I agree that it probably means something, but I want to play devil's advocate here just for the sake of it. Robin, an archeologist, just joined the crew a few chapters earlier, so Oda might have just wanted to draw some worldbuilding scenes. Interesting yet unnecessary details are not uncommon to read about in fantasy novels. Fantasy authors do this all the time because it gives their worlds verisimilitude (the feeling of being real). That's just me being a killjoy, though, and I hope it has payoff!
It was definitely meant to show off Robin’s archaeology skills. I don’t recall that aspect of her being shown much in Alabasta besides reading the Poneglyphs. So it was a great scene to quickly show what she can do and what she brings to the Straw Hat crew.
I mean, there's no doubt in my mind that that does play a huge role in this whole sequence, but there's still so many stuff that doesn't really have a correlation with Robins role in that moment, especially the feather in the chest and the portrait, that has no payoff with Robin at all and was completely kept as a mystery. So while a good chunk of this moment was meant to give Robin some characterization, I don't think that was all it was.
Maybe the crew of the St.Briss took something from the skypiens and put it in that chest. Then the skypiens attacked them to get it back and after taking it one of their feathers just happened to fall in. Maybe afterwards the survivors were sentenced to cloud drifting.
What could potentially strenghten this idea is the sigill they're flying aswell as the figurehead on the ship. It's very reminiscent of the celestial dragons, although more primitive in design
The Feather!!! I love these tiny details that are always hidden in plain sight but have big effects. Great video Matt keep the theories coming dude we at the final stretch of the story
with the robot attack on Marigois 200 years ago, it could be possible that the ship was there, that it belonged to one of the 20 kingdoms that the celestial dragons owned. They may have been looking for some other way to get back to the South Blue, but ended up in a knock up stream.
After the recent news with Vegapunk's message, I've been wondering about Noland's story more and more. Like was how the Tontatta named people like Luffy-land, Nami-land etc. Foreshadowing of what else Noland learned in his travels? Not to mention that his family name "Mont Blanc" Is one of the worlds largest mountain ranges. So I feel like Mont Blanc Noland can reference that there will be No land, move to the Red Line.
I'm a more recent first time viewer, so for me, I thought it was just a really tight way of building up Robin, who just joined, and her relationship with Chopper, not around long without Vivi. In minutes you see the knowledge of Robin and see how they work together to solve the world's many mysteries.
It was the Sabaody arc, when we found out Shanks and Buggy were part of Roger's crew. Rayleigh told the Straw Hats (and us) himself. Luffy was excited that Shanks was there, and Nami reacted rather awkwardly to Buggy being involved.
It was actually Post Eneis lobby when Whitebeard meets Shank's where he mentions him and buggy being on Roger's ship. We even see a flashback on them being young lol. Way before Sabaody ever happened.
It was Post Enies Lobby! For over a year now I’ve been buying and collecting all the One Piece volumes and reading them. Right now I’m up to the aftermath of Enies Lobby. Just read it yesterday where Shanks met with Whitebeard and asked him to stop Ace from going after Blackbeard. There Whitebeard mentioned that he remembered some faces from Roger’s crew due to how much they clashed together, and that’s when Shanks and Buggy were revealed to us.
As a wise man once said regarding treppaning, lobotomies, and other old school procedures "thank you modern medicine for not being worse than no medicine"
Hopefully vegapunk ends on what the massive kingdom was called. Clover got shot for just attempting to say it and without all the other stuff revealed for the most part. It must be something huge to get the gorosei so rilled up. Though sinking the world would only make sense if imu was able to breath under water as the celestial dragons will not survive unless they stop at the top like Noah's ark
Wasn't it revealed by Rayleigh during Sabaody that Shanks was on Rogers crew? Maybe not the first time for the readers but the first time Luffy found that out
Wow. A picture of somebody resembling Vivi with a sharp object pointed through it. Not only is that similar to what Imu did to those other Wanted posters, but the harpoon is shaped like that devil tail that Imu tried to stab Sabo with...
