In the latest episode of Bleach: Thousand-Year Blood War Arc anime, episode 25, The Master, Yhwach's remaining Schutzstaffel take on the Zero Division, while he battles Ichibei before activating his ultimate trump card - the Auswählen, sacrificing the Quincy in Seireitei to turn the tables! yup, i loved the zero division bankai
After Kubo posted the death album add ons it would seem the sternritter were killed.
My favorite line from both these episodes was this is a true Squad 0 battle Also pernida Holy form
I enjoyed what I saw but this entire 2nd cour I was hype waiting to watch Robert get smited down from the heavens but I got robbed of that. The uryu addition on the fight was nice to see.
We didn’t see any of the Sternritter die, so I’ll withhold judgment until we know for sure.
Pernida's wings being shaped like hands was a great touch. I really like how the Auswählen came across as both something visually stunning, while actually being extremly twisted in it's purpose.
They didn't have to go this hard for a single move but they frekin did anyways
One of my favorite things in this is just how in-synch the entire zero division is. They immediately know when one of them needs backup and act accordingly based on their capabilities. Oetsu doesn't even worry about losing blood, because he knows Tenjiro is right there to heal him immediately, and even later when Senjumaru grabs Oetsu to heal him while Tenjiro distracts them.
If Kubo went this hard for the squad zero fight, then just imagine how hard he'll go for Ichigo and Aizen vs yhwach, it's gonna be the most epic fight imaginable

I don’t think Kubo will show Aizen’s Bankai (but holy shit imagine the internet breaking if that was a cliffhanger) but I can’t wait to see it expanded.
If NaNaNa is dead I do wonder if Aizen will have more of a role or is just stuck on Chair-Sam’s trash talking
I love that Yhwach Bach in Ichigos inner world tells him that he hates the rain. Its what happens during auswählen which makes Ichigo sad because of his mother as it rained after while she died, and it makes Yhwach sad because of the after-effect of auswählen rain
I think the best part about the squad zero fight, what made it so special, is that since we know they will eventually lose, but we also knew auswahlen hadn't yet happened, it meant that nobody was wearing any plot armor. All cards were in play, all fates in the air. We all had genuinely no idea who was going to fall after that Tenjiro / Haschwalth clash. That's how battles should be.
I think tenjiro is the “sailor”
Theme, the water and the sun really do reflect a sea voyage to me
It's cool having Senjumaru fighting Uryu because of the first time he showed up and it was revealed he knows how to weave, when he fixed someones' stuffed animal.
Not to mention he's gonna need stitches after this 😆
Also the fact that Uryu was the one to introduce “Soul Ribbons” as a Concept in the early days of Bleach; and Senjumaru’s Bankai literally manipulates enemies’ Soul Ribbons once located and she twists their Fabric of Fate to bring their eventual Fated Demise sooner rather than later
I'm still of the opinion that Kinpika is a solar zanpakuto, not a light based one. I believe it is supposed to be a blade of pure solar energy and thus can't be blocked by conventional means, which might explain why Tenjiro was surprised that Haschwalth's mystical Frundschild stopped it, only for Kirinji to wrench it from Jugram's grasp
I actually think Kyoraku's statement about getting a drink was him lying to Ukitake. I think the scene was restructured into one where Kyroraku doesn't want to alarm Ukitake who needs to focus on his own tasks now that he's taking the field. It would make sense that Ukitake would know Kyoraku enough to suspect what he would be thinking had he mentioned where he was actually going, and there would be a chance Ukitake would try to stop him from carrying out his goal of seeking out Aizen in a moment of soul society's desperation. This may or may not be the case but for now that's how I viewed the scene

That entire episode is going to absolutely decimate the anime only watchers minds. 11/10 scene
Quick note, in the battle against Quilge, Quilge mentions how Yuha is the one who adjust how powerfull the blutt in an quincy is.
I know everybody was hyped for Senjumaru and Oetsu but in this episode I was delighted by Tenjiro, he honestly deserved this win and it's really showed how powerful he is, while most of us didn't expect much from him.
Agreed i just wished his zanpakuto got more time to shine we still dont really know its ability , pun intended

It showed that Kubo is bold enough to do mayor changes from the original source material which means that cour 3 and 4 are basically no mans land and given how huge the changes are there will definitely be a lot more hype stuff coming since in cour 3 everything starts to actually spike
Yup both cours are uncharted territories. However, the trailer for cour 3 should tell us of what we will expected to be properly adapted in the manga, but who knows what will changed and/or rearranged. I wouldn't be surprised if cour 3 ends with the Gerald fight or the beginning of Ichigo vs Ywach. That will give cour 4 more time to fix the ending of the manga.

