Kubo mentioned in a Q/A that Zanpakutō can’t have double manifestations in the same era. So no two people can’t have identical swords because yeah it’s an imprint of the soul. (Central 46 though… They would probably do this if it was a phenomenon)
This is a movie you maybe watch once or twice for entertainment but yeah doesn’t stick. Still fun! Happy Holidays and thank you for an amazing year of Bleach!

Twin zanpakuto are almost impossible in the manga because the sword's powers and personality are manifestation's of the soul of it's wielder.

Toshiro is kind of the punching bag of the fandom but tbh I still like him
He's been through a lot and yes he's rash sometimes but that's cause he's young
It's extremely important to note this movie isn't canon especially since the final arc of the manga will contradict the movies idea of how zanpakutou work, two hyorinmaru cannot by definition exist
FYI (no spoiler), Kubo said in his fan club that NO two Zanpakutos could share the same name in the same time period/era of soul society, however, it is possible that Zanpakutos with the same name exist in different time periods/eras in soul society's history. (same name doesn't necessarily mean that they also share the exactly same ability tho)
For this reason, this movie cannot be more non-canonical since the whole premise of it is built upon the concept of two identical Zanpakutos exist in the same time period (not only share the same name, but also share the same ability, which makes it even stranger and more non-canonical).
Kubo also said he'd be happy if readers consider bleach movies as parallel universes rather than true history/canon while watching them.
While I consider this the weakest overall Bleach movie, it is a testament to how popular Toshiro is, especially with the japanese fans. Plus, the Soundtrack is fantastic.
There is a few manga chapter of hitsugaya's origin ,on how Rangiku recruited him into Gotei if I'm not mistaken. Also there is Q&A which kubo said something about zanpakto can be inherited , zanpakto spirit can manifest in other person after the owner dies . But not 2 person at the same time i guess
Ah interesting, that could make some sense with an inheritance of some kind.
If double zanpakto was a thing i feel like a way it could work is if a person themself got split in two and became two separate people, though that might also create a shattered sword with different abilities so idk, a possibility but definitely not one id wager on
This movie elevated on the idea of how well Ichigo and Toshiro would actually flair together.
Something I wanted to see in the main story.

The premise of this film with the twin zanpakuto is something that while not plausible in the canon is such an awesome playing ground for the film. It was awesome to show how the powers at be would react in soul society to something anathema occurring. One of my favorite movies of the 4
What's interesting is how, sprinkled throughout non canon bleach media, are concepts that end up being adopted into the greater lore. Not so much with this one though, but who knows, something might make it into Bleach Shippuden 😅
So excited for the next movie watch. That one's my favorite.
I also gotta give an honorable mention to project mouthwash's version of this movie. It's probably still too spoilery, but man I love those guys.
Truth be told, I've never really liked this movie. So much stuff of this movie irks me. It also doesn't really help that I never really bought into the Toshiro hype. Kusaka just kind of coming back with zero explanation makes no sense. The oien existing makes no sense. SHUNSUI BEING DEFEATED AND EVERYONE JUST ASSUMING TOSHIRO WAS THE ONE DID IT MADE THE LEAST SENSE. AT THIS POINT, TOSHIRO WAS NOWHERE NEAR SHUNSUI.
There is actually a Bleach novel that doesn't feature Ichigo.

The funny thing is parts of this are kind of canon if you read the Manga follow up chapter that goes along with this movie.
I had no idea there was one.
Forcing Shinigami to fight to the death to resolve a twin Zanpakuto issue is easily among Soul Society's darkest elements, not to mention a waste of skill/talent.
This sums up my feelings on this movie pretty well. I think sojiro probably could've had a zanpakuto that can make itself into a copy of another zanpakuto. This then could lead the central 46 into making assumptions about his personality which is not a stretch for them whatsoever. I actually like the idea of this happening to Hitsugaya and him putting aside his hatred of central 46 to properly investigate Aizen.
I also think Ichigo being in this movie was awkward and certain filler run into the problem of being like we need to drag Ichigo into a problem that shouldn't really affect him. Merry Christmas 🎄🎄🎄!
Idk if you’ve been told already but i strongly recommend you watch the anime for the last arc of the series “Thousand Year Blood War” as i believe the manga was rushed

