Thanks for watching ironclad rc tinker test and tune everything rc
Personal contact information ironcladedout@gmail.com
these videos are a huge help! currently doing an inlay an bunch of upgrades to my big mono hull
Good luck with your build I'm here if you have any questions. BG4L
Thank you for sharing so much building info with everyone. Even as an experienced (older) builder I learn things from your videos. I use a cut off from a drill bit in my collet with a wrap or 2 off masking tape to make it a neat fit in the stuffing tube. This helps if you can't see the alignment or are having trouble holding the motor in place. Keep up the good work Mr Big B
I'll keep that in mind, thanks for watching
Can’t wait to see this thing go 100+, keep the videos coming Big B
The ul 19 is gonna be a beast bro. Can’t wait to see it fly. Nothing better than a stiff hull
Now you see why mine has the factory tray out and run the carbon fiber tray😂That factory tray is tough but heavy, and easiest way to save weight👍Nice build Big B and can’t wait to see her run again.
Awesome..and this is why I love your work ...
Ah ! At last. A w c motor mount.......nice job, realy nice.
I love my UL. You’ve seen my UL on Reddit, too. I don’t love mine THAT much though, I appreciate 40mph. The rabbit hole goes deep for sure. The build looks epic, too rich for my blood but I love watching!
Great job, lookin good! I have been using dual lock by 3m as a velcro replacement.
Hey Im curious as to why you epoxied the motor mount directly to the hull of the boat in a permanent fixed position? The mount has all those holes on the sides for mounting, why not epoxy 2 blocks to the hull and then bolt the mount to the blocks...This way you still have some adjustability where you can slide the motor/mount fwd or back.
I've always Permanently mounted my motor mounts, using the holes in the side as epoxy dam holes for bonding. Never really thought about using the bottom rail holes for a removal mounting option, thanks for the tip, I've seen it done but never tried it myself.
This was really helpful! Thank you sir.
Awesome build!
Nothing wrong with epoxying the motormount and you did it very nice. We all got different ways to bond stuff. I use sealingbond used for car windows... Kind off a hassle because it stains (so i tape it), but is very, very strong en you can cut it when it has to come loose again (there will be remains after cutting because its so damn strong and you can use open can just for so long). You can nearly glue everything with it...
This thing is going to fly, that's for sure...
Can you send a link for the adhesive
@@IRONCLADRC brand is Sika. Called sikaflex260 or 522. It's a hybrid glue. It's used in car (for instance front window) and trailer builds (aluminium frame and sheets bonding). When dry it's almost resistant to all chemicals, uv, salt water, hi/low temps and so on. Don't know if its available in States, but i buy it at a local car parts store. Is especially ment for use in automotive industry...
Beautiful build Big B!! I use Velcro as well & jam foam between batteries & top of hull to hold them in place. What are you going to do with the cooling jacket? Now I have to go sand my winglet 😂. Cool trick!!
I've got a shorter jacket that fits perfectly,
Yeah good morning big B..
Hey big B, I see in your last video you used a different epoxy to inlay the carbon fibre and then used bob smith in this video to help with putting on the motor mount. My question is could I use the bob smith industries epoxy to inlay a whole boat while thinning it with a bit of alcohol? Don’t have a lot of resources where I’m at but I do have the slow cure and was hoping that would be enough, going in my Proboat mystic 29 and it’s also my first time. Love your vids!
Yea you can use the slow cure but you need to work quick, I wouldn't thin the epoxy to much when laying up carbon fiber you need it to be "sticky" so it holds everything down in place
So what is the magic in a bottle that you use? I thought maybe a good video would be to show all the stuff in your workshop, and the workshop itself, might not be much for you but all the followers and fans would really enjoy it…… and also maybe showing yourself in front of the camera!!!!!!
Probably denatured alcohol, been a while since I Made this video
Gonna try a enlay of carbon fiber on the pathfinder build still thinking about theme of boat it's more orange then red so I'm thinking retro orange crush soda , been orange crushed. Was thing electronics tray but cant get the velez tray so I'm gonna do the same on my cat. Thanks for the videos I learned alot wish I seen some before I started some builds that turned out crappy .
Im surprised you didnt trumpet the end of the stuffin tube? Id think then no worries about heat. Just something going through my head is all
let's goooOoOoooo BigB! 😁
When you assemble the motor mount. Is better to loctite the screw or use the spring washer ?
I'd use the spring washer on the rail mounting screws? I learned the hard way? Loc-tite dried hard! When I went to remove the motor I stripped all 4 loc-tighted screws.
@@IRONCLADRC What parts do you recommend using loctite?
@05_caoquangbach21 definitely the motor head screws. All grub screws, Collet, steering, drive dog etc
@@IRONCLADRC thanks
Would super glue work fine connecting the mount to the hull? carbon mount and fiberglassed hull
Or should i use fiberglass resin and some chop up fiberglass
I'd use epoxy resin, super glue will not hold
Hi, please tell me, yesterday I glued a frame for the motor and applied too much epoxy resin, it turned out terribly ugly, too much resin, how can I fix this, how can I remove the excess?😢
Lots of info B. Love the Carbon fiber loos great and works even better. Can you apply the Carbon Fiber to a plastic hull. Was wondering if that would work. Great build so far. It's going to haul ass
I've reinforced the seems on the bj42 with CF it actually stuck rather well considering.... if you attempt a CF inlay in a poly hull IMO use Gflex by wetsystem its made to flex with plastic/ abs/poly materials. It's expensive but from what I hear it's worth it
Freakin sweet bro now I see why you didnt run the Ul 19 as much those stress cracks are bad , I know there cosmetic but still would freak me out!
I was leery of pushing the boat to hard, still kinda worried about the sponsons.. I'm almost tempted to pull the foam and reinforce the sponson tips..
it would strengthen the hull but add more weight, Im also contemplating pour foam 🤔 decisions, decisions!
Hi, i am building a boat and need your help.
The boat is 70cm long it is a mono boat.
The motor i will use, is a turnigy 3674 2200kv and 1750 watt with a 43 prop.
My question is, i choose a 4,75mm flex shaft, is that the right decision? Or should i take a less diameter flex shaft?
Regards
.187 with 3/16 stub shaft sounds about right, heavy duty cable so it shouldn't break.
Give it wings that shit is gonna flyyyyyy
Cool
Where did you buy that motor mount?

Hi i ve a Llumar u8 1:8 scale from proboat and i would like to convert it into brushless. It s old, the only perfect thing is the body. Could you help me or gimme some infos? Thank you, if you are interested ill give you additional informations. Great channel. Ciao!
threadless screw..lol ..insane..

We'll see..
