IT Stood Up and Took 3 steps to go Across the ROAD!

- Hi Guys,
Many people have encountered what we call cryptids ( Bigfoot or Sasquatch ) while out in nature usually while camping, hiking or hunting. But most encounters seem to happen while people are driving down a lonely road at night and experience one of these creatures running across their path. This can be very frightening. I have 3 stories of people that have had such an event happen to them.
Watch the road!!
Keep Hiking!!

I love the way people see things like this, then decide to follow them. Me, I’d be long gone.
So would I.
I would be long gone also. No way I'm sticking around lol
Lol
Fight or Flight… flight is a good option. I agree! ✈️ ⬆️
😂😂😂, I thought the exact same thing, I would be grating the road backwards, 😂😂😂
I always feel more at ease when you tell your stories while you are inside. It seems safer for you.
Isn't that the truth, it makes me nervous when he is outside telling his stories and the sun goes down and he is in the dark.😨
Haha i know what you mean!
Yes it’s time to drink some coffee relax and listen to a awesome narrator of people’s experiences
Good scary music at the end! As I was listening to this episode, I thought "sasquach seem to travel at night... emergency vehicles like ambulances often travel at night. I wonder if, like airforce pilots with UFOs, emergency workers often encounter bigfoot but are discouraged from reporting it?".
Speaking of Vietnam you should look up the "rock ape" stories during the the Vietnam war. The U.S. soldiers saw them and so did the North Vietnamese army soldiers. The North Vietnamese even sent wildlife expeditions to find proof of them. They call them rock apes because both sides of the war had rocks getting thrown at them in the remote jungle. I'm pretty sure this was on record before the patty footage even came out too
Good info - thank you!! 🌲🦍🌲chris
I've heard stories about that as well, being a big military history buff. Also, although in my opinion at least, the show was a bit silly ( entertainment not information) "Finding Bigfoot" did an episode in Vietnam one time. Of course, they didn't find anything, lol!
My uncle was a Green Beret in the Vietnam war. He rarely talked about his time there but on occasion he told me stories about dealing with cobras, tigers and, yep, rock apes, he might have called them stone apes. He said they would catch glimpses of them by day and at night they would through rocks at them. He said it like it was just one of those things. I only heard recently they are considered "cyprids". I believe him 100%.
Aye I watched a documentary about the american soldiers having to fight the rock apes in Vietnam, was very interesting, they clearly were bigfoot who didn't want the Americans there, like the alleged kandahar giant in Afghanistan who took out a whole platoon of marines,it took a second squad of marines who had to shoot this giant in the face to kill it,strange,a white ginger haired giant living in the caves of Afghanistan, sounds like a Scotsman😂,im from scotland and most of us are pure white with ginger hair lol,we don't see the sun too often 😢
@@SubPablum Any details of the description of these animals? Did they ever fire back at them? I heard this did happen on occasion as sometimes US personal were attacked, mainly at night though.
Out camping right now. Making coffee over a campfire. Perfect timing. Thanks Chris
Oh how nice, enjoy that campfire for me, have fun, I will be thinking of you! 🔥
@@didibolter9362 I'm camped just along the edge of the Mogollon Rim in Arizona with a nice view and surprisingly great reception up here. I live for this stuff.
No signs of Sasquatch.....yet.
@@matthewcraig8926 Oh wow, let's just hope that you don't have any of them visiting your campsite! 🐒
Keep the campfire going so they'll stay far away! That's if their afraid of fire.🔥
You be safe out there Matthew, enjoy your camping trip with all those gorgeous views! 😉
My wife and I are always busy, but when I mention that we should watch Base Camp Chris she drops everything . Chris, you are the Bob Ross of story telling. Have a stressful day, just sit down and watch Chris.
You guys are great! Thank you...C🌲
A beer review is an awesome idea Chris.
Big fan over here from Mansfield ( Robin Hood country ) England.
Keep hiking dude 👍
I am from Mansfield too
No offence to Chris but he certainly doesn't pour right. Always ends up with too much froth 😂
Just an observation from an alcoholic Brit
I love the clips of you driving down those dark, rual backroads.. They add an even spookier vibe to the video..
Thank you… that was up on Ebbetts pass I. The Sierra late at night!!!! 🌲👁️🌲
Great stories Chris! You make Sundays better!
Glad to hear it!⛺️
Ready for a homemade blueberry muffin, a cup of coffee and a story with Chris. Wish you were here to have breakfast with us in Tennessee, Chris. Thank you again for bringing us these stories. ❤
I LOVE Tennessee! What time do we eat 😆
I always like to make a special snack for these stories and today it was locally produced gourmet cheese and sliced Honey Crisp apples 😊
