I have a S7Fe and love it. Because of a crazy trade in offer from Samsung I just ordered the S8+. I find myself often using it as a laptop replacement when combined with a keyboard and mouse.
I just went from a S7 to a S8+ for the same reasons as you. I got $450 in trade for my S7, making my purchase of the S8+ reasonable. I was also a little concerned about the size, but it's not so bad after getting used to it.
GREAT REVIEW!! I als got the Tab S8+ with the keyboard during their pre-launch sale and I agree with you wholeheartedly about the tablet inability to differing angles (although I look forward to next year's Tab S9 series. Have you heard anything? -San Francisco fan girl
Thank you!! Not too much yet. The rumor is that it might not make early February like last year so it could be a bit before we hear more about it. I would assume the changes from the S8 to the S9 might be small. With the major changes being the new chip and maybe some upgrades to the S-Pen. I'm hoping for more but the S8 Plus is almost perfect as is.
Cool video, dig the starting music :D Quick question: Does it get heated up while writing? I heard the S7+ was practically unusable after a few minutes of writing cos it got really hot in the bottom mid section. How is the S8+ in this regard?
Not once actually! It handles itself pretty well with general stuff. It's only when your doing something that requires that extra power that'll actually start to heat up. For example, playing a game.

I have the Tab S7+, and the form factor is right at the limit of what I can hold for long periods of time whether sitting or lying on the couch. I originally got it for the size. I sometimes have to try and read small text in PDFs, e-textbooks, and the like, sometimes while on a treadmill or (more likely) elliptical machine. With those ~11 inch tablets (very common in the Android world), I have to frequently pinch and zoom to read small text, which is annoying during a workout. The 12.4 inch Tab S7+ is just big enough that I can read small text in PDFs and e-textbooks without any pinching and zooming, even during a workout on an elliptical machine. That makes the form factor perfect for me. Other than that, I use it for light productivity work (the Android version of MS Office is great), watching streaming media, reading e-books, and doom-scrolling social media. All you need is a protective case with a built-in kickstand, a decent Bluetooth keyboard, and you've got a decent laptop replacement as long as you're not doing anything too exotic. As long as you don't need to do anything fancy, this tablet is so much better than a laptop because the battery life is orders of magnitude better than any laptop. Had I pre-ordered, I could have upgraded to the Tab S8+ for a mere $200, but even with that incredible deal, the upgrade was too slight to bother spending the money. Maybe the Tab S9+ will have enough improvements to justify the expense.
That would definitely be the Slim Book Cover which comes with the trackpad and the cover for the S-Pen. Although, its a little bit on the expensive side. There are other third party cases though that have much better looking designs on places like Amazon.
i messed with those Spigen cases but returned them, last year's Slim Book Cover is best... found on eBay for $80 with some digging, works perfectly and no more fear of a lost pen
Yeah, the spigen cases never worked for me either. I'm glad you were able to find the slim cover keyboard at that price. At $80 you couldn't go wrong at all picking it up.
Thanks! I was on the fence about this device. I have the Galaxy Z flip 3 and the Galaxy watch. I think that this will work work for me really well. Do you do any video editing on this tablet?
Not really. I mostly use my iMac for my video editing needs. If I do need to do some photo editing I do use lightroom for some quick edits if I'm not near my desktop. You can definitely do some quick video editing as well with Premiere Rush, but it's not as useful for major work.
This is true, but the only problem is that it is not as intuitive as it should be. You have to open the case anytime you want to access the pen. Not to mention that it doesn't charge the S-Pen while its sitting in there. A lot of the time you end up with a dead pen if you happen to not use your tablet for some hours or days at a time. It's useful for holding it in place but that's pretty much it.
@@KMFrequency I will say the slim cover keyboard is far more stable than the book cover and can be used like a legitimate laptop... I hated it at first, but its really grown on me

The slim cover isn't really bad at all. For my use I wanted the trackpad and the cover for the S-Pen that was a bit more practical when it came to keeping the pen charged.

Hii bro nice video Please tell this is having snapdragon 8gen 1 which is having a lot of heating overheating issues . Does this s8 plus tab also has overheating issues when used for longer time continuously?? Or it has any throttle issue

Im between iPad m1 11' and Samsung tab s8+... I want to use it for my university, take notes, use pdf and stuff but also for entertainment which one do you recommend?
