@@Efsaaneh Absolutely. I'm a modder myself and the whole reason i got into making mods is because i wanted to create my own stuff and see it play out in the game world. It fosters creativity as well as technical capabilities which console players just don't understand.
I think one thing console gamers do not understand is that pc gamers like to tinker and tweak. It could be mods, overclocking, upgrading
And the opposite is true of console gamers. We don't want to spend money and tinker.

I wanna like Indy games I do! But can't we get some games that look like crazy taxi graphically? Or jet set radio even graphically? I'm tired of the blocky looking games that look worse then N64 games. Just saying.

I always wondered why don't more Indie developers put games on consoles lots of indie games have sold well on consoles and people are always saying that games shouldn't be exclusive to one platform.

@@abrealgaming5649 I can give you a short rundown; the tldr is that there's three reasons usually that restrict most small game devs from being on console.
First; the code, it's not exactly easy to port a game over to consoles depending on how much game there is, and how complex the code already is when you begin the port. Not to mention re-configuring for specific control devices isn't on the table for some games.
Second; "restrictions" and "contracts" - unlike PC where a game can be made and put basically anywhere without restriction, a console requires lots of involvement from the mfg; eg, why it takes so long to put out updates, because of validation checks, and console owners get to decide on a whim if a game isn't acceptable for their platform, eg demanding censorship or "compliance" with their rules.
Third; is more of a 2.5, Console mfgs and physical stores demand an ESRB (and their reginal equivalents around the world) rating to allow a game on their box or in their stores; applying for one of these ratings is a significant cost. (I don't recall exact values, but it's fairly expensive, especially if you want to do global launches); while on PC only, you don't actually require a rating to be sold (almost) anywhere, thus, no reason to please 90% of the countries around the world for reginal launches... It's not fun tailoring a game to every single ratings board around the world when you can just stay on PC only and sell the un-mutilated version of your game freely.
(Australia, China, and parts of Europe (*cough* Germany) have very strict rules and guidelines for ratings compliance that, rarely need to be met by PC only games, since those games can be accessed in ways that "official" ratings boards still don't have the means to classify or access regularly; sometimes big or controversial games will be forced into "ratings" even on PC from these countries. But largely their focus is always on consoles and physical games. (An example of the latter is Rimwold being pulled for sale on Steam, only in Australia because it "failed to comply with regulation" specifically for showing "drug use" - Fuck the Australian games rating board, by the way... Seriously, they're worse than China.))

Yeah, that's the gotcha of the century.
Sure, when I booted up Alan Wake, I spent maybe 3 minutes dialing in the settings. Some hardware Ray Tracing here, Nvidia DLSS there, maximizing where I can here and there, adjusting mouse sensitivity... All in service of 3440x1440p gameplay, at 60FPS. With high to max graphics settings, and Ray Tracing set to medium roughly. The difference, is that I have that choice. I could have let whatever auto settings decided, but I didn't want to. And ironically, the game chose to disable RT by default, I wanted it on due to the atmosphere of Alan Wake 2.
You're doing it wrong, you're suèèpsed to spend 30 hours fiddling with the settings because that's how it works in PC world according to console peasants
The biggest problem I have with gaming on my PC is where to play?? Do I play at the desk on M/KB or do I go through the Herculean task of pressing the Win+P keys to move everything entirely to my 2nd screen, so I can sit on the couch and play on my BIG TV using a controller? hahaha... Also, looking forward to playing Fallout: London _(a total mod conversion of Fallout 4)_ later this year Unfortunately, that's not coming to console due to the console's closed ecosystems. 😂
That mod looks amazing. I guess they reworked the level up system too! Which was my biggest gripe with Fallout 4. Going to Play New Vegas and all the expansions before this comes out
@@chrism8860Fallout 4 has *You Are Exceptional* which is what Mod Fallout Londons’ team is using! There’s so many Mods improving Fallout 4 out already if you ever want to make Fallout 4 a true RPG like New Vegas.
I think it's about time console players come to the realization that all games are built on PC so in others there are no exclusives, it's just marketing.

several years back i used to stream on twitch i remember once i was playing Skyrim ultra modded the game looked nothing like in the consoles 😃 someone comes on my stream and starts to call me a cheater because i used mods that made the game look better 🤣🤣🤣

I only had to mess with settings when I didn't understand how to mod or when I was using a pre built pc that I swapped out the CPU & GPU over time.
PC can be just as simple as a console if you want it to be.
Especially if you make use of Steam big picture mode. Then the experience is basically the exact same as a console.