1- what have we found in a treasure chest so far? A celestial dragon baby/shanks. 2- The symbol for St. Briss is a cirlce wirh 4 triangles, if moved slightly would appear to be the celestial dragon hoof, it may've been altered like the sun pirates symbol/tattoo. 3- all celestial dragons are called saints. Saint Briss/sent bliss( bliss maybe family or baby's name like here we sent you bliss) maybe a cd name that was made a kingdoms name in south blue. 4- Gan Fall has no wings and looks erie similar to Marcus Mars. 5-What if Gan Falls ancestors were apart of the Marcus family and were either stolen away, or taken away to protect them, either from the celestial dragons being an illegitimate child like bonnie/ginnie trying to run away, or from another danger like the attack on Marejoie by the iron giant? 6- Trepanation is an old surgery for various reasons, one to end possession/mind control of a demon, these men who died might have been possessed by Imu hypnotism/devil fruit users like impel down mindless zoans. Second lobotomy, what if Imu before they came up with hiding their existence, first tried different ways to brainwash people and started with surgery to make mindless slaves/living zombies? It also would be a physical operation to erase memories and identity like the void century. 7- A tool for trepanation in mesoamerica is called the Tumi, in the south blue there is a country called Tumi that Kuma helped to free. After kuma left a place called Gray Terminal/Brain is gray n operation is terminal to your identity and killing your memories. 8- In skypiea Luffy sings the moron song, brains in the north freeze/the giants like oars/ice continent n impel down/punk hazard. Brains in the south melt/ st. Briss is in the south blue n drilling holes in peoples heads would make brains/knowledge/identity seemingly melt away. 9- The tar on teeth is interesting. I cant think of any south blue or celestial dragons with teeth mentioned as nice or with black on them. Haha unless its Blackbeard and its tar that makes his teeth constantly look like some are missing he also seems like hes been operated/experimented on maybe trepanation made him stop sleeping n go crazy? Or its not tar but black goo excreted by imu that they pour into the holes in the heads of trepanated people to control them? 10- If imu is Lili n took over her body possession, imu may have moved through the centuries like the Highlander, except at 1st tried to become a religious figure to gain a cult following to infest the hole world and control them using fame, using trepanation for mind control, this did not work so instead chose to control the world in the shadows.

Omg i was thinking about it in a rewatch I think he was going to say: "then why are we protecting this poneglyph? (talking about protecting void century history while being founder country of the WG)
I don't think everything needs to fit with the story of the void century. This is the history of the world. The void century only matters to Imu and JoyBoy everyone else has moved on or doesn't know about it in the first place.
The feather could easily be part of a larger treasure, like a fancy hat that got lost. Or it could be the sole keepsake of a Briss sailor who had a Skypiean lover. It'd be insane to find out it belonged to someone tied in with Joyboy or Lili.
This is a bit of a stretch tekking. So.lili left Marie joies to go home to alabasta somehow ended up in the south blue started or joined the briss kingdom and game up on ever going home? That's a lil too weird even for one piece. Amazon lily makes more sense since it's in the calm belt closer to the red line where Marie jois is. But yeah south blue?
TEKKING u need to make a vid on how good jaya arc was.. so undersppreciated, so many importsnt plot points happened and people never talk about this goatef arc
I got a crazy one. What if Lili was a previous user of the Ope Ope no mi, and SHE was the one that made Imu immortal for some reason or maybe even against her will. So that's why Imu remembers her "fondly," because inside Imu's mind she was the greatest benefactor.
So 200 years ago Fishman island joins the World Government, and coincidentally the Iron Giants goes on a rampage in Mary Geoise. The St.Briss is sentenced to cloud drifting for some unknown reason, perhaps we'll never know, but the picture of the women can possibly be Lili. Now the person that has gotten my attention again is Toki. Toki said that she time traveled whenever she was in danger, so I wonder if she had anything to do with any of these events.