The first question I always ask is, what phone do you have? The reason being is because a lot of the choices come down to what which tablet will work with my phone the best. A lot of the features that these tablets have are connected to the phone in plenty of ways. If you have an iPhone, then owning an iPad will open a lot of features that will be especially useful for all the task you mentioned. One being a feature like Airdrop which you can send files from iPhone to your iPad wirelessly. The same can be said of Samsung as well. It also has similar features when both the phone and tablet are owned together. If ecosystem features don’t mean all that much, and you’re just looking for straight notetaking, using and editing PDFs, and entertainment purposes, you couldn’t go wrong with either tablet. They both do an amazing job. Although, the Tab S8+ can stretch those tasks to its limits. With things like Samsung Dex, the OLED screen, and a broad access to some laptop and desktop like features. The iPad can do the same but not to the level of the S8+. Office and student tasks are just what I believe Samsung excels at. If you’re looking for a connected experiences across different devices, those being and iPad, iPhone, and MacBook then you really don’t need to look any further. Apple does well here and there are tons of different things you have access to, in a much cleaner user experience. Airdrop, like I mentioned earlier comes up, quickly picking up where you left off from your laptop or phone becomes available as well. There is a lot more features available and coming soon around October as well, along with the possible refresh for the iPad Pro. It mostly comes down to what is most important for your needs. The one thing I’ll say again is that both tablets are great, and you won’t feel like you missed anything if you picked up either one. If by entertainment, you mean watching Netflix or some other streaming service, the general consensus is that the Galaxy Tab S series is better than iPads because of the screen ratio and incredible OLED screens.
Not at all, the screen is pretty durable and resistant to scratches. After all this time, I have never used a screen protector on any of my tablets and my screens have been perfect. If you do decide to get an protector, it wont affect the S-Pen at all. For example, something like the Spigen Tempered Glass one works great!
@@KMFrequency Thanks for replying, hoping to get one when the price went down after the 9 series launched. If it's still pricey, probab gonna go for the S7+ (if the stocks are still available)
It depends on what you're looking for in an ecosystem. With Apple you're gonna be a bit more closed off, but you won't find a better combination of devices that work best together. In Samsung's case you'll be using Android so your options for compatibility and customization will be more open. For getting your standard task done you can't go wrong with an iPad. If you're looking for a bit more productivity and multitasking, then the Galaxy Tab will be your best choice. It's hard to recommend one over the other because both have their strengths and weaknesses.
Thank you! I appreciate the compliments! The wallpapers come from Walli, an app in the Google Play Store. I get all my wallpapers from it, for my phones and tablets. It also supports the artist and creators there as well.
The sub is very much appreciated! It can be tough sometimes, but my one piece of advice would be to just keep pushing. Make the content you want to make and don't try to put yourself on a strict schedule to making videos. The best videos are the ones that you really care about.
8-9 hours screen on time easy! At least from my usage. Depending on what you're doing on your tablet though can change those numbers pretty easily. Standby time is pretty decent it can drop a percentage or two every hour or so but generally it's good.
The lag from using Game Pass is minimal and I don't notice too much of it. It depends on the game and internet speed. Internet speed is the major factor. With action games you may notice some slight input lag, but with RPGs which just require a few inputs you don't see it as much. As I type this I'm playing Persona 5 Royal in a hotel room and it's working pretty great on a 10 mbps connection!
The age old question...I mainly stick with the Galaxy Tab. Simply because I like the flexibility it gives me. Not to mention when your talking about price. The Galaxy Tab give me most of what I want out of the box. Buying all the accessories starts adding up at some point and I like getting more for what I'm paying for. I also own a Galaxy S22 Ultra so it's going to nudge me in that direction a little. The M1 iPad Pro is still amazing though and it does some particular things better than the Galaxy Tab. Especially with continuity between devices, as well as just having a more streamlined user experience. It just depends what your trying to use your tablet for and if you care about what features you may miss out on if you jump outside your ecosystem.
