    During my many years dealing with o-rings in RC cars and in paintball I've found that many greases, even silicone greases can cause o-rings to swell. Most paintball guns are designed to take swelling into account and actually encourage using a grease that will swell the o-rings. My paintball gun was not designed that way so they recommended using Dow33 on the o-rings as that was the best and would not cause the o-rings to swell. So from then on that is all I use on o-rings now.

    I have a very lightweight coupler made by H&M that is 8mm to 1/4". Very high quality if you are interested? They are also 'sometimes' available at Rocket City Racing in FL. I get mine from him.
    A great tip for the threads on the tightening part of the collet, USE Anti-Sieze! It makes them last a lot longer and gives a better feel when tightening the cable down. H&M couplers are German made from high quality aircraft aluminum to high tolerances and THEY"RE LIGHTER! lol....

    Great fun watching your videos. When the Electro E. is done, will you be able to tell your faithful followers the weight difference between e-boat, and nitro-boat? Also, is there a shaft speed / rpm difference between the motor and the engine ? Waiting for episode 6.

    What drives the water flowing through the cooling jacket? Is it a separate pump or a esc with a built in pump?

    • @M5PerfHydros
      @M5PerfHydros  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      The water is picked up by the rudder, with the pressure of forward motion forcing the water through the passages. This video might help; th-cam.com/video/DoTdkYAx85k/w-d-xo.html

    Hi I was wondering if anyone knows of any videos on how to bend the brass tubing for flex shafts.. for some reason I can’t find anything

    • @M5PerfHydros
      @M5PerfHydros  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      If you build your boat carefully with the engine and strut positioned as much in-line as possible, the stuffing tube should require only a very gentle bend which is very easily done by hand. I have a video about shaft installation that may help; th-cam.com/video/3hq_kXPyd4I/w-d-xo.html

    Just little curious question? how does water go from one tube connector to other if the just dump into inside the jacket? I have one similar im not sure how these work?

    • @M5PerfHydros
      @M5PerfHydros  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      It's just wide open inside. Pressure on the inlet side from water pick-up at the rudder forces the water around the can and out the other side. Primitive, but it works!

      Did you get them from Bill at Rattlesnake RC? He has some that are a perfect fit. They are snug though. It helps to smear a bit of silicone lube (LUBE not silicone sealant) on them before you press them into the groove
