Chris could make the bears, the sasquatches and anything else out there to come and sit down and listen attentively to his stories, with his peaceful voice, beautiful surroundings and captivating telling of these accounts! 😅
Hello there Chris, haha neat way of getting that coffee commercial in there. I think it won't be too long before they will be publicly acknowledged all over the world. Why did those Ole Bigfoot have to spoil those two guys camp out. You'd think they would have better manners😅 I don't hike much anymore but I sure used t o. Chris I sure enjoy your narration about this subject. Neat old campus tent you got there and sure looked comfortable. Thanks as always and see you on the next one and God bless you.❤
You’re right. Ha ha. The beastie whisperer. 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
He’s going to have to start bringing 2 beers!
love ur story ❤ telling Chris
So refreshing to leave my life for a few minutes to spend with you and your stories. Thank you.
I'm so glad! Thank you C🌲🍺🦉👀
Thanks Chris. You notice that every time someone has an unusual story no one believes it? No matter how credible the storyteller. The stories I tell about living in a haunted house and encounters with UFOs get the same response. It makes it difficult to tell people about the weird stuff we encounter, but it eats at you because you need to talk about it.
Just my two cents. 👍
No one understands until they have there own experience. Very few open-minded people.
I have a story, too. It’s amazing how many people do, but we will never hear it because of fear of being rejected. When I tell you I was scared out of my mind…that is a fear that is very hard to grasp unless you’ve been there. I didn’t have that much fear when some men tried to break into my house while I was home, and trust me, I was scared! But, NOTHING can compare to the fear of seeing something that your mind can’t comprehend. You literally feel like you are breaking from reality. That. That right there is being scared out of your mind.
People are afraid to look gullible, and sometimes just plain afraid.

I know what you mean.
I know EXACTLY what you mean.
@@sharonhutchins5784you were experiencing shock
Chris I wish you would offer a small event where we could camp out with you and you could tell us stories in person! That would be so awesome!
Amen
I like your idea, except hundreds of like-minded people might turn up. 🙂
Use your imagination. It's happening now!
Hi Chris, I worked on the Black Warrior river, we would catch the boat in Mobile Alabama and head north. Very narrow and winding, at night we would spot light gators and other assorted critters. I totally believe him from a guy that's been in that wild swamp area. Also beautiful country and down home folk's. Thanks Brian
Thank you Chris! It was great to see you out camping. A lot of work though, to make that happen. I appreciate you so much! That stove is fantastic!!!
Thank you Chris!
Love your videos!
I love the natural sounds -
Some people add music but it drowns out the content and totally ruins the experience.
Happy Holidays 🌲🎶
😊😊😊
Perfect camping trip and story. Loved the old Folger's commercial at the end. Thanks Chris!
Oh boy! Can't wait to hear part 2 to that guy's story. It's a shame no one believed him. I love your tent and that camp stove! Everything so warm and cozy. I've used tortillas instead of bread, too. I've used them on veggie burgers and tuna melts--folding them over to melt the cheese and then flipping them in the pan to toast the other side. I also think you should get some sasquatch stuffed toys and put mini "Base Camp Chris" sweatshirts on them and sell them. I bet a lot of people would buy them Just to sit it on their desks by their computers while watching your videos. Or on a shelf.
Imagine going through something that only a small percent of the world will ever go through and you’re not believed when you tell the story, I don’t know if I’d be frustrated or angry that I’d go through that and be laughed at.
That must have been difficult for them both, great video
It's frustrating for me.
Gm Chris that tent, stove and sleeping bag looked comfy. Fun to hear the vintage Folgers commercial. I tried their 1850 medium roast and was surprised at how good it was. Thanks again for your story telling, makes my Sundays.❤🎉
This one has everything, Chris! Old-school tent and stove, a good credible story, cooking, morning snow and a vintage Folgers ad. You out-did yourself!
Thank you Sanford! C☕
Dude, I love Base Camp Chris! He's got the most welcoming and comforting voice for these stories, it always puts me at ease and makes you feel cozy. Kinda reminds me of the way my grandfather(not that he's old, I'm probably only 7-10 years younger😂)used to tell stories around the fireplace. Love it, keep em coming Chris!
I totally agree...The best storyteller on You Tube!
I totally agree too, Chris is the best storyteller!
He's not a storyteller but The Craftsman Steady Crafting also has a GREAT voice you can just listen to for hours. These two TH-cam channels are the most relaxing things on the platform in my opinion, and I'd highly recommend both. Chris from when you're in the mood for a story, and Craftsman for when you need inspiration for a DIYS project (mostly toys).
