It would be really cool if they released an expansion with two or three new villains and three new jedis. I'm thinking of Cad Bane and Pre Visla as villains you can fight and Plo Koon, Kit Fisto and Ki-Adi Mundi as playable characters. It would also be really cool if they included Palpatine as a villain and his ability is that he turns all your squad Cards against you, just like Order 66! But before that maybe he could give you extra missions or helpful bonuses and order you around the board, simulating that he's playing both sides of the war and is distracting the Jedi.
I agree! But what i dont understand is that the art is reused art from Fantasy Flight Games SW Games. Every art shown in this video is seen in Star Wars Destiny years ago. Hello! Thank you for the tutorial; it was very helpful. I just have a couple of questions: 1. When entering the finale for Ventress, she no longer has her hit points on the card. Does that mean she can't be removed? Or are you still supposed to hit her for three to remove her before resolving the mission? 2. For Obi's free action: Do you look at the four cards you draw and pick one to keep before putting three back on the bottom of the deck? Or do you pull four, pick one at random to keep, then put the remaining three at the bottom of the deck before looking at them? This was hotly debating during our playthrough since it is a little vague. 3. If you end your turn on a planet with a droid(s), do you take damage regardless of whether or not you attacked? For example, if you move to a planet, attack, resolve a mission, then move again to a different planet that has a droid on it and end your turn, do you take one damage for that droid?
Hi Jennifer, hope this helps: 1) You just have to complete the final mission - you don't have to defeat Ventress to win. 2) You examine all 4 you draw, pick the one you want to keep, and then the other 3 go to the bottom in a random order. 3) You don't take damage for being on a space with an enemy. Damage is only applied in the ways described in the video. You can thematically think of it as being on the planet with the droid, but not actively in it's area. Have fun playing!
Rodney, you're amazing, or at least a mind reader. I just started hearing about this game and then BAM your video pops up!! Great review(as always) and now I can wait to get my hands on it.
I have a rules question I hope Rodney or someone from the community can answer: When a villian is about to make a return on the board but the invasion deck has just been shuffled, meaning there isn't any top card on the discard, where do we spawn the villian? Do I flip a card to spawn them? Wait till the invasion phase then spawn? Skip spawning for that turn?
Hi Edgar, don't forget, the round ends by performing Step Four (Invading planets), so you'd never start a round, where during the Activate Villain Step the invasion deck would have no card showing (because at the end of the previous turn, even if the deck had been shuffled, you'd still resolve Step 4 afterwards, which would put new cards out for the next rounds Villain step). This is a bit hard to explain in text, but does that make sense?
@@WatchItPlayed Yes I think I got it. That means that after the siege card (reshuffle the deck), I must have forgot to draw cards that round on the invasion step for it to be no discard when the "ventress off board" came up next round. Thank you for the help.
Great video! I have a question though: as I understand it you can choose to invade a planet, as one of your 4 actions. But why would you choose to do this? Is it nessecary to complete a mission on this planet? I fail to see the point on this action
Invading planets isn't one of the actions, it's one of the steps of a turn, you don't WANT to do it, but you have to do it. It's the way in which the game will continue to challenge you, if you don't stay on top of things.

You're right, you don't want to do it, but it's a step the rules require you to do. It represents the actions of the enemy forces, so you'll have to play well, to try to minimize the effects of that step of you turn when it happens.
I recently bought the game and I'm really enjoying it 😁 But I don't understand what the point of the Ventress cars is, which exhausts Jedis on their or neighboring planets. Because as soon as it's a Jedi's turn, he prepares his cards again anyway. and can mace windu also pull droids to his planet if there are already three there?
I do my best to answer all rules questions on the games I cover, but I avoid individual card effects, as that's a level of detail beyond what I can manage across all the videos I do. I'd suggest checking the rules forum for the game on BoardGameGeek or the publishers website. I hope you can find your answer there - have fun playing!

