Tried multiple ways of getting this running, but this video work perfectly! I was up and running playing diablo 4 on my deck from my ps5 within 15 minutes
@@josuesosa1157 from what I understand you can only access your PlayStation from your deck via remote play. I think there another method but I believe it's more involved than this

This is exactly my thoughts. I actually did purchase the portal. But once I found out the steam deck does it and does it better I decided to get the steam deck OLED and get rid of the portal.
Just got it up and running You save me 200 bucks from a PS portal as well. Just follow the instructions real easy and simple especially when somebody who's not computer savvy.

Excellent tutorial man, thank you. Saved me from buying my favorite games a second time. At first, I had an issue where I would get a stutter and the screen would flash white for a split second. I turned it to 720p and played with the bitrate down to 9k. Runs flawlessly now.

This video is only a few months old but unfortunately I'm not finding the chiaki4deck+mic gamepad layout referenced in this vid, which is hurting on the shortcut options front for backing out of games and such. If anybody has any recommendations for more recent gamepad layouts that make it easy to use the PS Home button and touchpad on deck, please let me know!
Love the video was super simple, but I keep getting Chiaki Session has quit unknown control error. It worked when i initially installed but then it stopped working. Not sure what im doing wrong. Got it figured out have to log into my ps5 (put in the passcode) to get to home screen then it works perfect. Thank you!!!
Following your directions here but as soon as a press register console after entering my encoded id and password it tried logging in and immediately says Regist eventually failed and my link pin on the ps5 goes away and says something went wrong. I have tried restarting both my ps5 and steam deck multiple times and can’t get it working. Any ideas?
Eventually I did. I just tried over and over like 40 times. Eventually it connected and has been working great since. Didn’t try anything different, just be persistent.
Just got my oled, followed everything thoroughly. Problem is, my psn id is not reading? What. Tried everything, did factory reset the deck. Still the same problem.
Not working for me. Ps5 is discoverable, so follow the steps. Then when I click register it gives me a somethings wrong message on both ps5 and deck saying my id is wrong. Which it isn’t.
Hello sir, do you know some ways to have a great latency? Its running perfectly actually but it's like every 15, or 30 seconds there are some "hiccups" that suddenly seems like a sudden lag ( only the screen is freezing but the sound still indicating that the gameplay still going on) and then after like 5 seconds the screen start to play again
Couple things first. Is your ps5 hard ited to the router or on wifi? Hardwired is always better if you can. Also depending on your home network if theres to many devices connected at a time this can sometimes be a problem. Now the first thing i would try in chiaki settings is lowering the video bitrate. It defaults 15k. Come down to 12k or 10k and see of still does it. Worst case try 6-8k as well. If that doesn’t work its another issue
This looks nice, would love to play spiderman 2 on my deck! Is this safe to use however? Since Chiaki is 3rd party software does it go against any of sony's terms of service? wouldn't want to get my psn banned 😅
For me the easiest is double tapping the screen to leave fullscreen mode. Close out the app and it wall ask if u want to put ps5 to sleep. If u use the stram button and exit game to close chiaki it will not ask and will leave the PlayStation on

Please help! I have chiaki running on my new OLED no problem, but chiaki4deck fails to connect. On WiFi it says there is a PlayStationid issue, but on Ethernet (works in regular chiaki) it just times out. Any ideas?

Same issue for me. Chiaki4Deck not appearing in the Discovery Store as of 18th/19th November 2023 (at least for me). The C4D Github pages show how to build a fresh flatpak, but that looks complicated.
I dont believe Sony supports any hdr remote play yet. Neither does xbox. Caps 1080p sdr. Still gonna look way better on the larger oled display. Cant wait to try it soon as my package arrives lol
My Chiaki randomly drops to 1 fps constantly. My connection is on Wi-Fi 6, PS5 in a CAT 6 cable. Is not a connection problem, but performance on steam deck. I've tried change tô H254, but just not works. Still dropping fps to 1 freezing The image.

I got it working in the end with the normal chiaki app. The deck one just did the above.

When I looked up chiaki it’s not loading the capsules. It’s just searching but nothing pops up

Never heard of any issues with Chiaki or this method. Ive been remote playing spiderman 2 on the oled deck amd its rly nice so far.

Does your ps5 need to be on, or just stand by mode? If stand by mode does it turn on when the deck connects to it? - thank you :)
Yes needs to be in standby mode so chiaki can wake it for remote play. Once done you can put the ps5 back to sleep when u close chiaki

I remote play in my house way more then i get to use the tv lol. Wife and kids man. That said it can never be setup to work away from home

That's very odd. My Internet isn't even the greatest and I probably get stutters 3% of the time. It's not even noticeable most times

Escape is the ps button. Use steam button plus x to bring up keyboard to hit esc or what i have is esc bound to my own hotkey for back buttons
