Great info here. Paying more attention to Magnesium in particular has been a life changer for me. Would appreciate a video on the various forms of Magnesium.
L Threonate is the bomb, crosses the blood brain barrier. I recommend Jarrows 2000mg. I take two at 2pm and one after 8pm because magnesium gets absorbed better after 8pm.
The biggest things I notice from taking electrolytes is that they help with my energy level and decreasing stress (calming effect) as I work the night shift, 12 hours, and also the softening my skin very shortly after taking them. I can feel the palms of my hands are soft instead of dry.
My husband and I have been taking Potassium and Magnesium Citrate for a year now and both of our blood pressure runs around 100/60. His used to be so high that even on blood pressure pills it was still 140/90. Mine used to be 130/85-ish before Dr. Berg's Keto/IF and the supplements. Although our blood pressure seems low now, our blood Oxygen levels are always 99%. We live in a slightly higher than average elevation area (3800 feet/1160 m)
I have gone to the ER several times with chest pain, shortness of breath, and generally feeling horrible. Only to perk right up once the saline starts going in. I finally figured out that despite my love of salty food, I still have to add salt to my drinking water. I have a health condition called myalgic encephalomyelitis, which is too complicated to explain here, but chronic dehydration is a common symptom. Once I started to supplement with daily electrolytes, things like blood draws got a lot easier. They used to be torturous, with multiple sticks and a few tears.
Big up for your teaching Doctor Berg, so HELPFULL, so kind of you to help learning what's going on in our body, I'm french and inderstand all you describe. Thank you, THANK YOU!!!!Blessings.
I ate big fat burritos almost everyday and here I am with ectopic heartbeats , started taking Magnesium 400 mg a day and Dr Berg electrolyte powder with 60% potassium and D3 K2 from Bronson and I am feeling 90% fine, it’s all mineral deficiency most of the time which creates heart arrhythmia
Thanks Dr Berg I just ordered 3 containers of your electrolyte powder. I cant wait to try it, i have been using the hilyte electrolyte solution but it only has 150mg of potassium per serving.
Dr. Berg so my 26 yr old daughter was put in icu . Diabetic ketoacidosis. She (we) did not know she was diabetic. Stayed w her each night. First night did not have your sleep aid. Last night , I did. They come in every 30 min to hour ...to draw blood, check blood , bathroom , minister meds ,nausea med , pain meds. She has pancreatitis n fatty liver. Glusocose down from 450 to 140 but sometimes jumps back up over 200. So I took took your sleep aid and guess what ? I was able to actually sleep even in the midst of all this happening. Lights being turned on and off. Nurses talking. That is amazing. From someone who has had insomnia n this happening to daughter has me hyped up to help ....yet I know I need my sleep in order to think n learn ..be there for her...and yes , your sleep aid is amazing . It works ! Sharing your videos w her. ❤
I'm doing OMAD most days for probably 6-9mos now & I love It! I feel empowered most days, but I still struggle with leg/foot cramps, some strange right side like pain l & honestly that's pretty distressing cos I don't know what causes it the right side pain in the hip area that is. Electrolyte balance is so important, but DIFFICULT for me to maintain & I'm not even a real athletic person just doing my 45min. minimum suggested stress releasing walks on the beach everyday. However, I do struggle with handling stressors AND the STRUGGLE IS REAL people HA! Dr. Berg has been so helpful & I LOVE TH-cam 💝 & All the Doc's helping to inform people/ME💖thanx
2:02 A great method of adding potassium in meaningful amounts would be to dissolve cream of tartar into your liquid of choice. One teaspoon of cream of tartar contains approximately 500 milligrams of potassium. The exact amount may vary slightly based on the brand and specific product.
I hope ANYBODY will read this. I want to share that I was experiencing depressions, anxiety, bloating, digestive issues, memory loss, teeth & hair loss.... after having tried EVERYTHING and nothing worked, I was seeing that B1 video with Dr Berg. Since then, my life has changed COMPLETELY. I am a new person. It is a miracle, really... I had no idea how important vitamin B1 /B Complex /Inositol(B8 especially!) are for the body and how easy it is to become deficient.
At the weekend I did a 48-hour successful fasting experiment. Hunger was not a problem but thirst and dry mouth were. I drank 2-3 times more water than usually but it still did not solve the thirst problem. Is it related to electrolyte deficiency? Could you make a video about this thirst topic? My girlfriend complained about my bad breath but I could not smell it. I usually smell it when I have it. How fasting changes the breath? Thanks for all your videos.
Magnesium citrate gave me issues like a laxative effect. Researched and discovered magnesium GLYCINATE absorbs in different area and have no issues with it at all. I’ve found it on amazon, not local stores. But good for ppl to know who are sensitive to the other forms.
I agree with Nancy M I have tried several natural and prescriptions things for High Blood pressure they seem anti viral anti bacterial diuretic counter irritant and parlyzing to endothelial cells and nerves. Have neuropathy stiffness paralysis from High blood pressure. Sweet basil helps on amlodipine thought I was getting cramps just from diuretics. Well it is and dehydration went back to eating old food diet stopped diuretics this alleviated somewhat. Strangest thing added more salt to diet and helped with cramps and high blood pressure. It doesn't make my blood pressure spike and my body gets rid of excess within 30min of consumption. Taking things for nerve damage and helps blood pressure. Thought electrolyte imbalance tried zinc potassium calcium etc two main deficiencies were are sodium and magnesium. This is opposite medical recommendations but it worked on my body. Acid foods astringent make me crampy alkaline not much better try to eat balance of sodium potassium rather than eliminating from diet. Same with acid alkaline seems in my body trying to correct imbalance creates another imbalance. Better to just stabilize diet with near equal amounts of both and get from food not tablets. Alot of tablets have fillers binders and excipients that are unlisted and can cause unseen allergic responses in sensitive people. Btw L theanine good supplement but too strong for my system High Blood pressure so I drink cup Lipton decaff tea gives just right amount to stabilize w/o tension and nerve pain between prescription med amlodipine. Also Take magnesium gluconate ad hoc and melotonin 2hr prior to bed. Sports drinks do not balance electrolytes as well as sales pitches claim some contain alot of carbonic and citric acid along with taurine my body doesn't like.
I have purchased your orange flavored electrolyte powder over a month ago. I am 71 and not as active as when I was younger. I love to mix it w your Raw Wheatgrass juice... my question is can I use the electrolyte powder daily? Thank you.