thank you chris., loved these storys today! we live in wa. state close to mt pilchuck and the mountain loop highway. sometimes we like to drive to a town called darrington , on a 20 mile unpaved road. we live in sasquatch country and are always keeping an eye out for them. so far no sightings for us, but many neighbors, and my horseshoer have seen or heard them going through the firests on their lands. my horse guy said he was outside doing yardwork when he heard and felt this rumbling sound coming through his property. and the crash of brush and tree limbs! He felt an instant dread abd ran back up and into the house, and locked the door! Later that day he went to the sight where be heard the sound and found some strange looking reddisg brown hair on some of the brush. He did get a sample and showed his vetenarian! The doc said it wasnt consistant with bear fur , but wouldnt speculate what it might be. I have lived in the area for 30 + years, and have heard lots of folks tell of their sightings.
Hi Chris, my mother and I have just discovered your channel as of last week and we are absolutely hooked! We've watched 20+ of your past videos now - we love your story-telling abilities, the wonderful locations of your campsites and the amazing format of your show - also the beer tasting!! Keep up these great stories and accounts - they are fascinating and truly terrifying! Much respect from England!
Thank you so much...Appreciate it! More to Come! Chris🍺🐻👀🌲
Really glad that Randy was able to share his story with you and with us. Leaving food and water - what a super-kind man.
Loved today’s stories, Chris. Thank you from kiwi land 🕊🙂
I think of all the times I've driven on mountain roads in Arizona and one of these creatures could have appeared out of nowhere. Enough to give me the whim whams about driving at night! Great stories, Chris.
Don't get the whim whams 😅😂
🇭🇲
Never heard of whim was before but I link it.
Thank you for another great video Chris.
I've camped in and been to Ocala National Forest. It's huge and very beautiful. I've no doubt a species such as Sasquatch could live in those woods.
My Sunday is now complete, having enjoyed yet another "Base Camp Chris" video
"Keep Hiking"...
Are there a lot of swamps in that forest? I can’t imagine having all that hair in the heat.
Would love to be on location there and tell a story!!⛺️👁️🌲thanks!
@@katchevy5367In the Ocala Forest, there are a number of lakes in The Forest. It's more of a terrain called Florida Scrub. Lots of open dry areas with forests of Pine, Oak and clusters of Palmetto trees. There are a few rivers in The Forest like the Silver River that comes from The Silver Springs in Ocala and The Ocklawaha that meets the St. John's River that is on the eastern edge of The Forest. It might get swampy near those waterways but as a rule, in the heart of The Forest itself, it's not as "swampy" as other areas in Florida not that far away. Plenty of good fishing in all of those lakes found here. An interesting thing here, there are several live fire bombing ranges operated by the Navy both on land and on part of Lake George that is part of the St. John's off to the east.
Hey Chris you're the one. Good stories as always. I would love to have a Sasquatch for a friend and be able to track through the forest with it. I've hiked a lot over my life but never saw one except one time at night when it or something followed me for a good bit and thank God it never caught up. There's one thing though chris, I no beer is popular what's the lot of people but I never cared for it. I wish you wouldn't advertise it as a lot of people can't handle it and wrecks their lives, some terribly! No offense, just my thoughts. I really really do enjoy your show program and you are an excellent storyteller and you might get some Sasquatch addicted😮 well good o l e District friend, I'm out of here and always looking over my shoulder😮 take care and keep hiking.❤❤❤
I live in Florida and there's a lot of encounters in the Ocala National Forest, my ex had a cabin close to there and he had activity at his cabin b4, after a party, his sister was passed out drunk in a wheelbarrow and someone woke up and saw this thing standing over her watching her. I wasn't around at the time but heard the story and it was all wooded in that whole area. Thx, great stories
Having a cup of coffee and listening to more great stories! Thank you Chris!
Thanks for listening🐻⛺️🌲
Chris, as usual, you are the master storyteller! Great story.
Thank you!!! ⛺️🐻🌲
We want more than once a week storytelling from you my man!! Good stuff!!
Sunday = Base Camp Chris = great stories 😁
Awesome! Thanks!🌲
@@basecampchris😊👍
Thank you Chris for sharing more goose bump stories. They are so scary and freaky but exciting. Traveling down dark roads scare me and I can only imagine running across these creatures!!! Great stories Chris! Be safe out there. ❤
Love your videos! Look forward to Sundays. The only thing I don't understand is the people who never go in the woods again. The chances of them seeing one again is very slim obviously. Hmm.
I think that once you see one, you know they are there. That’s all it takes.
In 1980 my older brother was killed in a car accident on Hwy 70 on the way to Quincey CA. That is a slow going road. He was a mountain man that panned for gold as a living in that area. Once he shared with me that he had heard an incredible loud scream, and was pretty convinced that there was a Sasquatch in the area where he had a mining claim. He was 36 years old when he died on that highway from a drunk driver.
Thank you for sharing that… sorry for your lose. Chris 🌲
My condolences to you 🙏🌹
I’m so sorry for you and your family. Taken to soon.
Sorry for your loss❤
😮 so sorry to hear of your loss very sad doesn't seem fair how he died so young awe
I really enjoy your stories. There is so much garbage on tv I really don’t watch much anymore. I also listen to one’s more than once and it also take my mind off things so I can relax and sleep.
