    You don't HAVE to switch though, you can use more than one DAW. I use Ableton & FL all the time, sometimes start a project in one & finish in the other or do sound design in one & put a beat together in the other, it's been amazing to have the best of both Worlds to work with

    Nice video. I did the same "switch" recently in the other direction after 8 years.
    But a misunderstanding I commonly see is people assuming it needs to be a permanent switch, one or the other. I would say it's more like adding additional tools to your belt, that you can access when you need them.

    Great video bro! I copped Live 11 last month with their 50% off promotion. The way Live handles audio + automation was what sold me when watching the homies use it. The integration with the Novation Launchkey has been making the learning experience more fun!

    Ableton is soooo intuitive to me. I first started using it in 2012 but then switched to Reason until this year and switched back to Ableton. It has really improved. I love how it handles audio for sure. It’s streamlined. (Ableton GANG 💪)

    I'm probably never gonna leave FL, but this is an interesting video. I started using FL Summer of 2004, and over that time, ive used, Reason, Logic, Protools, Reaper, Maschine, and MPC Beats, but I've always come back to FL to be able to completely actualize my ideas and finish them. Ableton has come a long way though! Salute to them!

    I've been on the fence for a few years now... I layer and use a ton of effects for post processing sounds and always end up needing like 2 FL Projects to have enough mixer channels (ik patcher exists but it kills my workflow). Luckily, Ableton has unlimited channels for effects PLUS sick racks that you can download from people on the internet.
    The only thing that's kept me from buying it is the price, especially since I'll be a poor college student this upcoming year. However, I will be studying music production full time for the next few years sooooooo it could definitely be a good investment.

    • @ohgoshleotus6584
      @ohgoshleotus6584  ปีที่แล้ว

      It is a bit pricey, BUT they do have the payment thing you can do (which is what I did), and even then, using Ableton Lite enough will let you know if its worth the cop.

    The fact that the problem with the automation,the one that you delete it but it still stays so you need to dig in the menu to find it and delete it there is still existing to this day,is so embarrassing; also we don’t have audio warping on playlist like ableton. I think they don’t changed these problems not because they don’t want to,they probably would need to rewrite the DAW from the ground up.

    i never tried FL Studio so i can't tell anything about it. but all i can say that Ableton Live is a changer and the power tool for DJs and EDM Producers much like Pro Tools is for Pop 'n' Rock music producers and engineers. but don't forget that the brothers in law, Logic & Cubase both still badass DAWs especially Logic. at the end if you are serious you can translate your ideas in any DAW.

    Sometimes, I think about switching DAWs, but I don't think there's any one that's more customizable than Reaper. At this point, I've got soo many functions/processes linked to single mouse buttons (on a 12-button gaming mouse).
    And, LITERALLY, anytime I've thought there was something I was unable to do in Reaper - I was wrong. But, everybody should (actively) seek their joy.

    Anyone here who could give an honest opinion on the engine of Ableton against Fl ? Also there is this thing I've noticed with FL while mixing... everytime you open a new plugin or add a sound, or start messing with a plugin already opened in the session on a particular track in the mixer, it changes slightly the overall balance of the mix even in parts of it where you haven't touched anything. The balance of frequencies is constantly kinda slightly floating during a session no matter what you do and usually when you close it and reopen again is always more transparent and tighter. It's difficult to describe it but if you have perfectly balanced one part of the mix lets say intro and you are working on the chorus for instance which does not involve the same sounds and plugins, the balance of the intro that you are happy with changes while you work on the chorus.

    • @Motekk67
      @Motekk67 ปีที่แล้ว

      There is no engine. Ableton and FL use both 32bit floating point and are capable to sound exact the same...FL has a statement about this Myths in their glossary. Open FL-click help, then Help Index...Now it opens up the glossary in your browser...Scroll all the way down (it`s one of the last ) to "Audio Myths & DAW Wars"...There you can read and debunk so many Audio Myths you hear on the internet, it`s really internet and maybe you`ll get an answer to your question :)

    I remember switching to Ableton and thinking that this was the ugliest DAW I've ever seen but only to realize how "direct" it was. FL Studio can overwhelming very quickly with too many plugin windows and other windows that are open.
    The wrap algorithms in Ableton are by far the best I've used, especially since Ableton was first a DAW for loops.

    Glad to have you on board brother. I switched from reaper, cause I like to do everything in hard mode. I definitely considered fl for a long time, and I still feel like the piano roll in FL is better, but audio and automation editing is so much easier.

    • @user-mv8vc3zt1y
      @user-mv8vc3zt1y ปีที่แล้ว

      FL's piano is not better. Why people always compare Fl with old Ableton 10? Ableton 11 has a ton of new piano roll features like scales, glides etc

    • @vincentaugustus2748
      @vincentaugustus2748 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@user-mv8vc3zt1y i use the latest version of ableton, but I still find the piano roll clunky, and small, yes you can enlarge it, but the way fl also automatically shows all the other midi data(without having to manually select) helps when drawing in complementary midi parts. I prefer ableton, but I won’t deny the shortcomings. FL still had them beat with things being more intuitive within the confines of the piano roll. I also like the global swing of fl, makes things a little easier than having to manually enable them on each track