While I do still think the information on the St. Briss will have at least some amount of payoff, I can give an explanation for why it was included that's completely separate from it's relevancy (or potential lack thereof): It serves as a vehicle for Robin to demonstrate her Archeology skills. As far as I recall, Robin only mentions being an archeologist once she's on the crew, and it's framed as a very dubious deflection considering every scene we've seen her in has been exclusively as a shifty double agent/assassin type of character, so her claiming that she's a simple archeologist seems almost like a intentionally obvious lie. Then we see her deduce all that information on the St. Briss, complete with getting Chopper to corroborate with his area of expertise, so we know she's not just making it all up, so our reaction becomes "Oh, okay. Maybe she's actually telling the truth about being an archeologist". From a meta standpoint, the more detailed or specific the information she's able to glean from such a small amount of material to study serves to emphasize how impressive her skill is, and of course with the benefit of hindsight we know how absolutely vital her role as Arceologist actually is to the story, and therefore how important it was to firmly establish her skills, it's no wonder this information is as detailed as it is, regardless of whether it's relevant going forward or not. Again, I'm definitely still in the camp of this stuff coming back around, because we know how Oda operates, but I had to at least add that there was still a narrative function to the scene that was mostly independent of the actual information being presented
One day I'd like Unhinged Tekkingpunk to present the best foreshadowings in One Piece. As for other things that Oda never mentioned again, I still believe the final battle between the Straw Hats and the Blackbeard Pirates, will be a Davy Back Fight.
19:46 wait isnt the ship older than the nolan stuff? there was a whole thing about the map of skypea they found in the ship not including shandora bc it was made before the land got there
Maybe the crew of the St briss was looking for skypiea because someone's wife was from there or descended from sky island people, and the heirloom was the feather, but they got killed by shandians before they could even do anything 😅
I completely forgot about that shipwreck exploration scene. :o It's insane that more than decade later it surfaced again and likely connected to current and future events of One Piece.
I kind of want the SHs to reunite with Vivi, tell the story of Wano and in that story, the mention of Toki comes up, and Vivi finally reveals their connection and that she is Lili.
Where do you idiots spawn from? Just stop. You’re a danger to yourself and others. Jacob. Vivi is vivi. Lilly is Lilly. Leave it alone. Not everything needs to be time travel shenanigans. Not everyone needs to be a clone. Why do these horrible theories have to exist?
this could be retconned but in the digitally colored chapters the women's hair is brown! it could just be the sepia tint you mentioned, but since her shirt is specifically yellow, i'd like to think her hair color is anything but blonde
The harpoon through the girl's head could be a hint for Imu's tail. Lily did supposedly disappear in Mariejois after the empty throne ceremony and she did not plunge the sword before it.
Wait im confused on one point: the waver. So, what does finding a waver from the south blue, to be same or similar technology being used in Skypeia? Was it ever explained? And i think the feather means nothing, it just means the people who invaded the ship, took the treasure that was inside.
Maybe the St. Bliss had the Gumu Gumu Nomi on it at one point? If Joyboy died it makes sense to me that the one family that didn't join the WG would run away and attempt to protect it. It was said the WG never was able to get their hands on it. St. Briss being a reference to "send bliss" would make a lot of sense if it's mission was to hide away the Nika fruit.
Tho I think it would be awesome if this comes back in some way I think it was mostly to prep on skypeia and to show Robins skills as a historian considering she'd just joined
Well the upper yard was sent up about 400 yrs ago but the skypia people were there before so 800 yrs ago could make sense.. and since everyone one on the ship died , it makes more sense that no one knew about skypia.