Mods enhance a already existing games on PC to improve visuals/content and expand on things in the game.

I've been nearly PC-only for about 5 years now (though I've been PC gaming for 2 decades now), and the "biggest downside" of PC gaming is getting crappy ports of multiplats.
Obviously there are plenty of games that don't have that issue, but it happens way more often than it should. Some companies just treat the PC market as a cheap way to cash out a 2nd time & never even fix their ports. But even with that, PC is still my preferred way to play by far.
Here’s the weird part. The PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X and S versions of Grand Theft Auto 5 have Ray Tracing, but NOT on the PC version which is kinda strange.
Blame rockstar for favoring the consoles. Those settings should be on PC. Also consoles have proper HDR support as well for GTA
Yup. And it’s actually works really good. I can understand why rockstar don’t make day on day console/pc releases from a business standpoint but that... I can’t explain it by anything beyond laziness

I dont have an issue with 30fps, i come from Atari 2600 days in the 80's so basically everything is an upgrade compared to that, however when i can play something at 60 im in game nerd heaven

Same generation, dude. I started with an Atari 2600 and a Commodore C-64. PC Gamer since the late 1990s but I always returned to consoles for a few years. Atm I end my Xbox era and go fully PC again. where I can still sta part of the Xbox community and play their games. Btw... you're not a console peasant for playing on console. Only if you act as if $500 boxes could deliver a better experience than a $1500 PC or spread BS about PC gaming or PC gamers. At the and we all want to play games. That's everything that counts. My decision to abandon console gaming after 10 years has to do with the economic development. I can't afford upgrading console and PC every few years and to buy games for both. I had to make a decision and PC is just more important, because you can do much more with a PC than only gaming.
Also Emulation completely destroys any other "exclusive games" argument. Like I can play Nintendo games on my pc, I can't think of any game that is truly exclusive on consoles these days. Like last of us, spiderman, uncharted are now on steam. So legitimately there is absolutely no argument to be made anymore.

It's pretty fun, and honestly I really only use the switch emulation since Playstation has added the games that matter on PC. GOW 2018, Last of Us, Horizon, etc. Nintendo are the real tough cookies not letting us PC players get official ways to play. I do own a switch but the games just run better on my PC so that's why I use emulation.

A little late to this video but the only time I've ever had to tinker with a game for an extended period of time that isn't just "mess with the graphics or audio settings" was when I wanted to play an old game called "Thief: Deadly Shadows". But that's because it's old and hasn't been updated to work with current systems very well and required a third party mod lol
I used to love my consoles. I never had an issue with other consoles or pc. over the last 7 years I've been a truck driver and really liked the simplicity of consoles. Mostly because of the easier updates. But around 19 months ago i got a pc and wont go back to a console, even though i understand why some people like them, especially for younger kids

@@w12266 Jedi Survivor and TLOU were a result of their developers not knowing how to port games to PC, Hogwarts Legacy was fine as far as i'm aware, and Foreskin, Gollum, and Redfall were trash heaps no mater what platform you played them on (yes Gollum and Redfall were multiplatform games)

Sony themselves are starting to realise that PC is the platform to be on. They'll make more money selling 1st party software on PC sooner rather than later. Either on Steam or via their own store / launcher compared to PlayStation. And they're definitely going to push into Mobile games. So basically their console business will be 3rd place in terms of money generated.