For example, the Hunt For Ziro mission uses Transports, not Assault or Stealth cards, so no "damage" is done. Can her free action count toward "successes," or only damage?"
Great video! I had a quick question regarding taking damage. The rule book mentions under the attack action that the Jedi takes damage equal to the enemies still on the planet after the attack. Do you still take damage if you're on a planet with droids but did not engage them in an attack? Thanks so much!
Thank you so much for this walkthrough!! My brother introduced this game to me but it always seemed so difficult, now I understand what we did wrong and why it felt so unfair haha
Attempt Mission Question: (Apologies if you've already answered this question.) If I were to attempt a mission and if it were obvious by the die roll that I would fail the mission before I exhausted my squad cards, could I abort the mission without exhausting the cards?
I have a question About the mission “the last one” and the Villain is dooku.do you then take all the charachter cards? And do all of there villain card fase?I know this is a advanced question
I do my best to answer all rules questions on the games I cover, but I avoid individual card effects, as that's a level of detail beyond what I can manage across all the videos I do. Hey there! My only rules question so far is , if the last card of the villain deck I draw is the one that says "draw another card" , do I shuffle the card I just drew as well as the already discarded ones to form the new deck, creating the chance to draw that same card again and potentially draw 3 cards in a turn, or do I only shuffle the ones already in the discard but not the one that told me to draw a card?
Hi Andrew, I've sent a message to the publisher to double check, but I suspect it's not shuffled in, because I'm not sure that it would have gone to the discard pile yet. I'll let you know if I get an answer back and it's different.
So something that condused me and my friends when we played was that Ventress moves to mission markers with most of her cards. When she gets to a mission, does she stay there? Or does she move again to the other mission marker on her next card
Question - If Ventress is already on the Mission Planet and have already increased the threat, do you then still turn over the Villian card? If so, you then turn over the Villian card and it says to move Villian one planet closer to the mission planet, what do we do then? Is that just void?
With regards to the cards that say “move her 1 planet closer to a mission planet”? If she’s already one planet away, can she be moved to the actual mission planet?
I’d love to, but the video production schedule here is aggressive enough to be keeping me away this year. Hopefully next year. I will be at PAXU though!
Hey there, I'm always happy to try to help with rules questions, but if the answer is provided in the video, than I have to direct you there. You'll find an index in the description to help you find the section you might be looking for.
Quick question - if Ventress is next to a planet with a mission on it, do you move her to that planet when you draw said Villain card, or just the planet next to the mission one?
You say "draw said villain card", but it would help if you named the card, so I know which one you mean since there are several. Do you mean the one I showed at 17:02? If so, and assuming Ventress is on the board, yep, you move here onto the mission planet.
If an occupation would occur and there are no blockades in the supply, does the threat advance two spaces? One for the occupation and one for no available blockade?
Question- in the video and the rule book you both state that during the "attempt mission" phase there cannot be blockades or villains.... BUT droids are not villains, they are "enemies". So can you attempt a mission with only droids on the planet? And if you can, do you add their damage to the damage received from the dice & mission?
Hey Ry, yeah, the phrases is very specific. Droids are enemies, but they are not blockades or villains, so they do not prevent you from attempting a mission. They also don't add to damage during a mission attempt. Hope that helps clear things up. Have fun playing!
Hey I have a question about the game. When you play a game with two players, does both players play first and then the villain goes? Or does one player starts and then the villain and then the other player after?
Hi David, on you turn you fulfill all the steps of a turn (which includes the Villain step). The villain doesn't really have a separate turn, it's a part of each player's turn.
I'm not sure I'm following - there will always be cards in the discard. Can you describe a situation where there wouldn't be? I can probably help you if I understand your understanding a little better.
I'm currently having the same issue with the game. Her "Planet Under Siege" card forces you to shuffle the entire Invasion Discard pile. So when it ask you to bring her back, there is no planet for her to return to. Where do I go with this from the game or is there a faulty design 🤔
So I need to make sure I heard correctly. When resolving missions, do you have to take a damage no matter what? Also what happens when you run out of cards to discard?