I hope if the st. Briss is mentioned again its brought up in Elbaf. Given Giants are so old maybe some of them know of it. Maybe went there. Or were known about. Also its odd that it was put on a floating cloud but it looks like a battle happened there. Could be just them fighting for food I dunno
I just rewatched Skypea and was wondering what's up with that feather. Is that a feather from the wings of Skypeans? Or from the Southbird? We never find out.
not related to your theory, but while I was watching this video a cool thought occured to me: What if it was Lily who "started" the Will of the D. We attribute that to JoyBoy but we don't even know his name, while Nefertari D Lily is right there - the oldest D known to us. She was allied to the 20 kingdoms, then switched sides because REASONS and passed on her will for future generations - like something along the lines of "You must oppose" (and that was her crime?)
The sail has a name but no Jolly Roger so they probably weren't pirates. Given a dragon like figure head, & a name including Saint, it's probably a celestial dragon's ship. Either that or it was chartered for that purpose. Also, the name is written as "Briss." It may be an abbreviation for a name like Brisson. As far as the feather, I have no idea. Maybe a Warusagi bird stole the loot & left behind their feather as a calling card. Interesting that the ship was attacked by harpoon like spears. Probably unrelated, but the only people I remember seeing with those kinds of weapons were Crocus & Duval. Duval's harpoons were all metal though.
Interesting that Tekking didn't mention the possibility of the St. Briss entering Skypiea or in a larger scale the white seas or sky islands by the way of the far west, or whatever Gan Fal called it. Because as Gan Fal mentioned, entering the sky islands and surviving by knock-up stream is quite uncommon. How would a traveling ship even move in calm belt, let alone survive the journey if sky island inhabitants are enough to "imprison" them on a drifting cloud.
Ive seen a lot of people discussing this theory, but I think people are going to deep into this. The photo is not necesary something relevant, just because we looked at a portrait in last chapter it doesnt mean now we have to look at all portraits in one piece. It might be that the ship will have some relevance in the future but I dont think so, and my main issue is the timing, most people are forgetting that the ship they found had was like 200 hundred years old and came from the Briss Kingdom, this means that neither was an Arabasta Ship, nor could it be a ship from the void century, the most simple answer is that it was just used by Oda to show the mysteries from skypea when we didnt knew about the winged people, but people going crazy saying it was Lily ship its to much
The line of logic may have been that since the nefretari family is descended from the original 20 Kings, and pluton is an ancient superweapon from that same era, and the fact there's a poneglyph in their possession which may or may not be information available to someone looking for it. Even if he diddnt know about the poneglyph at the time, he probably planned to just go through the books accumulated in the Royal Palace since they have got a certain level more clout than other kingdoms because of their lineage.
She was clearly a previous user of the Hito Hito no Mi Model: Nika and after failing to overturn the Celestial Dragons at Mary Geoise with the Iron Giant 200 years ago retreated on the Saint Briss before succumbing to her fate with the Knock-Up Stream. And if she is somehow related to the Nefertari Family she would be a D. and she is smiling in her picture.
Okay this actually makes sense because if you look at American TV you would know that bliss is the name of the teacher from good morning miss bliss aka saved by the bell which was the item Luffy was searching for on skypis and saved the island when he hit the bell
Since the very beginning oda knew he was building up to the story of prometheus stealing fire from heaven and being punished by the gods, so he slowly dropped hints from the greek myth along the way. Knowing the end of the story is why his foreshadowing was always so good. I'm pretty sure shanks is hercules. Hercules was who finally freed prometheus from the punishment of the gods, and shanks has been working to bring back nika and protect luffy the entire time. Also, only one aspect of hercules physical appearance has been retained in one piece- his red hair, which is shanks defining aspect. If shanks is hercules then that means he's the son of im and a human woman. It also means that he's way stronger than any other human aside from an awakened luffy.
There's a lot of random boats with random stuff on board, but a locked chest with a single feather in it is odd. Perhaps it is a calling card and the previous contents of the chest had been stolen?
For me given the historical of One Piece with treasure chests, it's a miracle they didn't find a baby in it, rather than a feather lol
I mean, it only happens to future emperors and kings of pirates... Oh, wait
Yup
You assume it wasn't a baby skypian who was rescued from the chest, leaving only a feather
well, maybe a baby skeleton...
