    Corrections:
    10:14 - As a Rebel, your hand size does not actually include objective cards. (Thanks to JayHaygh for spotting that one)
    12:23 - You can only send a leader into a combat system if there are no military leaders there already. (Thanks to Ondřej Březina for pointing that out)

    10:14 The 10 card hand limit only affects Mission cards. Since Imperial Project cards are considered mission cards, they count towards the limit. However, the Rebel Objective cards do not, as they are not mission cards.

    I don't know if still matters, but in reference to 12:46 and General "I Can't Pronounce This Name," it is pronounced kind of like RYE-Ken. You can hear Princess Leia say his name in Empire Strikes Back when she's verbally sparring with Han just after Luke gets out of the bacta tank and before Leia kisses Luke.

    Great content. Thank you so much. I know Editing and Shooting more content would be painful but having a separate video with most of these assets and the additions specific to Rise of the Empire seemless fit it would be of immense value to many people. Normally I wouldn't worry about it but the expansion is quite key to balancing out the issues in the cores game. Moreso than other games with expansion I would admit. I know I get confused trying to blend them together with the small rules sheet they give you. Either way thank you so very very much. Your team's is SOOO good at explaining these great games.

    Great video, just a couple of things:
    12:23 - You can only add a defensive leader, if other leaders in the system belonging to you don't have tactic values (Page 14)
    5:38 - Not a mistake per se, but it could be slightly misleading. You showed Sullust as a subjugated system. You can only play Research and Development in systems with Imperial loyalty so it actually couldn't be used in this scenario.

    • @RTFM
      @RTFM  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks for spotting that! And yeah, I see what you're saying about the subjugation token. I needed to put it in to show what sabotage looks like, but since I mentioned the difference between the loyalty and subjugation, I'm hoping it won't cause any significant confusion.

    Great video! Been learning this game inside and out to play with the wife! We had a question about the ion cannon. 16:44 You say “to count from how many they would roll before hitting the five dice maximum.” Can you help me understand your example? 10-8=5? Absolutely phenomenal teach!

    • @RTFM
      @RTFM  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Thanks! And yeah, that rule is a little wonky. Because there's a five dice maximum per color, if you come in with a oversized fleet, the ion cannon might not have any effect. Like if you come in with ten dice, you're only rolling five anyway. The ion cannon reduces the ten to eight, but you're still only rolling five. If you come in with a five dice fleet, the ion cannon would bring it down to three though. Does that make sense?

    Question for anyone who can help (for a person who just got the game and hasn't played yet): I noticed that if you complete an objective card, you gain reputation, moving from 14 to 15 on the time track, but as a rebel, you want the time marker to reach the reputation marker to win. So, why would you ever try to achieve an objective that increases your reputation, if it only moves you further from the time marker?

    • @RTFM
      @RTFM  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Completing objectives as the Rebellion actually moves your reputation marker down on the time track, making it closer to the time marker. Sorry if this wasn't made clear in the video.

    Can the player that is opposing my mission oppose with more than one leader? 6:00
    In the battles. Does the space battle keep going after the defender rolls his dice? What I mean is do we have to finish combat in space until there is a winner that rules the space? Can the attack stop and we move to the ground battle?

    • @RTFM
      @RTFM  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      The opposing player can only send one leader, but they can send them whether or not they already have a leader in the space. If you then have multiple leaders with matching symbols in the space, all of them contribute to the opposition.
      During combat you always do one round of space fighting, then one round of ground (if you have ground units), then you can retreat, but if not, you go back to space.

    8:00 if the empire activates it system into the rebel base the rebel base is always revealed immediately, or with the empire fight the visible forces first? Unless they have to fight the combine forces of visible units and base units?
    I’m confused because if the visible forces destroyed the space units first there would be no ground to discover the rebel base

    • @RTFM
      @RTFM  11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Combat happens in both ground and space at the same time, so if the rebel base is revealed, any space units there are added to the space combat. The Empire needs to land ground units to reveal the rebel base though. If they only brought space units, the rebel player doesn't reveal.

    11:23 how does blockade work? Referred in rulebook? Since I could win a space battle which could also destroy ground if before the ground battle, can I only blockade if I got space units with no ground or with ground must always resolve a combat?

    • @RTFM
      @RTFM  ปีที่แล้ว

      If you bring in space units and no ground units to a planet with ground but no space, you won't fight and will immediately blockade it. If you bring ground units with you, they'll have to fight other ground units. I don't think the rulebook uses the term blockade, but the relevant rules can be found in the build units and combat sections of the rules reference.

    So quick question, if the whole point of playing the imperials is to find the rebels then why wouldn't I just use my heroes to activate systems and hop around instead of using them to do missions? I'm sure the mission cards are useful but if I'm always building an army based on the planets I control then what's the point of missions?

    • @RTFM
      @RTFM  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Well just because you find the rebels doesn't mean you automatically win. You may be building a lot of forces, but the Rebels will try to disrupt that. And if you don't have a strong enough invasion force nearby when you find them, they can just relocate next round and stay in the game.

    Your Video is very well done. There is one question I got left though.
    There are times when you sign absolutely every leader to either a mission or combat. When the enemy attacks you, you normal are allowed to bring in a leader from the HQ. In this case there is no leader left (because they all have been assigned). What happens then?

    • @RTFM
      @RTFM  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      You can still have combat without a leader, but you won't draw any tactic cards and you can't retreat from the battle.

    • @RTFM
      @RTFM  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Gaining loyalty is referring to those loyalty markers with the rebel or imperial symbols on them. If the system doesn't have any loyalty, you place one of your own. If it has the opponent's loyalty, you remove the marker. That is, unless it's the empire and they have units on the planet, then you flip it to the subjugated side.

      In terms of strength and goals, absolutely. But as far as each side's mechanics go, there's more in common that it seems at first. At least, in comparison to games like Root or Vast.

    what's the point of not throwing dice during combat simultaneously? i just can't see the reason why "who goes first" is important =/

    • @RTFM
      @RTFM  7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Part of it is that you only have 5 of each type of dice, so you can't go simultaneously. The real reason though is that it's slightly advantageous to go second. You'll see what they've rolled and so will have just a little bit more information when deciding whether to use specials on cards in hand, or to draw new ones.

    But ...WHY ARE WE PUTTING ACTION CARD'S WE DON'T CHOSE AT BOTTOM OF THE DRAWING ACTION PILE ? If we are not. going to use them ever again ? Why we are holding action cards deck in front of as after 5. round if we are not going to use them again later in the game ?
