After getting one early from the expo, I have to say the price is completely justified due to the amount of plastic used. The inner frame is very dense and barely has any empty spaces. Along with its huge size, the kit itself is extremely heavy. I haven't finished it yet but I feel like it's already heavier than the sazabi itself. The details and gummicks are also next-level, even by RG standards.

The price of the deluxe version will be reasonable if they added the legs then sprinkle those effect parts or add a new one that is exclusive to it. But to be honest, when I first saw this, it is too much. Id rather get the regular version just to pair up with my RG Sazabi who I really love and cherish to this day, even though it is just on display and collecting dust while watching over me when Im on an online class xD

It's Bandai BS like always because transparent plastic is neither expensive nor rare! Just get something else, I ordered the Sazabi instead, it's on back order, looks cooler than this, has weapons, has beams and has LEGS! xD

You can't just NOT pay for the extra plastic included in the DX version. That's not how the world works. More plastic = higher prices
Great video, I like the look and ya I'll be grabbing a regular version to build and review but unless people just started collecting most know bandai are kings at recycling things. Bigger doesnt always mean better. Most MGs are outdated and looks toyish. RGs are better in detail size wise. What can we do bandai is abusing our weaknesses. 😆
Interesting take, I just always liked the 1/100 scale a bit more than 1/144 for some reason. But I like both for sure, and a bit of 1/60 or bigger. Liking both MG and RG is a huge weakness, though lol.
Yup, i really believe RG are the pinnacle of 1/144, so Bandai will go all out on the RG, which i believe they will produce tons of accessories, P-Bandai of course, to scope the certain market, cause there are some people out there in the population which only has an eye for the 144 because of their scale size, or just can't afford to keep a bigger scale kit. By producing this RG, i believe it would rose the market of those who wanted the upgraded version of Neo Zeong, and those people are the ones hating this kit 😂😂😂 more win for Bandai and we're still buying it from Bandai 😭😭😭 Banzai

thanks, I'd say think about it. If you don't already have those effect parts, it might be worth getting as they can be used on other kits as well. Personally, I'd like to see something similar to what they included in the Robot Damashii Zeong even if it means costing a bit more.
I get people are kind of thinking its ridiculous, but not really if you think about it. the kit will have 39 runners for the DX effect kit, and a video i found shows it is BIG on having an inner frame for articulation which is something I've expected now with RGs which have become 144 Ver Ka kits (See Nu and Sazabi). Plus, if you take away how much the extra stuff would cost ( Hangar base x 2, Jet Effect Part x 2, Gunfire Effect x 2, ) it comes to around 48 bucks at most hobby stores. Then add probably at least another 5 bucks to include the two runners of the last shooting and damage parts. So it about rounds up to do so. Like the effect part kits are hardly a rip off since it would cost just as much if you got them seperately. like look you don't have to like it, but personally i'm excited for the effect parts i pre ordered. This is gonna be great. This RG is gonna be way better in quality than the 2002 MG, no comparison here. I get the frustrated but hey, its supply and demand and people love having cool effect parts with iconic kits. I'll take it
Hey Michael, saw this and thought I could clarify a few things, Not really ridiculous but could be better, the RG Zeong itself is great ( last part of the video) Effect parts is at least 50% sloppy in my opinion, they should improve. If people buy it, it will stay like P-Bandai. If not they'll try something else, the beauty of capitalism. IMO We should always expect better as consumers though. I think the DX effect pack is pretty good, I'd probably get one too, but you should see the MG. MG 2.0 will be sick. Enjoy yours kit!
I dunno, man. Effect parts are quite expensive and I don't think the thruster effect for the arms (not fingers) and the larger bottom one is available anywhere (for now?). Also, if they make either expansion rg perfect zeong or an actual perfect zeong, then I rather have that instead

You know, with the price of US$41, we could've got RG Zeong's legs instead of those lame effect parts & base. Eh, I better buy the MG Perfect Zeong than the deluxe RG Zeong. More bang for my buck.
Actually a base makes more sense, because: 1. Legs give us a different, less popular model of Zeong, while the base is required for some more decent poses the normal Zeong design limits. 2. An Action Base is almost always useful, because you sometimes you don't get bases for other kits.
I love the dorky design but the price is complete bullshit! It may be 60$ in Japan but you know with Shipping it's going to be like 80$ for us! Also I bet you it's not as tall as the Sazabi that I managed to get for 45$ and another thing does it include ANY beam effects if you don't buy the special edition? or you get the supid model kit doing nothing in the corner because they couldn't throw a couple beam sabers on there? :(

I know 🤭🤭 If talking about originality, there's no such thing as original anymore, there won't be anything new in every kit we saw these days coming out from bandai (except the new model from the new series). In terms of creativity, a pro modeller should just get a regular version i believe, since they can create a better effects and parts to recreate the event. But i believe Bandai also needs some profit, and not everyone is a pro modeller including me. So it's a fair product
I've been enjoying building gunpla since 2004 i believe, yet i won't purchase an RX-78 or anything Retro's since i believe they will always be produced and there's more to come

I'm sure someone already said this, but the RX-78-2 comes with the deluxe kit. Which, when included with all the effects would even out

yeah, the rear arm effects and the bottom big one are not available, I think it's worth getting for some for some people for sure.