@@MrGksarathy It's because of those radical restructuring that I know the final battle will occur in cour 4.
I can't help but think, that we're going to be treated to something absolutely glorious in Cour 3. Kyoraku's line to Ukitake of "So you can exert yourself a little?" has me absolutely begging Kubo to give us Ukitake using Bankai with the help of Kamikake. My soul physically cannot hold off til we see the Hell Arc animated for an Ukitake bankai. Just give me Kyoraku and Ukitake vs. Lille before Nanao arrives to get her zanpakuto from him.
I never thought I’d be able to look at Squad Zero’s big battle and not be disappointed, but here I am.

I’m still leaning towards no bankai for Aizen. But Ichigo I’m willing to bet on. I want to see his true bankai so badly when him and Aizen team up

For Tenjiro, I almost wonder if the light is to mimic the sun. His healing pools are extremely hot and if sunlight is on water, it tends to get warmer. Like a UVB. However it's never mentioned or hinted that the light radiates heat. But its just a small theory
I mean he did use solar flare with it
I immediately got the sun from his release, and it felt perfect. Everything about him is life-giving, and what is the ultimate life-giver if not the sun.
I think his power is baths, he used a hot spring bath, a blood bath, and a sun bath. Just my theory 😁

I actually really like shunsui’s line change. Especially for those of us who know where he is off to, it adds some nice character to our new head captain. He’s inexperienced and about to go take on central 46 for the second time. He needs some liquid courage before doing what he plans to do. And for those who are anime only it adds some nice intrigue for what’s to come.
I am realllly looking forward to Shunsui’s Conversation with C46 to get clearance to do what he plans on doing, and talking with “that person” thereafter
Senjumaru sure pulled the rug out in this battle, the very fight for the very dark heart of Soul Society. I can imagine what's cooking for the next cour especially since we've been given plenty of bonuses and lore thus far. 2024 is going to be epic for Bleach.
Tenjiro has always been my favorite so I’m sooo pleased with his showing in the anime. Respect. Also Lil Toto is goated

Think about it tho. Base uryu was able to react senjumaru while a regular sternritter with a decent ability like the Wind couldn't. We couldn't even see how she marked the wind she was to fast for him. But with uryu he was able to see her every move. And uryu was just in his base. The series is finally doing uryu justice.
I have a crazy theory of why Bazz B wasn't killed by Auswahlen: what if Jugram was behind that? What if he somehow lessened the deadliness of it for Bazz B in particular with the help of The Balance? That would be such a cool addition to their friendship backstory, especially if Jugram reveals that to him during their fight.
Or perhaps when Jugram was subconsciously giving Bazz b power back when they were children, the auswhalen stripped the power given by Yhwach, but Bazz b keeps the power from Jugram
Both of these theories sound good, but I don't want them to be true because this means the other Stërnritter might be toast, which I don't want.
I always thought Bazz surviving would result in him, Uryu, Grimmjow, Tsukishima and Nell all becoming a strike force to help Ichigo in times of need.
A Quincy with flame powers, the prodigal son Quincy, the coolest Espada, the most broken Fullbringer, and the Queen of Heuco Mundo.

