That's a cool mod didn't think the original wheel could come off! I finally bought a wheel setup earlier this year after 15years racing/rallying on controller. The technology now with direct drive wheels(mines 10nm torque) and load cell pedals is amazing. Was well worth the £1300 for a full rally setup including the rig, wheelbase, pedals ,quick release adapter for deep dish wheel and handbrake/shifter. It is so immersive and makes you appreciate how skilled the top irl rally drivers are with their driving inputs.
@@Axeman744 I didn't realise either, but it seems the sim racing community is very resourceful 😆 I'd love to go to a DD setup in the future. Tried a couple and it's a big step up in experience. Like you say, really makes you appreciate what it's like in real life!
I think it probably does reduce it a small amount, as you do have more leverage with the larger wheel. I can't say I noticed really though, so I think it's a worthwhile trade-off

does replacing the wheel get rid of some of the force feedback?

It only has 2.2 mm.It's not meant for a big wheel