I have a question about this game, when you reach the finale stage. Do you still continue flipping over cards from the villain deck? Such as Asajj Ventress. She just tries to move to the mission marker that she is already on. I'm looking for clarification from someone?

@@WatchItPlayed Hi! Hope you could help me out with clarifying Anakin's special ability. The card text states I can use ANY of my cards as it they are Red assault clones during that attack (I interpret it as being able to use purple, yellow, blue and even ally cars as red assault cards). However, the Fine Points section of the rulebook only gives an example using Stealth cards as Assault cards. This has also caused some discussion in some forums I've visited. Is there any official word on this? Thematically, the tv-series Anakin has been known to employ crazy tactics to win a battle, so this reflects well into using any squad card as if they are assault cards. However, game-wise it seems too overpowered I think? Tho I find it's not also wise to exhaust just any type of card to activate his special ability without good reason as he wont be able to support fellow Jedi with armor and transport abilities if needed. So that's a balancing mechanic as well?

@@ZoroDeGoat I shot this long enough ago, I don’t recall from memory (and I’m traveling, so I can’t easily look up in the rules to remind myself), but if the video says to put the villain on the card, then that’s where you put it. If an effect would cause the villain to come back into play, then it comes back into play. Sorry can’t go into more details right now.
If you defeat the villain and then they get placed on the board again do you have to make sure to defeat the villain “again” in order to complete the finale?
I'm confused by the mission cards. For the cards you shown that had a 6(attack) would you take (up to) 6 damage? And thus kill almost your entire squad? And what does the 6 with two attack symbols mean?
Hi Rodney, just can you please confirm that playing/discarding an Ally card to use its ability doesn’t count as one of my 4 actions? I can’t find any reference to it in the rules?
The rules and video both say that alley cards dont count as an action and can be used at any time during any players turn (unless specifically stated on the card) as long as the terms on the card are met. Thank of allies like tagging onto an existing action you are performing
@@Ryguy0707 I know the video says it doesn’t count as an action, but I can’t find it in the rules. It says it can be played at anytime including another players turn, but I wanted to confirm that if I wanted to play it on my turn if it’s one of my actions or not. Is it because it’s not one of the “fly/reinforce/attack/attempt mission” options that it counts as a free action?
@@Ryguy0707 I’m happy to be wrong, I just wanted to make sure I’m playing it right. If Rodney hadn’t mentioned that it’s a free action, I’d likely be counting it as one of my 4. Either way, I got lucky with my game tonight, one more invasion phase it it would have likely bumped the threat up by 2 to end the the game
Would you say that the game length of 60 minutes is accurate- even with 5 players or is that a bit of a stretch? For our family, under an hour is that sweet spot, but I would be afraid this one might push into the 90 minute territory pretty easily.
I avoid trying to make those assessments for other people, because it really comes down to the players and how quickly they play. Length of play for one group of players could be radically different at the same player count with a different group. Sorry I couldn't help with that.
@@benjaminspears8488 Or fast players - some people play abnormally fast, which also throws of estimates. And then you put a mix of players together and it's impossible to say :)
Question: If I attack the villain and am successful in defeating them, does the villain activation still happen? So I immediately go to the finale? Does the villain come back for the finale? The rules don't mention any of that. Please and thank you!
Yep, the Villain activation still happens! Thre are cards in its deck that can bring it back. Defeating the villain just helps to get it off the board for a bit.
Since damage beyond your number of cards is ignored, can you attack with *no* squad cards, hope for a good roll, and not suffer any penalty for damage?

Great video! I had a quick question regarding taking damage. The rule book mentions under the attack action that the Jedi takes damage equal to the enemies still on the planet after the attack. Do you still take damage if you're on a planet with droids but did not engage them in an attack? Thanks so much!