Glad you like them! Thank you!⛺️
What amazes me about most the stories is how bigfoots seem to broadcast a strong fear that changes people.
I CAN TELL YOU WHY ON MY POINT A VIEW. They give off an energy of what they are feeling and you feel it 100% so if they feel anger some will drop to your knees.THANK God I HAD ONE THAT WAS KIND
Great video, thanks Chris--we appreciate you too!! I'm creeped out just watching video of someone driving down a dark, desolate road...nope, just can't, not in person!! Stay safe. Love, hugs & God Bless you💕💕
Thanks so much!👍🌲⛺️
Yes sir Sunday morning story let’s go🎉
Just drove home this evening from a country park north of Glasgow in the dark that's the sort of story that was going through my mind! Blooming scary! Cheers Chris!!!👍
I used to live very close to The Ocala National Forest. Its one of the hotspots in Florida for Bigfoot sightings. I now live about 60 miles or so south from where I was, not far from The Green Swamp, another hotspot for Florida Bigfoot sightings. There are several local Bigfoot research groups that do forays into both wild areas, having encounters and video of possible Bigfoot sightings. Whether or not those creatures reakiy do live in those places, they sure look and feel that should and could do so. I've not spent any time in the Green Swamp but I have done so on the waterways that run through The Forest in my boat. I've never seen anything like a Bigfoot, just plenty of Black Bear and other creatures of the woods. I don't care to see one and hope that I never do. I'm more comfortable with the thought that there are Bigfoots rather than knowing the reality that they do.
More great stories! People, if you drive in areas like this get yourself a dashcam for the car. They're not that expensive anymore, and you might just capture some great footage. I myself like to drive at night, and in some pretty lonely wild places. I have a dashcam and figure I'll be shocked and scared, but the camera can get pictures regardless.
Or at least a dashboard phone holder to videotape the forest drives.
Thanks for these fascinating stories every week! I’m spreading the word about your channel. Really enjoy every video!!
Awesome, thank you!⛺️
I watch your channel every Sunday morning always a pleasure to hear about the encounters awesome!
Glad you like them!🍺🌲⛺️
Love hearing stories from your studio Chris. It look's nice and cosy in there!
Yes- try to make it nice and cozy! Thanks for listening… 🌲⛺️🌲
Great story chris. These places are millions of acres. We really dont know what is out there esp at night.
Hi Chris I'm always looking forward to listen to your scary stories thank you ❤
Thanks for listening Laly! 🌲
Stories about encounters on the road with Bigfoot are always creepy. Thanks Chris. I loved it. ❤
Good Morning Chris from Arizona....These are Great Stories..
Glad Randy was in his Grader...Safer...I wonder how he felt having eye😮 contact with the Sasquatch..
It was nice of him to leave food and water though...
I remember your drawing on your door of Sasquatch and a person.
That is a really big Sasquatch..
Gary & Kevin heading to Susanville (been there) to be that close to Kevin he is lucky that it didn't try to grab his door...How terrifying....😮😮
Mike had a nice drive..Montana is Gorgeous 😊 Big Sky Country...There are alot of sightings of Sasquatch there I have heard...We have seen something in the distance on Beartooth Pass...
Salmon River area is huge.
Good that his father moved to Idaho....😊
I wonder if I would of had the nerve to stop and take pictures...
Thank you for your email...
Love your stories on Sunday mornings...
Take Care, Chris....bye for now....Susie
Hi Chris !!! I caught this early this time, lol. Thank you so much for making this excellent true story. I love your lil "Cabin" where you tell the best true stories near a fire. Cozy n spooky at the same time!!!
Glad you enjoyed it! Thanks!⛺️🐻🌲
Another set of great stories Chris and love your set up there in your cabin!
Thanks Jan!!👍🌲
Awesome stories, Chris! I would love a "road encounter" just once. I'll leave the foot encounters to the younger people. At 76 I would either be overrun by Bigfoot or I would have a stroke.
The music at the end is so spooky! Thank you Chris for another great story, KH!
I just LOVED the transitions between the stories! Thanks for the stories Chris, and Keep Hiking!
I went through the y junction this fall. I had my eyes searching the sides of the road. I’m always watching and looking.
Yes- wild country up there. Amazing canyon on the Feather! ⛺️
Wooohoooo!!! Story time with Chris!!
We love hearing your stories!!!
Thanks!!!!❤️🌲⛺️
WOW! That Bigfoot stared right into Kevin's eyes! WOW, how scary is that!?! I sure wouldn't be sticking around for a handshake!!
Fantastic event telling my friend! You always make the ambiance so welcoming and comfortable, thank you for caring and sharing! You are amazingly awesome Chris!
Keep hiking! 🌲👣🌲👣🌲👣🌲👣🌲👣🌲👣🌲👣🌲👣🌲👣🌲
I wonder what you would do if you met a Bigfoot in the woods?
Thank you for you generous comment!! Appreciated! I have heard things late at night while out there…kept my wits about me… but not an easy thing!🐻⛺️🌲
@@basecampchris Would definitely be hard to keep your wits if something was screaming or growling at you and only a piece of nylon between you and it.
@@basecampchris Oh my goodness Chris! I would never be as strong as you, I would have lost my wits and everything else as soon as I heard the first noise! 😆😅😄😃😂😁😊😉

