- Tonight on DSP Lies It, we look at the Viewbot + Fake Engagement that occure on todays day stream. We look in to what exactly occured and how it can negatively effect DSPGaming's future.
Plus Phil insults me under my sock account because he couldn't answer my question like a "MATURE" ADULT....
This was cooked up by deranged fanboy oic and greedy phil isn't going to pass up an opportunity to make a quick buck. Just let him hit it already phil.
Teamico has existed since 2009 according to his channel, which is before OIC. This could be OIC's original account but we just don't know.
I find it funny that as soon as Teamico started bombing and the viewbots appeared that OIC and Emil started bombing as well. So it could be OIC but I just dunno.

He could've had VOD's on the channel and removed them, but yeah it does seem very sus to have a channel that old and not have anything on it. Could be OIC's original handle on TH-cam.
Phil has used bots in the past. He had internet issues and got disconnected, more than half his viewers just disappeared and when he came back, the viewers all came back within seconds.
This is true and Piece Of Peace did test this once on his stream, it wasn't as quick as Phil's drop off but it still occured.
I do believe Phil has used Viewbots in the past personally. But yesterdays shenanigans was blatantly obvious.

Phil's reaction and trying to act like it was a raid that brought those bots to his chat makes him look so bad. Very guilty. Even if he didn't know he looks involved.

Is anyone gonna believe that he just happens to get 2000 more viewers than usual in just one stream while someone has to tell him to remove sub only mode so that he can get 400 new gifted memberships and Then everyone including the new members just leave ?
At one point he had 5200 more viewers, nearly doubled his membership count and increased his subscriber count by 19000....

that's the fakest 'surprise' I've ever seen. It also doesn't jibe with how Phil has acted when getting tips on running his channel from viewers or when getting legitimately raided in the past. In both of those cases he's been as nasty as I've ever seen him. Now all of a sudden he's super kind and saccharine. It's just out of character.
We'll never really know but I think Phil knows far more than he's letting on.

This is the only explanation that I would agree with that Phil may have been in on it. He wasn't his smug arrogant self when it was happening. When in the past he would sit back and expect praise and admiration for how successful he is.
The only portion I can not agree on is him turning off Sub Only Mode and Slow Mode. The reason why I disagree with this part is it really backfired on him. Sure the bots got the gifted memberships, but so did alot of detractors. The trolling will reach an all time high now for Phil. We will be able to sku even member polls now. Or nominate a game he will completely hate.
Again I don't believe he knew what was going to happen, but instead of curtail it he embraced it and didn't care that he was breaking TH-cam TOS over it.
I think TH-cam needs to add a verified system to accounts that want to accept memberships or subscribe to channels.
This could be done easily, just like how Twitter has the verified check mark.

Like AltInsider said, this time feels different. What people need to remeber, don't use the report button on the live stream, nor should you use the report button on the VOD. Use the report button on the ABOUT page of the channel.

Phil has a false sense of immortality. He's survived so much on TH-cam as opposed to Twitch or BlipTV.
If he does get banned where does he run to? Odyssey? Probably not every detractor has already registered DSPGaming, DSP, Darksydephil etc etc. He can run back to twitch and beg for tips but its unlikely he get affiliate even. Most likely he tried to get affiliate 6 months after getting yeeted from the partner program and nothing came of it as he slandered the shit out of Twitch.
If another ban happens my guess is it will either happen on Patreon or PayPal. PayPal is more likely as he's stated he will provide no refunds/charge backs which is against PayPal TOS and really isn't up to Phil in the first place.
I wouldn't get too hyped on Phil being reported. If TH-cam hasn't done anything to him after all the things he's done, nothing will take him down. It is funny though.
We we already know that Meerkat reported him on Twitter and we know of many others, we also know that Snorlax reported him to PayPal.
If there was a "Breaker" that TH-cam used to see strange happenings then that could trip and investigation, but I know nothing like that on TH-cam.