Nope, you can be on a space with enemies and you don't automatically take damage. Only during an attack.
Better explanation than the manual, thanks a lot!
Very glad to know if was helpful - have fun playing!
Thank you so much for this walkthrough!! My brother introduced this game to me but it always seemed so difficult, now I understand what we did wrong and why it felt so unfair haha
So glad this was helpful - have fun playing next time!
This is so helpful, I couldn’t seem to figure out the instructions, thank you so much for your help!
You're very welcome Brandon, have a great time playing (and saving the galaxy!)
Attempt Mission Question:
(Apologies if you've already answered this question.)
If I were to attempt a mission and if it were obvious by the die roll that I would fail the mission before I exhausted my squad cards, could I abort the mission without exhausting the cards?
Yes!
I'd suggest checking the rules forum for the game on BoardGameGeek or the publishers website. I hope you can find your answer there - have fun playing!
Thanks for the rules, very helpful 👍
My pleasure - glad you enjoyed!
She'll stay there.
Question - If Ventress is already on the Mission Planet and have already increased the threat, do you then still turn over the Villian card? If so, you then turn over the Villian card and it says to move Villian one planet closer to the mission planet, what do we do then? Is that just void?
Can you give me a time stamp tot he section of the video you are asking about - I'm having a little trouble getting the full context.
With regards to the cards that say “move her 1 planet closer to a mission planet”? If she’s already one planet away, can she be moved to the actual mission planet?
Yep!
@@WatchItPlayed sorry…one more question…how many Jedi can be on a single planet?
@@dancorrea93 There's no limit.
I've been waiting for this!
Available now (I think?)
Yeah I've seen it in target a few times. I think it may end up being a Xmas present so I haven't gotten it yet
I'll need to watch this again, but this has been really helpful 😊
Have a great time playing!
Great Video! Will you be at BGG Con?
I’d love to, but the video production schedule here is aggressive enough to be keeping me away this year. Hopefully next year. I will be at PAXU though!
@@WatchItPlayed awesome! I’ll bring my close up magic to Pax Unplugged in case we run into each other!
I can use my Star Wars miniatures to bling this one out a treat.
Cool idea!
Thanks Rod! Can you do Ark Nova soon?
Thanks for the interest! I talk a bit about that here: th-cam.com/video/EdtDuvIUa6A/w-d-xo.html&t=342
When do you draw invasion cards
Hey there, I'm always happy to try to help with rules questions, but if the answer is provided in the video, than I have to direct you there. You'll find an index in the description to help you find the section you might be looking for.
Quick question - if Ventress is next to a planet with a mission on it, do you move her to that planet when you draw said Villain card, or just the planet next to the mission one?
You say "draw said villain card", but it would help if you named the card, so I know which one you mean since there are several. Do you mean the one I showed at 17:02? If so, and assuming Ventress is on the board, yep, you move here onto the mission planet.
@@WatchItPlayed yes, I mean the one shown or any card that says to move her one planet closer to a mission planet. Thank you!
Where do I leave the villain figurine in star wars pandemic if I win? 10:29
Anywhere you like off to the side of the board.
Oooh this one looks neat!
Thanks for checking it out!
If an occupation would occur and there are no blockades in the supply, does the threat advance two spaces? One for the occupation and one for no available blockade?
Correct, it advanced 2 spaces.
Thank you for great complete tutorial!
You're very welcome James!
Can't wait - its in the mail!
Here's hoping it arrives quickly!
Watching your videos relaxes me 🎉
That's really nice to hear Juanro :)
QUESTION!: If Ventress is Off-Board: and there's no cards on the Invasion Discard pile, what do I do?
I'm not sure I'm following - there will always be cards in the discard. Can you describe a situation where there wouldn't be? I can probably help you if I understand your understanding a little better.
