    I can't wait to see this rip! For mixing epoxy try using an empty soda or beer can. Flip it over and mix it in the concave portion on the bottom side of the can. When you mix it up it will naturally run back to the center and not spread out like if you use cardboard. As a bonus the aluminum can is so thin you can actually feel it heat up so you know when it's about to kick off. Now you just need some empty beer cans 🤣

      I've used soda/beer cans works great. 💪

    Really neat drive installation there Big B. The hardware is looking great 👍
    Interesting choice of motor and ESC. Made me smile when you were epoxying the stuffing tube and you said you want to keep the boat as light as possible. That motor and ESC certainly aren't light for a featherweight rigger, so will be interesting to see if the power/weight trade off works 😉

    • @IRONCLADRC
      @IRONCLADRC  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I want to keep the BOAT light basically because of the heavy electronics. It will probably sink into the abyss, first run out.

    My next Challenge is going to involve motor/prop/ESC/battery selections in a type of cheap and easy to build hull that has been the subject of a lot of experimentation on my part. I quickly discovered it is really easy to put so much power in a hull that it performs more like the Space Shuttle; launching itself many feet into the air at the first blip of the throttle. Use caution when you maiden that thing......

      @@IRONCLADRC You can bet I will not be drinking coffee when I watch that video. It's going to be a rocket, one way (vertically) or the other (horizontally). Either way it's going to be "Must See Video".

      @@norcalrc Big B is definitely building a rocket. As for the Challenge v2.0 boats I've been working on, some of my early power systems did just that: Space Shuttle, followed shortly thereafter by fish swimming underwater, and back to Space Shuttle again. It was actually hilarious. I think Big B's rocket will be more successful, but things will happen really fast at the speeds I expect to see with that setup.

    If I do one of those Mini Riggers,, i'd be putting in a .065 wire drive set up, from like ''Wolts''.
    ''A lot'' less hassle than the cable drives,, & noticeably smoother & definitely ''lighter,'', plus just fine for small stuff. 😉
    Been messing with Hydro's & Riggers ect. for over 30 years...
    Don't know why you call that a submerged drive ?? 🤔
    When Riggers & Hydros are set up right,, there should be less than 1/2 of the prop in the water ''when on plane'', & pretty much ''none'' of the strut,, which translates to a ''surface drive''.
    My 2 cents.

    I bought a Rigger boat constructor, collected everything, the first experience. It does not drive well, does not develop speed, how to properly adjust the angle of the propeller? Thank you.

    • @IRONCLADRC
      @IRONCLADRC  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The Strut should be parallel to the ride surface, set the boat on a table top so the sponsons are touching and adjust the strut flat with the table top

      There fun to mess with but can be a little aggravating at times leaving you scratching your head. Very tight everywhere, when I say everywhere I mean everywhere.
      If it's a scratch build it takes alot of preparation and planning.
      If I were to recommend a rigger I'd get a kit with everything included! Like zipkits with the hardware package and use recommend electronics.