@@davewindburn Everyones entitled to their own opinion. My way of thinking is I was under the impression that Harribel died. That would make Nelliel the strongest remaining Arrancar besides Grimmjow left, making her the Queen. When she was in the Espada, I thought she placed higher than Grimmjow, so she's probably got more power.
And I personally wasnt super impressed by Stark. He's neat, dont get me wrong, but as far as each Espada and their motivations, I loved Grimmjow and Ulquiorra the best. Grimmjow wasnt a mindless slave to his urges, wasn't questioning his existence, wasn't scheming or biding his time.
Grimmjow wanted to fight. Grimmjow wanted strong foes to keep challenging him until he was undoubtedly *the strongest*.
Ulquiorra was more the question his own existence type, and in the end was probably the most human of them all as much as he couldnt see it. But his emotionless expression breaking into frustration, rage, unknowing dissatisfaction, and then finally a smile, was far more memorable than the dude who was two people cause he was 'so strong's and had coyote/wolves. And thats not to diminish Starks character, story, or your love for them, in any way. I just am of the opinion that Grimmjow was the coolest Espada for his sheer simplicity of character.
Shoutouts to Kirinji from going from, getting walled by Nianzol in the Manga to making Haschwalth bleed, and giving some issues to a power up Askin Nakk Le Varr, all while he was unable to go full power.

42:30 Komamura, Rangiku, Kensei, Rose and Yachiru had a death art by Kubo, so I wouldn't think much about it other than: just like in the manga they won't get more screen time.
Toshiro got one too but he still get one last fight against Gerald.
I love how evil Ichibei is portrait in the anime even Moore compared to the manga. It really shows a nice contrast painting the Shinigami's as the "bad guys" I love it!

Sure he would create new life but he would sacrifice a lot of life's just to create his ideal world, to be fair Shinigami's did the same thousand if not millions of years ago with splitting the original world into 3 realms.

@@afh7170 Yeah true every group is morally gray (at best) and even though we think the Shinigami's are the "good guys" although they are better than a Aizen or a Yhwach, they also did commit a huge crime thousands of years ago with splitting the body parts of the Soul King and using his power to create the 3 worlds. Yhwach and Aizen are evil but at the same time you kinda understand them, they want to turn back how it once was before the world was split in 3 but by doing so you also kill EVERYONE inside these 3 realms to create the original one what is not a "morally good" thing so the speak lol.

Robert is a fanatic, he will try to stop Aizen to gain Ywatch favor before Bazz-B put an end to his life.
Nah Robert will likely go attack the remaining soul reaper captains and lieutenants who are injured but recovering and still good enough to fight. But he gets taken down by Ukitake.
Of course that’s only if Robert does survive and if cour 3 will give Ukitake extended scenes

I don't know, I think that would be disappointing, especially since he knows better than nearly all the Stërnritter still alive that Ywach had well and truly abandoned them. Maybe he'll throw himself against Ukitake out of some empty desperation to do something and take out some Shinigami, but I don't think he'll pull what NaNaNa tried. Only NaNaNa is stupid enough for that.

Honestly, if Kubo is willing to expand the Squad Zero fights with changes made to manga continuity of events, I think they deliberately didn’t show Robert, NaNaNa, Candice and Meninas as they might actually come in to play more in Cour 3. Hell they took Shinji’s Bankai form CFYOW, there’s no reason they won’t borrow more from it (like the fates of Candice, Menni and Nanana). Either way…there’s a massive opportunity to re-write Cours 3 and 4 and so far the choices Studio Pierrot and Kubo have made do not give me the impression they are gonna stop changes from here. Things are going to be wild either way.
Most anticipated battle has to be Mayuri and that backstory, cant wait for his faults to be shown and to see that former arrancar too

@Ironhandreacts-bp4yo it's shown full circle and given closure to his character in the end, and a good quarter of this war was on his shoulders. No other shinigami was capable or were like that to take on Pernida

I imagine Kinpika's shining would be quite helpful in a fight, making it hard for his opponent to track his swings. Very subtle and not overtly powerful, but that's what Shikai should be imo.
Robert vs Ukitake and Aizen's Bankai has to be one of Kubo's biggest secrets. I hope to god that it doesn't get leaked in preproduction

So was Grimmjow before he came back to help Urahara, Ginjo and the others also make a brief appearance despite 2 of them being "dead" but y'know, they're in the Soul Society which is where humans go anyways.
@@GameoftheYear-fx4mq huh? No! I’ve read the manga. This isn’t all about the manga material. I’m talking about Kubo’s art in his Twt/X account. Everytime a character dies in the latest episode, he immediately makes art of them wearing modern clothes and upload it in his account. Robert was one of them

