Wow! I was a support group. Moderator for ISMHO back in 2003! I pioneered an Online Support Group back then. They had dismantled. I will have to check them out. 💟

As an aspiring LPC/LMHC, the telehealth platform is perfect for me. My bachelors in psychology program is fully online and the masters program in Clinical Mental Health I will be applying for is also fully online so I am being prepared fully the booming telehealth trend. I understand the benefits of a face to face session but we are adjusting to a new world post pandemic. People need help however they can get it. Very informative and helpful video. New subbie here 👍

Oddly enough I am a therapist in a very small town and e-therapy has been a way for me to get clients in other areas mostly from large cities. So it can go the opposite way too.

It is important that when people do online therapy they have a private place that they can meet. You would not believe how many people do therapy sessions in their car because they don't have a private place in their home.

      I'm that person.
I go sit in a parking lot for my sessions. My last session I was parked at a lake.

What I feel is nothing like face to face chat and physical presence, from my perspective yes .

There are people that prefer each, I think it is split in society at this point. Thanks for watching.

@@DocSnipes All depends from case ,everyone is different, it can be started from on line sessions and lead to face to face and vice a verse. its easier stay on line, but might be less effective. Surely I can't imagine crisis intervention on line for example. Thanks for this channel, sharing knowledge and experience. Love from Dublin.

I think you're absolutely correct that face-to-face is best most of the time. But there are reasons why people can't do face-to-face. They might live too far away they might be disabled and not able to come in and there might be a worldwide pandemic that shuts everything down. I think most people prefer to come in however.

@@KMF3 I understand it . I had assessment about during my course. Personally I had my therapy on phone and camera and it has been different connection. I'm waiting for meeting my therapist face to face and I'm sure ,that is gonna be more effective , but its taking ages. That's a main problem with this service.

That's weird that you said adolescents prefer online therapy because I would say the majority of The Adolescents that I deal with actually prefer the in-office face-to-face. So interesting. In fact I would say that more of the teenagers compared to the adults that I deal with prefer face-to-face.