8:32 other than when I originally built my PC and unintentionally had both one bad ram stick AND an unstable overclock I havent had to tinker with a game in the last 5 or 6 years of pc gaming. And I do enjoy my fair share of some light QOL mods and even then they are pretty easy to understand and get working

Ok, I'll admit. My two main sources of games are Nintendo and PC. And I don't mind. Because games I have on PC like Sonic Generations, Sonic Forces, Left 4 dead 2 and SA1 and 2 can be modded in ways I couldn't on console. And that's a good thing. Because of modding, I was able to fix the audio issues of SA2, restore the graphics of Sonic Adventures original release, have Sonic Forces actually be fun with Overclocked. The literal endless amount of content left 4 dead 2 has. So why do these people have issues with that?
To be fair to GTA V it does have some additional effects in the PS5 and Series X version that isn’t in the PC version. It does have ray tracing and proper HDR which is something the PC version doesn’t have. Not sure why Rockstar is doing this though. It having RT reflections, shadows, and I believe RT GI.
Also I hate the same standard comment console fanboys make saying “most Pc gamers can’t run it”. Never mind them never checking stuff like the Steam hardware survey which shows what GPUs are the most popular. Yes mid range GPUs are the most common but the consoles are equivalent to a mid range PC anyways. Still while the GTX 1060 holds on is only because it was the most popular GPU by far from a few years back.
Also they never get gaming PC prices right and act like most PC gamers need to upgrade every time Nvidia, Intel, or AMD releases a new product.

Only "tinkering" i had to do when i got a pc was go in the nvidia control panel and adjust my global settings thats it lmao. adjusting graphics in game dosent count cause thats literally less than 2 mins of just adjusting the game to what i want to to look like and run graphically.
I’m colorblind with very poor eyesight so pc or console I have to go into the settings & tweak anyway so I was mostly a pc gamer since, until recently, a lot of the console games I wanted to play didn’t have accessibility settings.
As a guy who started off on PC games moved the console and then moved back to PC and then ultimately settled on a preference for console allow me to explain why the hell it takes so little to drive the console community into a frenzy it's that sense of whenever console gamers are brought up by PC gamers it's always about being inferior or something being wrong with us for liking what we like or playing what we play on and some of us it's not exactly the vast majority as you guys may not believe it to be can't handle being considered to be inferior and decide to lash out and social media has only made that a more prominent aspect of the console community.

Even on my HP Victus laptop I can mod Bethesda games to be really cool. PC just offers amazing modding tools and possibilities. Especially if you stick to the core of these games and don’t overdo it, you can improve upon what was already there!

I do a few tweaks on my 1650-yes im still using a 1650,bruh I can run modern games with high frame rates with little issues,so glad I switched to pc a year ago,have friends who cry and whine as I told them I sold my Xbox

Whoever doesn’t like mods or anything that enhances your gaming experience has never tried them. I know I’m outing myself with what I’m about to say, but I play FNAF Security Breach on my steam deck with a mod that replaces the robot bear guy with the robot wolf girl (saying it like that for those who don’t know FNAF) and you can also mod the game to gender flip the bear into a girl or switch any of the characters around. The console versions have worse frame rates and don’t allow any of this.
Yeah, I think I’ll risk being called a furry if it means being allowed to mod my favourite games at better frame rates over being a corporate console slave for the worse version.
I have to say I never really cared about pc gaming at all. But after playing the steam deck and seeing what a game changer mods are I game on pc also now, and I don't regret it!
Actually, Xbox always had their exclusives on Pc and even a lot on the switch. Games like flight simulator, forza, Minecraft. This is largely to do with pc being Microsoft as well. So if you buy an Xbox, or buy a PC, it’s still the Microsoft ecosystem. They even have gamepass on PC has of like 5 years ago. Only companies that have “exclusives” are SONY and Nintendo. But us PC gamers can emulate Nintendo games. I mean I have a switch and love it. But emulation on Nintendo consoles have always been a thing and very up to date. Where as SONY is losing a lot of money because not enough people are buying their exclusives

Exactly. I'd bet the farm that every one of those people complaining about PC gaming owns a computer of some sort anyway, so they're not actually saving money. They think of it as spending $500 on a console instead of $700 on a gaming PC, but in reality they're spending [$500 on a console and $400-900 on a mediocre PC] instead of $700 on a gaming PC.
Gaming PC's also generally last longer than normal ones, as long as you take basic care of them, so there's no way to splice it that it *isn't* the better investment.
The irony is the same fanboys that dislike PC gaming also claim they don't need to buy an Xbox because the games are on pc.

