When I did networking, I could not get into the modem unless I was somehow connected to the network.
Unfortuantely no. Phil's MAC ID's have been leaked for all modems, computers, phones, consoles in the home. This is worse then an IP leak. MAC's can't be changed and its a physical hardware ID. Changing a password or admin wouldn't help, if the Comcast Troll is real he can just simply reset the signal at will.

I have Xfinity nnd I was having the same internet issues he was having on the same day. My internet would drop, come back up, drop again, come back online, etc. I think it was just some kind of thing that was impacting service nation-wide and all that. I think what's happening is that his line has degraded to the point of no longer being able to maintain a stable connection. They told him that he'd be responsible for the cost of replacing it and he's refusing to pay for it out of pocket. The story is to cover his ass and make him look like the sympathetic party while shifting the blame to someone else.
i live in a condo complex and my net was randomly turning to trash after a year of living there and the cox guys came to check it out (cox is the net choice for a lot of soCal people). The dude plain as day told me my coax lines in the walls are screwed and it was because of rats. Rats were dealt with but the damage was done, i had the guy give me a new line over the top of the building and drop it in to my little yard out back. Problem solved, If i want to use the old line well.... thats out of my pocket because the lines are in the walls.

Yes, lawyers would represent anyone pro bono for Phil IF he had a case (which he does not even IF we accept Phil's claims at face value). Lawyers are incentivizes to represent people pro bono for continuing legal education credits and many law firms encourage it for a lawyers' required yearly hours.
My problem with his screenshots is that the xbox, laptop and desktop all show up on the same modem: only the desktop is connected to the upstairs modem and that is not connected to the downstairs so all 3 shouldn't show up

I'm not sure what goes on under the hood when an employee accesses a modem remotely. I'm going to guess there is an identifier involved that would link right back to that person. This has been going on for two days, at the most. I could believe a dented newbie getting over zealous when he saw DSP on the system. I can't believe a years long conspiracy. Even when Phil potentially has a story to tell, he has to blow it up. He turned a wellness check into GUNS DRAWN, after all. I have more questions: This guy allegedly does it during business hours. A MAC Address is a hardware ID, it can not be changed as it's physically part of the hardware, it can be tracked and traced just like an IP can, but an IP can be changed where as a MAC can not. It's the worst case scenario for Phil, I don't even think he knows what he's done.

Whereas there ARE things you can do remotely with someone's IP address. There are couple minor things they can do with a mac address, but it would require them to physically be at his location and inside his network. And again, those are minor things. uhhh With telus ive been able to use my own modem, Still have to use the provided fibre box but my self own modem works and runs fine, dunno if youre east coast and stuck with the east coast providers or something, or a Shaw user but Skill issue i guess Good video on phill though
West coast, we can't use our own modems, we can bridge and use our own routers, but Telus and Shaw/Roger's refuses to let us. I'm on Rogers/Shaw residential at home and Telus business at the shop. If I could I'd be using CM2000's from Nergear with an Asus Mesh setup at the shop and probably a CM2000 and an Orbi WiFi 7 at home.

@@LunaRosalie Yes Telus phased out the T3200 to use the Nokia fiber box for all purpose since it supports the same function. Even if you don't have fiber they give you the box regardless as the main modem. What I am talking about is what they get to do in the states. You can internet from Comcast but you have the ability to use any 3rd party modem that is docsis 3.1 compliant. We can't do that here in Canuckistan unless you are on a partner supplier like Wind or whoever else offers Interwebs but uses Rogers, Telus or Bell as a backbone What I would like is the Netgear CM2000, it has one ethernet out, it would then go to ther ROG Rapture GT-BE98. No bridge mode needed since there is no WIFI on the CM2000 its just a straight modem. Again if the ISP's in Canada allowed it and if I had the money...

Whether or not it’s true they did mess with him is up to speculation.

I have Xfinity nnd I was having the same internet issues he was having on the same day. My internet would drop, come back up, drop again, come back online, etc. I think it was just some kind of thing that was impacting service nation-wide and all that.
I think what's happening is that his line has degraded to the point of no longer being able to maintain a stable connection. They told him that he'd be responsible for the cost of replacing it and he's refusing to pay for it out of pocket. The story is to cover his ass and make him look like the sympathetic party while shifting the blame to someone else.
i live in a condo complex and my net was randomly turning to trash after a year of living there and the cox guys came to check it out (cox is the net choice for a lot of soCal people). The dude plain as day told me my coax lines in the walls are screwed and it was because of rats. Rats were dealt with but the damage was done, i had the guy give me a new line over the top of the building and drop it in to my little yard out back. Problem solved, If i want to use the old line well.... thats out of my pocket because the lines are in the walls.

What's the ramifications of exposing the Mac addresses?
A MAC Address is a hardware ID, it can not be changed as it's physically part of the hardware, it can be tracked and traced just like an IP can, but an IP can be changed where as a MAC can not.
It's the worst case scenario for Phil, I don't even think he knows what he's done.

Whereas there ARE things you can do remotely with someone's IP address. There are couple minor things they can do with a mac address, but it would require them to physically be at his location and inside his network. And again, those are minor things. West coast, we can't use our own modems, we can bridge and use our own routers, but Telus and Shaw/Roger's refuses to let us.
I'm on Rogers/Shaw residential at home and Telus business at the shop. If I could I'd be using CM2000's from Nergear with an Asus Mesh setup at the shop and probably a CM2000 and an Orbi WiFi 7 at home.

@@LunaRosalie Yes Telus phased out the T3200 to use the Nokia fiber box for all purpose since it supports the same function. Even if you don't have fiber they give you the box regardless as the main modem.
What I am talking about is what they get to do in the states. You can internet from Comcast but you have the ability to use any 3rd party modem that is docsis 3.1 compliant. We can't do that here in Canuckistan unless you are on a partner supplier like Wind or whoever else offers Interwebs but uses Rogers, Telus or Bell as a backbone
What I would like is the Netgear CM2000, it has one ethernet out, it would then go to ther ROG Rapture GT-BE98. No bridge mode needed since there is no WIFI on the CM2000 its just a straight modem.
Again if the ISP's in Canada allowed it and if I had the money...
