Very helpful play thru. I'm thinking about picking it up. Good idea using icon characters Boba Fett and Han for a 'Solo' demo ; ) 19:45 Boba Shoots First! I didn't see all of the sides but those look to be the same attack dice FFG uses in X-wing miniatures game just gold instead of red. MTFBWY

@@OneStopCoopShop We're lucky they give us enough dice unlike X-wing starters lol X-w players actually bought two starters and the bous was the minis were cheaper. I bought a dice set broken out of a starter on eBay a bit cheaper than FFG's six pack. I bet during development they just grabbed X-wing dice and said well that worked let's shoe horn it in. The focus side means well basically nothing special.

@@OneStopCoopShop @36:44 'Snake Eyes' (what people call two 1' on d6's) And I recently had a game where Han could move 9 spaces with the MF, his ability and a mod card (can't recall which without it in front of me). Lately I've been playing solo mode starting with thematic ships so this would be Han Falcon vs Boba Firespray. And level 2 patrols. I mixed the board up once. It was an odd game. So far I use the standard setup. There's a thread on BGG about custom Solo AI decks that add some steps to make the characters more unique. The $8k for 1Fame didn't come up that much in your game. It seems to come up often in other player's and my games. So we houserule either it can't be the final fame or if the AI is ahead.

Great playthrough as always. How long did it take to film? The great editing makes it seem super fast. I haven't played solo, but 2p it took quite a bit longer.
Boba Fett did a heckuva lot of ship combat, but it was nicely thematic that he hit 10 fame from his bounties.
Yeah, you got me. This was almost 2 hours of filming :). I just edit like a ninja.

Wow, I’ve been playing most games in a bit over an hour. But usually I’m way faster than the average player, so I might have overestimated how long the game takes for others!

How the heck am I supposed to know what kind of defense the bounties have?
I've looked on forums and in the rules manual but it just keeps showing the attack number in red and no defense number in yellow.
Yeah, it could have been better organized, but the main part you need to look at is the final paragraph of “resolving combat” in the learn to play rules on page 11.
Basically, you need to roll at least as much damage as they rolled to “win” the combat and take the bounty.
Im a year late but love the vid and would like to mention i think you forgot to account han's grenade launcher during some of his ground combat.
Han probably forgot to bring it. He always preferred a good blaster to hokey religions and explosives ;)

Played this solo a few times now and i was under the impression when you cancel a hit with your ion canon, even though a crit scores 2, you only cancel 1 of those 2 hits. Is that not the case as i noticed you cancelled a crit a couple of times which is 2 instead of one. Great game man but needs more content as the decks get cycled through too fast. Enjoyed the playthrough
It says "may cancel 1 (crit symbol)". Pretty sure "cancel" means it doesn't happen at all. Otherwise, it wouldn't really be much of an upgrade for characters with the Tactics skill, right? :)
quick question the solo deck does come with base game right?
Correct, it has solo in the base box
Are'nt all patrols moved when the card is turned face up?
Ken frmcape just the one indicated on the card. That’s what those icons are for.

Cool board game, yet the AI in solo variant might need more cards.
There’s a popular variant on BGG that gives each ship/pilot their own unique deck of cards. Certainly a big improvement!

Nope! The tick marks are only there for aesthetic purposes. You can think of reputation as having 3 “spaces”: positive, neutral, and negative.
Boba let you pick just the contact or the card too?

Many would say yes, but for me without the fan made variant on BGG solo got too samey. But hey, new FFG expansion is coming!
45 minute video?? I can’t play in under 2hrs lol. The game is fun, but definitely seems like it would be a lot more fun with one or two other players.
In its review he says it's a 1h30 for solo when you know it well. But this video is edited, all the shuffles, thinking and everything is cut, so it's shorter.
@@Thagor95 has it right. This was 1:45-2:00 of actual filming. I just cut all the fiddly bits and shuffling and considering and such.
