’s different. The XM4 isn’t suitable for any competitive gaming, but for immersive gaming it’s really good. The original Razer Blackshark V2 Pro isn’t good, but the V2 Pro 2023 is very good and any EQ customisation you make on the Synapse software saves to the headset and it has good imaging
If you’re looking for really good audio for gaming without spending a lot of money, SteelSeries Nova 7 or SteelSeries Nova Pro Wireless
If you play FPS games and want wired, try a few IEM’s
@@TheModeRed I’d say try to listen to songs and games that has strong bass and you’ll hear the distortion. It doesn’t distort in a way that it cuts out the audio. It more causes that crackling where it makes you feel if you push it a little more it will cut out the audio
The Pulse Elite look so fragile and flimsy. Id be amazed if people are getting a year out of them without them breaking
Everything new is going to sound "the best". Give it a a couple months and And then some of you will get bored of it. I'm guilty of it because that's why I have multiple pairs of headphones 😂
you also gotta put the price point/range in that statement as well though
Pulse elites all day
Pricing on the elite is amazing, sound is terrible even after eq.
I already had the audeze penrose x and now have the maxwells, nova pro wireless, pc38x, h6 pro, arctis 7x, JBL quantum 910x, stealth 700 gen 2 max, Microsoft headset, Sony mdr1a, Phillips fidelio x2hr, Lucidsound ls50x, Microsoft headset … all of which sound better
They aren’t terrible, I have Maxwell and the elites are that far behind them in sound quality.
Nope. Maxwells still better.
Still more than double the prize
Pulse elite is bugged. Lots of people including me having distortion issues.
