The remaster comes with extra downloadable pronouns for abby and a new minigame where you customize joels beating with various sporting equipment. Abbys back door turkey blaster scene is also now a stunning and brave unskippable 2 hour educational quicktime event.

Well, I praise naughty dog a lot because they have made very significant steps in accessibility. The last of us part two was the first game that I as a blind person was able to play through completely on my own. Therefore I am very biased. E I four one will definitely be buying the remaster and probably defending it against the haters.

@@mrbrightkills i’ll agree that the crunch was inexcusable, but the way Joel died made complete sense. His time in Jackson had softened him. Also, it went along way towards showing how brutal the world of the last of us is. It made sense

My point still stands in regards to Backwards Compatibility, which I'll admit, is more a Sony thing than just Naughty Dog, since you can't play PS1-3 games on the PS5, unless you buy it again.
Keeping a Game playable several generations later, would provide that connection and retention they're seemingly after, instead of remastering and releasing a 4 year old game.

@@harshkumar1280 is more than likely and I also forgot about the fact that it first released on PS4, yet I can't see anywhere, where it says you can get the same content on the PS4 or PS5, without the graphical upgrade.
Which means, you have to upgrade, in order to enjoy the extra content and only on the PS5.
@@chriswihulu Backwards compatiabily should be a given for a modern console, if Xbox can do it, Sony can. or maybe just give players access to legit ROMs and emulators so we can play it on PCs.

Okay. Lemme get this straight. First of all, I’ve never played the TLOU games. Now, having said all that, even *I* know that Abby has to be one of the most hated video game characters of all time. So when I heard this person said that players empathized with her? I spat out my drink laughing really hard.
The last of us 2 was so great that it sold 44% less than part 1. Many people hated the last of us 2. The remaster is a waste of time and money.
It sold less than part one because salty triggered gamers with daddy Issues couldn’t handle the fact that Joel was killed.

Who the heck got attached to Abby? Seriously, the greatest emotional connection I had to that game was my hate for Abby. I gave up on the game because I could not enjoy playing as her.
Killing off a character I loved and then forcing me to play as his murderer. Treating the dime store 'revenge is icky' narative like it was some kind of a philosophical breakthrough. It felt like I was playing a game based on a poorly written after-school special and ruined the franchise for me.
I miss the old naughty dog that used to make platformers with its unique design.

Well, it looks pretty perfect to me as a blind person naughty dog have made incredible steps and accessibility. The last of us part two was actually the first game that I could play through completely on my own. . The remake of the last of us part one included an audio description feature for all the cinematics, which has been confirmed to be in the remaster of part two therefore it’s even better than original part two in my eyes.

Whether the story is good or not is subjective and can differ from person to person, which is what all criticism really is.

They honestly failed in my opinion when it comes to tlou 2 for length and player retention as it's next to non existent

The last of us remastered had a valid reason to exist in 2014 because ps3 games weren't playable on ps4 at the time. The last of us 2 remastered could be a patch and no one would notice.

This guy is ridiculous, but I also see the controversy over this a bit overblown. The only reason this “remastered” edition on PS5 exists is because they’re almost certainly going to time out a PC release of it with the launch of season 2 of the show and they’re hoping to capitalize on FOMO in gullible consol players who seethe anytime a PC port gets any new/exclusive features. I imagine it’s taking longer to finish the PC port than it took for the PS5 port so they said “fuck it, we’ll release the ps5 one first, see how it’s received, then base the PC launch on that data so we know if we’ll need to add anything or gauge current interest in the game as a port”.
Like, I would bet my life savings that something along these lines is what happened- there’s no other way to justify it as a business venture otherwise, and say what you want about current day Sony or ND, but they aren’t that shitty of businessmen.

Cool a remaster of the game that was supposed to have multiplayer added after the original came out which is now cancelled. What a deal!
This guy praising being able to freestyle on a guitar minigame for $10 like Zelda Majoras Mask didn't exist and was a Nintendo 64 game, and came with the abilit to not only freestyle a guitar, but also three other instruments on the game day one with no extra money required. Also Majoras Mask had more soul and emotion than TLoU2 in one side quest than the entirety of that game people who played it will know which one. For those that don't it's the Anju and Kafei side quest but there are a couple of other characters who have more development than TLoU2.

Personally I miss the days when Naughty Dog made more unrealistic Games as they were more entertaining I thought, it's why TLOU interests me less than Crash Bandicoot and Uncharted, because TLOU never knew how to be tongue in cheek unlike the other two series.
And when it comes to TLOU 2 Remaster that it's a waste of time considering that Naughty Dog will probably remake it within the next three years.