Aizen WILL get a Bankai, Characters WILL have more screentime (8+ episodes of bonus material confirmed) and Ichigo's Bankai WILL have more scenes.
@@Sakanade__ Kubo could be trolling us, and fingers crossed that he is. As much of a bit character as NaNaNa may be, he still deserves his moment against Aizen.
I for some reason found Ichibei drawing the two lines at the beginning of the battle hilarious. Reminds me of Plankton playing the harmonica. Why didn't he just flashstep over.
At this point, I don't know what to expect because these last two episodes changed a lot from the source material. I'm so excited to see what Kubo and the studio have planned for the next part
11:21 Yhawch can actually stop falling by using the bow as a ground and then shoot himself up by holding on an arrow... But instead he pierced his body to get back there quickly... The amount of dedication he has...
Let's GOOOOOO! I've been waiting for this review of 25, and soon 26, with much anticipation. It's one of the highlights of my week as I save these videos as I'm prepping for work.
I actually preferred this episode to episode 26. The Auswahlen was one of the best scenes in TYBW so far and im sure it’ll still be one of my favorite scenes even after its completed
I do think it makes more sense he didn't want to give any indication he was going to go see about using Azien.
They must be adding A LOT of extra material in the next cours if this is already the halfway mark.
More extra fights? Extra scenes for minor characters that did literally nothing in the manga version? More lore and world building?
The possibilities are endless.
I always thought Robert and Gerard were both just so old and the Auswählen took their semi immortality, but the remembered Jugo and Bazz-B are both a thousand years old too. It actually makes me wonder how old are the Bambies considering they’re relatively new. I doubt there’s just Pure Quincy’s in our modern age when Ryuken’s mother made a big deal about Misaki and Ryuken getting together.
I’m hoping they reveal that Haschwalth maid a third lie and is taking care of a recovering Haschwalth, and maybe the anime had him working with a still living Bazz-B and Robert.
The music was absolutely amazing too. Like perfectly placed from start to finish
I am so happy for bleach fans. I remember the general malaise when the TYBW arc came out. And I am so glad they are getting an *awesome* finale to their franchise.

MrTommo, I enjoy your reviews so much I don't care if there are spoilers - because the episodes so far have been so good I've still been floored when I watch them, even if I kind of knew of something that might be happening. I've tried watching other channels to get, how to put it, some different approaches? presentations? - but none of them have the perfect combination of professionalism in presentation skill, extensive lore knowledge, and most of all a clear expression of the complete love you have to the Bleach universe and the amazing world that Kubo has built.

I became caught up with and started following the Bleach manga weekly around the time of the Rukia vs As Nodt fight, being a long time Bleach anime viewer ever since I was first introduced to it on Adult Swim so so long ago now. I remember being engrossed with how things had become in the TYBW, and the events and memories in my life at the time were entwined with every new chapter. I have been watching your content for years now, and I sincerely want to thank you for continually providing your fanbase with consistent, well-thought-out, passionate content about the series that was there for me as a kid and is still here for me well into my adulthood. I'm sure I can speak for most long-time Bleach fans in saying that the anime has provided a sorely needed respite from the underwhelm we went through with the Zero Division back when these events transpired in the manga. Kudos to the team who were in charge of the adaptation, and kudos to you, MrTommo, for providing us with such great content. Can't wait for the next video

Bazz-B probably survived since his powers came from Jugram instead of Yhwach
I'm so glad they did these guys justice I love their designs and it's awesome to get to see them fight some, I just wish I could see all their bankai 😂 spider lady is cool and all but she's my third favourite oetsu and and kirinji are the ones I really want to know what they can do. But damn what a finale, the visuals were incredible the audio was incredible and the new content had me enthralled! Really reminds me of all those years ago when I was barely 20 watching the weekly release on some anime website and then flipping over to a manga site to read the manga too and getting super excited for both.

I would love to see Robert, Najakop, Candice and Meninas again in court 3, fighting again. The In Memoriam art by Kubo just might be a troll move.