I add 1 spoon of apple cider vinegar organic and 1 spoon of lemon juice. organic. The body need 4,700 mg of potassium a day. Dr Berg recommends 1 scoop of the electrolyte powder a day and eat veggies. 😊
Electrolyte work by balancing the osmotic/ electrochemical gradients from between the extracellular and intracellular fluid, allowing exchange of ions/substrates between these two boundaries. Also the case for area like the mitochondria and endoplasmic reticulum. Sodium (Na+), Potassium (K+), Magnesium (Mg2+), Calcium (Ca2+), Chloride (Cl-) and Bicarbonate (HCO3-).
Hi Dr Berg! I’m T1D and was wondering if i can absorb sugar in my mouth to correct hypo BG without breaking my fast. Hope you can make a video on that! I find it amazing how my body is changing with your advice in only two months. Thanks!

Hello. A question about intermittent fasting. If I'm at 24 hour fast and ketones haven't got much hi yet did i had any benefit of the 24 hour fasting? If yes what are that benefits? I have a machine to see if the ketones are HI and sometimes at 24 hours the ketones are just at 0.3.. Normally if my last meal was hi in carbs. I'm a huge fan and thanks to you I got much better life. I see a lot of your videos but I can't find a answer to this question. If the kerones aren t hi did I had any benefits of fasting? Thanks a lot. Congrats
Hello Dr. Berg. Firstly, I am sorry that my language is not very good. I would like you to advise me. The thing is that I sleep only six hours or a little less, in order to have my time full in the rest of the hours. But the problem is that I noticed that I am gaining weight due to this problem, I think. So is there a suggestion that I can overcome this problem while considering maintaining my daily sleep hours. Thank you very much.
Dr Berg, you should do a video on Pneumonia given the current global epidemic and anything related to respiratory illnesses. Will probably increase your business too so win/win
Dr. Berg I am a diabetic that's been trying keto are doing keto I should say for about 2 months I still wake up with a blood sugar any word from 190 to 220 when or should I expect us to stop any help would be greatly appreciated
I feel bummed today. I went swimming Saturday and my Fitbit Versa is broken. Fitbit refused to replace it because my warranty has expired. My sleep was so good, it tracked my exercise, and many alarms to keep me on time.
Please Im actually trying to quit drinking coffee, though I call it my morning wd40! Can you tell us Biochemically... why contrary to many who think coffee is good for us it really is not beneficial to our health ??
Because while you fast your body is actually getting strengthened. Your body is learning to deal with cortisol and its basically getting stronger and it gets used to. So the next time you get really stressed your body knows how to deal with it better and your cortisol isnt going to do damage..correct me if im wrong on this one but i think this is it.
@@radkaolejnakova133 that doesn't make sense. The act of fasting will strengthen the ability to cope, activate and clean. Stress is causing the high cortisol. If you eat a lot of crap (ref carbs) than it's stressful to fast since you are addicted. If you start Keto (adding proper fuel to the body then it won't be stressful, as you won't be so hungry (hungry meaning you will be craving your drug=sugar, carbs)
Once you get used to a IF schedule that is sustainable for your lifestyle, you will not get that much cortisol as you will not be starving/hungry before your feeding window.
I started to use your trace minerals and realize that my toenails which were discovered are getting very clear I mean they were black to the point where if I want to wear a slippers I have put cute on but am getting there thanks for your program anyway I have a sister whose diabetic one of her feet is very swollen now and have a dent I mean like fluid what does she need for that please and thanks
I found you too late to save my Dad. A Doctor had him on a low fat/low sodium diet. I tried to talk him into a keto or keto/paleo diet but his doctor told him it would kill him. The week he died he was craving pickles and popcorn he was in and out of the hospital. I finally talked my Mom into going to a different hospital. The doctor there checked his blood but his veins were trying to collapse. When they finally got some he was completely depleted of electrolytes, both sodium and magnesium were so low they would not even show up on the test! Potassium was less than 1/4 of what it should have been! They immediately started an I.V to restore the electrolytes but it was too late he died of a heart attack the next day.
