  • Testing the mini frp outrigger hydroplane, test unsuccessful! I originally set the boat up for inrunner water cooled brushless motors, I've been Testing the 2835 4000kv brushless outrunner motor in the mini rigger. i should have used a watercooled motor mount. lesson here is to always run watercooling to your rc boat electronics .

    I've been there too. The insulations on the copper windings on the stator got too hot and melted. When the motor got short circut, demagnitized or clogged, if we still throttle it the ESC will be fried. It's good that the ESC survived this time :)

      Thanks. I've got a 3/16 stepped down to 1/8 shaft on the way and a few 30-32mm props thanks for the advice, she getting there slowly bet surely. The next rigger build I should know the drill. Lol

    In the vedio, the left sponson is lifting during acceleration. That's probably due to the torque from the prop. Maybe try a smaller prop at 3s. For your reference, My 500mm long mini rigger use an x-team 28mm*35mm(physical size) inrunner motor at 3300kv, and 30-32mm pitch 1.4 prop. I stick to 3S with this configuration. 38mm propeller is probably good on motors physical size larger than 28mm*60mm, Under 3S.

      Glad I could help, but out riggers are definitely not my expertise, lol. I've almost got it figured out, it's a learning experience. Thanks for watching. 👊

    Sorry to see this 😳.I hope you can get to buy the 3500kv 2850 for Tiansheng EDF can run it 4s 32mm prop max without Watercooling 3.75mm shaft it's really powerful top speed economical,I had your motor but I never used it.Id keep trying with your rigger to me looks like not enough weight in the front 😊

      Yea the 2935 outrunner motor is 64g the leopard hobby 2845 is 125g with out waterjacket 2850 leopard x2 150g w/o jacket.. Hopefully I put a heavier motor I want have to use so much down trim on the strut. The 2845 w/ jacket should be about right. The 2850 may be to heavy almost the same weight as the 2969 rocket motor (185g)? I'm determined to get that dern rigger running tip top.

      @@IRONCLADRC That's really good you'll get it right I'm sure you will,I've found that the boats that have been burnt end up the best,either burnt or drowned.I have a leopard LC-450 3500kv 4s outrunner motor and Octura x430 I'm going to try we seen it in Micro iceberg twin cat 450mm goes over 100kph easily..I think you did really well with your red boat 😊👍

    or OR not put an outrunner in a sealed compartment. also did i see u try to start the motor after u poured water into it?? u do know what electricity is right? it doesnt go well with water. anyhoo u had fun so better luck next time. u can also google everything ur doing and find better options

      Pouring water on for entertainment purpose!!!! I run an outrunner in this boat w/o watercooling it's a lower kv motor than what I was running in this video. No heat even with larger props.

    I over heated my esc on my veleos due to mud on my rudder plugged the water hole, now when I run it now it doesn't seem as fast and it still runs hot after 15 minutes of running then shuts down. Anybody got any suggestions on what I need to do to fix it?

    • @IRONCLADRC
      @IRONCLADRC  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Probably gonna have to get a new ESC Basically fried the Compassers

    Feels like the motor shorted inside or something. Really weird you made 2 runs before with normal temp...

    • @IRONCLADRC
      @IRONCLADRC  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I agree? Never had any trouble before & Temps have always been under 100° f. Even on 4s. Never herd a motor make that sound before, realy don't have all that much experience with outrunner style motors. So I'm not sure if that's a common sound or not ?

    • @jansvasta2146
      @jansvasta2146 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@IRONCLADRC Yeah that sound was horrid. Propably because the magnets demagnetized and the motor started cogging (motor could no longer match the pulses from the esc, jerking back and forth while making a horrible noise).

    a smaller prop would put less stress on the motor

  • @gillian9178

    Detonque the prop.