Great video! Mr Tommo got me back into bleach with your great narration and descriptions and passion for the show! You've mentioned a few times now that Ichibe isn't trying to kill Ywach at the beginning of their fight, which is pretty clear. But I'm wondering why that is, Ywach has proven to be dangerous and clearly doesn't take Ichibe's warnings seriously. So I imagine he would have come to the conclusion that he has to kill him sooner. With that being said, maybe he doesn't want to kill the soul king's son? Or maybe he knows about hell and that Ywach is helping to keep the gates of hell closed with his immense Spiritual pressure? I'm sure it's neither of these and I'm thinking about it too much. As you've pointed out he just sees him as a child. But it would be pretty cool if there was more to it!
I was delighted like the majority of fans about all the additions. For me I really loved Tenjiro's extentions. In relation to his Shikai, I think that the blinding light really goes with his blinding speed, giving him even more of an advantage over the enemy. Eagerly awaiting the review of the final episode.

I think it's wierd the way we might assume jugo is dead in the battle then brought back.
But Uryu was not killed, I don't know why senjumaru doesn't try to finish Uryu.
But whats more interesting is Uryu is probably going to kill senjumaru.
The line "of the pride of the quincy I will kill you" in the trailer is the only one missing in the cour, and its probably because Uryu was meant to say it at the end of episode 26 but could not because of production issue.
I would have liked you mentionning thoses oddities.

I'm pretty sure shigarami weaves anything she wants into existence. Senjumaru doesn't use illusions. She weaves things into existence including the floating islands, her fake copies, umbrella, body parts etc.
The Bankai most likely weaves fate itself.
Honestly, when you mentioned the correspondent Chapters, I wondered how much time in writing a Chapter Kubo uses to come up with the titles. Thinking up those extremely creative chapter titles has got to be exhausting, no?
I always headcannoned that Renji pulled Bazz-B out of the light of Aushwalen before it could kill him.
I think I have an explanation for the Balance: it’s depicted as a scale. Scales tip backward and forward but they also can remain neutral. I think it’s always goes back to neutral like when she restored the initial cage and for him to use it again, he needs additional misfortune to tip it back to his side

Remember, the stronger the attack the longer it will take to be used again. This is explained in the shattered shaft / ichigo first training with Urahara.

When it comes to episode 25 spefically my favorite moment was the auswalen i really love how they chose to make the auswalen into a black hole that explodes into a massive a halo i also really love the rain effect other that my favorite character in the episode along with episode 26 is definitly Senjumaru i just absolutly love her powerset with her needles and cloth reality manipulation as well as everthing she can do with her arms the least impressive royal guard member was outsu i was really expected more both anime and manga from theblacksmith of the zanpakto then just jumping around with just a really sharp sword and getting pumped full of holes
Just imagine the battel Aizen vs Yhwach and Kubo drops a bomb and shows us more than Kyoka Suigetsu.

I'll be honest, the look of Askin's bow REALLY makes me think he was supposed to actually represent the Future Era of Warfare, unless Kubo is going by the 'THE FUTURE IS NOW' route for the 'Current Era'.
I actually dont think Lille lied when he said what he did. I think he was specifically talking about the abilities he didn't get to use in the fight because there was this misunderstanding that it took the additional power to allow him to use his x-axis when that simply wasn't the case. They do get more powerful, its just that Lille's ability to do what he did didn't originate from the power boost

The only issue i have with the idea of Robert being alive is the scene at 38:42. I could be wrong but in the episode where Ichigo and Co get launched to the soul palace we see a quick scene of Robert laying on the ground looking upwards at their departure. At the scene in 38:42 we see a figure laying down in a similar position. That makes me think that was Robert there.
Don't get me wrong I would like to see him survive (at least so we can get his speech) but I don't want to get my hopes up.

I think Robert's shrift being hidden and his death not being on screen makes me think he isn't dead and his shrift has something to do with that.
My thoughts on the changing of Kyoraku's line was that him releasing Aizen was gonna be seen as more taboo. Like he was going to do it regardless of getting approval, which would lend further credence to everyone freaking out about it when it's revealed.
I think I prefer the change of Kyoraku's dialogue because I believe the "tea" that he was referring to is a toast. A sort of ceremonial parting for his best friend, Ukitake. Kyoraku have lost Yamamoto, Yachiru, and now Jushiro by the end of this war. I think in one of your videos, you mentioned how you would like more character moments between Jushiro and Kyoraku because they haven't been able to see each other in this arc.
Rather than foreshadowing Aizen, which they have been doing ever since the anime started, wouldn't it be better to foreshadow Jushiro's inevitable doom?
