If you ever do decide to watch the fillers, most requested ones will mostlikely be Zanpakuto Rebellion or Reigai
I actually think most of the filler in Bleach is pretty good, with only the Bount Arc being irredeemable. The biggest problem was just when they decided to add the filler. So long as you hold off watching the filler until an actual break in the serious, rather than interrupting the major story beats, it's not bad.
@@lo4tr Bounts has a better story than Amagai, but it's worsely paced.
it'd be interesting to listen to someone's opinions about the Bount Arc. Even though it's bad, anyone ever talks about the Bount Arc on TH-cam. It's almost as if it never was part of the anime lmao
A lot of the smaller comedy fillers is actually the best ones and should be watched IMO.

you should definitely check out the Thousand Year Blood War Arc both in manga and anime in detail because the anime rearranges, extends and even completely alter stuff from the manga in a good way, also the novels are canon and you should read them after finishing the series
How canon the novels are is up for debate. Kubo signed off on a lot of it, but what specifically he accepts as canon is unclear. The way I see it, I treat everything in the novels as canon unless contradicted in the manga/anime.
Then again, at this point, the manga is the 'real' canon up through the Fullbring Arc while the anime is the 'real' canon for TYBW, so it's really weird to decide. Even worse when we know the Diamond Dust Rebellion can't be canon but Kubo takes references from Memories of Nobody as canon.
i'm not sure that's true at all, he was there throughout all of it and they wouldn't even be possible without him, and he also acknowledged that it's possible for them to be animated if they got enough interest@@lo4tr

Don't feel sorry for taking a long while to get into Bleach. I think it's best for people to dive into a piece of art when they're ready and if that's decades into the future, so be it. Go at your own pace. It will hit much harder when you're ready for it.
Personally would love to hear a fresh perspective on the filler arcs. Lot of people think they're 90% worthless, but there's a lot of me that feels like the modern fandom is just too easily jaded in regards to things like filler arcs, and would genuinely just like to hear from someone with no preconceptions of them what they think of their stories.
Bleach actually has quite a few good filler arcs. The Zanpakuto Rebellion Arc, in particular, is on par with the canon material. The two major issues with the filler are the Bount Arc and the placement of the other fillers. The Bount Arc was a real drop in quality compared to everything else surrounding it, which gives the entire set of filler a bad name. First impressions matter, after all. Second, the filler arcs interrupting climactic moments of the anime do not help at all.
Fillers just don't have Kubo's direction and feel very boring most of the time

My main thing with the filler in bleach is that it’s non canon. I can sit through most shows’ filler bc it usually adds layers to existing content. When you know that nothing in the episode/arc matters, it’s more so like “what’s the point”

Congratulations on your subs. My favorite Bleach character is Yoruichi. She's a deadly assassin princess raised her entire life to be a weapon of silent death and yet, she never let that twist her in any way. She's humbly fun loving and also imparts sage wisdom while immensely disliking the paranoid world of the nobility she came from, valuing freedom. She's a gold legacy all on her own.

Would also not mind hearing about the filler/movies! Everyone skips them but honestly I’d love to see your perspective maybe after the main series or whenever you think you want to see them
You know, seeing you talk about the specific moments and what your favorite characters are... you might want to make a set of videos discussing the favorite characters from each point in the story to keep track of how they change as it goes on.
I was introduced to Bleach through the anime. A fight of Hitsugaya stood out to me and made me want to watch the show. I read the manga afterwards.😅

I love the way you do analysis/speculation on the Bleach manga as you're reading it. It takes me back to when I was reading it for the first time as it was being released and speculating about characters' powers and motivations. Very interesting to hear things you get right as well as things you get wrong and how you react when you get new information that confirms/denies your theories.

Loved hearing your answers for these questions, I think it’d be great to hear your answers to the same (Bleach) ones later down your reading road - not necessarily after every arc or at every milestone of yours, but I think it’d be interesting to see what has changed, if /anything/, or if the answers are the same but the reasons are different then.

The fillers are mostly bad or irrelevant. Some of the later filler arcs had better quality than the rest, but the first one is the worst out of all of them. While watching them for the first time I was really just waiting for them end so that the story continues.
honestly i thought the bount arc was good, i liked the idea of the villains but i dont think they were handled well, i think they also copied a lot of stuff from the soul society arc and i wish theyd have done their own thing, also the whole Ran'Tao thing ended up conflicting with the actual lore but tbf it wasnt revealed yet so i dont blame them for that

As for the movies if you’re going to watch at least one it has to be the first to be the first one because it is at least semi cannon I believe it’s fully cannon to the manga but that’s beside the point and plus it explains some stuff that happens later on in the manga

I would recomend for you to watch the tybw anime instead of the manga, its changing the story because the manga was rushed due to the editorial wanting kubo to finish it fast. The tybw anime team is working closely with kubo and he even requested new specific scenes to be added. I also recomend reading the bleach light novels especially SAFWY and CFYOW since you are a kenpachi fan. Burn the witch is a new manga written by kubo, its a spin off of bleach.

So for fillers they are decent and are a fun watch but they break canon with weird lore they tend to add and can honestly confuse the overall timeline. I didn't enjoy the fillers on rewatch I decided to just skip them after trying to give them a chance again, but I remember having fun with them my first go through.

I've seen people start a series because of a recommendation. Expectations grow, but there is not enough interest, so they end up not liking it. Inviting toxic fans of those series.