I think the big tell on phil having some sort involvement in this is him opening up his chat from subscriber only, like is he actually that curious? given just how defensive and recluse he is ? given how he does all he can to limit the good samaritans from derailing his stream? and the moment he opens it up gift bombs start dropping, like idk its kind of a reach from these whales to "guess" that phil would do that if they got his view count high enough. Also in the later stream he addressed it as being bots and he knows but just kept repeating there's nothing he can do and is certain TH-cams AI is aware that his channels growth was the work of outside forces not on his own doing. guy was praising TH-cam for something, you know there's something going on when he does that lmao

Nope, the raid is initiated by the streamer watching Phil. At first people thought it was PewDiePie but he wasn't streaming at the time. Phil thought it was XQC or Nim but they stream on Twitch and you can't raid from another platform, too much for the Pigroach to understand there.
The problem that occurs if someone raids Phil's chat is they can't speak in chat due to 24 hour sub only mode. Phil disabled this and slow mode once no one in the chat could accept the Gifted Memberships. Phil reached the max ammount of people so now a bunch of detractors have it as well as the bot accounts. This is why I believe TH-cam might look in to it, as its out of character for the DSPGaming to have that many viewers and members just out of nowhere.
You need to enable the acceptance of GIFTED MEMBERSHIPS on your end, which is what I did and how I am now a member under my sock in Phil's chat, LULz. Probably banned though after I asked my difficult quesiton.
I have the night off, got up clicked on TH-cam and oh boy did I miss some action today! Although we all want him to be held accountable, you are always a fair and informative creator. Off to report him. AGAIN.

Phil will not get banned as he wasn't the one that was using the view bots.
Like I stated, I think it came as a surprise to Phil when it started happening, thinking he was getting raided. But quickly he realized it was view bots. He could've taken action to stop it but he didn't.
Worst case scenario is TH-cam shuts the channel down because of Policy Enforcement, but Phil is allowed to create a new channel.
He's not getting bannded so its not ban evasion.
Phil was in on it. The only way these gifts could get accepted was by bots. Planned and executed the way he wanted it to. Then he tries to cover his ass. Total planned scam.
If this is the real OIC, were you in on it and that's how you know Phil was in on it as well?
Or is this just another way to play both sides again? And if so if Phil has his channel taken down or demonitized because of it, you might lose your best friend, but there will always be Wings and LTG to support.
Again I doubt Phil was in on it, he's not able to do 4D Chess like use detractors who have IQ's way above that of the Pigroach.

If he doesn't report the bots and requests the membership removal (which he never would). He should be demonitized. But he won't....he'll just bitch and blame TH-cam's system. "It's not my fault...I did everything correct"
That was my question to him under my sock account, and of course he attacked me and gave the simple answer to "I did everyting right and nothing wrong".
Many years ago (probably around Phil's peak) I was working as a school teacher. On the side and in (sort of) secret I was making game review content. I had grown a little and become eligible for monetization based on the rules at that time. My adsense was showing an amount under $1 for months...but slowly I was building to that $20 amount that you could cash out. Suddenly after about six months I had a huge spike in views and my adsense shot up to nearly a $100 pending pay out. When I rolled around to close to payout time I received an email explaining that due to suspected fraudulent activity my adsense account had been banned. I found out that a student had learned of my channel and spread the word. A handful of students (that thought they were helping me out) had submitted a few of my videos to some viewbot thing that used a browser extension that they had installed in every computer in the schools computer lab. Additionally they would open videos during their class apparently and click ads in an effort to help me make more money. Well...I guess I appreciate the sentiment but the plan backfired obviously. My appeal was ignored and that was it. TH-cam career destroyed before it even began. I did learn that if I had reached out to TH-cam and said that I believed something fishy was going on they would have simply removed the artificial bump and I would have been in the clear. In my case I was ignorant (and honestly that's not an excuse I should have really read the TOS better. In Phil's case....he's willfully ignoring the fakeness because he'll get paid.
How do viewbots accept gifted memberships?
Good question Daniel, and this is just an addon to your other comment.
It depends on the type of Bot used. The simplest bot is just software that runs in the background on the PC that just adds a view.
The more sophisticated bots will use AI based algorithm, of course a channel has to be created for said bot, and that is where your questions about verification system would come in to play to deter the use of this type of bought. In order to accept a gifted membership and even post on a channel there must be a TH-cam user account and a viable channel setup under that bot. This is not difficult to do and would run along the same lines as the scalper bots that you see on many tech websites buying up newly released hardware.
Then you have your companies that are actually real people. You pay these companies and they might have 50 staff on hand that will then go and join your channel, stream or what not. This is the hardest to combat against as they are real people. They however are not there to engage but to just give you better analytics. Basically you are paying for engagement.