Great stories tonight. I really enjoy them. I got my husband hooked, too. Keep it up.
The words "Donner Party pass and tasty" should not be going together considering its history !😂
Somehow you managed to do that in your video with some class Chris!👍
Wow! That’s near where I live. Cool that he left food and water. I won’t be going into the Ocala national forest anytime soon! Thanks Chris!❤
Chris, you should set up a campout with your viewers!!
Luv the stories and your cabin too. Any chance of getting more stories out during the week?
☺️ Yes PLZ 🤔😍
Such an awesome story teller...
Awesome. Thx Base Camp.
I had a friend and his wife tell me years ago the same story about seeing a 'big foot'
Cross the road in front of them.
Totally upright folks....I then truly believed these beings are here. He passed so many years ago...
Really great stories! I could listen all night!
WOW! Great ones again! Especially that last one in Montana! Loved them!!
Hi Chris! Saving this for tonight! 🌲💚🌲
Hope you enjoy⛺️
@@basecampchrisI always do!!🌲💚🌲
Yes, these encounters that people have sound pretty scary. I would rather hear someone else's story than have one of my own. Although a part of me would like to see one I know I would really freak out.
I feel the same way. I would like to see Bigfoot from a distance, but who knows what kind of fear or terror might lingered afterward .

Ok Chris I love your stories so much I find myself having a hard time waiting for Sunday for your latest video. You have got to start doing a mid week one also. They are just too good. Thank you for all that you do to share these with us. I know it is time consuming.

Hey Skippy! You are so welcome… KH!👍🌲⛺️
Hey, Chris, last February, I was able to buy an electric "wood stove", and it looks just like your 'studio' stove.⛺️🕯
Since then, whenever one of your videos pops up on youtube, I 'fire up' the stove and turn out the lights, and have a true campfire experience! 🏕

I know that exact area in the Ocala National Forest. I never saw a Bigfoot because I was always looking with eyes straining for the local rattlesnakes. They are very big, I have seen big Texas rattlesnakes and those Eastern Diamondbacks are 3 times larger.
Wow! And in The thick brush/ forest of Florida…⛺️🌲🌲
It's Sunday and podcast base camp Chris I legit wait all week!!
Hello, and thank you for another great video! I truly look forward and enjoy them! Stay safe & “keep hiking!”

I often think of the encounters before internet. There was no real resource to turn to. Today people can find out they are not crazy.
Chris save those empty Beer cans and place them on display in your shed where you make some of your videos as a tribute to each video you have created.
Great idea!!! 🍺cheers!
Great story teller. Me, if i saw these big foots I would be out of there . No interest in feeding them taking pictures, just gone.
