- 3D Printing and the New Cura 5.5 Release
Cura 5.5 is here, and it's bringing a new feature that will make 3D printing easier and faster than ever before! In this video, we'll show you what the new feature is, how to use it, and the benefits it can offer you.
The new changes in Curaq 5.5 make it a can't miss update.
Cura 5.5 Release - brew update
There will be 2 big things with plugins: paint on support, texture.
I have been using 5.5.0 for awhile now and have not had any problems until today. Most of the models did not require supports, but my new model does. Unfortunately, supports in cura 5.5.0 is not working for me. Yes, supports are enabled. It does not matter if I select tree or normal, touching build plate or everwhere. The supports don't show up when slicing. 5.4.0 works properly so I am going back for now.
I figured out a little more as I am seeing the issue with 5.6.0 now. As far as I can determine some of the configuration files are getting corrupted though I am not sure what is doing this. I was using the extension for tab warping the last time it happened. I tried, removing some of the extensions and even rebooted, but no luck. Finally I looked online and found how to reset cura back to default by deleting two cura folders in appdata local and appdata roaming. This worked, but all my specialized settings were gone including any special profiles. Before you delete these folders make sure you save a project file for each special profile.
You can also create a cura account and backup your profiles to ultimaker cloud.
How do you have the full printer lay out in cura?
what do you mean?
@minimal3dp I think they're talking about a 3D printer underlay. Usually, it's pure white, but you have a printer showing there.
certain printer brands have them under there profiles..
It doesn’t slice correctly on M2 Macs. I’ve gone back to 5.4 on an M1 Mac
That is weird. I am using an M2 and am not having any issues.