TLOU 2 was just neil druckman pontificating on the "folly of revenge" while assasinating Ellie's character to make way for an OC nobody asked for.
Its like they wanted to to pull a Trevor in GTAV, have Abby kill Ellie and have her be the main character moving forward but settled for gaslighting us into liking abby and half-assing Ellie's revenge crusade because they thought robbing the audience of a satisfying ending made their game more "realistic"
You know what the line of thinking they’re using for growing more attached to characters via the rogue mode is? It’s the same line of thinking used back when the “characters are just functions” argument was made for Marvel vs Capcom: Infinite but backwards. MvC:I’s case was people not loving the characters but the functions associated with them so putting those same functions on less favorable characters would (by their account) make those same people like those characters (it didn’t work :/). Now it’s being used to bolster and support the shitty characters in TLoU2. Ya love to see it.

I think he makes all his arguments while forgetting that this is a full priced remaster of a current era game (unless you have the previous version for a 10 dollar update iirc) that introduces a guitar minigame as a selling point for you to spend 70 bucks again. Heck, he didn't even bring up the lost levels (not that it would make it acceptable for the pricing either way)!
And I completely agree with you that even your favorite games shouldn't be exempt from criticisms. Xenoblade Chronicles is my favorite JRPG series and if 1's Definitive Edition didn't add a bunch of QOL features like quest markers and Level Down, actual new graphics and a completely free epilogue chapter, I would have stuck with the 3DS version. I certainly would not buy a Xenoblade 2 Remastered for full price if it all it did was add more gifts to give Blades or 3 Remastered for 20 more levels for each Class, because not matter how much I love those games, those parts are a slog!

No Joe I kinda agree with the emotional while playing as a new character part because we got Yakuza series when you play as Majima, Saejima, Akiyama and Ichiban. But that is because the devs have try to make their story enjoyable not wtf the dude spittin out for bland NPCs
naughty dog was wrong to make my ass play as she hulk who just clubbed joel, my top 3 favorite game protagonist, for more than 10 hours. she had shitty guns too but whatever. the story was so weak in the conclusion mainly.
i have an alternate story that the last of us 2 could have taken. we go back to when ellie wants to find answers to why there wasnt a cure and why joel took her from the hospital. we go through the journey of ellie going to the hospital, with joel not far behind with tommy maybe. we incorporate the idea the actual tlou 2 game went with playing as abby and ellie during same time periods. we could have ellie making friends in the process of going to the hospital, losing friends, but actually fleshing the characters out, hell maybe even have some intimacy in the relationships with the stranger now friend (but not like abby and owen when they pound it in the boat). we get to hospital, but everyone is gone and its a ghost town and we have ellie coming to know what actually happened, and maybe them realizing there is no actual cure cuz u cant vaccinate against a fungal infection in real life. in the end, we could maybe have ellie forgiving joel or maybe not. this is just something i came up with on the fly.

Yes bc i really feel deeply connected with my (10) spartans in halo multiplayer mode! They are really important to me they are not just skins or anything! Im joking ofc those spartan cores (core is the name for a basic spartan canvas) are just skins let be fair here. The characters i do love are characters i made in my rpg’s that includes my all my bethesda charactars and the preset characters that other games have. People like V or masterchief you can count in all 16 octopath characters (2 x 8 characters per game) and on a very very low scale you can count in pokemon trainer in the pokemon games altough its more the pokemon you get attached too. Multiplayer characters dont have a bonding in any way unless youre in a mmo and youre playing a deep story with them!

Some ungrateful naughty Dog fans and PlayStation fans are praising the Last of Us 2 Remastered before it even comes out. Even though the PC optimization for the first game was done so poorly, it's extremely concerning that the same developers will be in charge of the remaster of the second game. It may be rushed and released with bugs and glitches, as has been the case with many other games like Cyberpunk 2077. Not to mention, the story of The Last of Us Part 2 is highly controversial and generally disliked by fans, while the story of the first game is highly praised. All of this fanfare for the Last of Us 2 Remastered, before it even comes out, shows an extreme lack of critical thinking and skepticism from both Naughty Dog and PlayStation fans and gamers. Hopefully, this won't turn out to be yet another example of poor optimization for PC gamers, but only time will tell.

You mention that naughty dog fans are quite accepting, but I know of other fanbases that also have the same issue. Examples include the fan bases of all console companies, 343's fanbase (even though 343 hates halo), and people who are rather blind to the state of the gaming industry and media as a whole. And what I mean by the latter is that a lot of media is corrupted by identity politics BS, as seen with last of us 2, and not a lot of people seem to catch it or even care.

The last of us 2 didnt make the characters suffer. Well i guess suddenly Joel has severe brain damage and forgot that he doesnt trust people..i have argued with these fanboys for so long it hurts. They make it clear scavengers are still attacking regularly. Theres no way joel or tommy save a stranger much less one that admits they have a group camped a little ways from their settlement.
