I was always aware how paranoid Phil is but him actually saying that he is scared to restart his upstairs modem because he needs the internet took it to a whole new level for me.
I had a similar problem with my router. How did i solved it? Restart the Router.
@@Chengeist That's usually one of the first things to try. Next to restarting your PC. I read somewhere in the comments that he never shuts down his laptop. That way, you are going to miss out on updates. But also restarting your system often fixes bugs that come out of nowhere. This is so basic.
@@chrichtonsworld1 he doesn't shut down anything, not even for updates, he is a firm believer of "it works now, why would I update it and break things?". if he can away with never having to restart anything he will, because he's that lazy
I’m also an IT guy and this saga was infuriating. He’s paid by Google and has no idea how to google anything. That’s like 80% of what techs do. You read the documentation or you google it. Or you’ve done both so many times that you already know the solution.
This is a prime example of learned helplessness. You know that thing women complain about where the husband does a basic task so incompetently every time until the wife gives up and does it herself? That’s DSP and his chat. He acts so incompetently and just looks at his chat for a solution. This is supposed to be his livelihood and he has no idea how to do anything. But even worse, he refuses to learn. So he just sits there until chat tells him what to do. He does this with tech problems. He does this with video games.
I think they covered this in South Park the other day.
Did he seriously not think he should go onto cellular data or onto the Hotspot before, y'know, RESETTING the modem?
The chat literally disconnected when he reset it the first time and he seriously thought the chat wouldn't disconnect again if he did it the second time. He's seriously dented.
When he tries to pretend he is a techy it boils my brain fluid... i fixed this same issue last week myself.. it was a basic router issue, restarted modem... didnt work. Reset the power on my wifi router... worked, instantly better speeds. 😂
then.. Phil also bragging weekly he has TWO business lines, yet does not call comcast to utilize the 247 business support!!! 😮
he is a fraud on every aspect of being an adult.. its shocking how much he was clearly pampered by his mother

Best line ever, Imagine DSP "someone that doesn't know what he's talking about", talking to someone that doesn't know what their talking about. LMAO
He is really obsessed with pretending to be an adult with grown up issues which is why he spends so much time talking about the most mundane BS like garbage disposals. But he is mentally like 15 years old and if you asked him to do anything adult like installing a disposal, or probably even a doorknob, he absolutely cannot do it because it's all pretend. "Hello fellow adults, how about those taxes and garbage disposals, right?"

That’s exactly it. I have never met an adult who treats going to the grocery store like it’s a story worth telling. It’s the most mundane thing you can possibly do, going to a food store to buy food. Literally every adult does it because you die if you don’t eat. Gets a full segment on DSP’s podcast telling us the cherry juice was in the wrong place. He literally told us a 10 minute story about the cherry juice he likes being in a different location one time. That’s how little he has going on in his life. The most complex lifeform on Earth and DSP uses that gift to complain about cherry juice being somewhere else.
As for installing anything, he said a couple weeks ago he would have to pay someone to install curtains in his house. Excuse me, what? Even if you don’t know how, you can look it up on TH-cam, where your pretend job is!
This is 100% going to be something Phil uses to gain pity tips. He always uses something to guilt trip people into tipping. He will say something like "I lost so much money because I couldn't stream. I have bills to pay and can't afford yadda yadda"
I've always believed Phil essentially doesn't know who he is. I've noticed a lot of the things he claims that he likes, and even his mannerisms are cobbled from other people that have been in his life. He steals pieces and things from other people. I was the same way when i was younger. He's too afraid to experience things for himself and find out who he is. I didn't become my own person until i knew who i was. He has to walk the same path.
He's had no curiosity for decades now.
Just because there's no data cap on the backup system, doesn't stop Phil from using it as a 3rd big bill for November.

I honestly can't make sense of his insane rant.
My guess why Phil doesn't want to talk to other human beings is because of his superiority complex and gets extremely insecure when he's being talked down to. He is incapable of coping over being dumb in front of other people.
Prophet I'm with you on the gaming, Phil ruins every game he touches. He's a gaming grifter and he's a failure at that too. But the gold dust is epic when he's not getting his way 😂😂😂

It's probably something very simple.
As I suspect he never turns off his laptop it might be that there was some change on the modem side, but his laptop didn't get the memo. Windows can be like that. Probably as simple as rebooting or just doing the `ipconfig /renew` on the commandline.
Or the modem could have a hiccup. Just reset the modem.
Also I'd like to point out something that nobody seems to have pointed out.
Phil could have easily just redone the video so we didn't have to hear the helicopter (was it a Sikorsky helicopter maybe?) since he only does a few hours of errands and normally gets back around 4-6 PM.

2 words.. Jasper Kitty. as Jasper loves to chew cables, and with all the hoarding, DSP wouldn't have a new cable to plug into the laptop.. This is man in Feb spilt SODA on that same laptop.
So.... he could absolutely do exactly what he needs to do by using his phone but it would take a little extra work... and we know he REFUSES to do even the smallest amount of extra work
It's so weird how he constantly proves he knows nothing about tech after claiming he used to "build gaming PCs for fun". I didn't know going on a website and picking what premade package you like counts as building a PC.

Yes, he still has those DVDs. He hoards most of the shit he's bought (if that infamous closet clean out stream is any indication).

@ProphetTech @OtterlyInsane On that Comcast business page it says at the top "When the unexpected happens, Connection Pro helps keep your Business Internet connected for up to 16 hours with powerful 4G LTE backup. Requires compatible leased Comcast Business router" and it would be an automatic failover. Is that really what he's using, or is there something different going on?
Edit: I feel sorry for the tech that has to go to his kahndo to fix the issues.
Edit #2: I wonder if Phil would be stupid enough to try and deny the tech access to the router.
Do you think Phil has two browsers on his desktop because he doesn't know tabs exist? That's a serious question because why else would he need to see two channels in separate browsers? Or was he just doing it to test if it was a browser-related hiccup?

Once he declared bankruptcy all communication gets sent to his lawyer on record with the automatic stop, the IRS doesn't care about bankruptcy because tax debt *always* survives and the government is going to bleed him dry until he is like 200k underwater (give or take, the government does the math if taking him to court actually gets money). *OR* some local bureaucrat starts cracking down on small businesses, he's screwed.