About two people with same zanpakuto and power. I've felt the same after watching MHA second movie Two Heroes or something. Where Deku is giving All Might to Bakugo and he can use it right away. And in the end Deku doesn't lose his powers but Bakugo does. This was so badly written... That it mostly underwhelmed the whole movie for me.
Toshiro is among my fav bleach characters design wise and personality wise , But this movie was such a letdown in basically everything . Its especially underwhelming compared to memories of nobody and how well they executed emotional connection .
9:29 the only thing we know for sure about the Ouin is that if you equip it to a character you get +10% on all your stats
The thing is, in canon, basically every action taken by Central 46 makes sense when you remove yourself from the emotional components of it. Ignoring the Rukia thing because that was all Aizen, they stopped Project Spearhead for a good reason, forcing dead bodies to fight is incredibly ghoulish and, while they probably should have done something else, their destruction of the Mod Souls was basically the same as disposing of dangerous ordinance that cant really be stored away safely.
Same with the Visords and Urahara's group. They acted based on the information they had at the time and did what they were supposed to with what they had.
Same with the Quincy's, they TRIED to sort something out with them, but the Quincy's point blank refused to consider the fact that they were PUTTING THE WORLD AT RISK! And this is after the . Hell, even Uryu admits that the Soul Reapers were entirely justified in wiping out the Quincy's! Is the Soul Society perfect? HELL no, but its also not some corrupt hellhole and oppresses its people and commands murder on a whim. They are an organization tasked with the protection of, not just every soul in existence, living and dead, but the balance of the world where if it goes out of wack, it puts EVERYTHING at risk. Yes, they are capable of and do some pretty dark shit, but when you have that much on your shoulders, you kinda have to be willing to get your hands dirty to keep the world from ending.
Personally, I'm not a fan of the corrupt and/or useless authority figure trope. I get that its useful and often needed to get the plot going, but I dont feel like Bleach is a series that needs it. Central 46 spends most of its time dead and when they are active, they arent in a position to really...do much about whats going on. It would make more sense to me to have them be reasonable people who logically could handle having the literal weight of the world on their shoulders, not a bunch of corrupt burocrats more interested in their own power and wealth than doing their jobs. They ARE supposed to be a group of the wisest sages in Soul Society after all.

@@matiaspereyra9392 BUT ITS NOT REAL LIFE! Thats my issue, Central 46 is NOT comparable to a real life organization by any stretch of the imagination. They are in a situation where they CANNOT AFFORD CORRUPTION. Thats my point. The Gote 13 has countless laws and rules put in place to keep them from accidentally fucking up the World of the Living in the course of their duties, so I fail to see why Central 46 should be any different. There would be corruption, of course there would be, but theres isnt a mandate where fucking up will only effect a small portion of the total population. If they fuck up, they could potentially doom reality itself. That is not a situation where you can allow corruption to fester.
These are supposed to be men and women who are the wisest of a race that can live for thousands of years and their mandate is to protect the whole of reality from coming apart at the seems. There HAS to be checks and balances there, not just lip service to them. Making them your standard corrupt, vaguely evil bunch of old codgers in charge just doesnt make any sense for the setting or their established purpose.

The first and last Bleach movies are the only ones that are really worth your time.
The other ones are fine to see, but very far removed from canon and just generally pretty generic.
I do appreciate every movie for the single fact that a lot of the best music in the show originated in the movies.
This movie had so much potential, but messed up so hard. The main antagonist is an absolute manipulative asshole instead of being relatable. Even in his youth he had this "I deserve all the glory" attitude to himself where he even attacked Toshiro first during the forced battle without objecting much.

This movie is pretty rough. In fact, the way this movie handles Zanpaktou gets directly contradicted a number of times. It's arguably the worst of these four movies for that reason. Thankfully, Fade to Black is a bit better. The Hell Verse though....Well, you'll either love it or hate it. Apparently Tite Kubo doesn't even like that one.
Generally Kubo doesn't seem to like a lot of things that aren't canon. In Hell Arc they are probably depiction Hell in a very different way than what he envisioned.
@@Dragonpuncher123 No. He was actually very heavily involved with most of the movies. The only one he didn't have much involvement in was Hell Verse. He gave them the design for Hell, and the explanation of how it works and the fight at the beginning and nothing else. The rest was the studio and well... Kubo asked his name to be removed so that should tell you everything lol.
@@ZeroX7649 I'm unsure how much he has actually been involved. It seems like it is primarily that the anime team ask what they can focus on in general terms and Kubo gives a thumbs up or thumbs down. Like he he accepted that they did a movie on Hitsugaya's backstory, but in Fade to Black he reportedly said they couldn't go into Renji and Rukia's backstory. Probably because he wanted to do it himself. He is not part of the actual writting at most he might do some character design.
With Hellverse basically all of his input was ignored which is why he wanted his name removed. Which shows well that he doesn't have great control over the projects.

The two main reasons people hate this movie is because it breaks the lore of bleach and also alot of bleach fans simply don't like Toshiro

After memories of nobody every bleach movie was a cash grab with poor storytelling, some of the fights were good but overall the movies were shit
If anything I'd argue Memories of Nobody is the only GOOD anime movie.