Unfortunately, there isn't really a way of doing that with the Galaxy Tab at the moment with what's installed by default. Only if you specifically mean drawing over a live video with the S-Pen. There are some work arounds with some third-party software that allow you to do it if you want, but it'll require some extra steps.
@@KMFrequency appreciate the reply. Yes I want to draw over videos while screen recording to give feedback. I have installed draw on screen on the tab and it works to draw over anything on the screen but it doesn't differentiate between my hand and the s pen. I would like to be able to draw with the s pen but scroll/ play or pause video etc with my finger. Do you know if this is possible with any method or app, be it on the android side or Windows side? Thanks
@@jasonkearns9937 Just to make sure, you are referring to drawing over a video locally on your tablet correct? For instance, just on the Tab S8 and not connecting it to a second display.
@@KMFrequency yes, I have tried the draw on screen app. However it pics up finger touches and my hand resting on screen etc and not just the s pen. In samsung notes the s pen only will draw while the finger touch will scroll etc. I am looking for something similar to draw over my screen/a video. Hope that makes sense. It can be just on the tab or using windows also.
I bought into the 8+ as a means to replace my PC whilst on the go. The biggest disappointment is spell and replace doesn't work with the Samsung keyboard. If I use another app such as SwiftKey, which does spell and replace a big on screen keyboard covers half the display-Samsung are aware of this but choose not to address it. The MS office apps are also so cut down you end up going back to the PC (which I hate) e.g try creating a slide master in PP. As a media consumption device the 8+ is brilliant but as a writing and creation tool which is what I wanted it for its terrible. At £1200 (cover keyboard included) this has been a very regrettable lesson for me BUT it's more good than bad.
Yeah I agree. I dont think that the Tab S8+ is a complete replacement, I like to describe it more like a subsitute. Its there for when you just need to get tasks done if and when your PC and Laptop is unavailable or when you want to travel a bit lighter. For me that goes for all tablets. Although, there are times when I feel like the Tab S8+ can do those task similarly. At the end of the day though using an actual laptop or Desktop computer is always the more efficient choice for proper writing and creating. I do hope that in the near future tablets can get to that point where it can be an actual replacement.
How good is it for remote desktop use? I want to get rid of my gaming laptop after I finish uni next spring and I want to move to desktop and potentially use a tablet for remote access and media consumption. And samsung's tablets look really good with the s pen, the incredible amoled screens they use, and the keyboard case, an overall package that's way cheaper than apple.
@Vali N. I think it'll serve you really well for the most part. The only concern may come from the lack of compatibility when it comes to certain software, particularly the ones that are not in the Google Play Store. Sometimes they do have alternatives available and sometimes they don't. So, coming from a laptop there may be some drawbacks. As, a media consumption device it's going to be superb. The OLED screen, S-Pen and Keyboard definitely make up for a lot. You'll be completely satisfied with that, especially at the lower cost of entry. The Tab S8+ works really well as an add-on device or supplement to a PC or Laptop. I don't think it's getting to replacement territory yet but, it's headed in the right direction.
@@KMFrequency yeah but how good is it with google's chrome remote desktop for example? Like how well does the keyboard case work with it? Don't really need any software to replace since I just want to straight up remotely use my desktop with it. I'm definitely also not going to be getting it since I don't want a tablet just yet, by time I do they'll probably release the tab s9 and I'll be looking into it, so I'm just asking as a frame of reference since the next generation won't be so different when it comes to software since basically there hasn't been an improvement on that part for a few good years now.
@Vali N. Google remote desktop works a little trickier on the Galaxy Tab. It does work mostly. What I always had trouble with was input, like using the trackpad. The cursor works, but it literally required dragging the cursor around with the Tab S8s cursor so it's not very intuitive. Seems like a compatibility issue with Samsung's keyboard. Typing works perfectly but if you can't properly control the mouse correctly it's almost useless in that regard.
Absolutely! I think the S8+ is one of the best note taking tablets especially because of its larger screen. The S-Pen is one of the better tablet styluses with a great writing experience. It's sturdy enough and you shouldn't have a problem with its durability.
Loved the video akh, thank you. I'm just wondering, how did you setup your homescreen like that, it's very clean. Also do you recommend the use of Nova Launcher on a tablet? I customised the hell out of my phone and I'm wondering if I should do the same for the tablet or just stick to the native One UI.