This is the kind of video You Settle down into with a Cup of Coffee or Tea. Really Great Video, and I like it.
Chris, you are such a great storyteller. You try to relate the story as it was told to you. I love your descriptive and detailed stories. They make me feel like I am there. Thanks!
😂 Love the audio of the vintage Folgers commercial. Keep hiking!
I grew up north of the swamp in MS and heard stories about it.
I LOVE THAT TENT SET UP!! ⛺
Thanks for this excellent and terrifying story, Chris! Seeing the tent setup and watching you cook dinner really enhanced the entire experience. So did the 1970s Folger’s commercial featuring Mrs. Olson (Virginia Christine)! You have a wonderful talent and I’m very grateful for your stories!
What I've personally loved about Chris was his whole "we're camping together through the magic of TH-cam vibe." His 'goofball' humor makes it more enjoyable. 'Folger's in your cup' and all that.
I agree, just love Chris' style! The camping & cooking just add to the ambiance. That's a neat stove too! It looks well thought out & built. Stainless steel? That's a nice homey tent as well. Any Folgers drinker knows it has its own distinctive taste.
My dad used to take a boat out to farm an island on the Mississippi River near the boot heel of Missouri. He hired my uncle and his family to go live on the island but the first night, they got spooked by “bears” and left the next morning. I’m beginning to think it might have been a big foot.
Love it when you take us along on your camping adventures and share the scenery along with your stories. I already had my coffee this morning but this makes me want some more! Thank you Chris!
Me too. I drank mine then remembered that it was Base Camp Chris morning! Now I need another cup. I went back and watched last week’s story again so as to be in the moment for this second part.
Thanks again Chris for THE best story telling on TH-cam.
Great story. I tend to believe that something strange happened around that Honey Island camp; I don't think they were making it up. Good that they didn't shoot, being uncertain of their target. I'm not one who believes that Sasquatch/Bigfoot is bulletproof, but neither are other creatures, including humans. Best not to go slinging hot lead around unless one is sure of where and in what it will come to rest. That looked like wide-open country you were camped in. Lots of potential for exploring there. Stay safe.
I heard a horrible growl outside my camp one night. It turned out to be a horse. Scared the bejesus outta me.
Since when do horses growl? 😮
Lil😂 dam horse.. haha
G'day Chris!
Cheers from 🇦🇺🐨
Keep on hiking!
I am more scared of gators and snakes than Sasquatch... or maybe both are equally scary to me.
Thank you, Thomas, for sharing your story... I believe you!
Thank you, Chris, for skillfully recounting the story!
I love the cool tent and the nice woodburning stove... I also love to watch you cook.
The campsite was beautiful😊
How lovely and cosy, Chris. Fabulous fire and great canvas tent ⛺️. Wonderful description from you of the setting for this swampy story. Loved the accompanying sound of the crunching and slurping! Thomas really deserved a happy, enjoyable, uneventful camping trip after his four years of service! Good to see you cooking out there. Yum. Cheers, Kiwi Linda 😄 P.S. Looking forward to Thomas’s next contribution.
Glad you enjoyed it! Coming up...🌲🦉🍺👀
Again....Another Wonderful video!! God Bless you Chris...Frank from Ohio..
Hey Chris! 👋
Cheers from okanagan valley British Columbia 🇨🇦
Looking forward to part 2 of this story! Love the funny old fingers commercial!☕️🐎🐴🐎
Great story, there's a short (well actually rather long) clip of a guy that filmed a bigfoot digging out something from a cypress tree in Mississippi. Swampy area for sure.
Loved that hot tent🏕. Those seem to be making a comeback from the olden days! Olden days 🙂 hadn't said that one for awhile!
Haven't found anybody that tell stories like Chris! Easy to listen to 🙂
Bushwacking! I Love it!! Killer stove! I'm familiar with "Fiddling" for bait. I'm from Northern AL., Great Story! Long Night, I can imagine. If wasn't so old and grizzled I would go with you! Keep Hiking!
Excellent story telling, nice cliffhanger.
Camping was great also.
Thank you Chris👣
Glad to watch another video! Great Story! Heard about the Honey Island Monster when I was in the Army from guys from that area.
Wow
Love the Folgers audio! Great job! Loved the scenery and sunrise! Thank you so much for sharing!!!!
Great story! Camp looks very warm and cozy and your burger is making me hungry!!!
Happy trails Chris...Excellent story!
