    Great video. I like watching to get an overall feel if I’ll like what the game does.

      that's exactly what I do. this does a way better job at giving you the feel of the game than just reciting the rules

    friend picked this game up several months ago and we did a short test game that we didn't finish
    he decided it was too simplistic without the expansion, but he finally managed to track it down so we'll be trying again tomorrow

    I love this game! I haven't played it with the expansion yet.
    Part of me wishes the developers would also release/create a digital version of the game for tablets. The automation might make for an easier experience. Not sure how cost prohibitive this is though.

    Mulaney 😂 …oh and good video, I listened about 7 times while going back and forth to work. I think I’m ready to play my first game. (No I’m not a good listener).

    I have a question.
    If I have negative reputation with a faction and someone else buy from the market, making that patrol move against the buyer. But I am in the middle of them so the patrol passes by me.
    Do the patrol stop at me or will it keep moving?
    If it stops, do I have to fight it right away or wait for my turn?
    If I have to wait for my turn, do I fight it right away or can I play planning and action first?
    If so, can I move away from the patrol then since fighting is step 3?
    Sorry ir I sound stupid. Thanks for great video!

    • @darthsquirt3
      @darthsquirt3 5 ปีที่แล้ว +9

      I believe that the patrol would move past you in that instance, as they are pursuing the active player. That said, the player could chose to have them take a path obstructing you in future turns, potentially forcing you to engage them.

    What happens to bounty cards if the bounty targets are no longer in play? ( ie. been discarded from a crew) is the bounty card useless?

    • @danyp800
      @danyp800 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      If a player has your bounty then its still in play and can be captured off that player. Otherwise if its been completed, then both the card and token are removed from play.

    • @prughman
      @prughman 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      If someone takes a character token as their crew, but then later decides to replace that crew member, they are required to take the first crew member's token out of the discard pile and place on the nearest empty contact location & the character card must be placed back into the databank deck. This way you can still hunt that bounty!

    When you loose or gain reputation do you move to the next line on the board or the the very top or bottom i am confused

    • @RollforCrit
      @RollforCrit  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      When you gain reputation, you move the marker for that faction one space closer to being positive. So if it's negative, it will move to neutral, and if it's neutral, it will move to positive. It works the same way when losing reputation, but in reverse. Hope this helps!

    • @michaelcreek3813
      @michaelcreek3813 3 ปีที่แล้ว +11

      There are only 3 settings: positive, negative, and neutral.

    • @trevorreish1676
      @trevorreish1676 9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      This was confusing to me as well. So to clarify, there are only three positions on the reputation tracks: Positive, Neutral, and Negative. When you move a reputation marker it will be in one of the three spots: all the way at the top (Positive), in the middle (Neutral), and all the way to the bottom (Negative).
      Is thus correct?

    • @iNathanLite
      @iNathanLite 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I have it and tried playing it with my family, I don't think anyone but me liked the game and I tried my dam well hardest to teach it but nothing was sinking in. Either I'm a bad teacher or the game is too difficult but I really think it's the former.
      If you have the turn reference card in front of you, all you are doing really is keeping track of your actions. Might take a couple games to let it sink in but I think you can do it. Just make sure you are playing it with the right sort of people as well lol.

    If 10 Fame points wins the game, why are there 12 fame points on the board?

    • @KandaJared
      @KandaJared 2 ปีที่แล้ว +6

      There's an "expert mode" in the game where, among other changes, you can play to 12 instead of 10 points. This is for experienced players or those looking for a longer playthrough. The game is slightly harder when playing to 12 fame because the longer the game goes on, the less jobs will be available (as they are completed by players and removed from the game), the less crew to recruit (as they'll either become bounty victims and removed or hired by other players and become unavailable) and the greater the chance that the weaker patrols get defeated and the stronger patrols (including the invincible ones) are going to come on the board and cause headaches.

      @@noahgiss9800 It is one of those games that SOUND complicated but if you watch one gameplay video everything is crystal clear. What is more it is one of the very few board games where rules feel so organic. It is like...common sense on paper. After you read the rule you are like :well..duh of course.
      The only house rule change I added to the game was to allow pvp combat. It added a certain flare to the games.

      Brand new to gaming right here. This is the Fourth board game I ever played. Taught myself solo in a few hours. I've also played Hell-boy, and Ghost busters recently(Fallout is my fourth game played). This game lands in between the two as far as difficulty goes. Ghostbusters was an amazingly easy dice roller with little planning or strategy(it did exist, but was basic). Hellboy was a lil more complicated with more options and planning required per move/round. Star Wars Outer Rim lands right in the middle of these two examples for me. I did not read the rules, just watched a play through on youtube and I was good to go. Enough moving parts that gave me options and strategies. Not overly complicated or bogged down with stuff and things. Since playing solo I was required to use an AI deck and play the AI's turn out which made it slightly more complicated but still just following steps on card mostly.