Would be interesting if the feather is linked to the mythical creature inside the egg on Gold D Roger ship.

Yeah, maybe they found the golden city of Shandora and were trying to steal gold from it. Good theory!
What could potentially strenghten this idea is the sigill they're flying aswell as the figurehead on the ship. It's very reminiscent of the celestial dragons, although more primitive in design
@@carolusreksyup, not just the design the name.SAINT!! who else mentions saint in one piece????
@@aayushnepal5223 Yea that aswell, of course! There are too many similarities for it to be unintended or irrelevant

In minutes you see the knowledge of Robin and see how they work together to solve the world's many mysteries.
briss = bliss = joy (?)
Holy fuck you're right, Bliss and Briss would use the same katakana
@@ghostbaleada Wow, I had no idea 😅
18:35 i thnk its just to showcase robin's archaeological skills and for the crew to be impressed by her...
As a wise man once said regarding treppaning, lobotomies, and other old school procedures "thank you modern medicine for not being worse than no medicine"
I always felt the setup with the Bliss was to convey the consequences of drifting.
3:06 Sabaody Archipelago Arc. Reyleigh discloses this to the Straw Hats while they are inside Shakky's Rip-Off Bar.
Vegapunk should know everything that clover knew and more. Vegapunk basically told everything clover told the elders to the world EXEPT its name.
Wasn't it revealed by Rayleigh during Sabaody that Shanks was on Rogers crew? Maybe not the first time for the readers but the first time Luffy found that out
Luffy found out shanks and buggy were port if Roger’s crew from Rayleigh. We knew from whitebeard after enies lobby.
wasn't the saint bliss 200 years old also the timeline is related to fisherman getting rights and the giant robot.
Wow. A picture of somebody resembling Vivi with a sharp object pointed through it. Not only is that similar to what Imu did to those other Wanted posters, but the harpoon is shaped like that devil tail that Imu tried to stab Sabo with...
Interesting that you bring the st.briss up considering mock town has been popping up in the recent chapters
Their is also the woman pictured on Kuma's Bible that also looks like Lili
sounds like fan fiction
Why's that I've taken factual events with probable outcomes. I may not be right but everything I've stated is both facts in the story n real life?
@@thewillofdreams6921 your theory is a convoluted attempt to rationalize a simple truth in one piece that you haven't yet realized, and it's not even taken from details in one piece. None of it is at all supported by the text.
Im is a god. he's immortal. One piece is based on the myth of prometheus and im is in the role of zeus. The gorosei are the gods of olympia, which is why they were given their names. They aren't celestial dragons. Nika is the one piece version of prometheus
Convoluted? One piece is a manga of over 26 years based on MULTIPLE myths, religions, regular/pseudoscience, cultures, engineering, technology, and history. To say that I haven't realized that it is ALL BASED ON 1, IS TOO SIMPLISTIC, AND EGOTISTICAL, for ANY human being to even pretend to know.

i wish u talk about the cobra dialogue with robin after the fight when cobra said "then why are we...." .
Omg i was thinking about it in a rewatch
I think he was going to say: "then why are we protecting this poneglyph? (talking about protecting void century history while being founder country of the WG)
I don't think everything needs to fit with the story of the void century. This is the history of the world. The void century only matters to Imu and JoyBoy everyone else has moved on or doesn't know about it in the first place.
The feather could easily be part of a larger treasure, like a fancy hat that got lost.
Or it could be the sole keepsake of a Briss sailor who had a Skypiean lover.
It'd be insane to find out it belonged to someone tied in with Joyboy or Lili.
Man that is a really good concept, I think imma take that and use it
Thank you for the video! I always enjoy watching your videos! This was really interesting to watch!

I think the Saint Briss and the information gathered was written to be an example of underwater archaeology to show Robin's skills.