Thank you! My setup is used with the Nova Launcher with some icon packs and I also tend to not use too many folders on my tablet. I use a limited number of apps on my tablet and thats the reason for the clean home screen. I prefer to use Nova Launcher because there are a lot of gestures that are convenient. Although, at the same time, native One UI is almost exactly the same. There are some small details you can't change but what you get is One UI at quite possibly it's maximum potential. It's the bigger screen and the use of the stylus that makes the difference. So long story short lol. Your probably good with One UI.
That is actually my home screen I set up with Nova Launcher and an app called Kustom Widget, which is what I used for the clock. As well as an icon pack too.
Sure! Although, there is the option of the standard S8 seeing as it's the exact same tablet essentially. The S8 just doesn't have the same size battery, its LCD instead of OLED, and it's 1.4 inches smaller, but it's still great and also less expensive. If you're interested in all those features I just mentioned then by all means go for the S8+. In the end though no matter what you decide on buying you're still going to be able to play Call of Duty Mobile and get everything else the Tab S8+ or S8 has to offer. You may end up using it for more than that in the long term. I myself just bought it for just note taking and then it ended up becoming one of my all purpose devices.
It depends on your need. The Snapdragon Gen 2 is really looking good for power and battery efficiency. The S8+ is a great tablet though and you'll get a similar experience barring the two factors I mentioned earlier compared to the eventual S9+. If you can find it on a really good sale then go for it. Otherwise if you feel like you don't have a pressing need for one now, I'd wait.
I want to get the galaxy tab for studying purposes because it's cheaper and honestly seems better than the iPad (screen, productivity etc.) , but Im in the apple ecosystem, is it still worth getting? I mean I can just use microsoft office and OneNote and things like that to make it compatible with my Mac right. Do you think it will be too limiting getting the tab in an apple ecosystem? Btw gr8 video, u earned a sub and a like.
I don't think that it's limiting in any way to be honest. I have a pretty good mixture of products and it works out just fine. Of course, having both apple devices is a plus, what you'll be missing out on is some continuity features like opening apps of the same type on either device picking up where you left off, messages, and icloud syncing and a few others. If it's mainly for studying purposes though, I don't think it would bother you too much. Microsoft office apps sync by onedrive so you'll be 100% fine with those on the Galaxy Tab. Like I was mentioning earlier as always they'll be working better if it's within the same ecosystem because it's easier to move things to and from. But it's not too much different if you had the Galaxy Tab you'll just have to do a tiny bit of extra work to move things back and forth. At least if it's not Microsoft Office apps anyway. The iPad is great but I understand you on the price difference and I think Samsung does a good job of making up for the lack of complete connectivity with a Mac.
@@KMFrequency Thanks alot for the quick reply really appreciate it, think Imma get the tab then, like you're saying its for studying in my case so Microsoft office is gonna do most the syncing for me, and taking what you said into consideration, I dont think Ill regret getting the tab. Subbing on my other accounts too thanks alot again!
I would definitely wait on the S23. The processor might end up being the difference maker when it comes to performance and most importantly battery life. The S22 is definitely good but I would only opt for that if it turns out that the S23 wasn't that big a difference.
According to rumors the S9 isnt coming in the Spring unfortunately. I also don't think that the S9 will have that much of a radical change, except for the processor. At this point I would say if you can find a good deal I don't think it would be that bad. When the S9 does come out, Samsung usually has awesome trade-in deals that usually reduce the price of the next one by more than half usually. If you have the previous model.
Ultra is huge. Hard to carry around. The S8+ is the perfect size. I do so much on it. Travel light with the S22U and the S8+ I leave the heavy camera gear and M1 MBP.
I agree. The Ultra would be an amazing media tablet though. The only problem is that it's far too big to use as a hybrid device. Packing smaller and lighter has always suited my needs a lot more as well.

Thank you so much! That is a huuuggee compliment! I appreciate it!
@@KMFrequency your welcome my brother
How do you get the display as the one in your thumbnail? Display as in home screen
I got that by using the Nova Launcher from the Google Play store. Also, adding some icon packs as well.
@@KMFrequency Thank you!
Hi, is the better keyboard the same as on the Tab S7+? Is it the type EF-DT970UBEGEU? Thank you for the info.
