    Would you consider spending some time in your videos on profiles explaining which settings actually made the difference to speed, and what bottlenecks you hit against going faster? I feel like a lot of folks see this all as just black boxes rather than knowable principles they can use and build on.

      From my own experience hotend flow rate and cooling becomes the limiting factors at high speeds.

    Not only have these profiles saved me countless hours, the extruder arm on my Ender 3v2 just broke. When I bought it I printed a spare from somewhere, and now my printer is up and running again. I don't know where the STL for the arm came from, but it says CHEP underneath.

  • @AndrewAHayes

    Th last fast profile completeley cocked my Cura up, it changed the bed to Ender V2 size and support density started changing itself to 100% and I cant print more than 2 multiples of parts as it then throws the parts off the build area, I ended up having to back up my computer and re- install LInux, I tried removing everything associated with Cura including going into the user folder but that would not solve the issue after a reinstall of Cura

    Thank you so much for this. It worked perfectly on my ender 3 s1 pro with Cura 5.30. Super fast prints. My 3d printer has just become a lot more useful. Cheers.

    70 next birthday and have just got my first ever printer, Ender 3 Pro. I am in the middle of printing the sample dog and I am absolutely blown away by it. The print has just got past the dogs tail, me and my good lady are opened mouthed watching it. The technology is amazing, What next? you can't help but ask oneself.
    Even to a complete novice your video's make for good viewing @CHEP so I thank you for that, I have subscribed and will watch some more over the next few days. Keep up the great work.

    I had basically shelved my printer from August last year until just a couple months ago. After disassembling EVERYTHING down to the left vertical and horizontal and resquaring, I found out the center support bar was bowed, FINALLY what the BLTouch was seeing!
    That complete, I now had to look at Cura. I was still running 4.13 and 5.0 was JUST about to come out. Once it did, I knew you wouldn't be far behind with a new version, but I at least compared the default "standard" profile, your last 4.1 profile, your FAST profiles, and my old "hybrid" of yours and my own adjustments. It was good to hear you saying "I modified it with *some* of his settings".
    To do this, I have a database (from my former life) that imports EVERYTHING in the "quality settings" folders as well as any special ones I don't want to load into Cura, but just want to compare. it then lets me pick and choose from list boxes which setting I want to import into a new profile, and then export it.
    I've been printing tabletop miniatures for the last couple days with a .12 profile and last night I used your "Best" profile as the basis, combining it with the settings of 3D Printing General, and the support settings from 3D Printerly (which just happen to be a blend of 3DPG and your profiles and their own tweaks).
    The minis came out great. Now...I have a host of tree supports to remove. Thank you for all that you do!

    This really brings out the "rapid" in rapid prototyping, these profiles sound perfect for quick iterations during development.

    Great job on getting a new video out so soon. Nice! And thank you for the shout-out. Happy you could use some of my Cura setting:) I tried your Hyper-fast profile, and it works flawlessly, its only a couple minutes slower than the profile I sent you, but I notice a quality improvement. Regarding your "goodprofile" on 0.2mm it's not something I'm going to use since it's only 5%-10% faster than the "standard" profile you get on Cura and quality is same or slightly worse. I have developed a Good quality 0.2mm profile off your "Xtrafast" 0.28mm profile and it's only about 30% slower than your hyperfast profile, 8% slower than your Xtrafast. Have a good one.

    Hi Chuck! Thanks for your videos!
    I'm new to 3D printing (Started in July & have an E5+ with mostly stock parts). I've been using/learning Prusaslicer, but since I see you create custom profiles, I think I'm going to change to Cura. I'm loving/hating the learning process, but I think your help & settings will have me loving, more than hating :D
    I''ve downloaded Cura and will try some of these. Thanks again!

    I found out your hyperfast profile is great for boardgame inserts! This saves me so much time and most designs feature simple token holders and card holders which really don't have nor need high details ;) Really advised to my fellow boardgame friends out there, this speeds up the printing of inserts by multiple hours.

    Profiles look great, thank you. The hyper profile came just at the right time for a few large functional pieces that dont need to be pretty, and its worked a treat on them, supports on the Hyper
    profile also break away really clean.

      Clearly I am missing something. How do you import the settings from the 3mf file. when I load it into cura 5, nothing changes. Can you help?

    • @FilamentFriday
      @FilamentFriday  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Go into settings and you'll find the setting "Default behaviour when opening a project file", select "always ask" in the drop down.

    • @markferrick10
      @markferrick10 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@FilamentFriday I have that set. stderr.log raises errors when using some ender2 files, I have an ender 3. I just opened an issue in the cura community ( not yet bug, because I am sure I am causing it some how. )
      Thanks for the response and the work you do for the community.
      EDIT: Help on FB suggested it may be the Start-up Optimizer causing issues, and when I disabled it, I was able to import the 3mf as a project.
      So, is this a Start-up Optimizer issue, Cura importer issue, or user error?

    Wow absolutely amazing results with the Extra Fast profile. I make and sell cookie stamps. Using my stock Ender 3 V2 profile it took 4 hours to print a cookie stamp. Using the Extra Fast profile 1 hour and 4 minutes and the quality is great for what I need it to be for these stamps. Absolutely astounded. This saves me having to expand my print farm. Thank you Chep!

    I was able to take your profile and use it for printing miniatures pretty well. Just changed the layer height to .08 and the temp for my printer and the results are nice.