I take a supplement and eat plenty of fruit and veggies. Cardiologist told me I need to eat more salt because sodium to low and gyn told me my potassium and magnesium was low so had iv fluids of magnesium and pill form of potassium. I say this to say os there a non synthetic vitamin I can take? Or better yet why levels are so low with my eating lifestyle....
Electrolytes in the medical context are chemical compounds that contain light metals, like sodium (Na) in table salt (sodium chloride = NaCl; potassium chloride = KCl). All form ions when dissolved in water and because all are metals the ions are denoted by a plus sign (+). Electrolytes are needed to help the body retain water. Drinking more water will not alone fix dehydration, but merely increase urination. If you eat industrial food (including fast food) you will get enough table salt. But you might not get enough potassium (K). I have to take extra table salt because I get very little salt in my diet. I probably do not get enough potassium either. I take a prescription medicine that may deplete sodium. Occasionally, I get a little light-headed and when that happens, I add a packet of "electrolyte" to a (liter) quart of drinking water. These packets are sold over the counter in chemist's shops (drugstores) for use during episodes of diarrhea to replace lost electrolytes and correct the resulting dehydration. One to three packets over three days may be enough to fix mild dehydration. Factoid 1: Some medications can deplete potassium levels. Your doctor may be able to prescribe a different medicine with the same therapeutic benefit that does not deplete potassium. Factoid 2: The FDA allows lithium (Li, another light metal) to be used for treating mental disorder. However, the therapeutic doses are close to dangerous toxic levels. Lithium should not be used without medical supervision.

Good without keto, you can essentially replace sports drinks with it
no pedialyte is just sugar. its a big no.

Steam them. Never boil. Boiling results in leeching out of all the water soluble nutrients in the water, which is obviously not desirable.
steam is more ideal for ya, plus it'll have em taste all the more heavenly. eat up and best of luck

Thanks for watching!
Hello Dr.
Brilliant info, thank you :-)
GREAT JOB
Helpful & informative!
Thanks for your kind words!
Awesome detail thanks so much! By any chance, could electrolytes remove rosacea ?
It would be helpful with this video to show some foods that we can consume that will give us each of these. Potassium=bananas, potatoes, etc.
Dr Berg, you should do a video on Pneumonia given the current global epidemic and anything related to respiratory illnesses. Will probably increase your business too so win/win
Simon Sheena where have you been? He’s been doing videos like that all along.
Dr. Berg

I electrolike this. Keep up the good work buddy.
I feel bummed today. I went swimming Saturday and my Fitbit Versa is broken. Fitbit refused to replace it because my warranty has expired. My sleep was so good, it tracked my exercise, and many alarms to keep me on time.
What is your opinion on ASEA Redox?
Thank you so much Dr berg🤗

I have a question unrelated to this video but; Why is IF recommended for adrenal fatigue when cortisol rises while fasting ?
Radka Olejňáková this is a great question!
@@redconsciousness2090 by this logic any stress would strengthen you body so you would never get adrenal fatigue to begin with
@@radkaolejnakova133 that doesn't make sense.
😡its so upsetting...so sorry...
@@ninawildr4207 thank you. It was a Terrible week.
Tillema Contracting and Design I’m so very sorry that happened to your Dad and your family.
Are trace minerals a good source of electrolytes?
I take a supplement and eat plenty of fruit and veggies. Cardiologist told me I need to eat more salt because sodium to low and gyn told me my potassium and magnesium was low so had iv fluids of magnesium and pill form of potassium. I say this to say os there a non synthetic vitamin I can take? Or better yet why levels are so low with my eating lifestyle....
Are these the only 4 electrolytes or are there more?
How about salt substitute with potassium? R they okay?

"What even are electrolytes?" -President Luke Wilson
They're what plants crave!!