Also why does he private his stream?
Many many reasons why he privates the streams.
1.) Upload 3 to 4 VOD's will see increase engagement over 1 live stream.
2.) Spamming of Inboxes if you are sub'd or it is recommended to you through the algorithm.
3.) Double dipping, Phil already see's a view and a live on a live stream, but if he privates the live stream he will lose that engagement. But now he has that live stream cut up in to 3 or 4 parts, he now gets 3 or 4 views and likes instead of just 1. This is fake engagement and if TH-cam investigated would probably give him a Community Guide Lines Strike.
4.) Falsely increasing the amount of content on his channel. As Phil states he has 62000 videos on his channel, divide that by 4 and that's probably closer to the real number.

Since I have been both live streaming and uploading to my channel I noticed a large difference in the way TH-cam offers IMPRESSIONS. A live stream (left up) will get a LOT more impressions than any video I upload to the same channel. I think TH-cam is pushing live content a lot more than my uploads. So I think Phil is shooting himself in the foot with his re-upload schedule. Plus, at the end of 'part one' TH-cam will offer you a selection of videos to choose from and you have to manually select 'part two' which is a chance to make a different decision. Once people are watching your longer live video, they are probably more likely to just keep watching. This would mean that Phil would be better off getting longer views on a longer live than cutting it up and reuploading it. He could even put more ads. in the longer video. I can not understand his backwards, dated thinking on this issue. Honestly TH-cam likes live content and will push it. It is idiocy to private the lives. Idiocy to make more work for himself by uploading in segments.
I am pondering doing a video on VOD's Vs Live Stream as it pertains to Phil and the analytics. He would definately benefit more if he just uploaded the Live Stream, but then he wouldn't be able to spam inboxes and double tip for views and likes.

Good way to weed out toxic streams on TH-cam is to watch the subscriber-only settings. Even a 5min subscriber-only setting is a red flag to avoid that stream. I’ve never seen Phil’s lower than 24hr. No streamer on TH-cam would ever knowingly raid a streamer with a 24hr sub-only lockout. Real 62iq move Phillip
Sub only mode is usually just used to keep trolls out because people are too puss to deal with ribbing.

It’s unlikely for there to be any consequence unless it can be proven that dsp paid for the bots. Not sure of the wording in the ToS, but if someone can get taken down or in trouble because of someone spams their account with viewbots, could be weaponized.
I don't think YT cares who paid for them, but who benefits most and _gets paid_ as a result of them.

I personally feel DSP kinda knew about it, or maybe Icogamer told him about some "plan" he had to gift him a bunch of members. The reason I say this is because DSP HATES when "random" people join his stream. He was also raided many times on Twitch and he was never "thankful" for ANY of them, many times he would even order his own chat to spam frog emotes to "fight off the raiders"; but now all of a sudden when some dude wanted to drop 300+ gifted members, he wants to talk to the raiders and do something he would normally NEVER do which was open up the chat and taking sub only mode off so he could "talk to them". I am sort of 55/45 on this leaning towards he did know something about this, but I just find it INCREDIBLY suspicious that that day of all days he acts completely different towards raids / a bunch of random people joining his stream.
i disagree with Prophet about ICO, OIC has done this in the past to "fight" detractors so i know 100% ICO=OIC. the build up to Phil losing 120 gifted subs was coming and the channels were all prepping for his break down. OIC knew Phil was gonna rage on friday.
