I know why they have the camera on the back , it is mainly for business purposes imo . A while ago while looking at a house to buy i was accompanying a real estate assessor, he was using an iPad snapping photos of the house and land , checking the quality and sending off photos while on the go , and conversing with the real estate agent , the bigger screen made it much easier to see the quality of his pics and super fast to interact with . I was impressed with how much easier the big screen made the job , and its ease to see out in open.

I’m very happy with my S7 that I got back in October. The screen is great and the speakers are fantastic. I would definitely recommend a Samsung tablet to anyone.

Had mine for two days now and love it and dont even know all the features. Thank you for this tutorial. The sound is pretty amazing on it. I did get a keyboard off amazon for like $60 and it works great with it. Also lets you stand the tablet up just like it is in a case.

The one you got is the LTE/5G variant? In some countries, they'll have the WiFi variant instead. This can be difficult because some people may have slow WiFi speed at home. Mine has WiFi speed up to 128 kbps, over 200 kbps max.

You don't need a pin, just use a paperclip to get access to the tray. Pins, like those microSD cards, have the tendency to get lost if you need them. Paperclips have saved me quite often. ;-)

Seriously? You don't know why tablets have rear-facing cameras? Some apps need a camera to scan documents or bar codes. This is especially the case for tablets that get used as part of Point-of-Sale systems at retail stores. People are not using them to snap family photos. That's what phone cameras are for.
Nice review as always Saki. However I own the Tab s7 plus and I must say that most of what you could offer on this review (by no fault of your own) is basically the same as the Tab s7 plus. It's like staring at the same tablet, even the keyboard cover case is an identical fit for both tablets. It's only taken Samsung 2 years to bring out the same tablet in my opinion.
same here im not paying anything to upgrade but samsung doesnt need to try too hard theres alot of people who are suckered into always having the newest tablet/phone ect. You wont see a real upgrade for another 2 tablets yet.
Thanks for this. I pre-ordered this guy but I also have an 11 inch M1 iPad Pro that I won off eBay for a few $100's less than retail (brand new) shipping to my house as well. Confused on which one I should keep. I know the S8 Plus has the better AMOLED display compared to LCD and the pen is included, but the iPad has that M1 chip. It's under utilized on the iPad for sure but who knows what iPadOs 16 will bring to the table.
I use the camera to scan documents when I meet clients at their office/home. That makes them instantly available for integration into my software for filing.

I received my S8 plus a few days ago yet I have not used it yet. To go to the box to power it up but just been too busy. I just did not want to do the ultra and I went to Best buy to look at it. I'm not looking for a laptop replacement. I have enough laptops that are that size and right now in my life I like the smaller devices. The regular S8 would be a great size, but what I want to do with it the 12.4 inch screen is the perfect size. Same with the keyboard with the trackpad, as much as I would like that, I think the one that I'm getting with it is going to be better as it works on the lab a little better. My surface devices with the little kickback don't always work on the lab but device is like the iPad with the keyboard that sits on its cover work a little better on the loud. My goal is to use this one lying in bed or sitting down somewhere to edit videos with the lumafusion when it comes up.
with being $400 cheaper than comparable ipad pro model with pen, I would take s8+ anyday. s8+ 128gb with discount I got it for $740. ipad pro 12.9 5th gen 128gb is $999 + pen $129 + tax = $1200. it is $740 vs $1200.. with this much price difference, I don't care M1 chip is 2x more powerful than snapdragon 8 gen 1. snapdragon 8 is good enough for multi-tasking and I don't play game much. it's not like m1 can beat my rtx 3080ti equipped pc or ps5 and xbox one x. :D

Just bought a tab s8 plus 5g at verizon. They said you can't call or text on it and other US carriers don't either. Call and text is not under advanced features either.
We have amazing tablet like these but with Android it feels like you can't utilize the full potential of the tablet. Makes me wish MS would come out with a similar Tab with Windows 11 OS properly optimized along with MS version of DEX. That imo would be what can really compete with Apple.
The point is that most people use tablets for simple things. Ilove the android tablets and they are a bit cheaper as well in comparison to apple. I have had both but I prefer the Samsung tablets. I dont really draw on the tablet. I mostly write, game, internet, listening to music, watch movies and shop on the tablet. These things are feeling better on the tab s

Depends on which other devices you have mostly. If you already own a mac and an iphone the ipad is a no brainer because of the intuitive way apple devices work together. Otherwise I would go with the tab s8 plus just because of the better value you get with the free s-pen, the sd card slot and the free keyboard you can get sometimes (depending on the deals in your area). I personally use the ipad 11 pro and had the chance to test the samsung s8 plus for a week as well. Despite from the user interface and software both perform very similar. Both are top quality.
I received my Tab S8+ today, when I move close enough to see the screen, I can see slight noise on the display and also a slight green tint when dark mode is turned on, is this normal with an AMOLED display. Especially, in grey areas like the background grey color in the notification panel where Device Control and Media output options are and in the settings area. It isn't at all noticeable at a viewing distance but if I look close enough I can see that. Should I keep the tablet or replace it. I'm confused, and not sure if it's a display problem or it is supposed to be like that.
I wish the power button and volume rockers didn't feel so similar, something needs to be done to prevent accidental pressing of the power button when I try to turn up the volume.
I ordered 1 but I am disappointed in a couple things, I am shocked at the display quality compared to their ultra phones... this should have higher peak brightness AND ltpo. I also think it should have same camera setup. I mean they have this stuff and use it in other android devices so why not here... Smaller tangent but still annoying is the lack of headphone jack

If they are going to bother putting cameras make them the same cameras they already have and use on other "flagship" products since this is a "flagship" product. Also If I want to take photos with it, I shall. Its not crazy to think a device so much larger than a phone that DOES feature a camera system should probably be a better camera system, and if it were a better camera system I would use it more than my phone except in the 1 caveat that makes smartphone cameras so good, we have them on us at all times so when I need to snap a shot that I didn't set up for, I can.

Someone who has a tab s8 ultra will most likely have a flagship phone. What's the point of driving up the cost of a tab to increase camera quality that most people won't need? I use my tabs camera alot, but when I take proper photos, I use my s22 ultra just like Samsung intended.

I ordered 1 but I am disappointed in a couple things, I am shocked at the display quality compared to their ultra phones... this should have higher peak brightness AND ltpo. I also think it should have same camera setup. I mean they have this stuff and use it in other android devices so why not here... Smaller tangent but still annoying is the lack of headphone jack
why would you want the same camera set-up??? lmao tablets like this are NOT meant for taking photos (like we do with phones)...

If they are going to bother putting cameras make them the same cameras they already have and use on other "flagship" products since this is a "flagship" product. Also If I want to take photos with it, I shall. Its not crazy to think a device so much larger than a phone that DOES feature a camera system should probably be a better camera system, and if it were a better camera system I would use it more than my phone except in the 1 caveat that makes smartphone cameras so good, we have them on us at all times so when I need to snap a shot that I didn't set up for, I can.

@@williamg7138 nah wouldn't do that but also no point if phone is superior. I just see it as the tech exists so why not plug it into a product in the same "ultra family" of products. There is a time and place for using the camera on tablet and when I do I want it to be just as good as the phone
@@nukert658 there's alot of use cases for a camera on a tablet but most of them will be restricted to video calls and scanning docs. Someone who has a tab s8 ultra will most likely have a flagship phone. What's the point of driving up the cost of a tab to increase camera quality that most people won't need? I use my tabs camera alot, but when I take proper photos, I use my s22 ultra just like Samsung intended.