No matter if we have to wait or not, the quality is usually garbage, far worse than on consoles and some games receive very little post launch support such as MK1, Wild Harts, Wo Long: fallen Dynasty, Callysto Protocol and more. The whole industry is in a very cancerous state and there's no better platform imo.

Console to PC ports have always been shit
PC is better full stop, but only because we don't have to deal with the shitty ports if we don't want to.
Unlike a console, PC players get access to a lot of great games. And if a game is shit at launch? Just go play another. We're not here waiting for the next exclusive title, we have games that are designed to be played longer than 10 hours. The beauty of PC is that if a developer puts out shit, we can either brute force it with better hardware, or just ignore the game.
Plenty of these crap PC ports have poor optimization on console as well

I have to say we had some horrible pc ports in 2023 where the game ran horribly on pc to the point it was mass refunded (Calisto Protical) other games had a real bad launch and or server issues.
With that said BG3 and other games are best on pc hands down.

They legit made us wait what felt like forever for GTA PC ports in the past- and the kicker a lot of times they launched running WORSE than the console versions. Also WB can suck it, so many great games published or developed by their studios and the ports are trash, ya gotta have the coin to power through it with a xx80/xx90 series, you running mid tier hardware prepare to suffer, despite telling myself I would not fall for it again I got MK1 on Steam, old habits die hard.
Luckily I am one of those fools that spent too much on a 4090oc even so I can brute force all the shoddy ports we got in 2023. Should not be the case but it is what it is I guess (after a few decades of wishes and dreams you accept reality).
I enjoy gaming on all current and retro platforms as well. No need to war over this stuff and the consoles are way more capable than people give it credit, hell MS lets you put the thing into Dev mode for a few bucks (w VPN). You can run whatever unsigned code you want on the damned thing, it emulates, does productivity just a cheap all in one.
If CDPR can create games like the Witcher 3 and Cyberpunk on some sh*tty laptops while sitting on cheap lawn furniture like folding and plastic chairs really no limit to what can be done even with lesser machines- Which is funny in itself- they programed games that would not run on the machines they did the coding on.

I mean yeah a lot of console "exclusives" do end up coming to PC, but to be honest more and more often over the last few years, the PC version of multi-platform games has been absolute dog shit (though they do eventually get fixed).

console players have alot of these "misconceptions" about pc because thats how the platform was up untill around 9 years ago and most dont bother to check if its gotten better. you cant tell me you dont remember the arkham knight debacle, the broken dark souls port that had missing features and lower resolution than console for some reason, or the last of us port, or the broken pc ports of basicaly all rockstar games untill gta 5. there are still stories of broken pc ports from time to time, its not like its unheard of to have to wait 6 months for some games to be remotely playable. those are just examples off the top of my head but there are literal top 50 lists of bad pc ports. where as with console i can only recall cyberpunk, saints row and assasins creed unity being completlly broken and unplayable. most console users see big lists of broken pc ports and just assume all the games on the platform are like that🤷♂️
You might spend a couple of minutes rebinding the controller's keys to your preference, which you can't do on a console. Just saying
I'm not agreeing with these guys, or saying consoles are better or anything, but there is a history of these stupid "next gen GTA" PC modded GTAV videos on TH-cam where they slap a crap load of visual mods and add puddles everywhere show off their game looking better, and more often it actually just looks worse. This clip you referenced actually looks pretty good, but a lot of those videos are just GTAV with a ton of puddles and reflections.
yup console peasants still keep saying till this day all pcs cost about 3000 dollars too make you cannot use a controller too play games and use it in the living room setup it all annoying
