One of the IT guys at work was a Nintendo fan, and everytime I mentioned Steam sales he was like "yeah, I gotta upgrade my computer, I only play on my Switch anyway". Saying "I'm IT" nowadays does not mean crap, for all we know he might doing SQL in a Mac.
Yeah just because you know things about computers/tech doesn't mean it's your hobby too

i dont understand whatever thing you just said..lol I game on pc I5 4460 with gtx950 2gb and 8gb ddr4 Ram. i downoad steam then buy games, or i buy games from another launchers wherever its more cheap.but still i love STEAM LAUNCHER..Its the best thing thats made for pc gamers. If you are arguing about pc eating more ofyour electricity then whats the problem in there anyway? It uses more electricity to give me more of the better experience playing my games. And all of the best experience are provided by STEAM for me..I have STEAM community if i have any problems in games where there are millions steam users helping each other which you dont have or you may have but still STEAM is better.if you dont like hearing the truth, its not my problems that console gamers cant understand the simple logic. peace out brother.

8:20 Just want to add a step to the console side, since a new console you have to go through initial setup procedures, log in to your xbox account, or create a new one etc. Much like when you start a prebuilt PC, there is some initial windows setup you do.
"Plug and play" as console gamers know it, isn't really a thing anymore, apart from if you build your own and install the OS yourself, there is almost no difference to the setup procedure of a new PC vs a new console.
If you want to talk about plug and play, I have to bring up NES/SNES/N64/Sega Master System/Megadrive(or Genesis)/PS1/PS2 etc, that is this "plug and play" these console people keep bringing up.
@Micah Williamson That is what plug and play is though, we had devices on PC that were "plug and play", and there was no installation needed, you just plugged them in and they worked, same went for consoles.
And a lot of PC gamers don't build their own PC, even if it isn't a prebuilt system, there is plenty of services that let you choose the parts and they put it together for you, which is actually more beneficial if you buy online, since they can ensure the entire build is working before shipping it, and despite me building all my previous computers, is what I did for my last build, all I had to do was install steam.(Since I added Win10 as part of the build, I was still on Win7 on my old PC)
The only reason I’m a console gamer is because all my friends & family are on console.

my ps4 has crash multiply time in some games it and i have had times were the game stopped working and had to exit out of it to get to work again it just work is a silly thing to say

I always agree with you accept for one thing and thats price like this coming gen the xbox series x cpu is the equal to an rtx 2080 ti and i've heard thats $1,200 by itself and to fully build a pc the same as a series x cost 1,330 and your getting it for 500 or something around there.this gens one x is known to out preform pcs of the same price.

I own a pc and console. Pc is better x100 but I just feel more comfortable playing console. Idk why maybe because I grew up on console.
Grew up on console as well. Built my PC 3 years ago and never looked back. Got it hooked up to my TV and have a PS4 controller and usb extension cord for when I'm chilling in bed with ETG and RL.

me too, i have my 2,500 dollar pc but i just use it for PC games like civ 6 or humankind or dota, but the true gaming experience is by far playing PS5 probably when i boot up my PC i assosiated myself with work more than gaming

As a former console gamer since the late 80's It boggles my mind that even I find PC far superior and I am not of the IT tech field and I build computers.

yep, its not that hard..its just like how much experience you have with setting up those hardware...its just hard on choosing the best hardware calculating how much money you have, which games you wanna play and in which graphics you wanna play games..trust me its fking hard doing that..haha. And that was the most interesting thing about building the pc for me.

While on PC, we have Steam, Humble Bundle, GOG, ORIGIN, EPIC, Win10 Store, and other online retailers to buy official copies of games. Console is locked to the PS Store and Xbox Arcade.
We can use any controller we want. And a Keyboard and Mouse have more functionality and precision than any singular controller. You're locked to the predetermined vanilla controller the manufacturer gives you. Or for half the price of the console,($100- $200) you can buy a modded controller that still has less functionality than a KB&M.
Your highest end hardware is the Xbox 1 X. If you want anything more, you have to wait for the next console to release. If we want more from our $500 PC, we can overclock the CPU, GPU, and RAM for free. (Which is effectively what the X did and charged you $500 for a $200/$250 GPU upgrade.)
Before you bring up Exclusives, PC exclusives are mainly locked to the system due to hardware limitations of the console. Whether it's internal or peripheral related. Consoles are missing whole genres that the PC has because of this. What does Sony and MS do about it? Implement KBM support for their systems? Open up their system to more genres like City Builders, MOBAS, MMORPGS? Nope! They'll try to trademark "Let's Play", raise the price of their online services (that were once free), and censor games on their platform because artistic expression and a Rating system mean nothing. The consumer has no freedom on console. Sure you all can pass around your game discs, but that's about it. With GOG, I can carry my whole library of games with me on a flash drive and pop it into any Windows computer anywhere and play Morrowind, FTL, Chroma Squad, or even The Witcher 3.