6:02 underrated scene
Thank you for a great video guys
I got a crazy one. What if Lili was a previous user of the Ope Ope no mi, and SHE was the one that made Imu immortal for some reason or maybe even against her will. So that's why Imu remembers her "fondly," because inside Imu's mind she was the greatest benefactor.
Barry's a vampire?!?!?
I heard about the Stussy Sucky...
But the Bricky Licky? Daaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaang
Finally someone mentions that picture in the sunken ship, that always interests me.
When they are exploring the sunken ship, there is a panel with a map on the wall, and a GIANT land mass above the calm belt in Chapter 220
I completely forgot about that shipwreck exploration scene. :o It's insane that more than decade later it surfaced again and likely connected to current and future events of One Piece.
The St. Briss ship mast looks eerily similar to the vase head that luffy found during their underwater excursion.
I kind of want the SHs to reunite with Vivi, tell the story of Wano and in that story, the mention of Toki comes up, and Vivi finally reveals their connection and that she is Lili.
Why or how exactly would Vivi be Lili?
@@ProfWollhovenI think he means toki is Lilly? I'm not sure

I always figured that the chest with a feather was for a southbird. (Or probably a northbird in their case)
this could be retconned but in the digitally colored chapters the women's hair is brown! it could just be the sepia tint you mentioned, but since her shirt is specifically yellow, i'd like to think her hair color is anything but blonde
totally forgot about that event with the ship, would be crazy if that was a setup fore something so far in the future
The harpoon through the girl's head could be a hint for Imu's tail. Lily did supposedly disappear in Mariejois after the empty throne ceremony and she did not plunge the sword before it.
Again, Vivi, Rebecca, Shirahoshi, and so many more characters have the same face: Nami's face
Love the mustache tekking
Wait im confused on one point: the waver. So, what does finding a waver from the south blue, to be same or similar technology being used in Skypeia? Was it ever explained? And i think the feather means nothing, it just means the people who invaded the ship, took the treasure that was inside.
Maybe the St. Bliss had the Gumu Gumu Nomi on it at one point? If Joyboy died it makes sense to me that the one family that didn't join the WG would run away and attempt to protect it. It was said the WG never was able to get their hands on it. St. Briss being a reference to "send bliss" would make a lot of sense if it's mission was to hide away the Nika fruit.
great video tekking! hopefully you play baldurs gate again
Great video. I am learning so much.
Ive seen a lot of people discussing this theory, but I think people are going to deep into this. The photo is not necesary something relevant, just because we looked at a portrait in last chapter it doesnt mean now we have to look at all portraits in one piece. It might be that the ship will have some relevance in the future but I dont think so, and my main issue is the timing, most people are forgetting that the ship they found had was like 200 hundred years old and came from the Briss Kingdom, this means that neither was an Arabasta Ship, nor could it be a ship from the void century, the most simple answer is that it was just used by Oda to show the mysteries from skypea when we didnt knew about the winged people, but people going crazy saying it was Lily ship its to much
Vampire brick? Lots of garlic and maybe holy water
What was that vase made out of? It survived the plummet from a sky island into the ocean but breaks when picked up?
I am still wondering how crocodiles know the ancient weapon proton what made him think it in Alabaster

Barry looks more like a walrus than a vampire!
This cover picture 🖼️ reminds me of the picture sanji found on that ship wreck underwater 🤔🤔🤔 could this be connected?😮
What if joyboy sinked the ancient Kingdom to save it from imu (being underwater maybe protects it from imu's power somehow)

How about the random quote on the page where the ship is falling from the sky? Pretty interesting words

Can you talk about emerald city? It hasn’t been mentioned in awhile
We back!!!! Tekking plz make a video about the dots that some characters had in the past chapters. What do they know??
There's a lot of random boats with random stuff on board, but a locked chest with a single feather in it is odd. Perhaps it is a calling card and the previous contents of the chest had been stolen?
Lili looks just like Vivi but Titi was also said to look the exact same as Vivi, DNA is strong with the Nefertari
The vase has the same head as the ship so I think it’s just to connect it together
