Totally agree about when the kickoff should happen. I see this mistake over and over in companies. In fact I’ve had a sponsor call a kickoff meeting long before I’m ready and without my knowledge.
Thanks for watching and for your feedback. That's definitely a frustrating position to be in. Hopefully this is a one off case for you. Wishing you all the best, cheers!
Thanks for these great tips on project planning. Good planning will definitely lead to project success. Especially appreciated the info about the kick-off meeting.
Great breakdown! Reminded me of several important points I forgot. In real-life PM, you often skip many parts, and then the problems begin. Thank you, Adriana!
It seems like in the planning stage- you gonna play it like chess. You need to know the next move so you can counter possible roadblocks and challenges. This is amazing!!! ❤
Do we have to set up meeting with steering committee or need to mail them about details? I'm not clear with this point.. Because at the end again you mentioned need to have project Kick off meeting
Hi Swapnil. Your kick off meeting will be with your core project team and what you prep during the planning stage will be presented to your team during that meeting. Your Steering committee is a separate group, they are the executives that will approve major items and road blocks. You will have multiple meetings with your steering committee through out the life of the project. You have some great questions. My Slay Project Management Course can answer any further questions you might have, it also provides you with all the templates you will need as well as a private Facebook group where you can ask questions and engage with other amazing project managers. @zpl, the WBS is essentially a working timeline and task document for the team to ensure that all milestones are being met based on their delivery date. The stakeholders are a part of approving the project charter and from that the project plan is created and the WBS. Here is a video I have on Work Breakdown Structure for you to watch, cheers! th-cam.com/video/BVcd9uy9kuQ/w-d-xo.html

But I thought that the stakeholders should be involved with the WBS?