@@LA_quan Now to the things I'm still not understanding, you say I'm stuck to a controller, your right but I dont want to use a keyboard or mouse that's why I prefer to play on console, that's not anti consumer in any way no one is forcing me to buy anything and I'm not missing out, the options there to upgrade but its exactly the same for you PC guys, you have the option to buy something that you see will improve performance and it's your choice, that's consumerism. no one is restricting anything from me. However, the problem I see with the argument is that censorship is needed in certain instances, not due to nudity or violence though, I also find the mindset of the anti censorship bandwagon very hypocritical, everyone's quick to jump on Sony (which is definitely up for debate I'm not defending thier choices) but are fine with games that get banned from certain regions and countries, that's censorship in its entirety and no one keeps the same energy.
@@jippojohn9290 Controller: The consumer doesnt have the freedom to use the input device they want. If I have friends come over to play RL or Castle Crashers, they can use their PS4, XBOX, WiiMote, or any device they use at home with me on my PC. If they go to your place and only have a Xbox or PC, they (or you) need to spend $150 on 3 more controllers for your PS4 just for them to play with you. Not every consumer has the extra money to spend on controllers for a system they dont own. But since Sony and MS want all the profits, you're forced to either put the money up or not play with friends. Hell, not even the last-gen controllers work on current gen. I remember putting my PS1 controller in my PS2 and playing Midnight Club with my brother.
Xbox is doing big things with their Handicap Controller. But, it took videogame consoles this long, 8-9 generations, to natively allow multiple input devices? Good job Xbox, but it's a little late to the party considering the freedoms on PC for the last few decades. And if Xbox didnt do this, their target audience would still be forced to play their Xbox with a setup held together by duct tape and a prayer.
Upgrades: Sure, they're up to the user when to upgrade, but as new generations come out, previous generations lose support. Not to mention, your upgrade is a single set of hardware predetermined by the manufacturer. The consumer doesn't have the choice of what specific parts to put into the machine. Opening a console voids the warranty, so fixing it yourself is out of the question. If a fan is bad, or thermal pads are misplaced, you can only hope your console manufacturer puts out updated models. On PC, you can pop it open, fix or replace the part, and keep on moving. The consumer has options that don't cost the complete system in order to repair. Consoles take the choice away from the consumer in order for the manufacturer to gain as much net profit as possible.
Like I said about the 1X, it was a GPU upgrade and a CPU overclock. If my PC with a GTX 660 needed upgrading, I can overclock the CPU for free; just open the bios and move a slider. The GPU , RX480 was $250. I can pop out my 660, pop in the 480, and I'm good to go. The whole operation only costing me $250. Not the $500 XBOX was asking for. Where does that extra $250 go? They're forcing an extra $250 out your pocket that has nothing to do with the upgrade itself.
They force you to pay recurring online subscription fees on top of your internet bill, game, and system cost. Some consumers don't have the extra money to pay that. So if they have a PS4 or Switch, they're getting burned the hardest. Online was FREE last gen for those systems. Now, magically it seems, they have to pay for the same service they were given before? It's all peer to peer anyway, so you're basically paying for access to your friend list. It's like your car manufacturer putting a toll booth at the end of your driveway. You pay for gas (internet), that's all you need to get your car up and running. Why are you charged a toll too?
They restrict your freedoms to ensure their profits. They're looking to line their pockets more than they are looking to provide the consumers with a quality product with plenty of options to accommodate as many users as possible.
Censorship: Countrywide bans are typically government sanctioned. You can pirate these games because they're sold in other countries. Just get a VPN.
Sony bans are on the sales level. They wont even sell you the game and you can't get it at all, period. Since PS Store is the only place to get PS4 games, you're SOL, fam.
Analogy: You can buy a game from GameStop (Sony). Your mom(govt) can tell you she doesn't want the game in her house. Just go to a friend's house or sneak play it while she isnt looking. You the consumer can still play the game.
Or: You see ads for a game and your mom says it's okay in her house. You go to GameStop to buy the game. You're of age, you have the money, and paid your GameStop membership fee ( $400 for the PS4) for it, but,
GameStop says, "That game isn't allowed in our store. We didn't like some of the themes in the game."
Since GameStop is the end all be all of what games they sell, nobody can get that game at any GameStop. The consumer is left without a game. Hopefully the game is available at Walmart (PC) or Target(XBOX) but those stores have another $500 membership fee that you don't have the money to pay just for a single game.
I understand censorship is a thing. Not everybody will like what somebody makes. But, in most cases, it should be up to the individual to make that decision. Games about 9/11 or mass bombings/ murders, or extremism should be censored in my opinion. But, nudity? See GTA, The Witcher, Steam Hentai games, Online Flash games, etc.
The main thing is charging for online multiplayer when its competely not needed sony did not charge for the ps3 and nintendo just recently started. All three companies figured out console gamers would pay for this so this leads to the consumer paying for a service simply because companies want to make more money. Good for company bad for the consumer hence anti consumer.

There was no claim in the video that there were more defective consoles than there were PCs at said launch, Joe was simply countering the common fanboy claim that "consoles just work" when that is simply not the case - as is with any piece of technology. To blindly imply that consoles don't get any issues as a point against the PC is a ridiculous argument as any piece of technology is subject to their own defects as well as the fact that not every single unit is always affected.
I've been gaming since the late 70's I built my first PC in 1990. I don't play online and I will never stream games I just want to sit on my sofa turn on my qled put in my physical copy of my few games and play. I think vocal fanboys of anything are annoying pains in the ass. Everybody go sit in your fucking corners and play your games, they wont change your mind and you certainly wont change theirs. And yes I paid 5,500 for my TV and when the biggest baddest TV comes out it goes on my wall. I have played 6 games in the last 3 years because I never buy or support EA or Activision or Bethesda or Ubisoft or Take 2 or WB so I have incredibly few options but those fuckers don't get a penny from me
