After getting it working, I must say your settings make the remote play work flawlessly. I previously had chiaki set up on my 64gb deck but had to RMA that. That always seemed struttery and the audio wasn't great. Your instructions made the game feel almost native on the Deck. Thank you so much.
Same issue, tested some friends accounts and they showed up. Can't find an answer. Went to my PSN account under privacy settings and requested my data. They haven't sent anything yet but that hoping that works. @@thegamingcaffe

This is the first example that shows the absolute easiest method for getting the PSN id along with recommend bit rate settings. My experience had been playable with cracking audio; looking forward to testing these settings!

Wow, thanks so much for this tutorial! I've been playing Xbox Game Pass games through Microsoft Edge but the image quality is really dipping hard at times.. Setting this up was way easier and the image quality is insanely good! Played Gran Turismo 7 without any noticable latency.

This is so much better then Playstations own remote play software. Remote play whether wireless or hardwired ran so choppy. And the input latency is horrid. I get there are going to be some small interruptions when streaming. But come on man. Only tried Chiaki for a few minutes during this tutorial. So far, what a world of difference. Hadn't experienced any choppiness or input lag. If there is input lag, it's so minimal it may as well be not there. Thanks for the tutorial.
This made it so easy to set up. I was eyeballing the Portal, but ultimately I picked up a Steam Deck used. And this is flawless! Steam Deck worth it's weight in gold!

There's an issue with your website for getting the PlayStation Account ID,. It doesn't seem to like underscores, it grabbed a a different account that matches the characters that was after the underscore. Either way I got the python script to work and it's all good now, thank you for the video :D
Wow! You’ve definitely gotten my sub! I just literally sat down and not only did I set up ps5 remote play, I also set up Xbox and they work and run shockingly very very well! I have a few questions if you don’t mind me asking; 1) when it comes to remote play.. how does your fps work? I was able to play mw2, rocket league at 60fps according to my decks overlay performance and I was able to toggle the fps to 30, which also limited the game as well. I assume it’s not based on your internet connection? 2) this might be a stupid question.. but can I use chiaki & green light outside of my apartment and have remote access to them to play my game? Or does my steam deck have to be connected to the same network? Thank you so much once again. Great job!
Thanks for the sub Ali! 1. It will change the frame-rate output on the screen but the game will still render at whatever the PlayStation or Xbox is outputting. 2. You can but there's some port forwarding that will need to be done on your router and you may need to use a dynamic DNS service or VPN. I'm going to look into this some more for a followup video.

This is usually a bandwidth issue on your internal network. The Steam Deck only supports WiFi 5 so it's not on the bleeding edge. You could try reducing image quality to 720p, reducing the bitrate, and setting the frame rate to 30fps on the Steam Deck side as that will use significantly less bandwidth.
This worked great to set up. When playing COD for example, the image starts to get a bit unstable. The image is clear but at random, the screen will begin to flicker? Best I can explain is it flickers from the image to a white screen then back. Is there any tips on fixing this? Don’t think it’s WiFi related as it was working smoothly remote playing on a different device but with the actual remote play app.

Not implemented it myself yet but I am eager to try it out, just wondered if you could answer a couple of questions, one will be more of an opinion though. Could my PlayStation account get banned if I do this, seen as it is not using a PlayStation made app? I have bought quite a few digital games over the years and would not like to lose access to them.

Really dumb question... How would I get gyro to behave like motion controls? I'm playing Lost Paradise, and one of the minigames on it requires you to shake your controller. My ps4 controller's motion sensors broke and I only had the one.
My “Host:” doesn’t auto populate. I assume it’s the IP of your deck? I found the Deck IP, entered it in “Host:”. Entered my PSN ID from your tool webpage, entered the pin generated by my PS5’s link console. I get…. [I] Regist starting search [I] Regist sending search packet [E] Regist timed out waiting for search response [E] Regist search failed Note: I also looked up IP on my iPhone for S&G. I typed that in as Host: but same thing happened. I guess what I’m missing is what to put in as “Host:”

Thanks to this, you saved a 2020 keyboard that somehow wasn't "compatible" with the ps5, and made it actually usable.
Oh that's such a cool work around! I've seen people using Chiaki to use Xbox controllers with PS5 too.

Didn’t work on my PS4 just got an error timed out
Try power cycling your PS4 or checking that rest mode functions include remote play.