If I'm not mistaken the keyboard for the S7+ is the same for S8+ so you should be completely fine.
You j just got a new subscriber I see your new any advice on how to create some content
The sub is very much appreciated! It can be tough sometimes, but my one piece of advice would be to just keep pushing. Make the content you want to make and don't try to put yourself on a strict schedule to making videos. The best videos are the ones that you really care about.
What about the battery life bro?
8-9 hours screen on time easy! At least from my usage. Depending on what you're doing on your tablet though can change those numbers pretty easily. Standby time is pretty decent it can drop a percentage or two every hour or so but generally it's good.
Is the xbox gamepass laggy on the tab s8?
The lag from using Game Pass is minimal and I don't notice too much of it. It depends on the game and internet speed. Internet speed is the major factor. With action games you may notice some slight input lag, but with RPGs which just require a few inputs you don't see it as much. As I type this I'm playing Persona 5 Royal in a hotel room and it's working pretty great on a 10 mbps connection!
@@KMFrequency thanks so much for the reply man!
Man i gotta ask, between this and the ipad pro m1 11 inch which would you pick?
Хорошее видео! Спасибо от души =)
Is there a way to link the Samsung Tab to a PC and draw over a video with the S pen. Being trying to figure this out for ages?
Thanks
@@KMFrequency Can you share any info on the work arounds please?
@@jasonkearns9937 Just to make sure, you are referring to drawing over a video locally on your tablet correct? For instance, just on the Tab S8 and not connecting it to a second display.
@@KMFrequency yes, I have tried the draw on screen app. However it pics up finger touches and my hand resting on screen etc and not just the s pen. In samsung notes the s pen only will draw while the finger touch will scroll etc. I am looking for something similar to draw over my screen/a video. Hope that makes sense. It can be just on the tab or using windows also.

I love my galaxy tab s8 + tablet
Still my favorite tablet and I don't think anything will replace it just yet. Until the Tab S9 of course.
Is Samsung S8+ tab good for note making?? Is S- pen durable??
Absolutely! I think the S8+ is one of the best note taking tablets especially because of its larger screen. The S-Pen is one of the better tablet styluses with a great writing experience. It's sturdy enough and you shouldn't have a problem with its durability.
@@KMFrequency Thanks☺🙏🏻

Where you get that lock screen at 0:25
That is actually my home screen I set up with Nova Launcher and an app called Kustom Widget, which is what I used for the clock. As well as an icon pack too.
is it worth buying the s8+ for call of duty mobile only ?
Should I buy it now or wait for tab s9+ ?
Wait for s23 or just buy th3 s22?
I would definitely wait on the S23. The processor might end up being the difference maker when it comes to performance and most importantly battery life. The S22 is definitely good but I would only opt for that if it turns out that the S23 wasn't that big a difference.
•Hey .... Can I put sim card in this tablet•?
Yes, but it has to be the LTE version. The wifi only version does not have a sim card slot at all, but the LTE version does.
@@KMFrequency I see.... Thanks!!
Is there any heating issue in tab s8 plus
Nope. I never experienced and heating issues with my S8+. It can get hot when doing some extensive task like playing a game, but that's normal.
Is the s9 coming soon ? Should i wait or get the s8+ im torn
@@KMFrequency do u think they will change the design on s9 plus ?
I don't imagine it'll be too different. I think you'll see more of quality of life changes similar to the S23 Ultra.
It's only problem for me is autonomy wich is Bad
Optimisation is not upto the mark

Waiting for the ultra in 5g in the states
I always wanted to try the S8 Ultra just to test the larger screen. Any reason in particular for the 5G version?
Ultra is huge. Hard to carry around. The S8+ is the perfect size. I do so much on it. Travel light with the S22U and the S8+ I leave the heavy camera gear and M1 MBP.
I agree. The Ultra would be an amazing media tablet though. The only problem is that it's far too big to use as a hybrid device. Packing smaller and lighter has always suited my needs a lot more as well.
intro too loud! ( compared to your speaking voice ). I had to drop my volume, then increase it.
Just heard listened to it again and it might be. Just a bit, I'll make adjustments with the next video for sure.👍
