Never heard of project charter before. This is so interesting, I always wanted to learn about project management but it sounded super hard. Thank you Adriana for explaining this so easily!
I absolutely love your content, the way you explain , everything is just crystal clear now !! You explained each and every thing in short but in very effective manner . Thanks for such informative video 🙏🏻.

The signature signing is a very good idea. i would call that "masking your movement" in military terms....basically getting them to do something but you're concentrating on other issues.
I see charter as a contract between sponsor and project leader. It is great communication tool between them to understand project direction, deliverables opportunities, goal, scope, and timeline. If agreed, charter can be introduced to the team. Would you agree with this approach?
What you say is correct but I recommend you take it one step further and make it a contract between the PM, Sponsor, Steering Committee (StC) and Team. I always have the Sponsor and StC sign off on it before I introduce it to the team.

Hi Saud, thanks for the suggestion. You can also turn on the closed captioning as well to make it easier to follow. Pleased that you enjoyed this video and thank you so much for watching, cheers!
As i come to understand what is project charter. Its fimiliar to the prospoal (narrative) and budget which includes all detials of project (name, location, deliverables, budget, workplan). However this document is usually owned and signed by PM, sponser, and steering committee. Should i prepare the project main items seperatly to be shared with project team based on their roles and call it a charter too?
Hi Sumia, great question. You only need to prepare one document, the charter. However, You may want to create 2 versions. One that has all the project details for the sponsors and steering committee, this version would be for their eyes only, and one for the team with same information minus anything you do not want to share with your team. Creating 2 versions will ensure everyone is on the same page with the core information, minus the other details. Ideally it would be better to just have one document for both groups. Hope this helps. cheers!
Hey Adriana! Could you share your experience on following- if a project charter is signed off and after that some changes need to be done, are you creating a new charter, or you update the original one (and get it signed off again) and outline in addendum what has been changed? Thanks!
Hi @maitreiify. The project chart is a live working document that lives through the entire life cycle of the project, so any changes that need to be made should be done on the original charter and then signed off again so everyone is in agreement. Hope this helps and thanks for watching, cheers!
@@AdrianaGirdler absolutely helpful! That was my understanding as well but it wasn’t supported by my manager. Now I need to sell this to her :) Cheers!
Hi Tracy, it all depends on how big your project is but ensure you do your scope statement first as much of that information can be copied directly into your Charter. I go through all of this in my Online Course SLAY Project Management and also provide you all the templates you need to ensure your project is a success. You can check it out here adrianagirdler.thinkific.com/courses/slaypm