I am so afraid of bears and bigfootLOL to ever camp outside my fenced in backyard. Love ya Chris. Be safe!
Super great story!!! I especially love it when you get to camp and tell these stories...it's just awesome!! Thank you
Wow! What a awesome camping tent and wood stove!!😀
Such a wonderful tale ! So interesting and so riveting . Thank you Chris
Love the stove and the tent and everything. You make camping look fun. Keep the videos coming.
Chris I loved your stories and especially when you camp out! It bothers me though that you are alone.Be careful my friend.
Thank you, I will
Awesome share thanks
Absolutely loved the end. Folger coffee my favorite.
Hey Chris you're back! Woo hoo! Really missed you. Love your whole set up & approach to telling your stories. 🇨🇦
Tales with ale! ❤ Appreciate your travels and dedication to sharing these experiences. Keep it up! 😊
Love the stories! Happy Holidays, Chris and Family!😅❤
Another great story Chris. Please keep them coming. You sure are a great story teller. Keep Hiking.
Whew. I live in Mississippi (and about 1 mile away from the Pearl River) but I hunt on a place called “Honey Island” in Belzoni, Mississippi in the Delta. This title blew my mind until Chris said it was the other Honey Island. Still crazy.
I was born in Greenwood. Know the area around Belzoni you hunt. Wouldn't be surprised if you see one one day. I live 20 miles from the Pearl, in Louisiana, that's a very isolated river system.
@@robcarpenter8465 mom grew up in greenwood! Ha who knows. Would be terrifying but I’m more afraid of meth heads and scared poachers. Those I’ve actually had a couple encounters with lol.
I really enjoy listening to your stories!
What a great story, Chris! Thank you for sharing and also including camping and cooking in your content. It always makes for a better experience. KH!
Love the story. Love the campsite. It reminded me of when I used to go camping in the Utah desert. I felt I could just smell those PJ trees surrounding your campsite right through the computer monitor. I'm going to have to start camping again next year.
I love your videos! I enjoy your stories! Oh the Places You Will Go! Dr, Seuss would be proud, so beautiful! Be careful in your wanderings!
Really loved the 'extra spice' you added with the old coffee commercial!
Frightening experience for those two and not even in a tent! Good that they quick went and got the light to shine into the woods and get the gun. Nice looking burger that you cooked up. You called it a gourmet burger and I was wondering what made it gourmet? Your tent and wood stove looked very cozy. Hope you had a nice time exploring the rest of that area. Looking forward to story #2 from this guy. Take care.
Enjoyed the camp/tent set up before the story and making dinner.....another great vlog Chris!
Awesome, thank you!🌲👀🦉
Another great story Chris. I look forward to Sunday mornings for Breakfast with Base Camp Chris and all the other fans out there listening. Thank you again.
Hey Chris. Thanks again for another great story. Nice tent! B careful out there..
Thank you for all the stories and wonderful adventures love the campstove.
Lovely tent fit for a family ✨️✨️✨️
Thank you. Sorry about the long night. Like the tent and stove. Beautiful spot. Believable story. Love it.
Good Morning Chris! 🏕 Gee, you sure looked comfy this morning in your sleeping bag. 😴😪
You have a nice tent there my friend, how many people can it sleep?
Your wood stove/oven looked as if it worked like a charm, your gourmet burger looked so yummy, it made my tummy grumble 😋😄😉 I'm just glad that Bigfoot didn't smell your burger cooking and decide to join you for dinner, oh WOW, what would you have done if he had? 😲😨
Thank you for sharing Thomas and Nicks event Chris, that was pretty good!
Take care and keep hiking my friend! 👣🌾👣👣🌾👣👣👣🌾👣👣🌾👣
What a beautiful place to camp.
That tent with the stove is so cool…along with the smash burger meal and spooky story;)
I love all the content you’ve a great story teller!
I Really enjoy your story telling, and getting a peek into another persons life. When you panned the area,it seemed like you could have been camping on another planet.Stay safe😊
Awesome stories, as always. Enjoy the way you tell them, too! Along with your fun camping/hiking treks! Thanks for sharing!
Love the Folgers commercial added in there Chris LOL I even heard the Folgers Lady - always the perfect audio/visual touch from you! We currently have Maxwell House in our pantry "Good to the last drop" ☕ Good to see you and your new video!
Great story Chris and thanks Thomas for sharing. Very clever leaving us with a cliffhanger for a part 2!
Good morning from Ontario! You’re so blessed to enjoy such stunning scenery!! 😍
A cliffhanger! Can’t wait for part two! Great video as usual!
