    Scope creep...it's critical for the project manager to keep the project reined in, because otherwise before you know it, extras get folded into the mix and you're out of time, over budget, etc. Beware scope creep! :)

    Thanks for this video, Adriana. Very helpful to know exactly what some of those project terminologies mean. I have been involved in some projects where I think scope creep was a real issue. Perhaps if they had done a charter at the beginning it might have helped the situation!

    What kind of software do you recommend to create and manage action plan?

    • @AdrianaGirdler
      @AdrianaGirdler  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      This is a personal preference for a PM. My suggestion is to ensure that everyone on the team has access to it otherwise you lose accountability very quickly. There are lots of good software out there. Because I interact with so many different companies, with different budget and needs I tend to use excel as everyone has this and I don’t have to train anyone. Hope this helps.

    I have a question as an accidental pm I find other pms kinda picking on my questions i ask them that are all very important questions to our company. They still just want to pick apart things I say… specifically emails what do I do???

    • @AdrianaGirdler
      @AdrianaGirdler  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Look at what is being said with some detachment. Don’t link the comments to you personally. Try to understand where they are coming from…strategy and plans you may not be aware of???
      Speak to your manager about this and ask for neutral feedback from someone who understands the players and situations and be open to feedback.

    Terms all project manager know and understand!
    1. Have you got a fag packet to put my estimate on?
    2. Supplier yes of course we will finish on time
    3. Customer demands gold plated requirement on tinfoil budget
    4. Deployment stage is the new requirements stage according to Customer
    5. BAU = breaking a unique-product
    6. When it goes wrong everyone blames the PM
    7. Threats are what the sponsor projects to the PM after findings of benefit realisation.
    8. Stakeholders are always experts and vocal after an output but less vocal in before an output in its development.
    9. When something goes wrong everyone is an expert
    10. PM is alway wrongs and everyone is always right!
