bought mine yesterday, should arrive this week. Good thing that in Brazil the s9 series came with the keyboard cover + pen + charger in the pack for the same price. You can't sell electronic devices without chargers in Brazil by law, so it comes with a very basic one if I'm not mistaken (15w), but the keyboard cover was a surprise. All versions come with it and featuring PTBR keyboard (ABNT2 config). But its still a very expensive device, so even with the extra items it still requires a lot of planning and study before purchasing one.
I bought my S9 on a whim and - I have not put it down since. I use it for everything. It's quick, is pleasant - I can make phone calls..... My phone has been replaced at home
Would you recommend I get this, the s8+/ultra or an actual laptop for uni? My major doesn't require anything crazy just pdfs and office apps, like word and all that I'm a bit concerned about wether I'll be able to run office on these tables or no.
what was the issue with the keyboard hinge - you mean the 2pc/ detachable cover right? i dont have one but i was planning to buy since it seemed easier to switch covers when i don't need the keyboard.
The hinge that props up the tablet becomes loose over time, and doesn't hold the tablet up anymore. Had 2 of them with the same problem some time ago so I just stay clear of them - especially for how pricey they are and other very similar options that are way more affordable
Well for JUST studying BOTH tablets will be almost overkill - so you can't go wrong. At this point even 3rd party accessories for samsung tablets are just as good as apple ones (magic keyboard style cases etc.) - so first it's the screen ratio. The s9 is long and thin, the ipads are more square - it's nicer to watch content on the s9 (smaller black bands), but it's nicer to take notes on the IPAD since it's a larger surface area. Same thing with multitasking - the larger display area of the ipad would make multitasking easier - but remember that the IPADS don't have dex, only split screen. Okay so I probably made the decision harder? Look at your other devices, and what apps you are using since some are only made for specific devices.
I think the new Dex is good for my use case where I didn't want a full on desktop experience, but still like popup windows etc, if they only allow to use the second monitor and extend instead of mirroring only.
Just found your channel and ordered an s9 plus renewed, arriving next week. I got the paper like screen protector, do you have a recommendation for a non-keyboard case? I have an HP Envy 360 laptop so don't need a keyboard, just a companion to the HP. Thanks in advance!
I think for a nonkeyboard case any that folds on itself is perfectly fine, just avoid hinges by samsung. Folding ones don't carry much strain from the device so they generally last a long time. Hinges are the most likely to fail.
@@ChilledFossilofficialoh man I love this thing so much. I got the s9 plus 256 gb renewed under $500. Glad I found your channel. Your real world use reviews are great, ignore the haters and keep them coming
Dex : no permanent favorites bar in any Webbrowser apps. No Cloud Support = taking a picture and put it on the desktop (or a pdf file)... Dex has never been tested by Samsung employees. They all use Apple products like Google and do not test their products at all before launch...
Got the same tab around 2 months back. Does what I want it to do (gaming, split-screen productivity, watching videos). Only "complaint" i have (which might not even be samsung's fault) are some apps don't work (well or at all) in landscape. FB defaults to portrait (and cant be changed to landscape) unless you split-screen or floating window. No dark mode (for FB on tablet) either. Discord, you lose the "send" button if you splitscreen. (Rear) camera exists, and would be nice if it was better, but that's what phones are for these days. Everything else, good. At the very least, it STILL has expandable (microSD) storage, which is more than I can say of other brands.
@@ChilledFossilofficial all those issues AND non-expandable storage. No, having a portable ssd hanging of the thing doesn't count. And paying a few hundred extra for storage upgrades, heck no lol
Most people, especially students, will only have a tablet as a complimentary device. I do not recommend just turning up for Uni with a tablet, primarily if the school uses specific software. You can type away on the laptop and use the tablet for drawings, maths, and more tablet-focused work. You can get Apple or Samsung tablets and laptop combos for nearly $1000 or go secondhand for less. Or if you can afford it, there are more pro alternatives. Therefore, having SD storage on a tablet is not as important, and this is probably why iPads sell so many; it is not a significant ask. I don't use my SD slot on my Tab S.
If some apps do not have optimization for the big resolution of tablets, try downloading their website as an app. Once you download them basically you have an app that is similar to their website ui.
Hmmm what kinds of apps/programs are you downloading? I haven't had a general slowdown issue but some updates to specific apps have caused crashes at times.
@ChilledFossilofficial genshin cod honkai star pubg the list goes on but my one plus is faster smoother and handle much better my guess Samsung want to save battery si they downgrade during a software

Ha, thanks for that tip, I just checked it out. I've heard that Samsung is gradually gutting Dex, but I always thought it was a great feature.

Which one should i go for ipad air m2 or samsung tab s9 , for studying and media consumption

Can you share with us the link of the Paperlike screen protector for S9+ that you spoke about
Yeh check out the description its in there
What would you suggest iPad Air M2 or samsung tab S9? My main priority if for note taking and drawings I don't mind the refresh rate.😅
s9 without
doubt
S9, only the iPad Pro is better and that’s quite a bit more
ipad air have much brighter display and a better processor so better battery backup for longterm. For rest of the things samsung is great.
Can I take this for note taking and some entertainment purposes, no gaming or heavy multitasking????
Yes it's MORE than powerful for your needs
It's an amoled screen vs an IPS screen? How are the screens the same?
I just got the s9+ and i have noticed that it only lasts 3-4hours. Is it because its just the beginning. Idk im stressed about that issue

As an artists paperlike is best for plastic nibs , spens rubber nibs will die quickly on paperlike screens and spen nibs are better on tempered glass
Is it discontinued? I can t find it anywhere