Love what you do, please never give up!we appreciate you
Can't waite for part two/ second encounter w Thomas☺... I like the cozy tent
Gonna be a Great Episode. Mississippi Encounter. Kick back and have a Hot Chocolate. Thanks Chris for telling these Encounters.
Great story, Chris. What an amazing setup! Your tent with the wood burning stove looks so cozy! These types of videos are my favorites of yours. Some beautiful views in the Pine Nuts as well. I definitely saw Job’s Peak in the background. It must have been magical waking up to a light dusting of snow out there. I’m looking forward to more similar content to come!
It’s very peaceful there.
Hey Chris! Great story as I live in Mississippi.
Making coffee and sitting down to another great story from Base Camp Chris … brilliant ☕️😊👍
I recently made several trips across the Pearl River Swamp. A very primitive and rugged place. I really enjoyed your reading these mens story and look forward to hearing more like it. Primitive camping is also my favorite outdoor activity so i really enjoyed you highlighting your equip…
Chris I LOVED this video!
- The camp run down, explaining your set up! Great!
- The story content: FUN! I really enjoyed the story and the way you delivered it (of course that's why we're all here so this one was easy points for you...)
- The camera positioning during the story: VERY solid! I was watching this with the family and half way through the video sat up and went "Wait! Is he doing rule of 3rds?" Even if it was accident, I've said before I'm noticing improvements to your videos as a whole!
- Finally, the meal! My GODS, it's my favorite part. It completes the whole 'camping with Chris' vibe and looked delicious!
I love your content as a whole, with a few minor complains in some recent videos aside, I look forward to your postings. But this was the best one since that time you did a video from the site of the story, and in some ways I'd argue this was better production value. (The other just had the special 'it was right here' vibe)
I hope you keep it up and I as always Keep Hiking!!
Nice location for a place to camp overnight. Great video as well. 😊
Thanks 👍
Always fun Chris, and the nostalgic coffee segment took me waaaay back!
I remember those commercials plus my parents drank Folgers coffee ☕️
Awesome!! I love your content and am about to watch this! I’ve been thinking about the honey island swamp for a couple of weeks now, since I first discovered your channel and was wondering if you would ever come up upon something from the Honey Island Swamp. I lived until recently in Mississippi (can’t wait to go back) not far from the Honey Island Swamp. Looking forward to watching this episode.
Have a great week!
Great story Chris! Love the tortilla idea, bread gets smashed. Keep camping and hiking, 😊
Nice tent set up, nice and cozy warm.
Great scenery. Thanks, Chris. Great story.
Glad you enjoyed it!! C
Hey Chris, you look cozy. Looking forward to part 2.
Thanks Chris for the stories. Do you track your steps? A one man production team is hard work. We appreciate 🙏🏾
I love how you tell peoples stories, I told my sister about your channel now she watches you almost everyday we’re addicted😂 thanks for all you do! I know it’s a lot of work to put out a video, it truly is an art! Always looking forward to the next video ❤
Yay! Thank you! C🍺🦉🌲👀
Greatly appreciate this story Chris and your camping adventure!
Thanks for sharing that super creepy story. 😊
Good to see you out camping glad you didn’t freeze. Great story as well. We make burger like that as well using a flour tortilla. Healthier choice for sure. Truly enjoy your stories and the sound effects. Keep them coming we look
Forward to them. Stay safe out there. We like the stove in the tent as well.0
Great story Chris! Real scary! There would be no way on earth to camp out in remote country. I love nature but freaky things happen. I love a good scary story though. It was creeping me out knowing you were camping out there in a tent! Lol. Keep those great stories coming. I look forward to them! Stay safe and warm ❤
It’s desolate in that area!
That scenery is heavenly ❤️
When I was younger we used to go camping. Best part was the ghost stories around the fire! I wish more kids would do that instead watching tv and playing video games!
Excellent story telling, Chris 😮😮😮
Love the entire set up you have for camping. I really miss the wilderness so much.
Great story. Eager to her the next one.
I used to live near the Honey Island swamp. It’s beautiful out there. I went on a swamp tour once when I had out of state visitors.
Looking forward to the next Thomas story!!! 😊❤
Always love your videos!!!😊❤
If you've ever seen the tv series ' swamp people ' about alligator hunters ... harlan fords grand daughter ( i believe it is ) was married to one of the alligator hunters . And they talked about that whole story & she's been interviewed on another program about bigfoot .
That was a good one. I love the folgers commercial. Lol.
Thank you Chris for doing another camping video and story great video