I'm currently having the same issue with the game. Her "Planet Under Siege" card forces you to shuffle the entire Invasion Discard pile. So when it ask you to bring her back, there is no planet for her to return to. Where do I go with this from the game or is there a faulty design 🤔
This game needs expansions!! Jabba the Hut, Jango Fett, Dark Side Anakin, Palpatin etc.
Certainly lots of opportunities for them!
So I need to make sure I heard correctly. When resolving missions, do you have to take a damage no matter what? Also what happens when you run out of cards to discard?
Hey there, I'm always happy to try to help with rules questions, but if the answer is provided in the video, than I have to direct you there.
This games looks very good! I really like the Pandemic system and I like Star Wars so this sounds like it'll be a hit with me
Sounds like this would be up your alley!
3:23 - that was funny 🤣
I'm not so good at Pandemic, but I'm a big fan of Star Wars and this game sounds awesome! So I want it! 😀 Great video by the way! 👍 Thanks!
Sounds like this might be worth a spin for you!
Perfect tutorial. Amazing! Thank you!
You're very welcome - thanks for the kind words!
Just need an empire ve rebel alliance one now varient
Thanks Rodney!

I have a question about this game, when you reach the finale stage. Do you still continue flipping over cards from the villain deck? Such as Asajj Ventress. She just tries to move to the mission marker that she is already on. I'm looking for clarification from someone?
I’m not quite sure what you’re asking, but yes, the game otherwise continues to be played the same way.
When does the invasion tracker increase?
You’ll find this covered in the video.
The villain turn is in between player's turn or after all the player have donde their turn?

When using Ally Cards to support another player during their turn, does the supporting player need to be in the same planet as the other player?
Nope!

Do you go into Villain phase and invasion phase after every players turn or after both or all players have done their turns?
Hey Jeremy you'll find that covered here: th-cam.com/video/JSY1tsx-aOs/w-d-xo.html
If the villain dies do I put him back on does cards where it said offboard: ?
I’m not sure I completely understand your question. The simple answer is: when a villain is defeated, you return it to its card.
Or i Can say it another way, What if the villain goes Down to 0 HP can He come back. And how can the villain get offboard?
@@ZoroDeGoat I shot this long enough ago, I don’t recall from memory (and I’m traveling, so I can’t easily look up in the rules to remind myself), but if the video says to put the villain on the card, then that’s where you put it. If an effect would cause the villain to come back into play, then it comes back into play. Sorry can’t go into more details right now.
Ty
If you defeat the villain and then they get placed on the board again do you have to make sure to defeat the villain “again” in order to complete the finale?
Yep - if it helps, think of those other encounters as causing the villain setbacks, as opposed to the big finale confrontation.
Superb, as usual.
Thank you kindly!
Great video
Glad you liked it!
I'm confused by the mission cards. For the cards you shown that had a 6(attack) would you take (up to) 6 damage? And thus kill almost your entire squad?
And what does the 6 with two attack symbols mean?
The 6 refers to how many cards you need to complete the mission. The Damage is related to how many Damage symbols you see on the card (so, 1).
My package was missing both Mission Planet Cards, could you drop an imgur link so i could print that out (Might go against copyright if so its fine)
Sorry, no, can't help with that.
Hey Sam, the video has it right. Hope that helps!
@@WatchItPlayed That makes sense. You can’t really account for slow players!
@@benjaminspears8488 Or fast players - some people play abnormally fast, which also throws of estimates. And then you put a mix of players together and it's impossible to say :)
Thank you for another great how to play video. I appreciate 👍 😊
You're very welcome Micken!
I quite enjoy it
Great!
I've a question, that's not exactly about rules, why do you start with more squad cards if you play with more players? I can't really get that...
Yeah, that's more of a question for the designers - I'm not really sure.
Since damage beyond your number of cards is ignored, can you attack with *no* squad cards, hope for a good roll, and not suffer any penalty for damage?
Sure can!
Excellent!
Thanks Eddy!
